When my fiance and I received the preferred vendor list from our venue (Fairmont Orchid), our immediate priority was to find the best photographer to capture our big day. After seeing all the portfolios, Dawn’s was hands-down our first choice. We were thrilled when we found out she was available and soon after, we had a phone meeting to discuss our vision, expectations, and Dawn answered our endless questions. Planning a destination wedding miles away in California wasn’t easy and finding out the wedding would be indoors because of the rain was devastating. However, I was reassured knowing that Dawn knew all the great photo spots at the venue and she guided us thorough every step of the way. We were lucky the rain stopped during cocktail hour and Dawn took us to a beautiful black sand beach where we took gorgeous sunset photos with a resting sea turtle and we even captured a rainbow behind the palm trees. Dawn made my husband and I feel comfortable in front of the camera and the whole process was enjoyable. Within days of the wedding, Dawn emailed us sneak peek photos that were absolutely stunning. We’re so happy to have worked with Dawn and can’t recommend her enough.

If you are looking for a wedding photographer, just stop right here! Dawn is INCREDIBLE. I promise you will not regret working with her. I've been trying to find the right words to describe how amazing she was to work with and I found that words won't do her justice. She was an amazing sounding board when talking through the timeline of the day, and very responsive! On the day of the wedding it felt like we had known each other for a long time already! She made everyone VERY comfortable and was extremely kind. We received our photos back in just a few weeks and they are exquisite. You can relive the emotion of the day through her photos. 3 months later and we still haven't been able to make printing decisions because we love TOO MANY OF them! Dawn was fantastic! I'd been searching for a photographer who had experience photographing PoC and interracial couples. Our wedding photos are gorgeous! We were so happy with how she captured us. Her style is journalistic photograhy - she captures real moments and gives them an editorialized glow. Images appear vibrant, realistic and sophisticated. On our wedding day, she made us feel at ease in front of the camera, we never felt awkward. 14 days after our wedding we had our full wedding photographs delievered to us - fully edited and curated. That was 750 beautiful images! If you have ideas, communicate them and she will make them happen. Shes a great collaborator; we also had a videography team and the two of them worked so well together. No stepping on each others toes. She is a phenomenal photographer, you will not regret choosing her!

My husband and I booked Dawn Eicher for our destination wedding in Hawaii. Since it was a destination wedding and we booked it during COVID, we didn't meet any of our vendors (or even see the venue) in person until we arrived in Hawaii for our wedding. Not only was Dawn an amazing photographer, but she was 100% the most reliable of all our vendors (not going to get into the stories of some of the others here). Dawn was also super responsive throughout the whole process, which we noticed was not a common trait among many of the other wedding vendors we spoke with. We researched dozens and dozens of photographers and Zoom interviewed a couple, including Dawn, and just felt Dawn was the right fit- felt we had a good conversation and her sample pictures were beautiful. We're so glad we ended up going with Dawn because our pictures came out amazing! I was pretty nervous for a good part of the day (not nervous about marrying my husband, but about just the wedding itself) and felt that Dawn helped make me feel a lot more calm and at ease. She knew the venue so well, knew all the good spots to get the best shots and when to be at them (in terms of before/during/after sunset). It actually ended up raining during our couples photos and she still managed to get really wonderful photos of us. Also I'm an awkward photo taker so I was surprised she got so many perfect shots of us! We would 100% recommend Dawn and would book her all over again if we did it all over again.

Dawn did an amazing job with not only taking our pictures but with the whole process! We were very comfortable around her, she listened to us and helped us get an amazing photo on the lava rocks which is better than I could have dreamed of. We also got our wedding photos back very quickly and I am obsessed with them. Loved Dawn and highly recommend her!!

I could easily write a TedTalk as to why you should hire Dawn and why hiring her was hands-down the easiest decision we made with our wedding. But I will bottom line it for you: • She is timely with her communications and provided a full itinerary as to what to expect on the day of our wedding. • Prior to signing the contract, she sent a full portfolio of three other weddings she had shot at our venue. • She had excellent suggestions as to where we should shoot and at what times. (We opted for a sunset session.) • During our phone interview she gave me the low-down on who makes the best wedding cakes on the island, can’t miss dining experiences, and she even suggested what ended up being our favorite outing during our honeymoon on Maui. (Trilogy cruise to Lanai. Thanks, Dawn, it was AMAZE!!!) • Day of she came prepped with a sense of humor and easy to follow cues when posing. • She has an amazing energy that really put our whole wedding party at ease. • She told us it would take 3 weeks to get photos back but delivered in less than half that time. • The photos were better than anything I could have ever hoped for! Hire Dawn, she’s the best!!! And please remember to save a slice of cake for her!!!

