Aesthetically, Deity is one of the most unique and stunning venues in NYC. There are so many interesting features that my guests were in awe of – the beautiful tree with delicate dangling lights smack in the middle of the cocktail lounge, the j...
uxtaposition of stained glass and exposed brick, the large hexagon-shaped bar that helped loads of people get a drink at once, the light and airy ceremony room, the vintage “Brooklyn Love” sign and disco ball in the dance room…every part of this venue is “Instagrammable!” Then, there’s the breathtaking bridal suite – this really sold it for us, because having access to this lounge from 10 AM onward to get ready in and take pictures made the entire day so incredibly joyful and easy! The lounge is beyond gorgeous, with romantic velvet curtains, antique furniture, a fully functional kitchen with a huge island (perfect to serve lunch on while everyone gets ready) and multiple bathrooms. We also had access to the amazing roof deck all day – great views of the Brooklyn skyline, a shaded sitting area, and even a 10x10 spa pool we dipped our feet into. The roof and bridal lounge were absolutely perfect for our bridal party as we got hair and makeup done and took spectacular photos. If you book with Deity, you also get a basic décor package included, which helped us save a lot on decorations and flowers! The décor package includes gorgeous, thin strands of lights, thick asymmetrical candles and a mirror plate that we used as the focal part of our centerpieces, a huge hexagonal arch in the ceremony room that you can put candles and flowers on and get married in front of, all the table cloths/napkins, table assignment numbers, and more. Also included when you book with Deity is the DJ! Regarding food, Deity’s selection of hors d’oeuvres for cocktail hour were fantastic. We went for the lobster po boy, crab cakes, spanakopita, mini Cuban sandwiches, beef tenderloin toasts, and the chicken and waffles (which were TO DIE FOR). For the sit-down dinner, we enjoyed the salmon with cream sauce, short ribs (melt in your mouth!), and a bunch of delicious sides all served family style (which lets your guests try everything and eat even more than a typical plated dinner). The drink service was always spot on and our guests (who REALLY like to party) were able to enjoy as many beverages as they liked thanks to the speedy drink service and waiters who helped deliver drink orders in the dance room. Finally, the staff at Deity (in particular, Caio and our day-of coordinator Anna) are exceptional human beings. They are true professionals who have immense experience with weddings and have this stuff down to a SCIENCE. They know all the details about transitions, timing, how to move your guests from one from to the next – you don’t have to worry about a thing, and our night went off without a hitch! Anna even fixed my hair and helped bustle my dress, made sure our favorite drink was always in hand, and gave us waters every half an hour or so to keep us hydrated! When our florist dropped out last minute, Caio managed the communication with the new florist to make sure they could step up and do the job right, and that really alleviated so much stress for us. These are people who will have your back through and through and take on anything necessary to make sure you can focus on having fun and living in the moment. Do not hesitate to book with Deity - our wedding was a dream come true!!

Deity was such a wonderful venue to hold our wedding at! We loved that there was a dedicated space for each segment of the evening , how many items are included in the total cost (e.g. food, DJ services, tables, chairs, tableware, tablecloths, ...
lighting), and overall how beautiful the space is. The whole team is super friendly and professional, and Caio and Anna made the final planning stages a breeze! We were able to let go and trust that everything would go perfectly. Anna was with us for the entire evening, helping with the rehearsal, fixing my bustle, and making sure we had a few minutes to celebrate on our own before joining the rest of our guests for the party. I'm so glad we held our wedding at Deity!

ed glass windows and beautiful backdrops. We were sold. We booked Deity for our November 2021 wedding before the pandemic and had no idea what to expect once NY shutdown. Thats' where Caio came in. In the months, weeks and days leading up to our wedding he answered every call, every text, every frantic email. He was patient with us even when I am sure we were annoying ( hello neurotic bride over here). He took care of every detail that I didn't even know needed to be addressed. On the day of our wedding Anna was an absolute gem. She made sure my husband and I were taken care and had everything we needed ( including a shot of tequila just before our ceremony ) . The food was impeccable and our guests raved about the amazing cocktail hour . Dr Dhundee killed it - our entire night was just non stop dancing. It is very rare that you meet a vendor and instantly know that they are the one - and that is exactly what happened with Deity. I cannot imagine any other venue for the Brooklyn fairytale of our dreams.

I cannot say enough about how much of a dream come true Deity Events was for our wedding. From our initial informational meetings, to planning, to day-of service, and overall experience (from our perspective AND our guests'), Deity is a clear F...
ive-Star choice across the board. When my husband and I first were looking for a venue, we knew that we wanted to choose a place that captured the unique spirit of Brooklyn, and also offered a convenient and lively experience for our guests. We looked at many venues in the area, and Deity was the clear winner from the first time we toured. It is important to note that most of the staff at Deity have worked there for many years, and it shows in their expertise and happiness with their work. We really connected with their owner, Caio, and events coordinator from our first meeting. They were able to get a clear idea of our vision, and guide us through the planning process seamlessly. In the end, it was even more beautiful and fun-filled than we could have pictured. In addition to the beautiful, unique decor, our guests continued to compliment the quality of food (delicious!) and fun/lively atmosphere long after the wedding. The design of the dance-floor level and skill of the DJ meant that the majority of our guests spent most of the reception on the dance floor :) Lastly, a really important note on the flexibility and humanity of Caio and staff. My husband and I were scheduled to be married in mid-April of 2020...obviously, that was postponed due to COVID. We ended up having to shift the date several times based on the pandemic, and finally were able to celebrate in Summer 2021. The team at Deity kept in contact with us throughout, offering support with our planning, checking in on our health, etc. We couldn't be more happy with the decision to work with Deity, and to commemorate our love there!

enuine and professional people you will meet and someone we sincerely call a friend. Every single detail from the door opening, to guests arriving to our departure at the end of the night was covered without us having to worry about a thing. We were hesitant to pull in a million different vendors and when it came to the food, logistics and venue, all the big points were covered. Our florist, photographer and videographer were welcomed as part of the family and worked seamlessly with the rest of the Deity team. Both my wife and I are sticklers for food and music, and both of these areas were above and beyond what you would anticipate from a typical wedding. The most important part of the day was that we were able to to relax and focus on the experience and the friends around us. All of the 'happenings' behind the scenes were 'unseen,' with the staff taking care of all the details and any issues (none) without us even knowing. Thank goodness we had such great photos to remember the day, because it was an absolute dream and we couldn't have been happier. Thank you again and much love to the Deity family and to Caio!

couples our age don’t typically wed. We finally sucked up any reservations we had when we stumbled across Deity after googling potential wedding venues. Needless to say, It was love at first sight. We first went to see the space in person in August 2020 and left already knowing that it would be the place we’d decide on. Besides the raw beauty of the space, and its attractive non-traditional layout, it was the warm aura of the owner Caio that ultimately swayed our decision. We had a very calm first encounter and he put absolutely no pressure on us to make a decision right away. We felt respected, heard, and comfortable, which is something that no other venue accomplished. Fast forward into 2021, Caio was extremely communicative throughout the entire process and answered every tedious covid related question we had. Our October 2021 wedding was truly a day that we, and our guests, will never forget. We received so many compliments regarding the space, food, drinks, and hospitality. Anna, our day of coordinator, was godsend. Wedding day was the most hectic day we’ve ever experienced, but Anna ensured the timeline and flow of the day went accordingly. I’d re-book and re-do this day in Deity all over again if I could. Even if you’re hesitant after reading this review, I suggest going to see Deity in person, to allow the space to do the persuading for you. Thank you again Caio and the entire Deity staff!

e looking for in an event space. We were also attracted to the all-inclusive nature of the Deity planning experience. Deity handles food, DJ, table linens/flatware/etc. in-house. Planning a wedding can be stressful, but Deity makes it seamless - even through COVID. Throughout the planning process Caio, the owner, was communicative, transparent and flexible. We always felt he had our best interest and the best interest of our guests at heart. We got married in August 2021 and it was everything we dreamed and more. Anna, our day-of coordinator, truly went above and beyond. She ensured that my husband and I had everything we needed (and didn’t know we needed) throughout the day and evening. The food, drinks and service at Deity are truly top notch. We’re still getting compliments from friends and family on how much they enjoyed our wedding. n the same place. The deal breaker was that they handled most of the ceremony/event setup in house - from professional waitstaff, to horderves & main course, to even having the DJ. We only had to bring in the florist and photographer - and since this place is a go-to for a lot of couples the two we selected were already familiar with the space and proceeded to coordinate with Caio, the owner. With the pain of seating charts, invitations, and other tasks having Deity take care of the coordination and other things in house was such a load off of our shoulders and was worth every penny on that alone. We had originally planned to have our wedding in 2020 but the pandemic made us had to reschedule it. Having heard horror stories of venues and other vendors screwing people out of money we were originally nervous about what would happen. But to our relief, Caio was so accommodating and worked with us to schedule a new date - no extra charges or anything! His level of commitment to making sure you have the best evening possible is beyond what I thought was possible - even as we navigated through these horrible times. I have done nothing but sing this place praises since our event. Everything was perfect: the food was some of the best you'll ever have, the DJ was incredibly friendly and could read a room like an expert, and the staff were friendly and beyond accommodating. And the bar next door is open until 5AM and is really cute - they often cater to events from Deity for the after party and are great about it. And to make it even better, it was actually really affordable for a wedding. Like to the point where other people were surprised that was even possible, especially being in Downtown Brooklyn. Make Deity a top consideration for your wedding because my wife and I's was nothing but spectacular. And they'll make your life so much easier on one of the most stressful days of your life. And that is truly priceless.

nd the wedding date, many things changed due to the COVID pandemic. Luckily, working with Caio, the owner of Deity, was a joy. Throughout the planning process, Caio worked with us to make sure that our celebration could go ahead--he was also responsive to emails and worked with us to help us plan the details of our wedding. Deity does everything in house--food, bartenders, tables, linen, flatware and dishes, serving staff, the DJ, wedding planner, and day of wedding coordinator, which meant that we only had to coordinate with Caio instead of multiple parties, which made the process so much easier. Their entire team works together seamlessly to make the wedding a huge success. The space itself is beautiful, it is an intimate venue with exposed brick and has a very Brooklyn vibe. We toured many other Brooklyn venues, but felt that Deity had the best atmosphere and was a great value for the cost. Finally, the day of our wedding went very smoothly. The photographer, florist and dessert catering coordinated with Deity, which meant that we could just enjoy the celebration and spend time with our guests. The staff was very professional and knew what they were doing--they were attentive and had an eye for detail. We mentioned, for example, that one of the guests would arrive a bit later so Deity made sure to put food aside from the dinner. We and our guests loved the space, and especially the effect created by the multiple floors--the dinner, cocktail hour and dancefloor are on three separate floors, meaning the guests who didn’t want to dance could have a quiet conversation in the cocktail area space, and people could circle between the different levels freely. The food was very good, several guests told us how much they liked the appetizers especially. Also, Caio’s estimate regarding the drinks tab was spot on! We loved having our wedding at Deity and would highly recommend it to anyone!!!!

