David was an absolute joy to work with. I hired him to take some proposal photos for my engagement, and it went perfectly. David was exceedingly professional prior to the shoot, sp...
eaking with me on the phone a number of times to plan out all of the details of the event. On the day of, he did an outstanding job, managing to snap several candid shots during the proposal itself, as well as a few dozen more beautiful staged shots afterward. I would absolutely recommend David to anyone, as he made the entire process seem so easy. He is very personable and took any nerves out of the air by being so sincere and outgoing during the session. I very much hope to get the opportunity to work with him again.
David Bates was amazing! He was very accommodating and listened to my concerns of smiling with my eyes and was not afraid to tell me to open them! He was so great with hiding himse...

David was a pleasure to work with. He brought a lot of energy and professionalism to his role as our wedding photographer. It seemed like he was everywhere at once, and his pictu...
res reflected that. The candid pictures he did during the reception were exceptional. He even went so far as to climb up into the rafters of the barn venue we had to get some overhead shots of the dancing! His most amazing feat was wrangling the entire grooms side as well as the entire brides side (probably 50 people each) to take a couple of family pictures at our request. It wasn't easy, but he pulled it off and got some great photos. When it comes to wedding package options he can't be beat in the southern Maine area. He has the typical wedding photo packages but also offers a by the hour option with a minimum of 3 hours where you can receive all of the edited photos digitally, and he is an artist when it comes to editing. We really couldn't have asked for a better photographer. He made our day even more special, and I will be recommending him to all of our friends!