Dawn is absolutely fantastic - a quintessential professional. We highly recommend her. Our wedding was at the Royal Kona Resort, and she works very well with the staff there and is extremely knowledgeable about the best photography locations around the resort. We were working on a budget and were only able to have her for two hours. She definitely made the most out of her time there and was able to organize our friends and family to capture great images in a short period of time. She is so warm and friendly and made us feel very comfortable from the beginning. We plan on hiring her again for our one-year anniversary photographs. Dawn provided THE BEST memories (photos and videos) of our daughters wedding but I’m not surprised, she has photographed our family photos multiple times! I keep hiring her because the images she captures are incredible and such a vivid reminder of that moment in time. I feel she has a great balance of understanding exactly what you want and the talent to snap the pictures you didn’t know you needed. I love her work and I love working with her. When it comes to choosing the perfect photographer for your wedding, trust me you will need someone who is not only capable of shooting stunning photos but also capable of enabling you to chill, have fun and be the most natural self for your big day! Dawn is THE ONE! We were so lucky to have her shooting for our beach wedding on Big Island. From the pre-event communications, to the day of, and to the post-production, Dawn made us feel that we were in good hands throughout (and the final products have proved that we were 😉)! She is very flexible and adaptive, and with her experience and knowledge in shooting for weddings, it was so enjoyable for us and for other of our vendors to work with her! Being an expert with a creative mind, she was humble and happy to build upon our ideas and made sure to capture the moments that we were not able to see. My parents unfortunately couldn't make it to our wedding due to the pandemic but after I shared the wedding photos that Dawn took for us, my mom said "I felt like I didn't miss a thing because the photographer captured every precious moments!". Last but not least, Dawn really cares! On the day of, she's like a big sister who wants to make the day as smooth as possible. Beyond her photographer's job, she was also running around making sure my vails was attached correctly (cuz it might fly away by the beach!), and me and my husband stay hydrated, etc. She even helped our videographer carried her bag down to the venue from the bride's prep room. Dawn made our big day magical and I'm sure she will make yours too!

My fiance and I had never taken professional photos so I did not know what to expect. Dawn instantly broke the ice and connected with us in such a wonderful way that we had no idea by time our shoot was done, we had spent that time taking pictures! It was the best experience I could have ever imagined. I highly recommend doing at least the hour shoot with two locations. The pictures were incredible that we got back. Not to mention, we got them back so quickly and we live on Maui where she did our photos. I am so happy I chose Dawn Eicher Photography and we will choose her time and time again. Dawn Eicher was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding at the Royal Kona Resort in Hawaii on November 13, 2021. Dawn was responsive, punctual, professional and just amazingly comfortable to work with. Dawn guided our family for the wedding and reception photos and captured one of the most important life events perfectly. We received our photos in the rime frame as promised. THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL!! The quality and creativity of the photos are excellent. We could not have been happier. We would highly recommend Dawn for any of your photography needs. You will not be disappointed. She is absolutely fabulous. I honestly don’t know what I would have done without her on this day. ☺️

We got married on the Big Island in October 2021, and we used Dawn and her husband for our photography and videography. I have to say that Dawn is just absolutely incredible! We just got our photos back and I am so in LOVE with so many of them. I don’t know how I will even be able to choose for our album! Our video should be ready any day and I am so excited to see that as well! Not only is Dawn talented at her craft, but she is just a downright amazing person. Planning a wedding during all of the Covid nonsense was not easy, but Dawn made it A LOT easier on us. She was so patient with us while we navigated the planning process. We initially wanted to hire Dawn's planning business (Pink Pineapple Weddings) to plan our wedding as well, but our venue didn't want us bringing in an outside planner since we had already signed on a contract with them. Despite the fact that we were unable to hire Dawn for our planning needs, she was still so incredibly helpful whenever I had a question. She even helped me come up with my wedding timeline! She has a lot of creative ideas for things that will make your photos look great. Honestly, I truly felt like I had met a friend. I feel like a lot of people just want to take your money and get you out of their way, but that is not the case with Dawn. She genuinely loves weddings, loves love and just wants you to have an amazing day. Good wedding photography on the island is not cheap, but it is worth every penny! My only regret is that we were unable to have Dawn plan our wedding as well. I would recommend hiring her for both your photography and planning needs. And definitely contact her before signing on with a venue!

