Having our wedding reception at Deity was absolutely the best choice we could have made. We selected them because we liked that they had a beautiful and unique space, offered an all-inclusive package, were very transparent about pricing and reasonably priced, and were open to our unique vision for a costume wedding party. Caio and Anna truly made our night special through their meticulous planning and advice, seamless day-of management, and by overall being very kind and sweet people to work with. We also loved in-house DJ Ben ha Meen who threw DOWN. We couldn’t have asked for the night to go more smoothly or for us and our guests to have more fun, and I couldn’t recommend Deity enough to other couples!
From the first moment we started planning our wedding in NYC, Deity was at the top of the list. They provide micro weddings, 50 guests or less, with all-inclusive pricing. They also include a basic decor package, but you can decorate it how you want, within their guidelines. I hired a lighting vendor to add fairly lights on the walls to complement Deity's light ceiling and brought in my own decor which they worked with my coordinator's team to assemble. This was totally optional, and Deity was very accommodating to our desires but that is not the best part.
The chef is amazing. He is so kind and took the time to explain the dishes and make changes for some of our guests with dietary restrictions. The food was delicious and in abundance, guests are still talking about it. I couldn't stop eating the steak and they kept giving it to me. Another part is their DJ kept everyone on the dance floor. He played every song we asked for and all the songs to match. We had to make people leave after the music was off. They were still having fun. All it takes is good food, drinks and good music for people to have a great time. Our guests enjoyed themselves and so did we.
The venue is beautiful and fit our theme perfectly. Moving thru the space was a bit tiring, as it is multi levels, but they helped everyone in need and kept the flow seamless. We knew there would be stairs and prepared our guest beforehand, but no one complained. My mom loved using the chair lift and was so happy they had it. We rented the loft space for both parties to get ready. It was a great addition to have everyone in one place before the wedding because Downtown Brooklyn traffic was insane that day, as usual. It was a great area for getting ready pics and of course, to get ready. The rooftop provided a great location for photos. This add-on really helped us have more wedding time because it was all in one location.
Our weeknight micro wedding was intimate, filled with love and Deity provided the laid back and fun atmosphere we wanted. Our guests loved the space and had many conversations about the stained-glass windows. Everyone on the Deity team was extremely friendly and helpful. They emailed promptly and accommodated all our needs without any issues. They were upfront with their fees. We would highly recommend.
I couldn’t have dreamed up a better wedding venue than Deity. The space is stunningly gorgeous and was perfectly sized for our 130-person guest count. Each level (the lounge, loft, and cellar) were expertly tailored to the events they hosted, and somehow comfortably accommodated all of our guests while still feeling cozy and intimate. The other aspects of the all-inclusive package were just as impressive – I don’t know that I’ve ever had better food and drinks at a wedding, and DJ Ben kept the dance floor packed the whole night. But what really sets Deity apart is the service of their staff. Caio and his team do a fantastic job from your first venue tour to the final wedding sendoff. They are transparent, communicative, efficient, and know how to throw one hell of a party. Each staff member that we encountered treated our wedding with such care and attention to detail, and we’ll never be able to thank them enough for the beautiful wedding they gave us.
Any questions?
Deity was an absolute dream to work with for our wedding. From the very first interaction, Anna and her team were clear, kind, and incredibly sweet in their communication. They kept everything running smoothly and on schedule, preventing any issues and ensuring our wedding was the smoothest I've ever attended. The space was gorgeous, highly organized, and truly unique - the space was transformed into a stunning, one-of-a-kind backdrop for our special day. The food was also delicious, and the chef was so gracious in accommodating our requests. We are beyond grateful to Anna and the entire Deity team for making our wedding day perfect in every way.
