Owner Diane Kittle and her team focus on creating mouth-watering cakes that can be enjoyed by everyone. Diane worked as a professional pastry chef and sugar expert until she discovered that she had celiac disease. This meant that she could no longer work with the ingredients that she had been using for so long. Diane decided to develop her own unique recipes that contained no traces of gluten or dairy. Before long, she had eliminated a range of other allergens from her recipes too. This way she could cater to a larger audience and could share her creations with the gluten/dairy/allergen free community. Diane and her team will arrange an in-depth consultation to get an idea of your unique requirements. From here, they can draw from your inspirations, personality, and wedding themes to craft your bespoke cake. To ease the stress of the day, Dee's One Smart Cookie is happy to deliver your baked masterpiece directly to your event.

The desserts were a big hit at our wedding & we LOVED our wedding cake! So appreciative we were able to have a DF/GF cake for our wedding day decorated with our theme. Very receptive to our needs and made quick changes to our guest counts when we needed to do updates. Flexible with delivery options because our weather for the day almost changed our setup! Cleanup was a breeze & we appreciated having a few days to bring back the catering materials.

As a couple with food allergies, we rely on Dee's One Smart Cookie for our baked goods, and our wedding day was no exception! We have loved Dee's bakery for years and when it came time to choose a baker for our wedding cake we knew it would be Dee's. They were absolutely amazing to work with and the cake came out exactly as we had envisioned! They also provided us with cookies for our late night snack at the reception which were absolutely delicious. Everything was a hit with our guests as well! Everything was perfect and we couldn't be happier! We will continue to go to Dee's for all of our birthday and celebratory needs for years to come!

We used Dee's One Smart Cookie for our wedding cake and wedding cookie bar. It did NOT disappoint! There were a lot of allergies to accommodate and Dee's is perfect for that. Both the cake and cookies were a huge hit for us and our guests! We couldn't recommend them enough for your special events.

My husband LOVES their cake! We ordered a single tier decorated cake to cut and for our diet restricted guests. I looked for other allergen-free bakeries closer to our venue (we drove this cake 1.5 hours) and were striking out. Everywhere else had gluten-free options, but we were too nervous about cross contamination for our celiac guests. Not to mention, Dee's cakes are way better tasting. It was very reasonably priced and very prettily decorated (and no gross fondant). Truly, it was SO worth the slight transportation hassle for our GF, nut free, soy free, and vegan guests to have tasty dessert to eat (and definitely won us some brownie points ;)) I would love if they would have an option for cake tasting!

We discovered Dee's One Smart Cookie almost 7 years ago and fell in love. Fast forward 7 years and they made our wedding cake! They were so kind, patient and responsive during our wedding planning and postponement (due to COVID). Our cake was absolutely perfect and delicious, we can't wait to order our next treat from Dee's!

Dee and her staff were wonderful to work with! My husband and I had to reschedule our wedding four times due to COVID-19, and they were all very flexible and supportive throughout the process. We even switched venue locations! All of our guests raved about the taste and design, not to mention, no one could tell it was allergen-free! I could not recommend this bakery more!

My goodness, I have been gluten free for about 15 years and I have never tasted cake as good as Dee’s. I am beyond thankful we decided to have them make our wedding cake. The cake was absolutely stunning and so delicious. My guests had no idea it was gluten free! I was so sad that I had to cut it! We couldn’t decide on a flavor, so each tier was a different kind. Highly recommend for your next event!

The best desserts I could have ever asked for!!! My wedding was fantastic. They were able to take my idea and make it a reality. It went beyond my expectations. I highly recommend for the most amazing wedding desserts and cake of your dreams. Fast response, easy to work with and top notch delivery. Rescheduled with ease due to pandemic for this summer and I did the dessert buffet!!! People were absolutely floored by the amazing selection and spread. Everyone got to take some home also.

due to my allergies and several gluten free guests we wanted to have gluten free, soy free, peanut free cake. Dee and Jodi worked with us to find the flavor that we loved best and allowed us to mix and match 12 flavors to decide- let's just see we were indecisive but also just really loved the cake! the process was so easy! we told them our vision to have a rustic naked cake that matched our venue. we did a cake for cutting and serving allowing us to save a little bit and to choose multiple flavors. they delivered the cake the day of without a hitch. our guests had no idea that this cake was missing gluten, nuts and soy and we're raving about how amazing and moist the cake was!this was better than any wedding cake I've ever had. it was just as good for the entire next week which we ate until we had no more 😁

Best Cake EVER!!! Our wedding cake was absolutely amazing and we received so many compliments. Not only was the cake beautifully decorated but it was so delicious! I actually ate two pieces at our reception as did my husband! All the cakes and treats we ordered from Dee have been incomparable and we would trust nobody but her with our cake! She and her team are just wonderful and I cannot recommend Dee’s highly enough!

