Dawna was so lovely to work with. We had an engagement shoot before our wedding and it was so nice to get to know her a bit before the big day! The photos from both the engagement shoot and the wedding came out SO beautifully and we are over the moon with them.
She is so personable and easy to talk to, and we never felt awkward or unnatural during our shoots. She was also open to our goofier ideas, which was really fun! We love the balance of posed and natural shots we got from the wedding, and the inclusion of our guests! It was also important to us to have private vows, and she was so thoughtful about helping us capture the moment without feeling self-conscious or staged.
I'm not a photographer, but the lighting and color grading of the photos is also so natural, beautiful, and vibrant. Some of the more candid photos have a really beautiful dreamy quality that I absolutely love.

Dawna is a gem.
When I started looking for a photographer for my wedding I knew my number one priority was to have bright, fun photos that capture the spirit of the wedding. Absolutely no offense to other wedding photographers in Washington state, but I noticed that a lot of them take a moodier and darker approach to the photos and that just isn't what I wanted for my wedding photos. Dawna DELIVERED! Her photos are incredible. The happiness and joy of the day were captured so perfectly.
She also was very communicative and flexible with us. We live out of state and were unable to do an engagement shoot around when we booked her, so we ended up doing the engagement shoot a couple days before the wedding. It was great to be able to practice with her and get more comfortable in front of the camera.

Hello! I'm Dawna, nice to 'meet' you! Here is some info about me: I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, but love to travel! I realized that I had a passion for photography when I was 14, after a family trip to Alaska, and have been pursuing it ever since. I photographed my first wedding at 18 for my cousin Dani, which also happened to be in Alaska. My first ‘real job’ out of college was working at a product studio and it was there that I realized photographing weddings was what I wanted to be doing!

uld do anything to make the engagement shoot and the wedding as comfortable for me as possible! She and her partner were quick on their feet, made sure they knew beforehand the exact types of photos we wanted, and were able to corral our family members and huge wedding party politely. As the night went on, I barely even noticed they were there, as they were really good at taking candid photos and knew where to "hide" during the important moments! Once we got the photos we went over them with Dawna and she provided tons of shots, on a USB stick, some prints, and an online gallery. Overall it was a great experience and I'd recommend her to anyone, especially those who might be uncomfortable in front of a camera at first.