Our wedding at Deity Brooklyn in June 2024 was absolutely magical! I would 100% recommend Deity to anyone looking for a unique, all-inclusive wedding venue in NYC. From the up-front pricing information, to the first tour with Caio, to securing our date, coming in for a menu tasting and having our planning meeting with Anna and Kat - every step of the way reinforced my confidence that choosing Deity as our wedding venue was the right choice! The space is a beautiful historic building that's been converted to a four story (plus rooftop!) party venue. I loved that Deity provides all the dinnerware, linens and candles, it really limited the decisions we had to make so we could focus on personal touches for our day. We wanted our wedding to feel like an amazing house party, which Deity perfectly delivered. Anna was an incredible coordinator, so on top of everything and thoughtful. The day-of team ran everything so smoothly - I honestly wasn't stressed for a moment, because everyone was organized, calm and clearly loves what they do. The chef and DJ (part of the all-inclusive pricing!) were also amazing. Our guests are still raving about the delicious family-style dinner from the mind of Chef James; and how DJ BenHaMeen read the room and kept us dancing and singing until the wee hours of the morning. Literally, the best day ever. (Photos by Sarah Bode-Clark Photography)
My husband and I were looking for a high value, reasonably-priced venue in the Brookly area and we found it in DEITY. We were immediately impressed by DEITY wedding packages. We were able to find a package that best fit our vision and budget. It’s really hard to imagine that we could have gotten a better deal for our money anywhere else, especially when you consider that the tax is already baked in upfront without any hidden surprises.
DEITY is amazing, we couldn’t have picked a better venue for our small and intimate wedding. The whole staff was very friendly and very accommodating, Anna our event coordinator was always very helpful and guided us with any questions we had.
The food was excellent, the table setup was perfect with the family style setting. The Chef was so hospitable, he stopped by to make sure we were pleased with the food.
The bottom line is, on the day of our event, DEITY showed up and executed flawlessly, from the decor, to the food, to the event management. We have been getting non-stop compliments from our friends and family about how awesome the wedding was and how much fun they had. Can’t thank the team from DEITY enough for making our day so memorable. If we had to choose DEITY time and time again, we unequivocally will!

Amazing!!!!! We had our wedding at Deity on June 21, 2024. We are not exaggerating when we say it exceeded our wildest dreams. We chose Deity because we wanted a very Brooklyn vibe to our whole day, and you just can’t beat this space: the exposed brick, the lighting, the vintage feel of the bridal suite, the speakeasy-like atmosphere of the cellar, and the gorgeous building were exactly what we wanted. And then we met the staff. We could write a book about the people who work and run Deity; they made our day. Anna and Caio radiate love of love, and they are clearly committed to making weddings magical. We were so calm on the day of our wedding thanks to them. Every single person on the staff was thoughtful, personable, kind, and professional. The guests raved about the staff, the food (the food!!! Omg delicious!), the space, the DJ (Ben was awesome!), and the bartenders. Our wedding felt seamless and we actually got to enjoy every moment. We’d say the bridal suite is a must; it’s gorgeous and it added so much to the day to get ready there and have a first look. We faced a heat wave, so we barely used the rooftop, but it was lovely to go up there for photos. We did a tasting of the food beforehand and were so impressed, and it tasted even better day-of. The chef also surprised us with an epic cheese and fruit platter in addition to the appetizers during cocktail hour, and our guests loved it. Anna, the day-of coordinator, and Anastasia both took really good care of us. They built in moments for us to have alone time, helped us with our clothes and belongings, and kept everything moving smoothly. The pricing, as advertised, is transparent and there are no hidden fees. It was a really affordable wedding for New York and for us, and we appreciated that we were able to budget for it from the start with no surprises. We’d get married here 100 more times if we could, it was that good! Thank you, Deity, for an unforgettable experience. You are all in our hearts forever.
Had a wonderful micro wedding at Deity. The venue is beautiful, the food was incredible and most importantly the staff was a joy to work with. Planning a wedding is daunting, and they made it so easy. Aside from the cake, the photographer and the officiant, they took care of EVERYTHING making it a wonderful stress-free experience. Our wedding guests were so impressed and had a blast. I will definitely be recommending Deity to those in need of an event space in NYC.
The venue is beautiful and very accommodating. Anna (the coordinator) was amazing--she walked us through schedule, timing and the plan for the day and thought about any special accommodations and preferences we had. We were looking for a stress-free wedding and Deity definitely delivered. Everything ran smoothly and exactly the way we hoped. Would be happy to have any event there.
