She also captured many fun candid photos throughout the evening. Beyond photos, she was very responsive over email, provided us with a detailed itinerary that helped us plan our day, and created a super sweet reel for us the day after our wedding. That being said, we are beyond thankful for finding Staci at Dear Olive Photography and selecting her to be our photographer to capture our special day. From the moment we initially reached out, Staci was warm, welcoming and excited about working with us! We set up a phone call to talk through her style, how she shoots, expectations for the wedding, etc. After that call, it was no question that we wanted to move forward with her. You want a photographer that you connect with, that makes you feel comfortable, even through the phone I felt that with Staci. We then met for an engagement session, which Kyle and I were a little nervous for – as we’ve never spent an hour in front of a camera and definitely didn’t know what to do with our hands haha. She took the lead and never once “posed” us, more-so had us fluidly move to be able to capture us in a raw/organic way. We laughed, danced and even splashed in the water of a lake, all nerves gone thanks to Staci. Weeks later, we received the most BEAUTIFUL engagement selects back and knew we’d made the right choice for the wedding. Prior to the wedding, Staci was quick to answer all of my rambling emails with questions or links to my Pinterest board with photography shots we liked. She sent a template with all of the formal family portraits we wanted and didn’t even bat an eye when I sent back a multi-page doc with my shot list. Come the wedding, Staci and her assistant, Jaylyn, took charge of the day. Everyone felt comfortable in front of the camera and would comment to me on the side how much they liked her and the way taking the photos felt effortless vs. posed or stiff. As unfortunate events happen, I ended up getting pretty sick before the ceremony into the rest of the night – this ended up requiring us to shift gears and change the day-of schedule quite a bit. Staci rolled with the punches and was even more supportive through it all when I needed it most. The rest of the night she captured every moment, it felt like she was everywhere to capture everything! What makes me the most happy and actually brings tears to my eyes now is after receiving some of our wedding photos back, she was able to capture the moments where I felt okay amidst be not feeling well– the photos all are magical and you would never know I wasn’t feeling well, which is exactly how I want to remember the day. So it is with 100% certainty that I would recommend Staci to shoot your wedding. She is a rockstar and we can absolutely FEEL our happiness radiate through the pictures of our wedding, which is exactly what we wanted. Thank you, Staci!!
