I found Davis Imperial when I called Bhldn for recommendations on where to get my Estelle wedding dress altered. The alterations team at Davis Imperial were fantastic and a breeze to work with when I brought in my wedding dress. I found the appointment times easy and convenient, and had no issues finding times to work with my schedule - which is saying a lot given how hectic the weeks leading up to your wedding can be. When one of the cups on my dress was not laying correctly, they fit and refit the fabric until it was perfect. Upon picking up my dress after alterations were complete, they sent me with an emergency kit to cover any potential mishaps on the big day. (Thankfully I didn’t need it!) My dress fit like a glove and I felt absolutely stunning in it. The team even sent a giftcard after the wedding day with their congratulations, which I will definitely be using when I have my wedding dress hemmed and made into an anniversary dress. Prices were reasonable and clearly stated at every step along the way. I never felt pressured for add ons or extras. I was worried that it may not turn out exactly how I wanted with it being so large, but Iana at Davis Imperial Cleaners is amazing! My wedding dress turned out EXACTLY how I wanted - it was taken in, shortened, bustled beautifully and she even added straps that looked like they were created when the dress was made. In addition to my wedding dress, I brought in an older dress of my grandma's to be updated so I could wear it to the rehearsal dinner. I bought a sample wedding dress, and was so happy to have Davis Imperial Cleaners on my team to make it absolute perfection for the wedding. They had to replace the illusion top, and went through 4 different fabrics to make sure they picked THE perfect material. I never felt so beautiful, and while yes it was on the pricey side, you get what you pay for. They were meticulous and made sure it was perfect before they gave it back to me. If you want to be stress free about your dress, this is the place to hire.

Davis Cleaners did the alterations for my wedding dress. Davis came highly recommended from the Glamour Closet, where I purchased my dress. I had a great consultation, multiple fittings and the service was always great. At the final fitting we realized I lost more weight than expected and we had to take the dress in just a days before the wedding. Instead of that making me nervous Davis helped calm me and ensure this would keep the strapless gown from falling. It was a perfect fit!

Wow! What a find. This place is THE BEST. I wore separates for my wedding day: an intricately beaded bodysuit and seven layer skirt...needless to say, they had their work cut out for them (not to mention me losing ten pounds between my first consultation and final fitting). I am beyond impressed with how perfectly and efficiently the Davis team altered my attire, and even added extras like hidden hooks to ensure the bodysuit stayed attached to the skirt, and a ribbon. At the last minute I opted to purchase a miniskirt to change into during my reception, and they did some minor alterations to that at no additional charge. I live out of state but my wedding was in Chicago, so they were really great at working with me to ensure I had proper fittings when I was in town. On top of everything, they delivered my dress to the wedding venue 24 hours before the wedding, and it included an emergency kit just in case. My dress turned out PERFECTLY and I am incredibly happy with the choice to work with them. Look no further than Davis for your alterations!

Davis Imperial did a great job altering my wedding dress. I have little to no experience with utilizing a tailor, but they made each appointment quick (and I mean under 15 minutes) and easy. I had very little altering done to my dress, but after the small alterations that we did my dress fit perfectly.

I purchased my wedding gown from glamour closet in downtown Chicago and was given a referral (and $50 credit) for Davis Imperial, so I decided to take my gown there for alterations. From start to finish, the staff was professional and a pleasure to work with. Although my dress didn’t need a ton of work, I still felt like they were very attentive to detail and made sure everything was to my liking. It was a bit on the pricier side, but it was definitely worth it to have the piece of mind that my dress was in good hands. I would definitely recommend their services and plan to take my dress back for preservation!

I highly recommend Davis Imperial for dress alterations. They are a little pricier, but trust me they're worth it. I worked with Keturah who was amazing. I had 4 scheduled fittings, however needed to add a fitting a few days before the wedding to take in a bit more. They were so accommodating and so value what they do. My dress looked amazing and fit like a glove. I also had some very tricky buttons all down the back that Keturah was super patient with my MOH in practicing with.