We had a wonderful experience at Deity for our wedding. They were very organized, had great recommendations for the handful of external vendors we used, and were professional throughout our interaction. The space worked great for our 80 person wedding. There was plenty of space for our guests and we heard raving reviews about the food & cocktails.
Additionally, with my mother being in a wheelchair, they were extremely accommodating and had the necessary facilities to help her navigate the event without any issues. Overall, guests loved the intimate feeling of the space, great food, great dj, great bar, everything. Would recommend if you're considering a wedding in Brooklyn!
We held our reception here in February and can't speak highly enough of this place and the staff. Given all the stress we were under with folks traveling from out of town and just generally planning a wedding, we needed a venue that could simply our planning. Deity fit the bill and delivered. They handled all the major elements of the reception so we could focus on our guests and on having a great time.
Deity's coordinator, Anna, was a godsend and made sure everything went off without a hitch. 10/10 would wed there again.
We cannot recommend Deity enough! We had our wedding there in April 2024 and had the most beautiful and perfect day. From our first inquiry to the end of our wedding, we felt taken care of. They are very transparent about their pricing and how the day is planned. Anna, the main coordinator, was incredibly communicative and managed the whole day perfectly. Deity takes care of everything except for photography and flowers and it made everything run smoothly. The service was incredible and you can tell that they work together full time and know how to put on a wonderful event. Each staff member was friendly and helpful and took great care of us and our guests.
The space is stunning! We loved that each floor served a different purpose. We also paid extra for the getting ready suite which is gorgeous. There is so much space and we loved the suite and the rooftop.
The food was amazing! We are still hearing from guests that it was the best food they’ve had at a wedding. Our DJ, Ben, was awesome! He understood exactly what we wanted music wise and the energy was high until the very last song.
We are so happy we had our wedding at Deity! We wish we would do the day all over again. We are so grateful to the entire team at Deity for bringing our dream wedding come to life!
We chose Deity for our wedding venue April 2024 and have no regrets. We knew we wanted a Brooklyn vibe with low stress and Deity delivered. Both Caio (the owner) and Anna (event coordinator) are super easy to work with and are very responsive to all questions and needs. They make the bride and groom feel like royalty.
If you are someone more low key and you do not want to obsess about every detail of your wedding, then Deity is the venue for you. They make everything very easy for the couple. Basically everything except a photographer, flowers, and cake is provided for you by Deity and part of the all inclusive price. We saw the venue once, booked a date, had only one planning meeting and some emails with Anna, then everything went smoothly the day of. Deity is honestly already naturally beautiful so not much extra decoration and prep is needed (all we brought in were rented silk flowers for the arch, bud vases for the tables, and late night taco Bell for the partiers).
We did opt to pay extra for the upstairs Suite and it was worth it. The suite is a good place for pictures and it minimizes stress on the day of as you can keep all your stuff in there and the staff packs up everything for you at the end of the night. It was also super nice to have a moment of quiet in the suite after the ceremony where they served you appetizers privately.
Overall, very happy with our choice of Deity as our wedding venue and no regrets!
This past April, my husband and I held our wedding ceremony and reception at Deity, and it was a beautiful, life-changing experience. We came into the wedding planning process with fears and anxieties, and were immediately soothed by Anna's capable and personalized care. Throughout the months of planning, Anna was our rock and helped us plan, prepare and coordinate, even making better suggestions when we came up with odd requests. Not only did we feel engaged and comfortable, we also felt respected as individuals and supported as a LGTBQ couple. On the day of the wedding, our anxieties gave way to excitement, optimism, and pure love and joy as the Deity team led a beautifully choreographed day + evening for us, our family, and friends, from working with our vendors, to keeping a solid schedule, to serving incredible food, to incorporating the complexities of our diverse cultural backgrounds. Words can't express how thankful we are to Anna, Caio, Kat, Anastasia, BenHamin, and all others at Deity. Thank you.
Deity was an amazing venue for our small (under 80 people) wedding! We were floored by the exceptional service the hosts and staff provided from beginning our wedding planning through to our big day. Deity hosts and staff were beyond superb in providing top-quality service and hospitality. The food was the best food that I have ever had the pleasure of eating at any weddings and they truly made wedding planning easy, smooth, and very manageable. I couldn't recommend Deity for any type of venue enough! Thank you so much, Deity, for making our wedding day so special and that much more memorable!
