Roger is a truly amazing photographer, not just becuase he takes amazing photos, but the way in which he engages people. He has an uncanny way of remember people's names. He made taking group pictures actually fun by using humor and his vibrant personality to engage us all. Everyone at my wedding commented on how amazing the photographer was that day. His whole team is organized and responsive. I would hands down reccomend Defining Studios for all your photography needs. We are so happy with our photos and the whole experience with Roger.

What can I say except Roger and the whole Defining Studios team exceeded expectations! Planning for a wedding while 600+ miles away is difficult enough, not to mention trying to find and coordinate with vendors. But Roger made it so easy! He was extremely flexible when it came to Skype calls and reassured me the whole way through. The day of was an absolute dream, everything worked out perfectly, he was punctual, friendly, and super funny. My wedding party and guests alike LOVED him and his team and still talk about him to this day. Two of my close friends, who were in the wedding party, are now planning their own weddings. Roger and heather were absolutely amazing to work with! They were great at making both my husband and I smile naturally. We especially loved the picture with my nephews and our flower girl because all of the kids have their natural smiles as well. I knew them from my sister’s wedding 9 years ago as well. My husband and I knew we wanted Defining Studios to capture our wedding day when we met Roger. He was genuine, organized, and light-hearted. His work was beautiful, especially his use of natural lighting and the authentic feel of his pictures. We received many compliments for our engagement and wedding pictures. Our family and wedding guests mentioned that he and Christine were easy-going and fun. They didn’t even realized they were taking pictures. Our package consisted of 2 photographers for 8 hours and we received plenty of pictures. No one was left out. Defining Studios was absolutely AMAZING on our wedding day. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. They were so professional, fun, and wonderful with the young kids in our wedding. We had a VERY large wedding party (15 groomsmen and 12 bridesmaids) and Roger didn't bat an eye. He managed and coordinated the group and had everyone in a great mood. My husband and I were married on August 10, 2019 and a couple days later we already have a beautiful preview of photos that look incredible. We can't wait to see the rest and we know these photos will be cherished forever. Roger has a way about him that makes everyone laugh and feel immediately comfortable. We got so many compliments throughout and after the wedding gushing about how great our photographers were! Roger was an absolute blast to work with and just from our "sneak peak" photos, we are completely blown away by his stellar work! We thoroughly enjoyed working with him and the team. Christine took beautiful engagement photos of us in the fall that we were able to use for our save the dates, wedding website and more. The weather wasn't the best for the day we were originally planning on taking the photos, yet Roger stayed calm and helped guide us into make the best decision and the photos came out perfect! The day of the wedding Christine and Roger arrived for our getting ready photos. I felt at ease working with her and so did my mom and bridesmaids! From the hotel, to the church, a photo stop in between and then the reception - Roger was a blast to work with. He was so fun, made us feel 100% comfortable with him, and captured the most beautiful photos of our day. He even surprised us with a lock with our initials on it for the bridge! All of our guests keep raving about how amazing our photographer was. He was able to take all the photos we wanted and more, while keeping everyone engaged. We had small children attending the wedding, which is hard for large family group photos, yet Roger was able to hold their attention and keep them smiling. Defining studios did a wonderful job as our wedding photographer! They were easy to communicate with even though I lived out of state and we’re easy to work with. The day of roger was very organized and arrived early to scout our venue. Our photos were so so beautiful! Everyone raved about how funny roger was! Highly recommended!

From the moment we met Roger at an Open House for the Pond House Cafe we knew we had to have him photograph our wedding! Roger is very personable and did a great job getting most if not all of the shots I wanted at the wedding (despite me running behind schedule due to transportation). He also went above and beyond at our engagement session and listened to all of my crazy ideas and captured all the moments I wanted perfectly. Two days after our wedding we had over 150 preview photos from the day and we couldn’t have been more excited to see them while away on our honeymoon. We cannot wait to see the rest of the photos in a few weeks. We also recently got our sneak peak video and couldn’t be happier. Roger and Christina did a fabulous job! Not only were they professional and personal they went above and beyond to ensure things went smoothly. They checked out the venue ahead of time as well as the first look location. Roger contacted me to let me know about a few complications we were going to have and offered me suggestions about what to do. Christina did an excellent job capturing me getting ready and getting all the little details. Both of them were great about getting pictures of things of important significance in between taking pictures of us. They are very patient, flexible and fun to work with. Christina had several creative ways for the girls to stand and found awesome locations for the best picture. Roger did a great job gathering people and making people laugh which led to natural smiles. Everyone kept talking about how friendly and energetic they were. We are so happy we got to work with such talented people. They made it so we could enjoy our special day while capturing every moment at the same time. The quality and beauty of the photos are so wonderful! I cannot thank them enough for helping everything go smoothly and capturing every moment from the sunset to the moonlit photos!

