Jesse, our DJ Kyle, and everyone else at Dart Collective elevated the experience of what was already bound to be the best day of our lives. I don’t know how to pay them a higher compliment, but I’ll break down how they did if it helps you choos...e them for your event. TL,DR: The best day of our lives wouldn’t have been the same without Dart Collective.
Our wedding date pushed twice due to covid, well over a year. Some could have used the opportunity to take advantage of us. Dart Collective honored our original agreement without hesitation. Spending the day together alone on what was supposed to be our original wedding date (April 11th, 2020) my now wife and I tried to avoid the obvious depression by making the most of it. We hosted a little at-home faux reception for the two of us. We made a dinner similar to what we would’ve been having. We dressed up for the first time in quarantine. But then both our phones buzzed – an email from Dart Collective. They had made us a personalized playlist to commemorate the day that should’ve been and reminded us that the great things are worth waiting for. We listened to the playlist and cried and danced and laughed and took pictures of ourselves in a fake tux & gown and ended up having a great night. It’s a playlist to which we still listen regularly. I can’t point to another vendor who had that type of emotional impact on us. “Vendor” really even seems like an insulting noun to use at this point
One more story…
Since I was like 15 years old, I always thought it would be really awesome for my bride-to-be, whoever that may be, to come down the aisle at a very specific cue of a Rolling Stones song called “I Am Waiting”. A hopeless, soap opera romantic, I know I know. From before our original date, everyone told me this would be too complicated to accomplish. From my best man, to my wedding planner, to the venue director, to my actual bride (who did love the idea, but thought it would be too stressful) everyone thought it was just beyond a reality. Dart Collective were the only folks who were like “We can totally do this, no problem.” The cue came 1 min 8 seconds into the song, but the problem was the bridal procession took about 2 minutes of walking down the aisle before the bride’s reveal. What do we do? Kyle simply said, “Time out how much song we need to add and I’ll loop the instrumentals.” And. It. Worked. Perfectly. I can’t shout from the roof tops enough about how well perfectly it happened. A small, silly, romantic theatric 20+ years in the making came true because of Dart Collective. The best moment of my life - DJ’d by Dart Collective.
BY far the most emotional review for a business I’ve ever written, and I can think of no one more deserving. And none of this even got into WHAT A FUN DANCE PARTY WE HAD!!! Holy Cow!! We got compliment after compliment! Every single person got on that dance floor! And sure - a metric ton of people can say the same about their wedding dance receptions and their DJs, right? Fine. But I can’t think of anyone who had a silly childhood dream come true because of their wedding DJ. Nor anyone can I think of anyone who had a nightmare of a day turned into an anniversary for celebrating unto itself because of their DJ. That’s the great stuff right there.
If they’re available for you, hire them. Otherwise, good luck finding a DJ who can move and shake like thissssss!! *dances away*