You generally only get one wedding, which means going into the day without knowing about a lot of the tiny details that go into making a wedding run smoothly. You do the research, you read the blogs, you study your friends' weddings and get tons of advice, but still you don't know what it's really like. The staff at Deity do--they do this every day. I could write about how great the space is, how much fun everyone had, and how reasonable the price was, and I'll get to all of that, but I want to emphasize what the pictures can't. Our wedding day ran smoothly and comfortably for us and our guests, and it's due to the staff at Deity. They anticipated our needs, gave us lots of helpful advice in both the planning stages and the day of, and went above and beyond to make sure we had the wedding we wanted. Anna, the coordinator, answered my endless emails and asked even more questions that hadn't occurred to me, and on the day of she handled everything so seamlessly I actually got to enjoy myself; Caio, the owner, gave our officiant (my brother) tips about when to move the mic for the smoothest possible ceremony, and made sure my train looked perfect right when I first stepped out into the aisle; and none of the staff batted an eye when I came down an hour before the guests were arriving to say I needed help hiding clues for a scavenger hunt that I had not told them I was planning. They made sure my husband and I got something to eat and a quiet moment to ourselves, they helped us load an Uber at almost midnight on a Sunday with all the stuff we'd brought. They made the whole day feel seamless and fun, and I cannot thank them enough.
Also, so many of my guests made a point to tell me how good the food was. I'll admit, I was a little nervous about committing to the in-house catering without a tasting (we were lucky enough to get a sample from Chef James on our initial tour), but my fears were entirely unfounded. The passed appetizers were genuinely amazing, and the food served at the family-style dinner was tasty and actually hot, which I feel like is rare amongst weddings I've been to. They also were very helpful in accommodating our guests with dietary restrictions, including coordinating an order from a restaurant for a celiac guest, whom their kitchen wasn't equipped to serve. The bar was also great, helped us come up with custom cocktails, and there was cocktail service everywhere, including on the dance floor. When I factored in the food and drink to the total cost we paid for Deity, it's also a really good deal, compared to other local catering options!
I won't say too much about the space because you can see it in the pictures and judge the vibe for yourself on a tour. But I will say that having different spaces for the different parts of the event was great, and having the suite for getting ready (and for retreating to when we needed a moment) was a godsend--not to mention wonderful for our photos! Sunset skyine photos without leaving the venue? Don't mind if I do! The location was great for both our in town guests, and those staying at nearby hotels.
If you like the look of Deity, don't hesitate. I hope your wedding there turns out just as wonderful as ours!
We just had our wedding at Deity in April 2024 and couldn’t be happier with how our special day went!
The planning process: After we toured the venue, we knew Deity was special. The pricing was very transparent and super reasonable considering everything that’s included – the venue (lounge, loft, and basement), day-of coordinator, food, $50 bar credit pp, basic décor package, and DJ. The space is gorgeous and so unique, unlike any other venue we’ve attended as guests or toured. Each floor has a purpose and accompanying vibe to match – the bridal suite is relaxing and picturesque (highly recommend adding this to your day for an added cost), the cocktail lounge is dreamy, the ceremony loft (and dinner space) is bright yet cozy, and the basement dance floor is funky and fun. Because the venue was already beautifully designed and all inclusive, the only things we needed to provide for the ceremony/reception were signage (welcome, table arrangements, his/her drinks), minimal décor/flowers (we hired a florist for the ceremony arch and did bud vases for the tables and they turned out beautiful), and dessert. Some (including me) may be nervous about all-inclusive venues, however Deity was so accommodating to the little ways in which we wanted to make our wedding unique, such as incorporating cultural outfit changes into the schedule to setting up a late-night instant noodle bar. Finally, Anna, the coordinator included with the venue, was a godsend. She made the whole wedding planning process so much easier, patiently answered all my random questions, and provided guidance where needed.