he owner, Caio, he is a genuine partner in event planning, bringing vast experience and tremendous focus to making your celebration meaningful and joyous. Deity's unique layout allows for different vibes on different floors, so if you want to dance, one floor is dedicated to dancing, and if you want to have a conversation, the lounge floor is perfect. The top floor is great for ceremonies and sit down meals, which brings me to Deity's food. They have a terrific chef in charge of the kitchen who can accommodate all sorts of dietary needs, restrictions and desires, all of it delicious. For our daughter's party, we selected a certain number of appetizers and a certain number of main dishes and every single one was fantastic. Plus, throughout the evening, Caio was on hand to manage flow. At one point, I thought we should take a break from dancing and gather everyone for a slideshow my father created. Caio checked the dancefloor, saw that it was cooking and wisely advised me to give it a few more songs before disrupting. That's what I mean about partnership- he's looking out for every guest, making sure they all leave exhilirated from an unforgettably fun evening. And that's exactly what every single person in attendance felt. I can not recommend Deity highly enough.

wedding provided unique and exciting energy at every step of the night. Below, we break down what makes Deity so special: Venue: The venue is unlike any we've ever seen. From the exposed brick, classic "Brooklyn under the stars" vibe in the reception room/dining room, to the magnificent tree that sits uniquely in the middle of the cocktail hour floor and plays nicely off of their octagonal bar, to the stunning rooftop arrangement with an in-ground hot tub, to the picturesque bridal suite that my wife and her party spent the entire day getting ready in, to the dance floor, highlighted by their classic "Brooklyn Love" sign, disco ball, and full-sized mirror in the back, the entire venue screams one-of-a-kind. Within minutes of touring the venue, we knew we had to get married here. Food and Drink: The food at Deity was absolutely excellent. The hour d'ouevres were an absolute hit, and the staff did a great job of keeping things coming. Guests reported that this was one of the most filling and tasty cocktail hours they had ever had. The dinner was also exceptional, providing interesting yet classic options on all types of dinner dishes. Everyone was raving about the culinary experience from start to finish. To top it all off, Deity worked with us to create 3 craft "Cat Cocktails" that was a smash hit at the wedding. The drinks were prepared promptly, they were well-made, and the bar offers a wide array of drinks and brands to choose from. There was never a wait, and everyone drank plentifully during our celebration. Staff: The staff was exceptional. Every person had a smile on their faces, was pleasant, and hard-working to make our night function properly. Caio and Anna have an amazing eye for detail and goes to great lengths to make sure that the little stuff that you do not/should not be thinking about on your special night is taken care of. It's obvious that they hold a wealth of experience. From the bartenders to the servers, everyone went above and beyond. The Party: It was the dance party of the century. Deity provided an absolutely epic DJ, in BenHa Meen, who took us on a journey with our ears, that translated into a night of nonstop movement, sweat, and screaming. For weeks after our wedding, people continued to tell us how amazing Ben was, and how great the music that he chose was. As a professional DJ working with some amazing artists, he really knew how to mix and ride the vibe of the night. Caio: Without a doubt, one of the most influential factors for hosting our wedding at Deity was the owner himself, the legend that is, Caio Dunson. Caio is warm, friendly, accommodating, and professional. With years of experience in this industry and having built Deity from the ground up with his own bare hands, it's obvious that he cared about our day being special just as much, if not more, than we did. This pandemic brought about many challenges, including having to postpone our date, and Caio was there every step of the way, always available on calls, emails, or texts. Please believe me when I say that WE COULD NOT HAVE CHOSEN A BETTER BUSINESS PARTNER, EVENT PLANNER, AND FRIEND, TO HELP US MAKE THIS WEDDING WHAT IT TURNED OUT TO BE. Working with Caio was the best!

Celebrating our big day at Deity was the best decision we made. It is an immensely beautiful venue; each floor has something inviting and charming about it, from the brick walls to the tasteful art and beautiful tree that is on the first floor ...
area. The dance hall floor is massive and has a beautiful sign and very accommodating tables and chairs. All of our guests commented on how beautiful the venue was and distinct and special it looked from all other wedding venues they’ve been too. We certainly feel the same way; there’s something so special about the way it feels compared to your standard banquet/catering hall. If you want your wedding to look unique, this is the place! The food was absolutely fantastic! The hors d'oeuvres for cocktail hour were delicious; our guests were complimenting the chicken and waffle sliders and lobster rolls for days afterwards. The dinner was equally spectacular, the meats came out tender and the sides were plentiful and delicious. There was always enough food ready to go around and refill the family style servings that were on each table. No one walked away hungry after this wedding, that is for sure. The DJ deserves a special mention, as he is included in the venue pricing. This is generally rare and provides an extra service that really takes away the stress of booking that particular vendor. The DJ Ben was spectacular, he played all the songs we asked without fault, and stuck to the types of songs we asked him to play for the entire dance party. Finally, the biggest and best asset this venue has to offer is the owner – Caio and his staff. He is immensely accommodating, communicative and transparent in all aspects of what the venue has to offer and what him and his staff can do for the couple. He stuck with us through all of covid and kept us updated regularly. He is always a phone call or email away for any questions or concerns we had throughout the whole planning process. No question was ever too detailed or complicated for him to deal with. On the wedding day, the staff were very attentive to our needs and ensured the event went off without a hitch. We couldn’t have been happier with how our big day went, and we owe it all to Deity! We cannot recall a single thing that went wrong or left a bad impression during the night. We highly recommend it if you want a unique, beautiful venue with amazing food and service.

Our wedding will be a day we will never forget. The ceremony/dining room set a romantic atmosphere, it was stunning. Caio who is the owner & his team are awesome, they all provided a great show of support throughout the booking process & day. ...
We didn't do a tasting prior to the wedding, I expected the food to be average for catering venues but everyone raved about the food! My wife & I had a chance to meet and compliment the chef in person. The cocktail hour horderves were so delicious. My favorite moment was right when the ceremony ended everyone went down to enjoy cocktail hour, my wife and I stayed back to enjoy an intimate cocktail with each other right after our "I do". The Deity team was extraordinary, I didn't have to worry about anything. They assisted with making sure my bridal bouquet was kept safe & in perfect condition while we enjoyed our time. Our crowd was a little bit of everything, the foodies loved every item on our cocktail list which included chicken & waffles, mini grilled cheese with tomato soup, mini cubans, lamb sliders, lobster rolls & bruschetta. The dancing crowd enjoyed the music and the basement level, they had drinks coming to them all night, and easy access to the restrooms. Everyone loved the multi level venue, each floor was a surprise. We came across a wedding video in 2018 from a same sex couple that was held in Deity, the couple looked so happy and the venue looked so beautiful in the background. We checked on google and looked at the reviews & photos for Deity and were in love with the romantic setting it has with the candles and dim lighting and that big Brooklyn Love sign in the cellar behind the disco ball. We received pricing and after shopping around Deity fit our budget and offered a great deal of help such as a day of coordinator and DJ everything was just so simple and the pricing was very reasonable. We met with a Deity rep to do a walk through of the venue and the same day we couldn't see our wedding anywhere else but Deity. We set our date for November 2020 but then in March 2020 covid happened, with everything up in the air as to employment we were not too sure if to save money or to submit our 2nd payment but Caio was so supportive and understood just like him we were all worried about what was next. We touched base January 2021 and decided to move forward and set our date for June 2021. Choosing Deity as our venue was the best choice we did for our special. The food was delicious, I would love to go back to eat lol, the decor is elegant and modern and in style. The staff are all so lovely, friendly & very attentive. Caio is running such a great establishment. We can't thank the Deity staff enough!

sure it was an amazing day while keeping everyone’s safety at utmost importance. We had frequent emails, phone calls, and meetings throughout the planning process to make sure no detail was left out and that everyone was being accommodated. On the day of, our coordinator Anna also went above and beyond to make sure my husband and I were enjoying ourselves and absolutely mastered our schedule/ timeline. Our families are not easy people to keep on track but Anna did it all flawlessly! Deity is such an amazing venue in that the space is so versatile and diverse you feel like you’re at a different venue with each floor. Thanks to the bridal suite, I didn’t have to stress about where to get ready with my bridal party and then coordinate more travel in time for photos. The rooftop was great for cityscape photos and we even walked around the neighborhood for some great shots. The ceremony space was flipped for dinner and Deity staff made sure transitions to and from floors were seamless. Our guests loved having the lounge space open all night as well as a break from the dance floor. The food was phenomenal. Cocktail hour and dinner were knocked out of the park and our guests had nothing but amazing things to say about the food. Seriously, if we could get our hands on that BBQ chicken recipe we would. Our DJ Ben was also fantastic. One of our deciding factors in choosing Deity was that our package came with a DJ already and Ben did not miss. He kept our friends and families dancing and just a great overall vibe to the night. When initially booking Deity, we were a little concerned about the 2 flights of stairs at the venue but Caio also made sure that our elderly guests were comfortable and received any assistance needed throughout the night which was HUGELY appreciated. On top of it being such an affordable, all-inclusive, prime NYC spot, I cannot recommend Deity enough!

Caio made us feel heard and comfortable. A few weeks later, we met in person at the venue and we knew we chose the right venue and team to help make our wedding dreams come true. We relied heavily on the advice and guidance of the Deity team. They went above and beyond to make recommendations to hotels, local vendors not typically used, coordinate timeline of shipments and overall décor coordination. Their team took a huge weight off with their in-house planning, catering, and music. The day of the wedding. the bridal party arrived to the venue early and we were all in awe of the stunning bridal suite. Being able to get ready at the venue and not having to worry about transportation was perfect. The Ceremony, the floor was stunning, the florist and Deity staff created a whimsical indoor garden with greenery draping across the ceiling and crawling up the windows throughout the room, the aisle was lined with candles that led to the rooms center piece, a beautiful hexagon covered in roses, hand built for our wedding by my now husband. The aroma of the flowers filled the room and was intoxicating, something I will remember always. On the same accord, when the room was turned over for dinner, the table settings were all that I had dreamed and more they made the room feel romantic and warm. The guests were in awe of their ability to turn over the room so quickly and gushed over the attentiveness of the staff. They loved the tray passed Hors D’oeuvres during cocktail hour and the family style dinner. During the reception, they enjoyed the drinks to order versus a bar, it kept the guest engaged in the party versus crowding around a bar. Words can’t express how grateful I am to Caio and the Deity team. Deity did so many little things leading up to our wedding day to make it perfect. I highly recommend them for any of your events, you will not be disappointed.

u need for your big day. Shortly after getting engaged I reached out and got in touch with Caio who was happy to accommodate our small 50 person wedding. Every vendor they recommended was equally as wonderful for the booking process and I was basically done planning my wedding in a couple months! Enter 2020- as soon as Covid hit (an event planner myself) knew that this was not something that would pass quickly and I had no intentions of postponing my October dream wedding. Caio was on board from the beginning that we would do whatever it takes to make the wedding happen! He was so attentive and quick to respond to all of my concerns and adapting plans for the big day as regulations constantly changed (at one point we were going to do a rooftop party!) Thankfully, NYC allowed indoor dining 10 days before our wedding so we went full speed ahead with a Covid safe plan to do our indoor wedding. We ended up deciding against dancing as it is difficult to do socially distanced, and it ended up making our night even more perfect with an additional cocktail hour in the lounge space to spend time with friends and family. Once the big day came, everything came together perfectly. Thanks to Caio for recommending the BEST vendors you could imagine, literally picking up our cake for us, and being there to answer every little question I had and to pay special attention to every detail I planned. Our family and friends can't stop telling us about how it was the most amazing wedding they had ever been to! Our day far exceeded our expectations and I give all credit to Caio and our vendors. Thank you thank you! Book your wedding at Deity, you will be in the best hands in the industry and have the best day of your life!

