David C. Allen Photography

There are photographers and then there are PHOTOGRAPHERS and David C Allen photography is the latter. What’s the difference? I would never consider having a wedding again (well, hopefully I won’t need to) but if I knew David was going to photograph it, I’d go through the whole tedious process that is wedding planning just for more David photos. When I was in Austin a year and a half ago I had some sunset engagement pictures taken by David and they were amazing and I knew I wanted to have him take my wedding photos as well. Luckily, David travels! He flew out to Virginia for our wedding for an incredibly fair price and was covid compliant the entire time for the wedding. But my favorite part about David is his ability to work with couples. Both my husband and I are people who don’t like pictures taken of ourselves but we both value having good photographs to look back on. Quite the conundrum. But David’s easy-going, fun personality put us both at ease immediately. He knows how to guide and direct couples in order to get the best pictures, knows great poses, knows how to chase the light… literally. My wedding day had exactly 90 seconds of sunshine. David was watching the sky and was able to pull us for a quick shot at the exact moment. His editing is also spot-on. I can’t wait to buy every single form of canvas, photo book, etc that exists for these photos. Highly highly recommend booking David for your photography needs.

David is a gem. I can't stress enough how amazing he was throughout our entire wedding planning process. We started our relationship with a FaceTime call that made me feel really comfortable and excited about working with him (which in itself is a feat - I'd had calls with other photographers before then and it always felt stiff), and then for the next few months he answered my million questions whenever I needed him and made me feel super relaxed about the whole thing. On the day of our wedding, he was prompt, professional and delightful. He was so patient with me dragging him around to take pictures of us with various people, and he got every shot we had on our list. Throughout the evening, he was so sweet to everyone - I've gotten so many compliments on our photographer choice because I have friends who talked to him throughout the night, and a friend who was interested in his camera so he allowed them to take a photo with it as well. Also, during our sunset photos, he made us laugh so much and have fun during something that may have otherwise been uncomfortable because we're not used to posing. And that's all before I even talk about the pictures - when I saw the first batch, I was over the moon, and then every day I could not WAIT for more. He caught every moment that I could have asked for - so many sweet moments, hilarious moments, moments that I am so happy I can remember forever through his lens. I love every single photo. I can't believe how wonderful they are, and they make me happy every time I look through them. He obviously has a talent for framing and focus and lighting, but more than that, he has a talent for capturing emotion. When I look at the photos he captured, I can feel what I felt in that moment. They're so special to me, and they are beyond worth every penny. In short, David is the very best, and if I ever have a need for a photographer for any occasion in the future, he'll be the only person in mind.

David was wonderful! He was very professional and fun to work with! I recommend him to everyone! He finished editing our wedding pictures in less than 14 days! Awesome guy!

We absolutely loved our pictures! David did such a great job at making us feel comfortable and we couldn't be happier with the results. My husband and I do not take pictures often, so we really needed guidance on how to stand, etc. David was super patient and gave great direction. He even had some preview photos ready during our reception! Our guests raved about the pictures and couldn't say enough kind words. His turn around time was amazing. I really couldn't recommend him enough.

David C Allen photography is the best life decision I’ve ever made. His natural lighting approach is what drew me to his photography originally but then when we met David, he ended up being so down to earth and patient too!!! He’s also so good at giving artistic direction to yield the best photos (and by that I mean I’m super awk but David really helped guide my fiancé and I to help make our photos look gorgeous!) I can not rave enough about David. Just pick him as your photographer already! You will not regret it!

David shot our wedding this past weekend. The images I have seen so far are breathtaking and I can't wait to see the rest of the pictures! He made us feel completely comfortable behind the camera. We will recommend him to all our friends and family!

David was our photographer for our engagement photos and wedding day photos. He is extremely great at what he does. He made my husband and I feel comfortable, and walked us through poses until we felt like we were pros. We are so thankful that we found David. The professionalism and creativity is second to none! We didn't want the standard traditional pictures that folks normally get, we wanted something creative and captures who we truly are. They turned out AMAZING! He worked with us closely in order to meet the vision we had and really wanted. We highly suggest David!

David was our wedding photographer and he was incredible! He was extremely adaptable and handled potentially stressful situations with ease. He said, “I want it to feel like a friend is taking your picture and not just a stranger”, and he definitely made us feel at ease. Somehow he happened to be at all places at once and captured so many wonderful memories that day. We planned our wedding from many states away, and communicating with David was always very easy and our pictures came back in a very timely manner! What was also neat was during the wedding, he played a short slide show of the pictures he had taken so far and all the guests loved it! I would recommend David to anyone!

David did such an amazing job with our engagement pictures! He was so fun to work with but more importantly so patient! Everything we could’ve dreamed of came to light in the photos he took. David did my bridal portraits and my wedding. I literally could not have been any happier. There is something about David that easily sets him apart from the rest: his natural ability to set anyone at ease and capture the best and most critical moments. He captured my husband and me at our happiest without any awkwardness, and we look back on these photos feeling beautiful. David also has an incredible eye for light and breathes magic into any scene, no matter the location. 100/10, would (and do!) recommend to any and everyone. David is a phenomenal photographer! He is extremely talented and is very authentic in the way he takes photos (nothing cheesy or fake which my husband and I much appreciated). David's pricing is as good as it gets for the quality you get and he is truly someone we consider a friend after working with. He is very personable and genuine in his work and relationships. Pictures of your wedding day are the second most important thing after the actual day itself. We live in a time where photographers are stylizing their photos with various filters and poses but those fads don’t work for remembering your wedding day. The reason my husband and I chose David Allen to be our photographer is because he creates images that are timeless. His work his crisp, clean, and precise. He works well with you as a couple, engages with you and makes you feel comfortable while also perfectly executing his job as the photographer. There are literally not even words to express how incredible he is and I can’t stress enough that he’s the photographer you need!! Book him book him book him!! I go back and look at my wedding photos at least twice a month, they’re just that flawless and incredibly special. I wouldn’t have those precious memories without David. He’s your guy!!

David was absolutely amazing! This guy knows what hes doing, fulfills all of your photography requests to the absolute best of his abilities and he was super fun. Our guests got to view some of the shots of the night on a laptop that he set up and everyone loved his work! There was a lighting issue at the Venue we chose and he made sure all of our pictures were perfect! We will be using him again and recommending him to everyone we know! Best photographer ever!!! He did my engagement, bridals, and wedding pictures. He is the most creative person I’ve ever met. All my pictures are far beyond what I ever expected. He has such an eye for capturing beautiful memories. Overall he is such a good man.