They did a great job on the alterations for my dress! It was not a small dress, and it was super comfortable all night. They're also the only ones in Chicago who can do museum quality preservation for dresses! While they're a bit out of the way, especially if you don't have a car, they are totally worth it.

The ladies here SAVED my daughter's wedding dress. She not only got her dress very late from an unscrupulous salon, but had a bad experience with the first place we went for alterations. We came here with one week to go, with a beautiful but botched, high-end dress. The people here are PROS. They listened, worked fast, and made sure my daughter had the dress of her dreams. Davis imperial did my wedding dress alterations. They were fantastic! My dress was perfect so all I needed was a bustle and a small alteration on the top of the dress. They are very professional and know so much about dresses. She helped my maid of honor corset and bustle my dress. When I picked it up they provided me with an emergency kit that included, buttons, beads, sequins, pins, band aids, safety pins, a sewing kit, potpourri, double stick garment tape, and a spot cleaner! What a nice surprise! They are a little pricey, but totally worth it. I would definitely recommend their services!

I can’t recommend Davis Imperial Cleaners enough! Iana was so sweet and detail-oriented. She took a ton of appointments in the months leading up to my wedding, and since I was losing weight, she helped me make the right decisions about what changes to make and when. She even did final alterations in just a few days when I lost more weight than planned right before. They’re well worth the price, because everything fit like a glove. Worth every penny!! I got my dress from Glamour Closet and got my dress (which was many sizes bigger) altered at Davis Imperial. I don't know how they did it but it came out perfect. The staff was so friendly and nice. The peace of mind that my dress was in good hands was worth the price.

Loved everything about the Davis Imperial team. My dress was formfitting, allover lace (aka a lot of work) and they took it in stride. It turned out absolutely perfect and I couldn't have been happier.

Better than I expected. After finding my Wedding dress at Glamour Closet, I took their recommendation and sought out Davis to work on my alterations. I can't tell you if Davis is the most reasonable (I stopped my search after visiting them I felt so comfortable), but I can tell you they are worth every penny. I had 5 fittings over the course of 4 months and am so so grateful for the experience. The folks at Davis are super precise and careful with the Whole process ensuring you are happy with the alterations each step of the way. I used Davis per the recommendation of BHLDN for my dress alterations and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. They have multipe appointments to ensure everything is perfect and the way you'd like it. And they give their professional opinion when you have questions/ideas, but always make you feel like they want you to be happy with the results. I went back to have my jumpsuit for the rehearsal dinner altered as well! Will go back for other services in the future :)

Iana is the best. I went to Davis, per the recommendation of a friend and because I purchased my dress at Glamour Closet. Davis schedules 4-5 fittings before your wedding to ensure that your dress fits exactly as you want it. They quote you a price before you begin so you know exactly what it will cost. I stopped my search of finding a tailor after my visit to Davis. I don't know if they are the most affordable, but the confidence and peace of mind their shop gave me was worth every penny. If you are particular about your dress, or want to ensure the most perfect fit -- go to the folks at Davis!

Davis did an amazing job on the alterations for my wedding dress! I got my dress at Glamour Closet in Chicago and they recommended Davis Imperial Cleaners to me. When all was said and done: I got a cleaning, press, alterations, bustle and they put in bra cups into my dress. The girl who helped me did a fantastic job! She showed me different style options for my bustle, took pictures and let me walk away to think about them afterwards. Appointments were made a few times before the final day and each time was concerned I was happy with the work she did on my dress. My only con would be it was a bit pricey but at the same time, I wanted my wedding dress to be perfect and fit comfortably so I think the price was worth it.

I used Davis Imperial for my dress alterations as they were a preferred tailor for BHLDN and I was very happy with the service. They let me book all of my fitting in advance at my first appointment (I believe I had 4) and I loved how I had a lot of time to make decisions. The dress turned out perfect on my wedding day and they even deliver the dress the day before your wedding so you don’t need to pick up. It was a bit pricey, but I didn’t call around so I’m not sure how it compares to other places (it’s probably just Chicago prices). I highly recommend their team for your dress alterations!