ke any other venue in the NY/NJ area. We felt how special the venue was when we first met Caio. Caio took our concerns seriously. We knew that we wanted an intimate ceremony, plentiful food, and a well-stocked bar. Caio made sure our opinions were validated and completely reassured us every step of the way. After signing the contract, Caio was easily accessible by email and phone whenever we needed him. He was always straightforward, transparent, and trustworthy. Caio and his team handled all the little things leading up to the wedding and during the wedding, with ease and like pros. Truthfully, Caio stressed that his team was experienced when we first signed our contract but we did not appreciate that until after our wedding when we reflected how effortless the wedding was. After you sign the contract, they basically take care of the rest. They did a great job of shuttling guests between floors. They got the food out swiftly, enabling everyone to eat at the same time. The food was excellent and plentiful. We had a few guests who kept Kosher or were vegan and they handled everything related to the special meals with ease. They also paid special attention to one of our elderly guests, making sure that she could change floors along with the rest of the party and helping her every step of the way. They turned our ceremony decorations into table decorations without us even asking and beautifully displayed our dessert buffet, taking the initiative to cut the donuts in half so guests could try all of the desserts. Caio’s DJ, DJ Ben Hameen, was excellent, and he took our recommendations and “no play list” seriously. At the end of the night, they helped us pack everything up and we were able to pick up the bulk items the next day. Months after the wedding is over, we still have guests telling us how wonderful the food, venue, and music was, and that they’ve never been to a wedding like it before. We also highly recommend getting the suite, for both the bridal party to get ready and also for some great photos. We’re so glad we picked Caio and Deity to have our wedding and we cannot recommend them enough. Caio became part of our family, and we are so glad that we put our trust in him for our special day. There are a number of stairs, we were worried about my Nana but she felt so taken care of, they helped her every step of the way. The food, was unbelievable, and they always made sure we ate. place run smoothly, professionally, and joyfully. I cannot tell you how many texts, emails, and voicemails we received afterwards telling us this was the best wedding they've ever been to. How fun it was. How the layout made it so cool and extra special. They loved that dancing was separate, making that portion a real party. And for the guests who don't really want to be out there dancing, they still felt like they were a part of it since the tables are right there in the action. It was a dream. Also, you will LOVE your experience at Deity as much as your guests did! A few more specifics about our day, as I know I read all these reviews in detail when deciding; we started the day in the Suite getting ready, which was such a beautiful landing space to have. It is GORGEOUS and just makes you feel luxurious and taken care of immediately. The staff were checking in all day or answering texts about tiny questions. And it was so nice to be whisked away up there at various points in the night for some connection time between you alone as a couple. I think this aspect is something that sets Deity completely apart. On the night of your event you are given TWO coordinators who are pretty much just there for you. They keep track of timing and where you two need to be at any point in the night and just allowed us to be more fully present in every moment, not worrying over "what time is it? is xyz happening?" At any moment I had a question or a thought, they were two steps ahead of me and I relaxed all the more, breathing a deep sigh of relief and gratitude. Beyond these two amazing coordinators, there's the whole rest of the staff, who are also so kind, considerate, and on top of every little thing. We had two people who were in a wheelchair or walker. This was something that caused us a lot of concern beforehand, but Caio assured us they knew exactly how to handle it and to not worry. And man were they right. With grace, poise, and open hearts, they maneuvered the wheelchair over various steps, aided with the chair lift, and went above and beyond when at the start of dancing, our wheelchair bound uncle couldn't get a cab as it was New Year's Eve, and the bartender himself walked them to the hotel! When we heard of this the next morning, we teared up. It was that level of kindness and consideration at every point, big and small, that sets this venue apart from all the rest. The food and drinks were plentiful and absolutely delicious (the salmon and short ribs are to die for) and kept us happy dancing into the night. Not to mention the GORGEOUS interior and design on every floor. I loved it from the first time I set eyes on the place, and every guest commented how cool, unique, fun, and well-done our wedding was. This was because of the team at Deity, not us. ; )

all-things wedding planning and hep paved the way for us to have an unforgettable experience. Making a perfect seating chart was one of our hardest tasks – Caio’s suggestions and floorplans along the way were invaluable. Melissa and Ana led the show on the night of our wedding. Ana was my personal attendant and kept bringing me water or whatever I asked for. Both Ana and Melissa were very attentive and even anticipated all my needs in advance! Ana even bustled my dress! Melissa and Ana certainly are experts in making weddings go smoothly! At the end of the evening, they gathered all our belongings, so it was easy to grab everything together when leaving. Our planning meeting in advance was with Melissa. We had some homework both before and after to figure out all the details. Whatever we wanted— Deity made it happen. We did our tasting the same night as the planning meeting. The food at the tasting was excellent—I’m glad I enjoyed it since I didn’t eat a lot on the wedding night! It’s definitely worth doing the tasting to compare options. Food quality was very important for us and we were very happy with how everything turned out. For the hor d’oerves, we selected: lemongrass shrimp, salmon poke, beef tenderloin toast, spanakopita, crab cakes and bruschetta. For dinner, we selected: mozzarella salad, green beans, orzo pilaf, NY strip and seared tuna. (We paid a bit extra per guest for two premium entrees.) All the hor d’oerves were delicious! My favorites were the beef tenderloin toast and spanakopita. (In the tasting, we tried the sliders, but preferred the toast) The salmon poke was notably delicious! As for entrees, the NY Strip with the mushrooms was delicious! It was my favorite, but my husband loved the seared tuna even more. In terms of quantity, there was plenty of food. Deity coordinated vegetarian and kosher meals for us and had backup vegetarian options on hand. The space at Deity is beautiful. The Loft (for room the ceremony and then dinner) —with the exposed brick, lights, and candles—is just stunning. (Having candles as centerpieces means costs savings, not spending as much on flowers for tables.) It was the perfect urban chic look we wanted. The Lounge (main floor for guests upon arrival and cocktail hour) has beautiful stained-glass windows, is soundproof, and is just a beautiful room. The open concept of having the party flow between floors works well. The staff brought people up and down seamlessly. We had a string quartet for the ceremony, which was great. Then Ben was the DJ for dancing. He did a great job playing the Hora music we picked out, and everyone loved dancing through the night...the dance floor and cellar space were intimate and perfect for us! We picked out our own dessert from a local bakery, and Deity served it during the dance party, which was also managed seamlessly. We were thrilled with our wedding at Deity!!

Caio was a master at keeping things flowing throughout the night-bringing adults and kids together and apart as we all moved seamlessly from floor to floor, for the service, dinner, dancing, candle lighting, montage and dessert. The adults were able to join the kids downstairs when they wanted to and retreat to calm and quiet upstairs, as desired. The food was delicious! Throughout the night our guests kept commenting about how good the food was and how lovely the folks at Deity were. We had a mixture of people with dietary restrictions and food allergies and Caio and his chef were very accommodating. The last thing I want to say was how mindful Caio and his team were to make sure that kids left safely at the end of the night. His staff remained outside making sure kids were picked up by an adult. I had some reservations, initially, about the space but at the end of the night I can only sing the praise of Caio, his staff and the space, itself! They truly helped to make a very special night into an unforgettable event that our family will cherish forever!

n to for so many reasons. First, This wasn't a wedding but a Bar/Bat Mitzvah which is arguably a much harder event to pull off. The older people/parents are just not into what the kids are into. They want to talk with great food and good acoustics and excellent cocktails. Deity made all of this happen ten fold. BUT they also want to party albeit briefly, and that is something that's totally special about this space. You can separate the people you hate from the people you like, LOL. The kids were in heaven because they basically had their own party. Everyone has a family member that needs help, the stairs are daunting for some, but Ciao literally stood next to my 87 year old mom and made sure she could navigate without an issue. This is important so the host doesn't have to worry that someone is going to die Seriously, I met with Ciao and his team several times through the planning and he bent over backwards to meet my schedule and be there for all my questions. And I might add that even if you think you're being crazy with the questions, he has heard them all and stays chill and very positive which was needed for sure. The food is excellent and the service seriously top notch. I ran events like the after party at the Emmy's and this was as polished and great. I can't say enough great things. And it's totally beautiful. If you like things that are going to make an impression, That are not cookie cutter where many generations of friends will be comfortable, this is your place. I stand by it. This was a year of many parties for my kids and theirs stood out as unique, beautiful, delicious and very New York. Cheers to a great party. Superb staff. The owner understands how important and expensive it is to host a great event and let’s you feel that you don’t need a party planner. And I didn’t mention that you really don’t need much, if any decorations because the candles and twinkly lights sort of due the trick.

xecuted was beyond my dreams. I took a lot of time with all the DIY projects and Melissa + team made it especially special. No detail was over looked and it was put together better than I could ever have staged it myself, The Suite! oh the Suite! of course the suite was amazing, but we loved how it also was the space for our families to congregate before the ceremony. All of the bridal party were pretty comfortable, and I felt like a queen. Although we wanted photos on the rooftop, fate had it that we were to enjoy the suite even more as a photo back drop, and we will cherish those moments now forever in the wedding photos. The Ceremony space /Cocktail hour + The Dinner That day was the day we became husband and wife and the sunlight and decorations all exuded the feeling we had! I/we loved EVERYTHING!!!! You guys KNOW what you are doing! It just was simply beautiful!!!! I LOVED how the center piece ideas all came together the hue of the wedding CAME TO LIFE! The food was so delicious! The chicken was tasty and the sirloin was tender! We ate at dinner and also later in the suite! There was so much food. We really felt regal!!!! Our families were having such a good time that, the speech portion got competitive in the most humorous way, but we appreciated how Melissa and Anna, just rolled with it! it was way more speeches than we expected too :). Dance/ Party/ Announcement/and The MUSIC The music WAS LIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG Benha is the bomb.com... and we mean that ish!!! He read us as a couple and hit everything on the nail musically! Our entire wedding had such a good time on the dance floor. I could NOT stop dancing! Scott is not a huge dancer, but when he met me in our earlier days, and when ever there's good music, he knew to find me on the dance floor! Thank you Benha for making the music so good that I never wanted to sit down and my 70 year old daddy never wanted to leave (as he so claimed earlier)! We had the best time of our LIVES! I don't know when I will be able to dance like that again. We also want to shot out Anna for bustling my DRESS! She did that within seconds and it looked way better than what the fitter told us to do! Talk about going the EXTRA mile....The extra mile, Anna did everything from bringing us kid friendly appetizers, and all the way down to drying our daughter Melanie's wet sneakers, and as well as standing in solidarity with me about NOT going to the rooftop after the rainfall, to avoid wetting my dress even though the videographer was VERY persistent. Those special touches made the day very special! To our bartender Karl, we really appreciated the great drinks that were flowing, and also for making sure my baby nephew had his bottle filled with milk at any given moment! Appreciation all around! I have to say Caio, this experience was more than just getting married in a beautiful venue. Your staff, made us feel like family at every turn and was there to attend to every single need. My nephew got pizza sauce on my veil and all I remember was both Anna and Karl, cleaning it within seconds with club soda! Your staff is impeccable and what you all do on a weekly basis is very special! You have the ability to make married couples feel that they are the kings and queens of their special day! Forever grateful, Jade and Scott!!!! 6-2-2019

ef Kary Kippins, whose talent is still the talk of our family and friends. I work in the service industry and as such do many of our guests, and we were all impressed by everything that came out of the kitchen. Our DJ Ben who, by the way, is an actual DJ and not a guy with an iPod, made our dance party killer. It was really cool to have a talent like Ben as a part of our night: it's obvious he can do so much more than spin at weddings but was great at that nonetheless. The Deity crew helped us plan from beginning to end and were always responsive, patient and excited for us. The space is as beautiful as you see in pictures if not more. Highly recommend renting the bridal suite as well: we didn't stay overnight because we live nearby, but it was a great (and spacious) place for our wedding parties to hang during the day and take pictures before the ceremony. Caio made sure we were fully stocked with beer and our photographers had easy access to the roof for our group photos and first look. It's a really beautiful space and it's well worth it! I almost wish we had an excuse to throw another party there. We can't recommend/thank Deity enough.