5+++! My husband and I were blown away by the amazing desserts Dee’s One Smart Cookie provided us with for our wedding. We have many food allergies and sensitives in both of our families and Dee’s made it so that all our guests can enjoy dessert! We did a variety of mini desserts – mini cupcakes, cookies, whoopie pies, chipwiches, doughnuts – you name it and Dee’s did it! Many of our guests had NO CLUE that all of the desserts were gluten, nut, dairy, and soy free. They were all raving about them! From day one Dee’s provided us with excellent service, listened to all our needs, and even made last minute add ons/changes. Not to mention, this was all done during one of their busiest times – Easter weekend! All of the desserts were DEE-licious and we were blown away by the presentation. We cannot thank Dee, Jodi, and the rest of the Dee’s staff enough for making our wedding day even sweeter! We would recommend them to anyone – with or without allergies! THANK YOU!!!

We 100% recommend using Dee's One Smart Cookie for your wedding desserts! They made our wedding cake and chocolate-dipped strawberries, and they were beyond delicious!! Working with Dee's was so easy and flawless! We absolutely love them! Our wedding guests could not believe the cake was gluten and dairy free, and told us it was by far the best wedding cake they ever had!!

I am gluten free, lactose intolerant, and have issues with soy but I wanted to enjoy my wedding cake. There were very few places that were dairy free and gluten free. My mother-in-law and I went to two of the places and got samples. Dee’s was by far the best. We then had a girls’ night and tasted several mini cakes and decided to go with the carrot cake (which was what I wanted to start). I received so many compliments on the cake it was insane. No one could believe that it was dairy/gluten/soy/nut free, NO ONE! I even ordered some cake pops for favors for our guests with nut allergies. I am so happy that I found this bakery, not only for my wedding cake, but for everyday snacks. I drove an hour to make each of my payments just so I could get a few snacks with I was in the bakery. Even if you do not have allergies, their cakes are amazing.

In my family we have many gluten free members and we accommodating them by buying a dozen gluten free cupcakes. They are very good tasting and they were able to provide us stickers letting us know which ones were gluten free.

We chose Dee's for our two tier wedding cake with custom decorations, and our dessert display. From the beginning Dee was amazing and brought our vision to life. More importantly the cake, correspondence, and desserts were excellent. Our nut free wedding cake was a hit with our guests and we are still hearing compliments about them. I would use Dee for another event without a second thought!

We used Dee's for our 2nd desert/favors for our guests because we had so many (including the bride) with food allergies. Not only did she provide us with the most tasty little cupcakes, cookies & oatmeal bars, she did this while they were technically closed for the holidays!!!! AMAZING service & DELICIOUS treats!

Being a gluten-free bride is always a challenge. I am not living in the CT area, and planned my wedding from St. Louis, Missouri. I did all of my planning by phone and email, and came home only a few times to meet with vendors. I originally contacted Dee's by email, and was provided all their information about gluten-free wedding cakes. We arranged for a meeting during one of my visits to CT to pick up some trial cakes. The day came, and our cakes were not ready. We were only in the area for two days, so we wouldn't have time to return the next weekend. They quickly put some items together for us to try, but never apologized for their mix-up. We liked what we tasted, and wanted to go ahead an order a cake. This is where we had trouble. I tried calling, and emailing more than once to try and get in touch with someone, and never heard back. I finally got a response from someone FOUR weeks later, and they told me that my SPAM folder was to blame. (This wasn't true - I found out later that the email issue was on their end). Long story short, the cake was delicious, but it was a very difficult vendor to work with. Unfortunately I didn't have many options for gluten-free wedding cakes in the area.

We got our gluten-free top tier cake from this bakery, vanilla cake, raspberry filling and fondant icing. The cake looked EXACTLY like I had shown Dee I wanted it to look and it tasted even better than our sample cakes did. Everything from her bakery is top notch and she was so easy to work with, even with me changing my mind 400 times before the wedding!