Got my dress at glamour closet and we're recommended by them. Very trustworthy to make your dress look fabulous on you no matter what they had to alter. Very attentive and they schedule you for 4 to 5 visits to make sure everything fits perfectly. They don't cut anything until the end to make sure your completely satisfied and don't want to make any changes. A little pricey but worth it for your dress. Not anyone knows how.

They are expensive, however, you get what you pay for. I purchased my gown at Vera Wang and this was there preferred vendor for alterations. They gave me a price upfront which was all inclusive of any and everything I wanted done to my dress. They did an excellent job - my dress was absolutely perfect the day of the wedding! They were very timely with my fittings and paid much care and attention to every little thing I wanted done. The delivery to my home was on time and the way they packaged my dress was stellar. I highly recommend them - they are worth the price!

My dress turned out perfect every time. IT was an easy experience. The bustle they designed was beautiful. I actually liked it better than my train. They also were able to sew in cups into my dress so that I didn't have to worry about buying a bra.

I had my wedding dress altered at Davis Imperial Cleaners after purchasing an off the rack Judd Waddell dress at the Glamour Closet. The dress I walked in with was about 10 sizes too big, but on my wedding day it fit like a glove! The dress was almost ready to go after 1 fitting, but they really listened and fixed all the little details I needed changed. I'm so pleased with the job that they did on my dress, including altering a tricky lace hem. The price for alterations and cleaning was about $1200 (yikes!!), but it was worth it to be able to drop the dress off about 7 months before the wedding and not have to worry about it until it got delivered to my parents house the week before the wedding. I was able to easily schedule as many fittings as I wanted and Ketura was also so pleasant and helpful to work with. I'm so glad that I trusted Imperial with my dress!

I would recommend doing one last viewing right before the wedding if there were any issues at your last fitting but Davis is an honest company that does a great job. I got my dress at a sample sale and it was in pretty good shape but they only charged me for the cleaning and the bustle! (I didn't need any other alterations.) They were easy to schedule appointments and delivered my dress, even though it was in the suburbs!

My dress and all of my bridesmaids dresses were delivered at the exact time I was told they would be there. They were absolutely prefect. Not a flaw. They even gave me a small day of emergency kit! Very easy to work with!!

My wedding gown from Vera Wang had a silk organza mermaid bottom with ladder technique. It looked like a complete mess until Davis Imperial Cleaners got their hands on it. They made my dress look absolutely perfect. The price is astronomical, but they do a great job.

I was so impressed with the service and results for my couture dresses for my classic yet nontraditional wedding. The dresses were immaculate and finished in enough time for my wedding after all my alterations. I felt like a queen and really appreciated the care pack with last minute essentials.

The title pretty much sums it up--Davis is pricey, but they are the experts. It's a dry cleaning experience from beginning to end. The waiting area is probably the nicest waiting area for a cleaners ever! They do deliver your cleaned and pressed dress to you, along with an emergency sewing kit and even a nice sachet for storage.

Davis Imperial did a really great job making my sample dress shine like new. The only issue I had was that one of the straps stretched a little as it hung and so it as loose on me during the wedding. Overall, though, with my complex lace dress I would trust them to take amazing care.

All I wanted was to steam out a few wrinkles in my new dress. That is not all I got. I got a $350 bill to press about 1/4 of my dress. This was after they hijack the dress, then tell you the price that it will cost, then when you are shocked they can return it to you but not that day ofcourse, and if you are like me and wanted a fresh steamed out dress rught before the wedding day, there is no time to change locations at that point. So, I was forced to pay it, as they would not alter the price at all or press only the parts I wanted. It is not their policy to listen to the customer. Highly recommend staying away from this place. The Dress Doctor was the referral. Not good for them either... Crazy!

I wore my mom's wedding dress that had some alterations to it. During the alteration process we came across a little stain from when he had been preserved. Davis Imperial said that they had to clean the whole dress in order to get the stain out. We agreed - it took a month - but the dress was clean and pressed and delivered to my parents house - it looked great. They did give a little emergency day kit which was a nice personal touch. If your dress is precious -they certainly took good care of it and handled it well. Expensive - but I never worried about the overall care of my dress - I knew it was in good hands!