The day of: Our family and friends were blown away by the bridal suite. We were relaxed the whole morning while getting ready and got some beautiful photos to start off the day. Once the day started rolling, Anna and the whole Deity team were on top of everything. They made sure everyone was on schedule but also were flexible with last minute changes, even making sure my husband and I had private moments to ourselves. The food was delicious and plentiful. We had so many guests compliment the cocktail hour bites and dinner service, even our very picky grandma said it was the best salmon she’s ever had. The drinks were flowing and we had guests commenting on how drink service on the dance floor was genius – everyone could continue dancing and no one was ever waiting with an empty glass. Also, my husband and I were initially nervous about an in-house DJ because we are very picky with music but DJ BenHaMeen was amazing, listened to our wants and needs, and kept the dance floor lively (our photographer even complimented the music!).
All in all, we cannot recommend Deity enough. Our guests are still asking if we can have a wedding there every year (we wish!).
We recently got married at Deity in November 2023, and we couldn't be happier with the entire day – it was perfect! From start, when we first visited the venue in December 2022, to finish, our experience was nothing short of exceptional, and we wanted to share our thoughts and gratitude.
The venue itself is simply breathtaking. The moment we stepped into Deity, you could tell it holds so much unique charm and elegance. The space comes already beautifully designed, which was helpful as we did not need tons of floral arrangements/extra decorations. We were thrilled to receive countless compliments from our guests about the ambiance, and the different floors really gave the whole night a special type of vibe. The stairs were not a problem for our guests.
The food at Deity was outstanding. From the initial food tasting to the reception, every dish was delicious and beautifully presented. We received numerous compliments from our friends and family about the quality and variety of the menu.
A special shout out is for the bridal suite – the top floor area that we reserved for the entire day. We cannot understate how great this space was – we spent literally all day there, starting at 10am, for getting ready, photos, etc. It is so perfect and everything you need!
We also want to give a special shoutout to the DJ BenHaMeen who absolutely crushed the music throughout the whole evening. The energy and enthusiasm translated onto the dance floor and our guests had an incredible time dancing the night away, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience.
Lastly, we want to express our appreciation to Anna, the onsite coordinator at Deity. Anna's professionalism, attention to detail, and excellent communication made the entire wedding planning process so much more manageable. She was always available to answer our questions and provide guidance. Thank you, Anna!
Truly – our wedding at Deity was an absolute dream come true. It had everything we were looking for – in NYC, inclusive and with character. We highly recommend Deity to any couple looking for a wedding venue that exceeds expectations in every way.
Deity was the perfect spot for our non-traditional dark, romantic Friday the 13th October queer wedding! So much about the space and the team there really allows you do only the amount of DIY that YOU want to do, and filling in all the gaps for anything you DON'T.
The space itself has beautiful character while still leaving plenty of room for your own personal vibe, and even if you brought literally nothing in it would photograph and feel beautiful. We did NOT do that- we had a huge design dream, and Anna and her team worked with us to make it happen and it was so beautiful! (I will say- keep it simpler than we did lol. Loading out that massive install ON the day was the only big bummer!!)
In terms of food and bar- I worked in hospitality for a long time, so REALLY appreciated the ability to choose between an open bar or a consumption tab. Those open bar tabs are usually PADDED, and this transparency and choice was great. Our guests were all super impressed with the food- so much better than what you normally get at a catered wedding reception. Do the family style option! And again, they had everything set up to totally handle specialty cocktail menus, or are willing to let you come up with your own.
The getting ready suite is an absolute MUST. SO MUCH SPACE, so many photo ops, and a HOT TUB?! Yes please.
Anna and Caio are absolute pros and made our whole process really, really fun. I got sad when it was over mostly cause it meant I wasn't gonna see them until I could come up with another excuse to throw a party there!