end of September and wanted a March wedding. With such a short engagement I was worried we would not find the right place, but Deity came through for us in such an incredible way. We booked a tour in November and as soon as I entered the ceremony space I gasped at how beautiful the space is. This is when I knew we had to pick this location. The email exchanges were so professional and the staff answered every single question I had. This being such a big moment in my life, you can just imagine all of the things that rush through your mind, but each email response reassured me everything was going to work out. I met with Caio for a planning meeting in February and he was able to accommodate my vegan diet and made some delicious suggestions for the rest of my guests. We hosted a wedding for only 72 guests including my husband and I and everything was perfect. Caio was kind enough to allow me to drop off wedding decor the day before so that I would not have to worry about it. I can't thank you enough Caio for making this experience so fun and stress-free. As the wedding day approached, I emailed back and forth with Melissa to iron out all of the day of details and she assured me everything would be beautiful. When I arrived to the venue, oh my goodness. I was blown away. The backdrop we used was set up perfectly and from the moment I stepped into the venue, I was treated like a queen. After the ceremony, Melissa and Anna (the second day of coordinator who was incredibly helpful as well) made sure my husband and I had a moment to ourselves with the hors d'oeuvres that were being served. Thank goodness because once we joined our guests, we were so busy chatting that we would not have had a chance to eat. Thank you, Melissa. The guests raved about how good the food was and how much fun they were having. Even though we were running behind schedule, Melissa and Anna did not rush us or even let us know we were running behind. They were so calm and kept checking in on us throughout the night. Again, my guests all said the venue was beautiful and the atmosphere was full of love and peace. I can't say enough good things about my experience at Deity. I wish I could go back in time and do it all over again. Thank you Caio and the Deity team, you made my wedding dreams come true. I wish you continued success and doing the same for future couples.

The multi-floor layout creates a useful division between phases of the wedding, and was very conducive to get everyone out on the dance floor. We ended up renting the suite and staying there on our wedding night, and it is one of the most stunning rooms I've ever stayed in. Glad we decided to splurge for it. us on some "non-traditional" touches - including separate entrances before our first dance. DJ BenHaMeen was so laid back in our conference call that we feared he wouldn't be able to "get" our vision for the music - but he truly went above and beyond to create the perfect party for our family and friends. He is cool and kindhearted, and he hit us with a remix of "Shallow" that I can't get out of my head. I would agree with previous reviews that if you want to have control of every element of your wedding regarding decor and menu, this may not be the space for you -- however, I was so grateful to be able to relax and let someone else handle those tiny details that ultimately didn't matter as much as having a great time with my wife and our loved ones. So we have been officially married for 3 whole days and I’m sitting on a lounge chair in the middle of the Bahamas on my honeymoon, writing a review for Deity because for the last 3 days my husband and I cannot stop raving about what an amazing...
experience our wedding was. It all began when we first got engaged and I wanted a totally different experience. I didn’t want to get married in a wedding factory style venue. In fact, I looked at two other empty spaces and spoke to a wedding planner, who very honestly said that both her services and the wedding of my dreams, was out of my price range. She then recommended Deity, where I had already made an appointment to see after a quick search for Brooklyn venues. I brought my very skeptical mother to scout out Deity. After touring the venue, my mom wanted me to book that same day. Deity is magical. Deity is where you get married if you want a truly unique wedding, under the care of absolute professionals, where you won’t need to worry about food, a DJ, decor, or a place to stay for the wedding night. My wedding day went so smoothly and I only had to yell once (at my own family members of course). I was expecting pure chaos on the day of my wedding— forewarned by my friends who had recently gotten married at other locations, but everything went off without a hitch. I have Melissa and Ana to thank for that, who acted as my day of coordinator and bridal attendant. They were amazing and were always one step ahead of my husband and I. Melissa and Ana had a plan to address anything we thought of the day of the wedding. Our guests were absolutely in love with the venue, both appearance and service. Our biggest concern going into the big day was food. Having gone to weddings where the food wasn’t great, we knew that our guests would remember the food. Several people came up to us the night of, to tell us how great the food had been. We can probably write for days about everything that went right with Deity, but we will end this by saying that the wedding of your dreams does not have to cost you your entire life savings. In fact, it’s probably in a historic building in downtown Brooklyn.

Hi everyone! My wife and I got married in October 2018 at Deity, and to be perfectly honest, it was a DREAM COME TRUE. We were initially drawn to the venue by its unique features and the fact that it didn't have that traditional wedding venue...
vibe, but more of a rustic/contemporary feel in a more intimate setting. It was the first venue we saw in person and we booked it right away. We loved the fact that the prices were available and all-inclusive right up front. Caio was very responsive with any questions/concerns we brought up. We had a planning a month prior to our wedding with Caio and Melissa, who would be our coordinator for the big day, and mapped out the entire day of our wedding. Looking back on our actual wedding day, it was spectacular and we truly have Deity to thank for that. The staff of Deity were so on point and made sure my wife and I had everything we could ever need or want. Melissa had everything down to a T and worked endlessly with the rest of the staff to keep the day running as smoothly as possible. They did not forget the little things we spoke about during our planning meeting and while they definitely attended to the needs of our guests, they truly made the day about us, which we appreciated beyond measure. The venue consists of three main floors but it's really five if you count the bridal suite and the rooftop. The roof is where we did our first look and our bridal party photos which came out beautifully and has that city wedding backdrop. We booked the bridal suite both for before the wedding and for the night of, which we definitely recommend if you can. The suite itself is gorgeous, spacious and fully functional for getting ready. It even had a partition so that my wife and I could get ready with our bridal parties and not see each other. We each had six bridesmaids, our mothers, MUA and hair stylists with us too just to give you an idea of how big the space truly is. There's multiple bathrooms, a fully functional kitchen, multiple beds and seating. They gave us full reign of the suite and even keys for our overnight stay incase we wanted to go to an after party. Now. Let. Me. Tell. You. About. The. Food. DELICIOUS! They have a variety of cuisine and plenty of options to choose from. We did a tasting before hand, but honestly you don't even have to because EVERYTHING is so good. They take into account special dietary preferences and that's also part of the planning meeting which is pretty cool. We went with a family style dinner which our guests to this day still talk about. The passed food and stationary platters during cocktail hour were a big hit as well. Deity made sure we had our own spread of cocktail food and our own dinner spread. Now about the drinks- we went with specialty cocktails in addition to a fully functioning bar. Again, a big hit with our guests (especially their moscow mules). We used some vendors they recommended on their website including Le Image photography, Opalia flowers and our officiant Rev. Samora. We highly recommend them all, especially because they work so often with the venue which makes their role in the big day seamless. Planning a wedding and choosing where to have it is a big decision, but choosing Deity was the best decision we could have made and would be our same choice if we had to do it all over again. We cannot thank them enough for their HUGE part in the best day of our lives!

We had THE most amazing wedding in September 2018 and give Deity ALL the credit. We cannot rave enough about this place. Caio and his team exceeded our highest expectations and we have Z-E-R-O regrets. From setting up our appointment to check ...
out the venue, Haley and Caio were incredibly responsive and answered all of our questions thoughtfully & convincingly (and we had a lot of questions...). This was actually the only venue we checked out. We appreciated the all-inclusive concept and the fact that they were very transparent about their pricing. Is it the cheapest venue you'll find in the NYC area? No, but the quality of the experience (and therefore low stress level) makes the pricing totally worth every penny. 1. The service - Caio, Christian and Natalia were amazing. Their team is truly a well-oiled machine. The staff have been working with eachother and at the venue for years - this is very apparent (we've been to weddings where this is noticeably not the case aka they clearly don't care about the guests' experience). The Deity staff took care of us and our guests all night - our guests (including the bride's difficult-to-please mother) consistently commented that the staff was amazing, efficient and friendly. We were truly able to enjoy our own wedding. 2. The food - is amazing. Our guests consistently said it was some of the best wedding food they've had. They thought it was catered from a restaurant! You don't need to do the tasting (we didn't)...just order the NY Strip and Tuna - you won't regret it. 3. DJ Eno - honestly one of our biggest concerns was that we wouldn't be satisfied with the DJ Deity assigns us (and we'd be stuck with him/her). DJ Eno was the bomb. On our phone call, we had a hard time articulating what type of songs we wanted for the dance floor but he asked good questions and truly nailed it the night of. We had guests who didn't leave the dance floor the entire night! We would hire him again in a heartbeat. 4. The venue - we loved the unique look and it really embodies "Brooklyn." One thing we didn't initially love - the venue is separated by several floors and requires walking up and down flights of stairs (which we thought our guests would complain about). It ended up being a non-issue and people actually commented that they loved the flow of the entire night. One thing in particular we didn't like at first was that the dance floor is in the cellar, separate from the dining area (like most traditional weddings). However, this ended up being a HUGE hit. Our guests loved this unique feature and had a blast. Separately, the venue's string lights and the candles they provide are more than enough decor so we didn't do any floral arrangements (which saved us thousands of dollars). We just got rose petals for the tabletops and aisle, but think we could've even done without. 5. They allow dogs - our beloved dog got to be part of our ceremony which made our day even more special

We hosted our son's bar mitzvah at Deity and we could not have been happier with how everything went. First of all, the space is so beautiful that we did not have to spend any money decorating it. It is very hard to find a full service venue ...
these days where you don't have to rent everything that goes into the space- Deity has everything you could possibly want or need, and it is all included in the price, which makes planning so much easier. Second, the food is absolutely delicious (our guests all raved about it). Third, the staff is truly incredible. From beginning to end we did not have to stress about any of the details as they took care of everything. As someone with a more than full time job, I really appreciated not having to worry about planning every detail because the staff at Deity was so on top of it and guided us through the whole process. The staff could not have been more kind and professional in helping us deal with a medical emergency in the middle of our party. The staff made sure we got the medical assistance we needed for the guest while making sure the rest of our guests (and in particular the bar mitzvah boy) were still enjoying the party (the fact that Deity has several floors made that easier too as the guests could continue to have fun on one level while we were attending to the guest who needed help on the other level). It was a difficult situation and they could not have handled it better. I cannot recommend Deity highly enough.

