Dave was very helpful throughout the planning process, day of and even following our wedding. He provided a template for a typical ceremony and then helped us to customize it to our liking. Dave did an excellent job of making our special day as amazing as it was!

Dave married my wife and I in March of 2020. We had first reached out to Dave back in the Fall of 2019 over phone and liked how easy going he was. We explained the type of ceremony we would like to have, and he emailed us a few templates to tailor of ceremony too. Between our phone call and wedding day, he walked us through the process of obtaining our marriage license and what we could expect. We had a small (less than 20) family only ceremony and everyone remarked at how beautiful the ceremony was because of Dave's presentation. Dave left us a beautiful note, wishing us a lifetime of happiness and included a nice keepsake wedding certificate. He filed our marriage license the next business day and told us to follow up if we had any questions. I would highly recommend Dave to anyone getting married in the Charlottesville area. His kindness and professionalism made our wedding day as stress free as possible.

Dave provided us with the perfect ceremony and delivered it flawlessly. We were looking for a very personal but not overly long or religious ceremony, and he gave us just that! He was easy to work with and he's a great public speaker. Highly recommend!

Dave was the best! He completely let us make the ceremony our own. We wrote our own vows but also did traditional vows as well. He also asked that we give him some bullet points on our "story" and and he did such a great job using that information. It was almost as if he knew us personally! He was recommended by our day-of-coordinator, and it was a perfect suggestion! Would recommend to anyone!

Dave was such a delight to work with. He had a calming presence, thoughtful responses to all our questions, and a great sense of humor. He had templates and examples to help us plan our ceremony and he also helped advise us on writing our own vows. He led us through a rehearsal that was efficient but spent plenty of time ensuring we had all our questions answered and felt comfortable and ready to go on the day of. We had guests comment after the ceremony that Dave was just radiating positivity the whole time--we felt it too!

Dave is amazing! We did the “just make it legal” package and had my brother in law do the ceremony! Dave was great with giving us guidelines for the ceremony, was super flexible with coming up to sign the papers and even submitted the papers for us! Dave is amazing and we even gave him a shout out at the end of the ceremony!

Dave officiated our wedding in October and he did an incredible job. From the first meeting we had with him, Dave was personable, laid back, and easy to get to know. We knew we wanted to book him after meeting him once and reading all of the incredible reviews. Dave was really helpful with choosing readings for our ceremony and planning out the order of the ceremony. He offered us a rehearsal the night before and arrived at our venue early on our wedding day. He has a great speaking voice and a wonderful, positive energy about him. He was integral in making our wedding ceremony so incredible. We were lucky to work with him and I’d recommend him to everyone!

If you are looking for a great wedding Officiant, Dave is your man. He is very good at returning your calls, emails or texts. I wanted to do a twist to the original wedding Vows and Dave went right along with it. Having Dave as our Officiant made our ceremony definitely one of a kind. Thank you Dave!!!

Dave was great to work with! We ended up booking him just two months before our wedding after other plans for an officiant fell through and I was really anxious about it, but Dave did a great job and it all worked out perfectly. He helped us figure out what we wanted to include in our ceremony ahead of time and took the lead on organizing the rehearsal vary naturally and with good humor. My fiance and I are both generally familiar with Charlottesville, but we lived in another state and I was worried about figuring out the logistical details of the cermeoney - who should stand where, how to signal the musician, etc. Dave had it all under control - He is very familiar with the area and knew our venue (the UVA Chapel) very well. He was able to lead the rehearsal with ease and his suggestions on logistical questions were on point. Also important, he has a pleasing speaking voice and a pleasant, non-pretentious manner - perfect for a wedding officiant! I highly recommend him.

Dave is actually a friend of ours, and even though we never witnessed him officiate a wedding, we knew he would be good seeing as he was Mayor of Charlottesville and a great public speaker. He did a great job and completely accommodated any and all ideas we had for the ceremony! I definitely recommend Dave as someone who will really listen to you and your fiance and make sure to personalize your ceremony the way you want!

Dave Norris was fantastic to worth. Very warm, friendly, direct, and straight-forward. Using his previous ceremony script examples, we mapped out our own ceremony and had complete trust that he would carry it out for us. He made out guests very comfortable and his voice carried for us despite a windy, cold outdoor setting. He also traveled a bit out of his way to come and lead the rehearsal for no extra charge. We loved working with Dave.
