Debbie Does Doberge

From the very first time I saw DDD’s website I obsessed over the thought of having their amazing flavored cakes at our wedding. I live up north and was able to make a trip down to NOLA to try food and cake for the wedding. My sister and I did the tasting and both knew immediately DDD was the best choice! I am someone who always picks ice cream over cake, but Doberge is a whole other dessert in my opinion. I was able to have four delicious and unique flavors and DDD was even able to customize one of the flavors for us. We had a slice of all four! The cakes are also so beautiful, affordable, and we were able to display them so nicely!

The cakes from Debbie Does Doberge are absolutely delicious!! Hands down the best cakes we tried when researching for our wedding. They have tons of flavors available, not just your typical almond and yellow cake. We picked a Strawberry Cheesecake, Chocolate Cheesecake, and Carrot Cake. All of our guests loved them! Given the cake structure/ recipe, you can’t get elaborate cakes like you would at other bakeries. All of our cakes had white fondant with garnishments sprinkled around the border, which looked pretty and worked perfectly with our flower arrangements. Though not elaborate, the cakes were delicious; truly magnificent. Overall, I definitely would recommend DDD. One of the best decisions we made for our wedding.

My husband didn't care what we did for his grooms-cake, so I brought him to Bakery Bar, and told him we need to choose a doberge cake for the groomscake! We ended up doing a very large - 14" - Wedding Doberge Cake. It was actually really difficult to choose from all the delicious flavors! So, we went tradition-ish. We had accompanying cupcakes from another vendor, but the white doberge cake with a white fluer de lis was the star of the Sweets Table. I kind of wish we would've just done 3 different Debbie Does Doberge cakes instead.

We wanted unique cakes for our wedding and Debbie Does Doberge was the perfect choice. We had 3 unique flavors and every one of them got rave reviews from our guests, especially the fig and goat cheese.

My now husband and I went down to the Bakery Bar and fell in love with Debbie's Doberges! Our first thought when we were wedding planning was to have a doberge cake! Debbie Does Doberge made that happen for us and it is very easy to make your cake ONLINE! This was a huge help for an out of state bride! They were very understanding and helped us find the design we liked! Debbie actually emailed me to ask me personally how I would like the cake to look! Now when we get to the taste of the cake, Lemon Blueberry... Well we like it better than our wedding cake! We couldn't wait to finish the cake for our 1 year anniversary. We finished the cake last month. WHOOPS! 10/10 recommend and will be stopping by soon for some more sweets at the bakery bar!

I am not a huge fan of dessert so my wedding cake felt like an after thought. I booked Debbie does Doberge because the layered cakes looked interesting and the prices are fantastic! I never tasted any flavors or even tried doberge cake before the wedding. I was SO surprised at how GOOD these cakes were! We had 5 different flavors, and after the wedding was over I got to try all 5 flavors in my room. Each one was tender, flavorful, and the frosting is fluffy and not too sweet. My favorite was chocolate raspberry but crowd favorite was lemon icebox. Luckily our wedding planner fought off the crowds to get us a few pieces, there wasn't even a crumb left over! Thank you Faith for placing the cake pulls in our cake and using the gold cake boards. Y'all are the BEST!!

We cannot say enough about how delicious our cakes were from Debbie Does Doberge! We had the chocolate peanut butter and the I used to be thin mint. We absolutely loved them and so did our guests. The value was amazing too! Thank you Faith for adding to our special day!

My husband is from the New Orleans area and is a huge fan of doberge cake. Being a baker myself I wanted to support a fun, unique and talented bakery like DDD. Planning my wedding from NC was somewhat challenging but Charles and Faith made it an easy process. I was able to come into town for a tasting where I selected 3 flavors: red velvet, pecan praline and lemon blueberry. I had 3 beautiful cakes on different cake stands. Guests at the reception kept coming up to me saying, "I never eat cake at a wedding, and I've had 3 slices tonight already..." Ha! Mission accomplished! Quality customer service, prompt delivery, professional, delicious and gorgeous cakes.... I couldn't have asked for more! Thank you DDD team! I can't wait to check out your new venture, Bakery Bar!