I can't say enough about the Deity staff! First off, Caio, the owner, was awesome and totally put me at ease. I'd decided to DIY some decorations and a candy/dessert bar for my wedding, and I was so nervous about just how much stuff it all came...
out to be. He let me drop it all off the day before, but I was sure he was going to say it was way too much and it would be too complicated or something. Not at all! He helped unload the car and had such a positive, "can-do" attitude about it all, and kept telling me not to worry, that they would handle all of it. I was so, so grateful. As for the day of, my husband and I were treated like royalty! I'd forgotten my drink at the dinner table, and realized it as I was about to head downstairs. Caio heard me mentioning it, and by the time I'd gotten to the end of the stairs, another drink was already waiting for me. I also have to rave about our day coordinator, Anna. She was absolutely amazing. She saw when I was getting kind of overwhelmed and told everyone she needed the bride, and brought me into the bathroom, handed me some wipes, my chapstick that she somehow knew to ask my sister for, and some water, and just told me to take a minute to breathe. She kind of stood guard over me when I finally had a minute to sit down, right before the bouquet toss, to make sure I had a moment to relax. She even fixed my hair when it kept falling down, and offered me her scrunchie at the end of the night! Seriously, the Deity staff is absolutely phenomenal, and I couldn't recommend them enough.

We got married at Deity July 2018 and I've been reliving the day in my head ever since! We looked at over a dozen venues before finally finding Deity, and it felt like SUCH a relief to have discovered a place that was beautiful, one-of-a-kind (...
so different than both the cookie-cutter banquet hall places and the bare-bones open space type places all over Brooklyn), and affordable. In no particular order, here are some of the major details we loved about Deity: the all-inclusive contract (food, alcohol, DJ, day of coordinator, basic decor, AND tips); the excellent communication and flexibility with planning leading up to the wedding (e.g. when I was like, surprise, the wedding is in a week and I just got a florist and he needs to come in hours before set-up is supposed to start, they were completely accommodating); the built-in decor that meant we only need a tiny amount of additions to make our Pinterest dreams a reality; the fantastic DJ (DJ Trauma aka Jamal); the unique set-up across multiple very different floors; the day-of-coordination that ensured everything happened smoothly and with minimal stress; the ability to do a standing dinner with heavy passed hors d'oeuvres, which made the whole evening feel way more fun and free-flowing than a traditional seated dinner; and the fantastic owners and staff (e.g. Caio, the owner, personally messaged me after we had already left the next day to let me know we had forgotten something, and our coordinator Anya corralled our parents before the speeches, made sure our friends' instruments were safe, and hyped us up as we nervously practiced our first dance). There are a few things to keep in mind, of course. This isn't the venue for super type-A couples: since it's all-inclusive, you're not going to be picking out the color of the napkins, for instance, and we realized after the fact that some of the food served during the wedding was actually different than (and not quite as good as) what we had selected for our menu. We also chose to add their wedding suite to our package, and it is truly a beautiful and super convenient space, but it is also quite expensive. Overall, though, we had one of the best days of our lives at Deity and it will forever be a special place for us. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to any of our friends--in fact, I sincerely hope that someone we know gets married there, too, so we get to attend another fabulous Deity wedding!

for our vision of a DIY boho chic wedding. The warm brick walls, the lighting and the tree in the reception space set the tone of the day. We wanted something uniquely Brooklyn but within our price point. The loft where the wedding was held was decorated very nicely and provided the perfect backdrop for the DIY wedding arch made by my wife's family. After the ceremony, everyone went downstairs for the reception. The staff thought of everything. For about 15 minutes after the ceremony, they served us samples of the reception food and we had a private toast just for us. Dinner...WOW! The space was completely transformed for dinner. It was absolutely perfect. After dinner we went downstairs to the cellar for the best part. Dancing! The cellar had great acoustics. At first I worried that it would be took dark for photos, but I was wrong. There was a perfect amount of light and the set up of the cake and dessert table was great. The food provided by Deity's and their chef was amazing! I fully expected to experience intense stress levels throughout our entire wedding day, and kept saying how I wished I could attend my own wedding just to enjoy it! Well fortunately, everything functioned so smoothly that we were able to relish in every moment. The Deity staff are super professional, and seemed to have thought of it all. Since our wedding, guests have routinely approached us complimenting the food as the “best wedding food they’ve ever had,” gushing about the amazing DJ (we worked with Jamal), and praising the beautiful venue. We fell in love with the space at Deity immediately, and felt it offered the perfect Brooklyn charm we were looking for. We didn’t feel a need for extra DIY decorations, or major floral arrangements. The environment was clean, chic, and romantic as-is. We can’t say enough good things about the DJ, Jamal, who played the most on-point tracks for our crowd throughout the evening. I was astonished to see how many people remained at the end of the night, still partying and enjoying the dance floor. Food and drink service throughout the evening was wonderful. The entire staff was always on top of things, and never seemed to miss a beat. All in all we are so happy we chose to have our wedding at Deity, and can’t thank the team enough. My husband and I cannot recommend Deity highly enough. Aside from being a phenomenal, beautiful venue with wonderful food and staff, their willingness to go the extra mile and to really listen and assist with what we wanted for our wedding made...
all the difference. They are willing to work with you (within the realm of reason) above and beyond virtually every other venue that we considered. The planner that we started the process with ended up leaving and we were fortunate enough to work directly with the owner, Caio. We were treated like royalty from day one. The fact that food, drink, DJ and so many other aspects of the wedding came included in the venue package made it so much easier to plan a wedding (particularly as we both have full time jobs). They have their system, which in my mind works flawlessly, but they’re more than happy to accommodate couples and families wanting to customize in order to bring their wedding vision to life. If you want to pull out all the stops and do everything yourself, they make it as easy as possible for you to do that. On the flip side, if you don’t want to worry about anything and are looking to hand things off to a professional, they’ve got it in hand. This goes for food, drink, decor, day of coordination and virtually everything else that you can think of. Their bridal suite is one of the most stunning rooms I have ever seen and it was a breathtaking place to get ready, full of natural light even in early February. The venue is so aesthetically stunning that even our most critical guests were blown away by every room. I wish we had spent more time in the lounge and if you aren’t big into dancing, the dance floor is on a separate floor (which is something to take into consideration). I could continue raving about everything to do with this venue all day, but I’ll just end with this: I do not have a single negative comment about this venue or the individuals working there. If this venue works for your vision and group size, it might be the best decision you can make for your big day.

ith us during the planning process to accommodate all of our wishes such as signature drinks and even the type of chairs used. The staff was great and really helpful the day of. Ana, in particular, was absolutely amazing. She remained calm throughout all of the chaos and guided us every step of the way. My only critique would be that the cocktail hour and dinner menu differed from the selections we made. The food was all good, but we spent quite a bit of money on the tasting and a lot of time making menus that didn't match what was served. Also, note that the wedding package is inclusive of most tips, but the DJ tip is separate from this. Overall, Deity was beautiful and a great choice. We would absolutely pick it again!

sive thing about Deity was how they handled everything that didn't smoothly. There were so many details that went wrong and they fixed it all without stressing us out. When our florist neglected to decorate the cake like they were supposed to, the team at Deity went above and beyond to make it happen and it looked amazing. We also were impressed with how well the staff accommodated everyone. They made sure that the older guests got on the stairlift before the crowds went up the stairs and that the kids' table got French fries. They provided a vegetable/pasta dish for the vegetarians that looked as good as the meat dishes. The older guests (and parents of tired children) really appreciated having the ground floor/bar area as a quieter alternative to dancing. Being able to have the whole day (getting ready, photos, ceremony, reception) in one building really cut down on planning and stress levels and also turned out to be very economical (no need to hire transportation). A huge thank you to James and Caio and the whole team for everything they did from our initial tour to the big day. We couldn't have asked for better.

f handled the transitions from one part of the evening to the next. Every staff member we encountered was incredibly professional, thoughtful, and friendly. A nice consequence of the layout, we found, is that the dinner and dancing portions of the evening are truly separate. That means that dinner is not rushed and your half-eaten plate is not taken away because you left for a dance. People who want a break from dancing (or old folks who want to chill) can relax in the lounge area. It’s just a really cool, unique set-up. Another thing we loved about Deity is that they don’t try to gouge their clients. They offer an alternative to a truly open bar where you can basically prepay a certain amount, and then agree to cover any extra (with someone updating you as the night goes along, if necessary). To the guests it felt like an open bar, but relative to what a “true” open bar would have cost, it saved us several thousand dollars. In short, our friends and family raved about our wedding, and we had an absolute blast, and Deity was a huge part of that.

delicious and personalized tasting dinner that included having the place all to ourselves! And once we signed the contract, Haley kept us informed, answered all of our questions quickly and personalized her attention to us months out from our actual date. Once we entered the heavy duty planning stages, we were lucky enough to have a multiple hour, personalized planning session with the owner, Caio, that included all of the important details for making our night amazing. We emailed with multiple requests and questions leading up to our big day and always got responses within the day. And then the day! We had two attendants who worked to coordinate all the vendors and moving pieces and to make sure we always had a drink. The rooftop was a beautiful spot for our first look and Brooklyn Bridge Park (close by) was perfect for wedding photos. The staff was professional and knowledgeable and led us through step by step so that we could literally just focus on each other and having fun. The ceremony space is gorgeous, the cocktail hour stations were delicious (we have heard rave reviews about the seafood table), and DJ Trauma knew how to keep us dancing all night long. We both had an amazing time and could not imagine having our important day anywhere else! We felt like the staff was part of our family and friends from start to finish. We are thrilled with our decision to have our wedding at Deity. When we first reached out for a quote, we thought that surely it was too good to be true — except that it was all true! From the beginning, the staff at Deity were quick and clear ...
with their communication, completely transparent with their (very reasonable) pricing, and made our wedding planning process exponentially easier. I was pleasantly shocked by how much is included in their packages — a day-of-coordinator, catering, table linens and candle decor, and even a DJ. The space is unique and beautiful, with three floors that give each part of your event a different vibe. We had 108 guests at our wedding and had plenty of room, and could have comfortably fit more people. They also have an incredible bridal suite that I highly recommend renting to stay in overnight — it made our experience all the more special! On the day of our wedding, every detail was executed flawlessly. The food and wine were delicious, the staff made our guests feel welcome, and the DJ was so awesome that our guests didn’t want to stop dancing at the end of the night. Most of all, we never had to think twice about a single thing. We had many DIY decor items and personal details, and nothing was overlooked. Everything ran smoothly. We would barley mention a need and the staff would take care of it. It meant so much to know that we were in expert hands from beginning to end. Deity gave us the Brooklyn wedding of our dreams, and we cannot recommend them highly enough.