My wife and I chose Dawn to photograph our vow renewal for our 10th anniversary. We weren't sure we were going to use a photographer but I am so glad that we did. The photos are beautiful and we are extremely happy with them. I would highly recommend Dawn for your wedding, vow renewal or any occasion when you visit the Big Island.

Dawn and her husband did the photography and videography for our destination wedding in Kona. I knew I picked the right photographer for me because every time I looked at her portfolio online her photos made me cry and I loved how she captured the light. When we received the photos for our own wedding, we were blown away! So many amazing photos! She captured every moment of the day perfectly. We had a small wedding, but to me, photography was the most important part of our day knowing that we wanted to be able to share that with all of our friends and family who weren’t there with us and when I showed them the photos, they really felt like they were there to experience every aspect of our special day. I cannot say enough about the sunset photos either…INCREDIBLE! BREATHTAKING! I have never felt so beautiful. Thank you so much! As I mentioned we also had Dawn’s husband do the videography/drone footage and we chose to have the full ceremony video and highlight film and that was amazing as well. They worked with the vendors and minister that we chose regularly, so everything went smoothly and the day was perfectly choreographed without feeling like it was. Dawn made the planning from afar easy with plenty of communication and I really feel like she had a true understanding of what I wanted for our event and even though we just met the day before our event, I felt very comfortable working with her and her husband. Everything felt easy from start to finish, the hardest part was narrowing down our favorite photos for the album because there were just so many amazing photos to chose from.

Dawn was easy to communicate with, has top notch camera equipment, makes you feel comfortable during the process and gives you stunning pictures that’ll last a lifetime. Win win. Do not hesitate to book with Dawn.

Dawn is absolute gem!! My husband and I were admittedly nervous going into our wedding photos session, as we both get a bit awkward when cameras come out. Dawn went above and beyond for our Honeymoon pictures! We originally were scheduled to get married in Hawaii but due to COVID our original wedding photo shoot became a honeymoon shoot once we ended up making it to Hawaii after getting married instead at home. Dawn was very accommodating to re-scheduling our photo shoot numerous times due to COVID restrictions and was always very responsive for any questions we had. On the day of our actual photo shoot, Dawn made both my husband and I feel so comfortable in front of the camera and took the most beautiful photos! We were so happy to have such beautiful memories captured of our trip! She is an awesome photographer and has a great eye for sunsets. Dawn's work is exceptional!! She knows all the ways to make you look like a top model on your wedding day. She crushed our sunset photos, and made our send off with a huge light up ALOHA sign, bubbles, and a fun crowd look picture perfect. We will treasure these photos forever. Dawn was absolutely amazing. Her husband, Mike, was the officiant and Dawn the photographer. Planning a designation wedding is stressful but with the two of them you will not be disappointed. My daughter was married on my husbands and my 50th wedding anniversary. Dawn and Mike made the occasion so special. You realize that this is their business but the love, energy they provided was outstanding. We never felt rushed, we felt we were welcomed. You will not be disappointed with their services before, during and after the wedding. The pictures literally took your breath away and looking at the photos felt like we were actually on the beach again in Kona.