Roger and company at Defining Studios are A plus. Roger sat with us to understand what we wanted our wedding to be and how we wanted him to interact with our guests. We didn't want a highly formal process and Roger was great about interacting with guests in a friendly but unobtrusive manner. He is very personable and makes folks feel at ease. The rest of the Defining Studios crew is responsive, professional and friendly. We are very pleased. Oh...and the photography is great. :-)

Where do I even begin..from the very first meeting, Roger helped to ease so much stress and continued to be a great resource throughout my planning process. About a month before my wedding, Heather reached out and said she would not be able to photograph my wedding alongside Roger but immediately put Kevin and Nick on the job and all three of them were outstanding. On the day of the wedding they listened to my wants, offered creative ideas and made everyone feel comfortable. Roger & Christine did an AMAZING job at our wedding. Our guests loved them! Rogers sense of humor pretty much made our day. Early the morning of our wedding he was on location scoping it out and gave me a call to let me know that the sun would be directly in my eyes in my original ceremony spot, he saved the day by suggesting a location just a few hundred feet away from my pick. I couldn’t be any happier with how the photos turned out. Our wedding was just three days ago and a have a sample album with almost 100 photos right now! I truly cannot even begin to express how amazing Defining Studios is. I don’t even know where to begin! From the first day we met Roger, we knew that there was no way we were going to book anyone else. He made us feel completely comfortable and gave us a positive energy from the first day - you will understand when you meet him. Then, the wedding day came and he confirmed exactly what initially drew us to him. Roger was absolutely incredible in every single way. He is clearly so passionate, talented and has such a vision for truly beautiful photos. I was a little bit nervous about the wedding photos because we have recently divorced parents on both sides. However, Roger was so sensitive to this and placed each family member in spots that would avoid conflicts. He kept the mood light and the focus on us, which meant the world to me. He was truly HILARIOUS and became on a first name basis with many of our guests by the end of the night. I am still getting compliments about his personality two weeks after the wedding. The conversations I’ve had with everyone who attended are along the lines of…“Your wedding was beautiful…and that photographer was awesome.” Having such a presence at our wedding AND delivering stunning photos is truly a rare find. Roger’s investment in making our wedding special was one of the main reasons why we had such a wonderful time - I truly credit him for how smoothly the whole experience went. I was amazed to receive an email THREE DAYS after our wedding with a link to our “highlight” photos. These were about 100 of some of the best photos from that day, accessible and downloadable through their website. As I expected, the pictures are absolutely beautiful and captured the mood of our wedding perfectly. I cannot wait to see the rest! I also want to mention that we communicated with Heather frequently throughout the process and she was absolutely amazing as well - she unfortunately had an injury for the day of our wedding, but Christine subbed in as our second shooter. Christine was such a sweet, lovely presence while I was getting ready with my bridesmaids - her pictures came out beautifully. Heather and Roger were both so professional throughout the process that I wasn’t even phased when Heather told me that she couldn’t make it to the wedding - I knew that I would be in great hands no matter what. We also had the videography team at our wedding, and they were just as great - I am beyond excited to receive our trailer. Kevin was awesome and very kind! As you can tell, I can go on about this wonderful team forever, but I’ll stop here. Please book them for ANY event that you have - you will not be disappointed! I certainly will be booking them again in the future. I cannot thank them enough!!