My wife and I got married on 04/27/2018 and we had such a beautiful wedding all thanks to Caio and his wonderful team. We had researched and visited TONS of venues in search of the perfect venue to host our intimate style wedding to no avail. I...
t wasn’t until we stepped into Deity that we knew instantly that this was where we wanted our wedding to be. The venue itself is very unique and the décor is absolutely beautiful. From the candle lighting to the beautifully lit indoor tree, which is in the cocktail area, the venue is just SOOO beautiful. Within the venue there are three separate floors, each one hosting a different part of your wedding, which gives your wedding a different feel. We didn’t want the usual catering hall wedding and seeing how each floor itself was distinct was a huge plus for us. I will say however if you have any older guests or any guests with medical issues take into account that going up and down the stairs may prove difficult for them. From the very beginning things went smoothly starting with corresponding with Haley through e-mail who responded almost instantaneously and answered all of my many questions. We had our tour of the venue and food tasting with James who was excellent. James answered some of our lingering questions, explained things in depth and even offered some great input/ideas when we got stuck with making the right decision. When we met with the owner Caio to go over all the details for the wedding he put us at complete ease. Caio broke down everything for us from the pricing to the timeline of our wedding which left us with complete clarity with regards to everything. For our wedding I had a lot DIY décor with the bulk of that being the centerpieces. So a major concern for me was how in the world was I going to get everything to the venue in time??? Caio was so accommodating and allowed me to bring everything over beforehand avoiding any potential wedding day stress which I was extremely thankful for!! The day of Caio and his team were all so accommodating and made sure that our wedding day was stress free as possible. Like with any wedding sometimes hiccups happen and the vases we had for our sand ceremony were accidently knocked over and broke. Caio however went out of his way to race over to Michael’s and replace them with even prettier vases!!! I thought that was so extremely kind and thoughtful of him and goes to show how awesome they are and how above and beyond Caio and his team go. The food/ambiance was great and the party after was even better!! I will say in particular Ana who was with me for the entire wedding was fantastic. She was constantly checking in with us to make sure we were okay or to see if we needed anything. She even assisted me with getting changed into my second outfit and securing my dress (Thank you Ana!!!!). We had DJ Zeke MC and dj our wedding who was also great and he had everyone laughing and dancing to the very end. Everyone for days after and even today rave about how much fun they had and how beautiful/intimate our wedding was which is precisely what we were aiming for. If I had to do it over again I wouldn’t have had our wedding anywhere other than Deity. The complete transparency and affordability of the venue, the beautiful décor and the amazing over accommodating staff makes this venue a must !!!!

With my wedding that was not the case both my wife and I agreed that we had a blast during our wedding and I feel that it was the Deity staff that made this happen. Even months after the event, our friend, and family still say that our wedding was one of the best they ever attended. evels of the venue may seem a bit confusing for guests but the Deity team transitioned the events of the wedding so seamlessly that it went off without a hitch. Their entire team is very courteous and professional. Our Bridal aid was with the Bride the entire day and made sure everything was taken care of for her, and helped to keep the groomsmen in line. The rest of the staff was fantastic and took care of all our guests and their needs. The owner himself was even there the day of and made sure my 98 year old grandmother was taken care of and where she needed to be when she needed to be there. Even she trusted him so much as to let him and James carry her in her wheel chair up and down the stairs. From the moment we signed the contract to the morning after we felt like we were in good hands and trusted Deity to go with all their preferred vendors and glad we did. Caio is completely honest and upfront about all costs, we had no surprises or fees that we didn't know about from the beginning. Highly recommend opting to rent the Apartment as a Bridal Suite, it is beautiful. We did not spend a lot on decorations or flowers and didn't need to. We decided to go with the simple elegance of the venue itself with it's brick finish, simple white lighting and candle displays. The food was excellent! If there was one thing I'd have to say bad I would say the chicken mole wasn't a big hit, but only because the short ribs are sooo good it just overshadowed that dish. welcoming every time we communicated with them. Caio and Haley were sooo extremely responsive when I had a planning panic attack at any given time. The wedding package they have is a steal and kept my husband my family and my coordination of all these different services to a minimum. All we had to worry about was flowers and showing up. THE FOOD: The food provided was DELICIOUS! Not your typical beef, chicken or fish menu, which we loved. We’re still receiving compliments on the catering. We were given the option of having a cash bar or a drink tab at the end of the night which made everything so simple for us. Our guests had a good time. THE DECOR: The decor is awesome. There’s no tacky purple up lighting. If you’re looking for it, this isn’t the venue to get married because that would wash out the beauty of the event space. There isn’t really anything much to add to the decor. All we did was add rose petals down the aisle and my mom made some altar pieces. The staff was willing to oblige with any little details I wanted to add and let my family and I drop everything additional off beforehand. I can’t begin to explain how gorgeous the pictures from our ceremony and reception are. THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!! THE MUSIC We had DJ Trauma DJ at our event. He’s a great guy! Very amicable and easy to work with. There was never a dull moment with him as our DJ. He allowed people to request special songs and never got an attitude about anything. Thank you so much!! OVERALL: We’re still receiving compliments on our big day and Deity was a blessing to find for us from start to finish.

My wife and I recently had our wedding reception at Deity in February and I think the most appropriate way to start the review is with a quote from one of our guest - "best wedding ever!" Our wedding at Deity consisted of the reception only (...
cocktail hour, dinner, dancing) for roughly 115 guests. Overall, an amazing wedding reception is based on a few key areas: Venue, Food, Staff, and Music... Venue The venue is split into 3 separate floors (cocktail hour, dinner, dancing), which at first my wife and I were concerned that this might separate our guests, however, we could not have been more wrong. The separate floors created a perfect flow for the evening and the staff was able to move the guests easily to the different floors at the appropriate times. The separate floors kept the guests entertained during each part of the reception. The venue was extremely clean, had bathrooms on each floor and was suitable for older guests as well (there was a chair lift going up from the cocktail hour space to the dinner space). Food The food was amazing! During cocktail hour we had stationed and passed d'oeuvre which was perfect for all the guests just arriving to the reception. Dinner was family style and all of the guests raved about everything served. Staff For my wife and I, the best part of our experience with Deity was most definitely the staff. Starting from the initial visit, planning and day of the wedding we could not have asked for more. For the top down - all of the staff made my wife and I feel very special and made sure our guests had an amazing time. A special thank you to James, who led the planning and coordination of our wedding from the start. Music After the cocktail hour and the dinner - DJ Jamal kept the party going all night long! The music was perfect and a great mix that made all of our guests get up and dance. DJ Jamal was also perfect in transitioning the party from the dinner, to the speeches, to the wedding party introductions, first dance, cake cutting and then the dancing. Overall, The Deity was an amazing experience and was a big part in making our wedding day so special.

ned, I would be able to have. Being a recent graduate, and newly enrolled graduate student, my budget was insanely low and I was more than worried that I wouldn't be able to afford a venue like Deity however, Caio was gracious enough to understand and accommodate my needs. Deity was the venue that captured my heart for many years (prior to getting engaged). so the obvious thing to do right after my second half proposed was to contact Deity. As cliche as it may sound, I knew Deity was the one for me. The first time I stepped into Deity for a walk-through, my heart was full, and I felt like I was going to burst into tears. From the exposed brick walls, to the romantic lighting, and finally the ELEGANT bar, it was a venue that I could truly picture my wedding in. With all the beauty that Deity had to offer, we saved so much on wedding decor. What made everything even more simple is that Deity provides candles for the ceremony, and reception. Fast forward to wedding day, everything was perfect. Despite rain, and me being sick, Caio and his team took care of my husband and I. During first looks, theres a moment that I will never forget. I was just so happy and in disbelief that my husband and I were going to see each other for the first time and I began crying, I could not pull myself together and that's when Caio immediately grabbed a tissue and wiped my tears away. As if he didn't do enough for me by accommodating my budget, he wiped my tears for me, and made sure I was calm enough to actually get through the first look. Moving on throughout the night, the team at Deity made sure my husband and I were well replenished, and having a good time. All in all, I would 1000% recommend Deity to any and all brides & grooms.

The only requirement I had for a successful wedding day was the presence of my best friend, my husband-to-be, my everything. Ricky and I continued to remind ourselves along the way of our planning experience that, as long as we had each other, ...
everything else was a bonus. (This is also a motto we carry with us in life)This mentality kept everything light and fun and beautiful. If all our tangible needs for a wedding happened to disappear, nothing was going to stop us from sharing in a forever expression of love. Many family members and friends would ask if we were stressed or nervous or overwhelmed and I was able to answer assuredly that the only emotion we were feeling was excitement and gratitude. Our carefree attitude was also thanks in large part to choosing Deity as our venue. We were looking for a unique space to hold our friends and family that was also quintessentially Brooklyn. We made appointments at a few venues to weigh our options and cancelled every single one after seeing what Deity had to offer. Both Ricky and I choked back tears when we saw the second floor space for the ceremony as we could instantaneously see ourselves meeting there in its beautiful light. After we made our decision of where the how became even easier. Deity’s list of recommended and trusted vendors was our go to reference point. From start to finish Yulia at Deity made sure that everything was worry free and perfect. Literally, every hair on my head was in place because of her and her team. She worked behind the scenes to ensure that our wedding ran smoothly. When we arrived at the jaw-droppingly gorgeous bridal suite the night before we were greeted by Yulia and a drink of our choice. She was available by text at all times for any questions that we had during our day. She was always smiling, cool, calm and collected. Everyone was at ease knowing a master of her craft was at work. Even if something had gone awry, which it did not, I trusted Yulia to handle everything. Time seemed to stop that day. We were never rushed or hurried or even aware of a precise pacing at all. Yulia took care of timing so we could be present and in our most happiest moments. Lastly, DJ Trauma delivered exactly the right kind of music to keep everyone, young and old, on their feet and dancing the night away. When we met with him prior to our big day the one request was, music that makes everyone feel good, have fun and dancing irresistible. He knew exactly what to do to keep our energy upbeat. DJ Trauma transitioned nicely from our ceremony and cocktail band, the SIJ Trio, who filled the house with talent, class and delightful melodies. When I’m asked the question, “How did it go? What did you think of your wedding?” I respond by saying it was way more than anything I could have ever dreamed up. Love oozed out of my bones that day and every day since. I love being being able to call Ricky and little Mia my official family and my forever home. And I will live in gratitude of all the family and friends and vendors who came together to share with us in the most special time of our lives.

I cannot say enough good things about Deity-- the venue itself, the incredible staff, the overall experience we had there was absolutely top notch. If you are looking to get married/have your reception in NYC, I would (and do) recommend Deity a...
bove all other venues. My husband and I had a small wedding ceremony out of the country, and decided to hold our reception (approximately 140 people) at Deity, and we just feel so lucky to have found them. After planning our ceremony overseas, it was an absolute godsend to have Yulia and her staff at Deity take the lead in planning our reception in Brooklyn. I honestly don't know how we could have done it without them. A few months before our reception in November, we had a meeting at Deity with Yulia, and in one sitting she helped us create the entire order of events for the reception-- from our arrival at the venue, to the moment we would say our goodbyes to guests. Yulia and the owner, Caio, were even able to accommodate our very a-typical request to have a large family dinner in the upstairs dining room prior to the arrival of the rest of our guests for standing dinner on the main floor. We walked out of that meeting amazed at Yulia's efficiency and INCREDIBLY relieved to know that, save a few finishing touches, our reception was entirely ready to roll. The day of our reception proved to be a huge success, with the Deity staff on top of every last detail. The venue itself was a HUGE hit with our guests. Many asked how we found the spot, and inquired about booking Deity for their own upcoming weddings and special events. The venue is a gorgeous 4-level building, complete with a floor for dancing, a bar/standing dinner floor with banquets, a dining room/ceremony floor with lovely hanging lights and exposed brick, and an *exquisite* top floor apartment that's optional to rent out for the evening. Each floor provided its own special energy for our guests, so the party remained alive and exciting for everyone throughout the entire evening. Our reception included a pre-party sitdown family dinner, hors d’oeurves and standing dinner for all guests, a reading of my husband and my vows, a slideshow (on Deity’s two awesome projector screens on the bar floor), group photos, tons of dancing, and a small gathering of the wedding party for an after party upstairs. Throughout it all, Yulia and her staff were excellent at gently guiding our guests into the venue’s different spaces according to our evening’s itinerary. Last but not least, Diety’s resident DJ, Jamal (aka DJ Trauma), was AWESOME. I am *very* picky about music, and it was crucially important to me that our reception feature a great playlist comprised largely of 90s hip hop, Pop, and Motown, and Jamal absolutely killed it. Our guests were dancing ALL night, and even asked him for an encore after the last song. Jamal was so nice and easy to work with, and made our reception into the dance party of my dreams. From soup to nuts, our wedding reception at Deity was everything we could have hoped for and more. Many of our guests told us afterwards that ours was the best wedding they’d ever been to, and I really have to concur, and it was thanks in LARGE part to the amazing staff at Deity. Not sure what else to say except book your wedding there. You will not regret it. :)