Christine and I decided to elope and get married in Hawaii. We didn’t have much time to plan, but we made it happen. We needed someone to capture our special day. I first looked on Yelp for wedding photographers. Dawn came up as 1 of the top 5 photographers in Kailua-Kona. After reading the reviews and going through her portfolio, we decided we needed to have Dawn as our photographer. Christine and I were ecstatic Dawn would be available for our special day on such short notice. She’s was responsive and listened to our needs. Dawn was also recommended to us by our wedding planner Maggie. The day of the wedding, Dawn knocked on our hotel room door with a huge smile. She’s super approachable and most of all funny. You can tell Dawn is extremely passionate about capturing that special moment. And it shows in almost every picture she takes. When Dawn showed us the completed photos, Christine and I were extremely happy. Dawn exceeded our expectations. Dawn is an excellent wedding photographer and a true professional. She did our wedding in Kona HI in April and everything turned out wonderfully. She knew the best beaches with exactly what we were looking for (lava rocks, white sand, no crowds) and we even had a turtle surprise us that day for our photoshoot. Dawn took our surprise proposal and engagement photos. She is an absolute dream to work with! She was hidden in some rocks on the beach where my fiancé proposed to me. From the moment she popped out with her camera, she made us feel extremely comfortable behind the lens. She offers guidance for poses (for those who might feel a little awkward!), but also does an amazing job at capturing you and your loved one looking natural and relaxed. When we received our engagement photos back after editing, my fiancé and I could not stop smiling looking through them all. She was a superstar through it all and was so kind to encourage us to reach out if we made it to Hawaii. When we finally booked our trip out here I reached out to her and she was awesome at getting us a date booked for a couples keepsake/just married photo session! We planned on doing it at the same place we were previously planning going to get married and she traveled out the beach, found amazing backdrops and *somehow* made it seem like the wind wasn’t blowing a million miles per hour in our photos. Dawn was a consummate professional from start to finish - she was warm and quick to respond to all of our inquiries before the shoot, a total pro who made us feel comfortable and gave easy to follow directions during the shoot. She went over and beyond taking candid pictures of our children and other family members and her timing of pictures at sunset and knowing the waves she was able to get amazing shots and we stayed dry! Dawn took beautiful photos for our wedding in December 2020. Due to the pandemic, we had a virtual wedding over Zoom and wanted to have photos to commemorate the day. Dawn was extremely kind and helped us figure out what we wanted to do. We ended up doing a quick photoshoot outdoors on the beach prior to the Zoom ceremony, which felt very safe. The photos turned out wonderfully. Dawn captured some tender moments between myself and my husband as well as stunning backdrops of the beach. She timed the photos for the best waves and lighting. Dawn was professional, affordable, and I’d highly recommend her to anyone getting married on the big island in Hawaii.

Dawn shot our wedding in January 2021 at the Fairmont Orchid. Flat out, she was incredible! Could not have had a better experience. Before the wedding, she was very easy to talk to and was an asset and very helpful as we navigated the Covid situation on the island. Planning a destination wedding under normal circumstances can be challenging but in the midst of a pandemic can be a logistical nightmare! Dawn with Pink Pineapple Weddings put our concerns to rest and made planning our big day a seamless and easy process! My husband Cody and I married on 12/5/2020 in a private ceremony on Ironwoods Beach in Maui. We had a vision of what we wanted our wedding day and post celebrations to look like but needed help working out some of the details. We decided to retreat to Maui, just the two of us, and invite friends and family to attend our ceremony virtually through a livestream. I shared some ideas and concepts with Dawn and she ran with them! She partnered with local vendors to ensure that our flowers, leis, hair and makeup, cake, etc. were exactly what we wanted and fit into our budget. Dawn and her husband Mike (our wedding officiant- Bigislandofficiant.com) were so helpful. They kept us informed with the ever-changing COVID travel restrictions and requirements. We successfully arrived in Maui a few days before our wedding was to take place. Mike and Dawn met us to scout beaches for our ceremony and firm up last minute details. We had so much fun! A few days later, our day was finally here! From getting ready to exchanging “I do’s”, our day could not have been more perfect! Our ceremony was beautiful and went off without a hitch! The photoshoot following was a blast! We rented a 57’ Porsche Roadster to use in our pictures and to drive to dinner. Dawn took so many pictures making sure to document all of our special moments. We went to dinner at Merriman’s (one of Dawn’s recommendations). We enjoyed a delicious celebratory dinner and toasted with Liliko’i Mai Tai’s to our forever! The next morning we met Dawn and Mike for our “final plunge/trash the dress” photoshoot at Black Rock. What better way to solidify our vows and commitment to each other than to take a 30’ leap off of a giant lava rock?! Dawn snapped away, capturing our adventure while Mike cheered us on and made sure our phone/video camera was rolling! So fun and exhilarating! Our wedding weekend (ceremony, post celebrations, and jump) was absolutely amazing! Dawn was quick to get us “sneak peeks” of the pictures she had taken on our wedding day and of our jump at Black Rock so that we had them to share with friends and family right away! Within just a few weeks, Dawn emailed the remainder of our professionally edited photos. They are stunning and we couldn’t be happier with her work! She is so creative and detail oriented that she didn’t miss a thing! We are so grateful to have shared our wedding weekend with Dawn and Mike. They made our whole experience so wonderful! They are both delightful people and a pleasure to work with and be around. Mike is an absolute character with a great sense of humor! He is sure to keep you laughing! Dawn is fun, organized, and very helpful. She will make sure things are getting done as planned. She will run interference with vendors and prevent unwanted, stressful wedding day issues. Okay, we all want to do the whole get married in Hawaii thing. However it is overwhelming. If you are eloping, destination wedding, or spur of the moment it is stressful. So I did what any person would've done, went to google to see who could help me plan this special day. I spoke to multiple wedding planners, I almost went with another one, but Pink Pineapple Weddings was the best one in all of Hawaii, let me tell you why. Dawn and Mike are fully transparent, they helped me plan things and didn't over charge me for items so they could take a cut. Instead they were completely transparent about the prices for flowers, cake, equipment and the musician etc. Instead of the cake costing 300 and they charging me 320, and pocketing the 20, they charged me 300. I have never worked with such transparent people, ever. Dawn is 100% honest. I wanted to get married in a specific place, and she flat out was like I am not sure if you want to get your dress dirty, deal with the tourists etc. Each decision we made was calculated, and not made in order for them to make a quick buck. She helped me plan everything, we supported local businesses, and each vendor I worked with she recommend (although I didn't have to use her vendor if I didn't want to) was amazing and reasonably priced. Her packages are more than fair and in my opinion are underpriced. Her photography and organization, paired with her Husband's dedication and amazing officiant qualities, makes Pink Pineapple Weddings the place to choose to plan your wedding. I am just now receiving my pictures from the wedding. I am having multiple friends and family members telling me that these are the most beautiful pictures they have ever seen in their entire lives. Dawn has a true talent with photography and wedding planning. Mike knows how to make each ceremony unique and beautiful. I have never looked at a picture and re-lived the moment like this. Every picture Dawn has sent me, I genuinely re-live the moment in each swipe to the left within the album. You only get married once, thus you should pick the best wedding planner once to do this correctly the first time. Pink Pineapple Weddings answered all of my ridiculous, annoying questions no matter the time change, or time of the day. Dawn and Mike washed away all my anxiety and really made this day special and possible. I am beyond grateful for this business for Dawn and Mike! Thanks again!