What a fantastic couple! Heather and Roger make you feel like old friends that are invested in getting you what you want on one of the most important days of your life. They discuss options, listen to you, make suggestions based on their experience, and then roll it all together in a package that fits your budget. I don't know how they did it, but they made it work. The team of these two, who have very different photographer styles gives you pictures that you cannot imagine. Candid, artsy, those special moments that hold all the emotion? We got married in August and had the pleasure of working with Heather and Roger for our pictures and Kevin and Adam for our video. Roger has the best personality to bring fun to every snapped picture. When the kids were running away he knew how to grab their attention for a photo. When adults were getting antsy or not listening, he politely got everyone on track so traditional photos could be taken before everyone ran away for cocktail hour. Both Heather and Roger were everywhere at our wedding yet never in the way and so sneaky at getting great candid shots without making us pose for the perfect pic. They worked with us every step of the way leading up to the wedding and made sure we had a list of important photos that they would ensure were taken and shared helpful tips and tricks in wedding planning in general that reached beyond photography and videography. While we've only seen the trailer so far for the video it is everything we'd expect from a trailer. It hints at the main plot ( the wedding!!) and left us drooling for the main video that is still in the works! We highly recommend Defining Photography for your special events. Roger and Heather are amazing and the best!!! They are personable and professional. When we met them at a wedding expo, we knew we wanted them as our photographers. Choosing a photographer should be a hard choice to make, after all they are the ones who will be preserving your memories of hopefully the best day of your life. Luckily for us, we met with Defining Stuidos first. We had already heard great things about them from our venue . As soon as we walked out of the meeting with Roger, one of the owners, we both looked at each-other and said let's book them! During that first meeting, Roger really took the time to learn about us, told us everything they offered and made sure we had all questions answered. We were both shocked at how much time he spent with us (about 2 hours) considering he just had a baby the day before-and was not feeling very well himself. On the day of the wedding they were Fantastic! Heather, his wife and co-owner, came to the venue and photographed the bride and the bridesmaids getting ready. Roger went to the hotel to get the photos of the groom side. They were so accommodating, they got every single picture combination I asked for and trust me they were given multiple pages of combos that I wanted taken. Heather and Roger worked great together, once Heather left for the evening we had Roger for the Reception. He was so much fun. He got all the different groups together. He captured all the silliness and even all the inappropriate stuff because he knew I wanted that. I can't wait to see the pictures when they are done. We also had Kevin video a few hours of our ceremony and reception. We cannot wait to see that. He was a great guy to work with, really made you feel comfortable. I am so glad that we decided to add this on to our package even though everyone told me how fast your wedding day goes by and how much you miss I didn't believe it. It's only been 48 hours since I said I do-and I cannot wait to see the video because I realized I didn't get to take in the whole ceremony. I missed so much because I was so focused on my husband and my vows I didn't see what was going on around me. I cannot wait to see the video. What is even more incredible is that within the first 48 hours of our wedding, we were sent our first look photos, a top 100 or so images from our wedding, with the remaining photos to be delivered within 4-6 weeks. These photos were uploaded to a special website that is password protected, so only our invited guests would be able to see those images. I hate to say it, but I didn’t cry much at my wedding, but looking at the photos that Roger and Heather took made me tear up. Their work is spectacular, and they know exactly how to capture the images that you will treasure for a lifetime. All I have to say is great things about everyone from Defining Studios. Many of our guests also told us how much they enjoyed Roger during the reception. We would book them again in a heartbeat! And so should you!

After meeting Heather and Roger at my best friends wedding and then seeing how great their work was I knew I had to have them for my wedding. We had our engagement photos done with them which came out amazing. Our wedding was this past weekend and everyone was raving about them. It was a real pleasure working with Roger and Heather. From the first time I met Roger and Heather at the Bridal Expo in Hartford I knew I wanted them to be a part of our wedding. Roger and Heather were awesome and came through for us at the last minute! We knew from researching their online portfolios that these two are incredibly talented photographers. What led us to making an immediate decision to hire them during our initial consult was personality! Roger and Heather bring the perfect energy for a celebration. They were such a fun part of our wedding day - they helped us feel relaxed in front of the camera, interacted with our guests, and went above-and-beyond in capturing all of the little moments that occurred throughout the night. We've already referred our friends to them (and will continue doing so for all other engaged couples!) and can't wait to see them this December for another wedding. Oh, and of course, the pictures of our wedding were even better than we expected!