We got married at Deity in January 2018, and it was just perfect. From the very beginning Caio was super responsive (he was even responding to my emails on Christmas Eve) and detail oriented. He personally made sure that my 94-year-old grandma ...
was able to get up to the ceremony on the 2nd floor without issue (there is a chair lift but no elevator). And throughout the night he also checked in with us multiple times to attend to anything we might want. Because Deity has 3 distinct floors each stage of the wedding has a unique feel. Our ceremony, which began right at sunset, was intimate and the lighting was stunning. Cocktail hour takes place in a beautiful lounge with stained glass and a lit up tree. Afterward it's back upstairs as the ceremony space is transitioned into a cozy and romantic setting for dinner. The food was delicious (especially the short rib and mac-n-cheese) and the family style service worked out perfectly. Finally, it was down to the cellar for an epic dance party! I really appreciated that the dancing and dinner were separated in this way; it gave us a chance to really enjoy dinner (and actually eat!) and then just totally let loose on the dance floor. Jamal, our DJ, was terrific, played all our requested songs and made sure that the dance floor was always packed. Afterward we heard from everyone how terrific the wedding was. If there were any problems during the night, we didn't know about it and Deity must have taken care of them quickly and quietly. For us bride and groom it was carefree. All in all it was a perfect evening!

Our wedding at Deity was perfect! Everything went smoothly and we couldn’t have had a better time! All of our guests have been telling us they had such a great time and how perfect the venue was--especially for a wedding on New Year’s Eve! We...
were fortunate to have met Caio when we saw the venue for the first time and he was very open and informative about the space. We absolutely loved the tree on the first floor and even though the venue was a bit small he explained it actually can accommodate over 100 people easily. We really loved the cozy vibe with the exposed brick and strung lights. You can easily miss this place if you are just walking down the street so it felt like a hidden speakeasy in the middle of Brooklyn. If you are looking for a different experience than your typical catering hall wedding then this is a cool option. When we arrived at Deity the day of the wedding, everything looked like we had pictured it and talked about with Yulia beforehand. Yulia anticipated all of our needs and was great to work with. She was able to schedule some moments alone for us during the wedding which was great and memorable since the day did go so fast and there were many people to see. We were slightly worried about all the transitions from room to room, but Yulia and the staff made it seem effortless. We were worried about getting some of the elderly people up and down the stairs but Yulia made it work and there is a chair lift. The food was delicious! Our guests were raving about the filet mignon and everything really was delicious. The only thing we really didn't like was the asparagus, which was rather thick and tough to eat. Other than that, we really enjoyed all the food, including the cocktail hour--the braised short rib sliders and grilled cheese bar were a real hit! We were also extremely happy with Jamal the DJ. He kept track of everything we asked him to take care of for us. He was very accommodating and receptive to everything and we greatly appreciated that. It was cool that the venue comes with the DJ and the chairs, linens, food and even basic decor for the tables. We didn’t want a long engagement and were trying to keep costs down so we appreciated not having to coordinate a bunch of vendors.

e our wedding in the NYC area, and came across Deity on more than one occasion during our venue search. We visited Deity for the first time toward the end of a long weekend venue tour. After just a few minutes of conversation and confirmation that New Year’s Eve was available, we knew Deity was the absolute best option. After we confirmed our date well in advance, we began meeting and communicating with Yulia about the details leading up to our big day. Neither of us went into the wedding planning with many specific requests, and Yulia made sure we thought about things that turned out to be incredibly important. She and Caio remained in constant communication during the time leading up to our big day. Our ceremony went off without a hitch, and Yulia made sure we were able to eat and enjoy our time for a few minutes before we were off to enjoy our guests. Dinner service was perfect, and everyone had more than enough to eat and drink. We chose to do a family style dinner, which was a huge hit with our guests. They all raved about the food from the appetizer selection to the dinner choices. We both have a few family members with specific dietary restrictions that were over the moon with their ability to have excellent choices as well! DJ Jamal started the night of dancing downstairs with all of our requests, and enough hits to please absolutely everyone. Since we married on New Year’s Eve, the entire Deity team did an exceptional job of making sure everyone was around and ready to ring in the New Year. Coming upon the year anniversary of our amazing day has resulted in an abundance of family and friends all reaching out to let us know they won’t be able to top the night Yulia, James, Jamal, Caio, and the rest of the Deity staff provided for us. I truly cannot recommend this venue enough, as they really have this event business down to an art. Thank you to the entire team at Deity for all that you do!!

Caio, James, Yulia and the whole Deity team are not only some of the nicest people you could meet, but they are extremely professional, and we had complete trust in them to make sure our day was perfect. We live abroad, which is a bit of added pressure when planning a wedding, but the team was very responsive and efficient in answering any questions we had, even down to the smallest details, so we knew we were in great hands. The team is also very honest about costs, and it was really refreshing to know that they have your best interest in mind when discussing budgets, never pressuring you to overspend. We booked the full space for our wedding, including the suite, and we had an amazing day, with wonderful pictures to keep the memories. Our guests had an wonderful time celebrating with us and were extremely complementary of the venue, the food and the service, so we could not have been happier with our choice. The price is very reasonable, especially compared to other Brooklyn venues and definitely worth every penny. The venue itself is spectacular with beautiful lights and candles everywhere and in our opinion needed little or no extra decorations which not only saved money but much stress too. The food was delicious and very plentiful, so many of our guests still comment on how good it was. The staff made sure that me and my husband ate ahead of time before the reception, just he and I, which was a perfect touch. DJ Trauma was amazing and kept us dancing all night. Every last detail was thought of and every request was tended to. We really can’t thank everyone enough for making our reception even better than what we could have imagined. super convenient location for our native NY/Brooklyn family and friends. Caio and his staff are extremely clear and professional and handle all the planning with ease. Every question I had was met with a straight forward response. At Deity I felt like I was able to get really smooth, easy, and high end service but without the pretentious and over the top feel that many wedding venues have. The location is super convenient near all subways and easy parking as well as hotels for visitors. I fell in love with the simple elegance of the decor. I found that I was really able to save money on the florist because the decor at Deity is already very beautiful as we only had to add a couple of touches but did not have to do alot of extravagant floral arrangements. Everyone said the food was awesome. As the nervous, excited bride, to be honest I barely remember the food, but our mothers are the harshest critics and had only good things to say. The DJ was super professional and easy to work with. One of the most important aspects though was the staff and how they run things. It is obvious that they have fine tuned every transition moment and they were able to walk us through step by step all the details so that nothing was left up to the unexpected. At the same time they are all relaxed, easy going people so the night flowed seamlessly even as Yulia and James were hard at work, they did it all with a smile so you couldn't tell all the behind the scenes coordination that was going on. Yulia was awesome as she catered to myself and my husband making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. And James the bartender was great at working the crowd and keeping all the guests happy during the cocktail hour. There is not one single negative thing I could say about Deity. I feel like it was really the perfect venue for us Myself, my husband, and all our guests had a fabulous time.

Our wedding at Deity two weeks ago was amazing. In fact, everything went so smoothly that it almost seems unreal. We wanted a venue that offered an intimate feel, had an interesting history, and has its own distinctive decor that works for a...
variety of themes/feels but also doesn't require excess decorating to make it look beautiful. Deity ticked all those boxes (and it's also a 15 minute walk from our home, which is a plus). From the beginning, Caio was very responsive, informative, and really helped us figure out our options (how often do you get to communicate directly with the owner?) without being overly burdensome about the business end of things. Yulia, our top-notch wedding coordinator, dotted every i, crossed every t, and made sure we never felt like we weren't being taken care of. Together they run a tight ship, and that's what you want on your day. We also rented the penthouse above the venue for our wedding prep/wedding night and it is incredibly beautiful (basically the size of an apartment) - I would live there if I could. Yulia and her staff made sure we had small bites and celebratory champagne after we returned from our photos with the wedding party, which went over very well with a group of well-dressed people who were cranky from taking group shots on the Promenade. I won't go too much into the ceremony/reception, but Yulia put us at ease during our rehearsal (we kept our ceremony short and sweet), and for cocktail hour and dinner the staff was efficient and made sure everyone got where they needed to go. But mostly importantly, they were warm and friendly to each other and to our guests (even with one guest who had a bit of a moment). You could tell that they love what they do, and that they put their all into running events there. Also have to mention the food: we were on an emotional high (which somehow takes away your hunger) and didn't get much of it (which I regret) but what we DID eat was excellent. Our guests loved the filet mignon and the five cheese macaroni, and the chicken fingers were clutch for a few of the children who were there. Yulia was also kind enough to snatch up some desserts and send them up to the bridal suite for late night snacks. The night ended on the lower level, where we danced to excellent music DJed by Jamal (who was also a great MC for our toasts) - earlier we had sent along some of our preferences, and he worked those in seamlessly with other songs that got everyone on the dance floor. Bottom line: we couldn't have been more happy with our decision to celebrate with family and friends at Deity, and we'd do it over again.

lia and Caio guiding us along the way – from setting the schedule and selecting the menu to arranging the DJ call, Deity was really supportive throughout the planning process and gave us friendly and helpful advice. Here is what we liked the most about Deity (in no particular order). 1) Food was really great and plentiful - the everything crusted tuna, leg of lamb, mac and cheese, among other dishes, were delicious as mains, while the hor dourves were so tasty (lobster rolls, crab cakes, steak toasts, dips, grilled cheeses in particular). We all ate so much! My guests told me that they didn’t expect such great food at a wedding venue and it was a great community experience to have it served family style by table 2) Venue is beautiful and unique, while being very accessible to public transit – I loved the 3 floor design which separated the ceremony space, reception area, and dance floor. The venue lighting and decorations itself meant that we didn’t have to worry about flowers/additional decorations, which was very nice. The space itself is really memorable – not generic at all, as each floor has a completely different ‘feel’ which was really exciting to guests 3) Extremely supportive and professional staff – Everything went so smooth from arranging the ceremony entrances, keeping us on schedule for all the main events, and directing guest flow to helping one of my husband’s elderly guests manage the stairs and getting me a slice of cake that I wanted to eat (we had 10 different flavors). The staff was very friendly throughout and accommodating, and they had a sophisticated ear-piece communication system that helped coordinate any requests quickly. DJ Jamal also did a fantastic job in handling some of our quirkier music requests (IE: Chinese ‘oldies’ music from the 1970s for my parents). This meant that on the day, everything was completely handled for us so that we could just enjoy, relax, and savor the moment rather than worrying about details 4) Small touches to make the day so special – Throughout the day, Deity staff helped arrange some private moments between my husband and me which made my wedding even more special 5) Planning was extremely easy – Especially when I compared myself to friends who had to worry separately about coordinating many vendors (DJ, caterer, florist, wedding planner, fixture provider), Deity centralized all these critical components and made it very efficient. Especially when comparing to some of my friends, I think the amount of effort involved in planning was cut down by at least ~70-80%, which is great for busy people 6) Amazing value and great one price bundle - I really liked the one price bundle (fixed price inclusive of all service/tax – very transparent) and we got so much happiness and value from what we spent I really can’t think of many draw-backs. We had ~80 guests at our wedding – this space would do less well with a massive wedding I’d like to add that I don’t typically write reviews but felt compelled to since Deity is really deserving of all the praise that you’ve likely seen in other reviews. I honestly don’t know how my wedding could have turned out better and I now have so many wonderful memories

