When I was researching videographers, I came across Day Eight Studios and immediately fell in love with their style and how romantic yet fun their films were. I reached out to Scott and Tori and they quickly sent me all their info, links to more work and we set up an intro call over FaceTime and we booked them. Fast forward a couple months and COVID hit and we had to postpone our wedding not once but twice. Scott, specifically, was so understanding and generous with us as we navigated postponements. When we finally had our wedding a year later, we had an amazing day with the Day Eight crew. They fit right in and we had so much fun hanging out with them all day! A couple weeks later we got our minute long teaser video. And then we received our full videos and we just love it so much! The video contains so many sweet moments that we ourselves didn't even get to experience on the day of, but Day Eight was there to capture it! We could never thank them for capturing our special day! Our wedding was during a very busy week for them yet you would never know just the day before they had just worked a wedding a few hours away all day. (I only know because my hair stylist was there with them the day before!) I’m in love with our photos, but the video is something truly special. A word of advice- add on the video package. It is 100% worth the extra cost. They are true story tellers! For everything that was delivered and the quality of it, their prices are a bargain compared to other photographers in the area. When we grow our family we will be using them again to capture our special moments!

ike what I wanted for our pictures with less than 2 weeks notice. I’m gonna be honest - I was probably so annoying in my email AND DM but they never made me feel like I was pestering them. I got extremely lucky and was able to book them for our big day. In one phone call, Tori was able to plan out our entire day of timeline for photos. She was so understanding of what was important to me and my “must have” pictures. Tori and Luke were so patient (even when I wasn’t) with my large family when trying to get pictures with them. They were also so patient with our large wedding party and I cannot thank them enough for that. Our sneak peek pictures were sooo beautiful and captured parts of the day perfectly. I cannot wait to see how the rest of the pics turn out. I will forever be grateful for Day Eight. They truly came in and saved the day and made it so memorable for us.

o have our engagement session done at Driftwood Beach. They told us since we were all unaware if it would be open or not would check the location the day before our shoot to ensure it would be open for us. Come the day of our shoot, we receive a call from Tori telling us that the park was closed and had only checked few sources online if “parks”, not our specific location but just parks in general, would be open. We were half way there already and decided to meet up to explore options anyway. The first suggestion given to us was to shoot on the side of the road basically in a ditch because “the greenery and lighting was nice.” Second option was to check an inlet just up the road which just a parking lot on the water near an overpass. It was then up to us to suggest rescheduling. We decided to change locations to downtown Atlantic Beach, near shops and restaurants, for the next day. When we arrive the next day, we’re a little surprised with the amount of people in the area but it wasn’t too busy to still get shots. However, they decided to aimlessly walk around the residential side of Atlantic Beach, nowhere near where we mentioned the day before. We were “posed” simply in front of bushes around people’s houses and sprinkled in a tiny bit of the beach at the end. There was clearly no research done about the area. We finished our shoot hopeful the photos would turn out better than both of our experiences since we only got a glimpse of one photo on the back of the camera and nothing else. This is pretty uncommon in a professional photographer. The day our photos were delivered, we immediately FIRED Day Eight Studios as our photographer/videographer and got our money back! Hair was messed up in multiple photos, ones not even taken on the beach just messy hair! Eyes were nearly closed from all of the fake laughing shots that were taken, which was nearly the only time we smiled. We stood straight on to the camera in majority of the “posing” making both of us look as wide as possible. Every spot used was just green bushes minus one where an arch of jasmine was used...shooting directly into someone’s backyard. In several shots where we were made to look like we’re walking together, there was a full size Lexus SUV and midsize sedan blatantly in the photo. Not a fender or headlight or peaking in the side, no, the entire vehicle was in the shot. Two in the driveway of a house and one parked on the road. There wasn’t a single shot of the ring. Sure they isolated our entire arms several times but nothing focused directly on the ring. We were even given multiple of the exact same shot. I don’t mean B&W and color, I mean the literal same shot, same angle, same edit, same everything. When it came to composition of the photo, we were simply stuck into the bottom corner of the frame by shifting the camera one way or another, stood straight on to the camera or left with an abundance of dead space losing us, the subject, to a cluttered scene. No attention to detail, no research of locations, doesn’t stick to their word, gives you “this is good enough” work, lack of posing guide(though they’ll claim to know what to do), zero creativity, lack of basic photography 101 skills and premium pricing for overly amateur work. Stay far away from this cookie-cutter style company.