As lovers of traditional Doberge cake in New Orleans, we were intrigued to find that there was someone that made Doberge cakes other than the traditional chocolate ones. We found Debbie Does Doberge on the knot.com and were very pleased with their services. From the initial cake tasting all the way through to the wedding day, they were very professional and very flexible to our needs. They have tiered cakes as well as sheet cake options for the Doberge - they also have several doberge flavor combinations. We chose the wedding cake doberge as well as the salted caramel doberge - both were amazing! I can't wait to find a reason to order another cake from them!

These cakes are delicious! That was the most important thing for us and Debbie Does Doberge really pulled through. We had three different cakes so we could try out more flavors and they did not disappoint! Planning our wedding from Los Angeles, Charles was super easy and efficient to work with. Everything went exactly as planned. We will definitely be ordering cakes from them again!

I chose Debbie Does Doberge for my wedding cake baker before I even met my fiancee. Their cakes are truly the tastiest cake I've ever tried. We ordered MORE than enough cake for our 325 guests One of our guests is a caterer (and a damn good cook) and her exact words were, "This is the best thing I've ever put into my mouth!" I think that says enough. Also, dealing with Charles was an absolute dream. He was patient, helpful, and so easy to work with. Our cake was beautiful and I didn't feel pressure to have something generic. They made me feel like I was the most important client they had. Incredible!!

DDD worked with us on our very unique vision for our nerdy but classy cake. We were able to get 3 different flavors for the 3 tiers, and our guests were clamoring to try all of the flavors after one bite. They even have a traditional "wedding cake" flavored doberge that is out of this world yummy! They provided a pretty cake stand, delivered our cake, and gave us supplies to take home the leftovers/top tier. The finished product was true to our vision and beautiful, and this is the best tasting wedding cake I've ever had! Charles is really easy to work with, very professional and helpful.

I am a fool for anything crafted by the hands of the people behind Debbie Does Doberge. If they were not free the date of my wedding I really might have had to change the day so they could bake my cakes! But luckily they were free. I had 8 different types of cakes for my wedding and each one was more delicious than the last. They are very reasonably priced, especially for the quality of product you will end up with. I wanted cake to WOW my guests, not just a traditional almond cake. My guests were thoroughly delighted with the different cakes and tried all of the different flavors. One caveat is that they do not have a traditional store front. They work out of the 12 mile limit, which is a delightful bar in mid-city.

So I found this amazing company, when searching Yelp reviews for delicious cakes in New Orleans. The reviews were making my mouth water, so I could not wait to try it myself! When we went down to NOLA to taste - I was blown away ... I have seriously never tasted cake this good in my life - it is TO DIE FOR. For our wedding we had a dessert bar featuring all Debbie Does Doberge desserts: 4 cakes, dobites and chocolate covered strawberries. In terms of flavors we had: I used to be thin mint, peach, red velvet smores, blueberry king cake, red velvet elvis, salted carmel, pistacchio and chocolate banana. We ordered way too much cake - and there was nothing left! Nothing - people ate everything! It was seriously the most amazing, delicious and decadent cake ever - and I am so so so glad that we found Debbie Does Doberge! Additionally, I should say that we worked with Charles - who is AWESOME! He is a pleasure to deal with and so nice and kind and patient - He made me feel calm and at ease from the get go - and working with him was a dream! This is an amazing company with amazing people and amazing cakes - You will not be disappointed!

We had a pistachio (green!!) doberge wedding cake. Not only was it beautiful, but it was truly the most delicious wedding cake I had ever tasted. No exaggeration here. Everyone agreed. So many people said "I never like wedding cake, but this was unlike any wedding cake, or any dessert for that matter, that I had ever tasted." The layers between the many cake layers are made of pudding (if you don't know what doberge is), so it's creamy and nov overly sweet. Also, the whole experience was amazing. I highly recommend Debbie Does Doberge!