Kona Engagement Dec. 2020 What first drew me to Dawn is her amazing portfolio of work! She is so talented, I was instantly drawn to the vibrancy of color in her photos and how the vibrant she kept backdrops of Hawaii while still keeping focus on the couples (I mean it’s so important when you choose beautiful a place to take photos right!?! 😊) Not only is Dawn talented, but she is equally professional and goes out of her way to provide the highest level of customer service. We were navigating our trip to Kona through the safe travels program during the pandemic and Dawn was so accommodating from booking and even after the shoot. We got exactly what we had hoped for and more! Thank you Dawn!!

Planning a wedding in 2020 was scary... until we decided to go with Dawn! From day one, Dawn was there for EVERY SINGLE STEP. She was generous with her time, helping us plan our elopement on the Big Island while we were in CT. She was very responsive when we had questions and flexible when plans changed due to the delays in traveling. She helped me find a makeup and hair stylist (which worked out perfect), delivered the bouquet and hakus for me and my little girl from a local florist (the most beautiful, tropical, arrangements, I’ve laid eyes on), helped us pick out a delicious cake from a world renowned chef and EVEN picked up my fiancée so we could have our “first-look moment” on the beach. She really took the stress out of it all and it was more than we could’ve asked for. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous posing. I have three poses at best so I wasn’t confident if I could deliver when the camera was on. But Dawn has a talent with her clients. She made us feel as if we were the only ones on the beach, in our bubble. I admire her art in making people feel so confident and comfortable. She was even able to make our 10 month old smile for a few pictures, which turned out to be the best family photo we have. I can’t say it enough. Our day was magical and beyond anything we could’ve ever imagined and a big part of that is because of Dawn and her team (we love Mike). If you are thinking about it, just do it! Our engagement photoshoot with Dawn in Hawaii was an unbelievable experience. We had so much fun, it was one of the highlights of our vacation!!! She was professional and went above and beyond our expectations. She helped us choose the most amazing site, which helped her produce photos that we will cherish for a lifetime!