We LOVED working with Roger & Heather! Roger came out and took photos of us and our dogs at our house for our engagement shoot. He did an AWESOME job helping to keep the dogs engaged so that they would sit and "smile" for the camera. We had a unique request for a shot that involved my husband jumping over me on his dirt bike that he absolutely nailed! We got such awesome feedback from our guests since we put that photo on our save the date, I am so happy we used it! The day of the wedding was even better! I had sent R&H a link to my "Wedding Photography" Pinterest page before the wedding and asked if they could pick some from that list for photos of us and our bridal party. Heather actually printed the list and brought it the day of the wedding and checked shots off as we took them. Loved that! They did a great job wrangling in our family and bridal party for photos as well since they were not the easiest group to handle (in my opinion). We did a first look underneath a tree that overlooked a beautiful field. They staged the whole thing and caught such a special moment on camera for us! Since we had our dogs there for the first look and bridal party photos, Roger and Heather managed to get some awesome shots of them as well, which made my husband and I so happy! Less then a week after the wedding, they posted about 75 photos from our wedding onto their FB page. They came out so great and it got me so excited to see the rest! While it took longer to get all our photos back then our contract had stated, it was definitely worth the wait! We received a beautiful wooden box with a photo of us on the cover and an engraved wooden USB was inside. Such a nice touch that sets them apart from other photographers! Without the exceptional service from Defining Studios, our wedding day would not have been captured so perfectly! I cannot wait to hire them again for future photo sessions! LOVE THEM!!!!! Roger and Heather are so amazing and so wonderful to work with. I was so nervous and anxious about the whole wedding day and as soon has heather and Roger arrived, i felt sooo much better. they took control of the timing and where people need to be. They communicated with the DJ and kept everything so organized. And of course.... the pictures are wonderful!!! I am so happy with all of them. They do amazing candid shots and staged pictures. I found Roger and Heather at a wedding expo and from the moment we met, I knew they were going to be awesome to work with. All of our guests thought they were so awesome and they have such great personalities. I originally met Roger and Heather when they did my sister's wedding in 2011. Booking them was probably one of the easiest and most important decisions we made for our big day. The consultation was FUN, and we were immediately comfortable with Roger. They did our Engagement photos in November of 2014 and they were amazing. It was a fun afternoon down at the Nautilus Museum with Roger. When our wedding day came, we knew the pictures were going to be amazing, but we were still blown away by the quality of not only the staged shots but the candid ones as well. My friends and family loved Heather and Roger and I would not hesitate to recommend them to other couples. Now we have to pick pictures to have printed, which seems to be the hardest part since there are so many to choose from!

Defining studios came recommended to us from a family member. After meeting with Roger for a consultation in regards to our wedding, we knew they were going to be our photographers. Roger and Heather are the hardest working and most professional duo you could ever ask for. Their unbelievable attention to detail made our wedding day so much easier. I can't say enough great things about The Defining Photo. I booked Heather and Roger in February for my October wedding. During the planning process, Heather was always available via email to answer my millions of questions, and we met with Roger to talk about the specifcs of the day. They were both a pleasure to work with before and during the wedding. When I was stressing out about a couple of unfinished details in the hours before the wedding, they were there early, reassuring me that they would make sure everything was done the way I wanted it, even though the tasks had nothing to do with photography. After the ceremony, Roger and Heather were efficient, and had locations and pictures planned out in order to maximize the perfect lighting window, which lasts about 15 minutes I never saw them during the reception, but I probably got at least 10 Compliments on how amazing my photographer was! He had everyone laughing and smiling. Even though I didn't see them, they caught every moment, and the pictures really tell the story of my amazing day. The pictures are a wonderful mix of organic yet polished and artistic, which perfectly suits my style. Although I do think that the service was more than I expected to pay, the prices were on par with, or below most of the other photo services we saw. Their sample pictures pushed us over the edge initially, but meeting Roger in person solidified our decision to use Defining Studios. I would certainly recommend them with highest regard to anyone in need of a photographer.

These guys did my wedding in 2011 and since then have provided excellent and consistent customer service and photos of our first son as well! All of our guests raved about the fun and unique photos that Roger and Heather took and they are fun to have as guests at the wedding too! Roger did great organizing a tipsy bridal party for amazing pictures and Heather was even on a ladder on the dance floor at one point! I recommend them for any event, especially one of the most important days of your life- your wedding day! I wouldn't trust anyone else with those memories!