I can't recommend Deity highly enough. They should actually probably be charging more than they do. There are a few major things that attracted us to Deity when we first picked it as our venue: --The simplicity: nearly everything is included....
As you may discover looking at other venues, many venues in New York include basically nothing. The caterers have to assemble (and charge you for) a mobile kitchen; chairs and tables and sound equipment have to be rented; if you want a couch for people to relax on during cocktail hour, that has to be rented too. I guess that's great if there is one particular shade of eggshell that your ceremony chairs absolutely must be, but for the rest of us it is insanely complicated and very expensive. By contrast Deity includes just about everything -- the only outside vendors we were coordinating with the day of were the cake, the favors for guests, and the photographer. DJ, food, drink, furniture, and basic decor are all included. You could add flowers or more decor if you wanted, but we did nothing but the standard Deity package, and honestly it was plenty and totally perfect -- save your money. --The price: I don't know if you can call any New York City wedding "cheap", but this place was definitely one of the best value options we looked at. All of those extra rentals and service fees from other vendors really add up. Our entire venue, food, and beverage cost with Deity (which also included DJ) was less than the budget just for caterers at many other venues. And there is less nickel-and-diming: many other venues charge a 20% service fee but you are then expected to provide a second gratuity. Deity does charge a 20% gratuity but it is actually exactly that. --The venue: We loved the venue from the first time we saw it. Having three different spaces keeps things fun and interesting through the evening and keeps people excited about wondering what's coming next. --The team: Everyone we worked with at Deity was excellent. We booked well in advance of our ceremony and Caio, the owner, was happy to answer questions every few months as plans came together. And he and the rest of the team were very responsive and helpful in the weeks before the ceremony as we got down to business. The day of the ceremony, Yulia, our coordinator, was a marvel. She was constantly on the go making sure the various staff members were keeping everything moving and that the guests were enjoying themselves. She also made sure that my husband and I had drink refills whenever needed and found time for us to have a few quiet moments to ourselves away from the rest of the guests to savor the moment. And she was constantly serving as a one-woman concierge, lost-and-found, and traffic director, and made sure all of our items to take with us were gathered by the end of the night. And the DJ, Jamal, was excellent. We had a fantastic dance party. I will admit there were a few small downsides to Deity relative to some other venues we looked at: There could be a bit of a line for the bathrooms at times. They don't include the same sort of bridal suite or all-day access to the facilities benefits that some other properties offer. And of course you are limited to only the items offered on the menu rather than any caterer of your choice. But most venues that offer all of those things cost nearly, if not more than, twice as much.

My one-liner if you don't read the rest: I wish I was a guest at our own wedding so that I could have enjoyed the lovely evening at Deity without the inevitable stresses that comes with being a bride. It was that good and this is all thanks to ...
the amazing service and space. Our wedding surpassed our expectations and was beautifully orchestrated thanks to Caio and his wonderful staff. Deity was the only venue we checked out and we knew it was the right space for us immediately. Once we locked in the date, Caio handled all of the correspondence and planning from beginning to end. As far as weddings go, he made the whole process stress-free. He is super responsive and takes each wedding very seriously. This is no conveyor belt type of place. 2 months ahead of the wedding, we had a sit down with Caio to go through the day of schedule. Caio was patient, detailed, accommodative and touched upon every little aspect of the wedding (super important!) during the meeting. STAFF: Caio and the staff were attentive and accommodative. They tended to our needs and went out of the way to handle a few of our special requests. Anna was assigned to ensure I was attended to, she even helped with holding my dress as I walked up and down the stairs. The service was impeccable and just seamless. Without us asking, the staff even helped move some of the flowers from the reception down to the cellar to ensure the cake and cupcake display was at its finest. Thanks to Caio and his staff, the two of us did not need to worry about a thing. FOOD & DRINKS: Delicious. I wish I can go back for a meal! Regarding the drinks, as our friend said - the drinks kept coming out. Two thumbs up! Bottom line, the staff were on their A-game throughout the night; our friends still rave about how great of a time they had at Deity.

I, take credit for finding Deity, a venue that literally fit every thing we were looking for. From our first walk through we knew it was perfect. The exposed brick walls, the wood floors, the romantic lighting throughout the entire space...complete perfection. Throughout the wedding planning process Caio, the owner of the venue was so awesome to work with. He was extremely responsive to emails and very patient with me the bride (aka wedding planner). I’ve never planned a big event before and while I pride myself on my organizational skills there was still a lot of blanks that needed to be filled in..which Caio was happy to do. Our vendors, all recommended by Deity, were top notch as well. Charlotte from Floral Heights and Nikola from Le Image Photography were a pleasure to work with. The evening of our wedding could not have gone better. The entire staff at Deity is truly amazing! Yulia, our day of coordinator, in particular was beyond words. She was super organized, thoughtful, patient, and extremely attentive to detail, both of our families, and each one of our guests. She often checked in with our parents throughout the night and my husband’s parents (both of which would tell us if they were unimpressed) could not have been more pleased. One of the best moments of the night for me was after the ceremony Yulia and the staff had set up a small candlelit table full of hors d'oeuvres and two glasses of champagne for just us. Caio had mentioned this to us prior (he had said how important it was for us to take a moment to gather our thoughts and relish in the fact that we just got married!!) but this honestly was so perfect. It was exactly what my husband and I needed after such a busy, exhausting day and a big rejuvenation before several more hours of being “on”. Dinner was great. The food was delicious. We went with the BBQ chicken and filet as main courses and I cannot tell you how yummy the BBQ chicken was. My husband’s step father commented that the filet was so tender you could cut it with a butter knife. Definitely not would you would expect from a wedding venue. Jamal, the DJ was great as well. We gave him our request of mostly 90’s and 2000’s music and he delivered. He kept the crowd and energy up until the very end. At my request my cousin put together a slide show for what I thought would just be our rehearsal dinner. When I asked if it was possible to show at the wedding (just a week or two before) Caio was more than happy to accommodate. He literally said have her bring her laptop and we’ll do the rest. The night of, screens came down from the ceiling and everyone was able to enjoy the show without a glitch. I would absolutely recommend Deity for your wedding. The space itself has so much character and the staff is simply icing on the cake. Obviously, the staff does this every weekend but they honestly make you feel like everything that is done is done just for you. They make you feel how you should on your wedding day...special!!!

This review is 6 months overdue, but still had to be written. We got married at Deity in April of 2016. We had looked at a few other venues before seeing Deity, but immediately after our tour I called Caio to book a date. Everything about the ...
process was simple and relaxed. Being a teacher, I have limited time to be on the phone so it helped that Caio was comfortable answering questions via email and was always available to relay information pertaining to our wedding. When we went a bit off script with the format of our night, Caio insisted on being part of our planning meeting to ensure that everything would go how we envisioned our wedding night. Truly, from start to finish, Deity was a pleasure to work with. I cannot thank Caio enough for his patience with me and for his honesty when discussing parts of a wedding I thought I had to have, but really didn’t want to have. He is truly a professional and knows the business. Caio was great, but hats off to Jay who made us fall in love with Deity in the first place. We loved the feel of the space as well as the décor. I also really liked that it felt like “Brooklyn” while still having elegance which matched our style completely. Jay offered answers to the questions I had as well as the overload of questions my parents had. We took his word on doing the passed food format (as opposed to a sit down dinner) and I couldn’t have been happier. We picked some heartier hors d'oeuvres off the menu, and everything Chef Jason Bunin put out was AMAZING. I still have dreams about the food six months later. Jay kept in touch with us all night about our bar tab without making us feel uncomfortable. He even noticed that people were still eating later in the night and sent out chicken fingers and fries for guests to snack on. We brought in our own cake for cutting as well as mini cupcakes and cookies for dessert, and everything was set up beautifully when we arrived downstairs. DJ Trauma listened to our music directions (which I think were “we want to dance, and we want everyone to dance with us”) and people danced the entire night. Overall, I would recommend Deity to anyone for any event.

We had our wedding at Deity on August 13th, 2016 and couldn't be happier with our decision. We wanted to have a beautiful, fun, stress free, reasonably priced wedding. This is a tall order in NYC, but that's exactly what we got with Deity. Pla...
nning was a breeze and you can really do as much or as little as you want to personalize your day. The wonderful team and the beautiful space make it really easy to have a great event. We had about 85 wedding guests and felt like Deity was a good size but could have easily fit 20-25 more comfortably. Space - The space is split into three floors- The Loft, where the ceremony and dinner take place, The Lounge, where the cocktail hour happens and The Cellar which is usually used for dancing. We only used The Loft and The Lounge areas since we had a few older guests that would not be able to make it down the stairs to The Cellar. We used The Lounge for dancing and absolutely loved it. We were skeptical about the size of the space for dancing but it really is much larger than it seems once people are in it. It was a great size for our party and could have fit a bit more comfortably. We even were able to fit a photo booth! Each level is so beautiful that you don't need to do much in terms of flowers or other decor. Deity decorates the space with candles in hurricane vases throughout, which give it a really nice vibe. We did our own small centerpieces of succulents, roses and anemones in gold mason jars and thought they went perfectly with the decor. Service - Caio, James, Yulia and the entire Deity staff are a fantastic bunch of people and really made our day. They went above and beyond to make sure that all of our guests were comfortable and that we were stress free. Caio was wonderful throughout the whole planning process and ran our wedding on the day of. We couldn't speak more highly of him! He was honest and easy to work with. On the day of he was amazing helping the older folks navigate the space and made sure that I got my lobster rolls - I jokingly mentioned that this was a concern for me weeks before the wedding and he made sure some were brought up to us while we took pictures in The Loft after the ceremony. Food & Drinks - The food was so delicious and plentiful! I only wish that I was less nervous so that I could have eaten more! We chose the family style menu. During the cocktail hour there were stationary platters and passed hors d'oeuvres. Some of our guests said they were so delicious that they filled up at the cocktail hour and couldn't believe there was a sit down meal as well. I would say that all of the food was phenomenal and much better quality than your typical wedding. As for drinks, we went with the premium pay per drink option rather than unlimited. Deity also allowed us to create signature his and hers drinks. In the end, it worked out to about the same cost as it would have been if we went with the unlimited option. I don't believe that's typical, but we have some heavy drinkers among us! All in all, we really couldn't be happier with how our wedding day went and are so happy that we chose Deity. I can't imagine that there is a better choice in the city for a couple that wants to have a beautiful wedding without breaking the bank.
