If you are thinking about buying a dress from David's Bridal, DON'T! Their customer service is beyond horrible. I made an appointment to go try on dresses a week before. When I went, the staff was stretched way too thin. They're more concerned ...about how many clients they can see, not how happy brides leave. The girl helping me and the friend that went with me was constantly bad-mouthing other employees to us. She even said she was sorry for the chaos and said the girl who was supposed to handle my appointment called in sick claiming she was in labor. And she was making fun of her for being pregnant! She also bad-mouthed other clients to us, one time saying she was about to take the girl in the dressing room a few doors down "down a peg or too." She even said when I tried on a particular dress it looked good on me, but the girl across the salon looked fat in it. I can't help but wonder what she was saying to the other clients about me. When I returned to order the dress, the experience was better. However, when I went to pick up my dress, it seemed like it was way too tight. I commented on it to the sales lady, and she said, "Well, you probably just gained weight. You've already paid for it and you can't return it, so I don't know what you want me to do" and walked off. The gown was beaded and some of the beading was loose, like hanging by a thread. I asked her about it and she said "Well, it's not a new gown. What do you expect?" I was shocked. As much as I'd paid, I expected a new gown. She said it was a floor sample that had been dry cleaned. I asked if I at least got a discount for getting the floor sample and she said no. Seeing as she was the store manager, there was really no one else I could take my complaint to. She also told me if I wanted to beading fixed, their alterations department could do it... for a like $100 charge! I didn't tear it up, so I didn't feel it was my responsibility to fix it. When all was said and done, I left with my dress, and nearly in tears. I have friends who have had similar experiences there. If you find a gown you love there, I'd suggest taking a picture of it to a local bridal boutique and seeing if they can order it for you from the manufacturer. You might pay more, but it will be worth it to not be treated like dirt.