My husband are so lucky to have met Roger & Heather at a Bridal Show 4 years ago. They were such a friendly and fun couple, we knew they fit right in with our crowd at our wedding. My husband and I both wanted someone who didn't force us to take too many posed photos. We wanted really candid, fun, and beautiful photos that would help us relive the day for years and years to come. We never felt awkward or forced while Heather and Roger were taking our photos, they blended in so well with us all. Roger has such a great eye and has given us really incredibly shots that encapsulate our wedding, our relationship, and our family. And Heather puts together the most excellent wedding albums - we even had additional parent albums made up and they were all just superbly done! We trust these two so much, we've even had them photograph our daughter when she was a newborn, at 6 months, and at one year. Just this past month, Heather and Roger were the photographers at my husband's brother's wedding. Again they blended in so well with our family and friends. Heather helped put the Bride at ease and was able to improvise when the weather wasn't agreeing with the Bride's vision. We ended up with beautiful outdoor photos, despite the rain. They made it work with umbrellas and fall foliage - the bride and groom ended up with such uniquely beautiful photos to cherish. Heather & Roger were also able to corral our 18 month old flower girl and get some wonderful family photos of us at the wedding as well. They really handle any obstacle you might throw at them! We still hear from our parents, siblings, and friends how much they loved the photographers and we get asked how we found them all the time. I can not recommend these two enough. You will honestly feel so at ease trusting Heather and Roger with capturing your beautiful day, and maybe even a few more important days in your family's lives after that!!

Roger and Heather were photographers at my best friends wedding two years ago and I saw what a fantastic job they did with hers so I already knew who I wanted to have for my wedding. Both Roger and Heather were so easy to work through the planning process and always responded right back to me to the questions I had. My fiance and I used them for our engagement shoot, wedding and also video for our wedding. My family and I were so pleased on how professional and organized they were. We had a fabulous experience working with Roger & Heather from Defining Studios. From our first meeting Roger helped me and my husband to feel comfortable and know what to expect from wedding photography. They were also willing to modify the packages to best suit our needs (we did not want an engagement photo shoot, we didn't want some other things as well). We were very nervous because I had never done professional photos for anything, but we felt right at ease with them. Close to our wedding Roger called me to go over the entire day, the itinerary, what we wanted photographed, any special requests and a list of family portraits we wanted. It was helpful to know that he was ready with exactly what I wanted and would take the photos I requested. On our day everyone was raving about how friendly and approachable our photographers were and how much fun they were. I loved that they did not interfere with my day, but rather added memories and flowed in the background. I liked that he pulled us out to take photos when the lighting was great, and he had great ideas with the props and setting we had. We ended up with some amazing photos that capture our day beautifully. Even though our timeline was disrupted they went with the flow and were still able to get the photos I wanted without taking me and my husband away too much from our guests. I would highly recommend Defining Studios to anyone looking for a wedding photographer. I got some gorgeous prints and the digital rights to over 800 photos from our special day.

My husband and I used the Defining Photo as our photographers for our wedding this past December and were beyond thrilled with our experience. During our initial meeting with Roger and Heather we were impressed with their professionalism, sense of humor, and loved their vision of how they would capture our wedding. We knew right away they were the photographers for us. In the months prior to the wedding both Roger and Heather were communicative and answered all of our questions and concerns. The day of the wedding Roger was a calming force during what can be an emotional and hectic day. Roger and his second photographer (Heather had just had their twins and was on maternity leave) were unobtrusive during the ceremony yet captured many of the often overlooked moments. Our guests raved about Roger, highlighting his sense of humor. We received a preview of our pictures within days of the wedding and the full portfolio within a few weeks. We love our wedding portfolio and have so many beautiful pictures we still have not been able to narrow down which few to print. We were married on a very hot and humid day in July and everyone appreciated that they kept us indoors or in the shade to escape the heat, yet they still managed to capture all of the beauty of the grounds at our venue in the shots we took outside. During the reception they were everywhere with their cameras, taking photos of all of the guests at the tables, on the dance floor, and even sneaking the camera into the photobooth for some great shots. They were quick to share a sneak peak of the photos on their website and on facebook within a few days of the wedding, and we look forward to receiving the rest of the photos on a jump drive in the near future! All of our guests have been raving about our fun and talented photographers and we completely agree!