Devastating. We had our wedding here and after a year of meticulous planning, excitement and no small expenditure, they simply didn’t provide enough food to go around the table, (and yes, we gave them an exact count and paid per person in advance). They serve family style, and there just was not enough, from the bowl of salad for a table of 12 that was the size of a salad for three or four people to the salmon and short ribs that ran out bu the time the skimpy “family style” serving platter went around the table. When we asked for more we were told we had ‘exceeded our quota’! It was so embarrassing and we can never get this day back. They skimped on h’ors d’oeuvres too, and didn’t have enough bartenders so people waited forever for drinks. Anna was great and very organized but she obviously doesn’t control this (very important!) part of the event. I imagine the owners increase their profit line significantly this way, at the cost of a couple’s very special day. By the time we found this out it was obviously too late, so I want to warn others.
We had a great experience with Deity - planning was easy and the staff was very helpful and communicative. The wedding day was totally stress-free for us because they took care of everything, and our guests all told us they had a blast and felt it was a deeply thoughtful event. We were also very pleased about how great the food was, and really appreciated that the team was accommodating in terms of dietary restrictions for our guests - plus, they made sure we had time to eat on the wedding day! We’d unreservedly recommend Deity to any couple looking for an affordable and low-stress venue that doesn’t feel like it cuts any corners in terms of creating a fun and special event.
We got married in Deity in late October and it was the perfect venue for our celebration! When we first saw the venue, we fell in love with the uniqueness of the venue, the perfect location for access, the history of the building, and the multiple floors. Each floor has a unique vibe, and looks gorgeous! Most importantly, we met Anna and she was fantastic! We decided immediately that we needed to book this spot for our wedding. Anna was IMMENSELY helpful in the planning process and answered all our questions patiently, recommended vendors, and provided great guidance overall. Our wedding was a Hindu ceremony and this was the first time Deity was hosting a Hindu ceremony. Anna was extremely accommodating of the various needs and traditions. The tasting was also professional, and we loved the bartender’s special creations for us (I still think of that drink!). Prices-wise, Deity is so upfront about all the costs and everything is extremely reasonable for their quality of the service. I absolutely love the all-inclusive packages – it makes everything so much easier to navigate in a world of crazy wedding prices!
On the day off, we got the suite to get ready in – and I highly highly recommend getting that suite. It’s CLUTCH to have that space to get ready in with the wedding party, and it is ENORMOUS - we had 15 people and they were all super comfortable. It also makes for extremely cute photos! Once the wedding started, Anna and Emily took over everything and treated us like royalty - no one bothered us for a single detail and everything we had thought of was taken care of! I was a bit worried about moving folks up and down the multiple floors, but the Deity team are pros and know how to handle a crowd - even a boisterous Indian one! People still come up to me and share how much they loved the venue, the drinks, and are in awe of the Deity team and their immense professionalism.
If you are looking for a unique, beautiful venue to host your wedding, don’t hesitate to book Deity! I promise you won’t regret it!
Deity was the most perfect venue to host our special day! From the very beginning of planning, they made it so easy for us. They took care of much of the decor, music, lighting, seating, catering and more! Anna was a rockstar, answering all our questions, emails and video chats before the big day. Even making sure everything ran smoothly the day-of. Emily was also so incredibly helpful on our big day and even went out of her way to help pin up my dress for me after the ceremony. The venue itself has so many picturesque features, we didn’t even need to leave the gorgeous bridal suite to capture most of our amazing photos. Finally, from our hand picked appetizers to the delicious dinner service, all of the food was incredible! Our favorite part was being privately served the appetizers and signature drinks in the suite after our ceremony. The staff at Deity made us feel like celebrities on our most special day, I couldn’t have imagined it being any more perfect!
My wife and I got married at Deity earlier this year, and we are so lucky to have found this venue! The entire experience was an A+ from start to finish.
What makes Deity so effective is in how it utilizes its space. Each floor serves a distinct purpose that flowed remarkably well for the reception - dance floor in the basement, cocktail area on the 1st floor, reception and dinner on the 2nd floor, and bridal suite / rooftop on the top floors. And we completely loved the rustic vibes coming from the exposed brick, which was prominently featured throughout the building. And last but not least, the entire staff was incredibly attentive and amiable, which encouraged us to ask questions and make requests.
A special shoutout goes to Anna - she was instrumental to making our day a complete success. Even when we needed to make last minute changes to the seating chart, she was kind and reassuring. There was no challenge too daunting for her; her poise and confidence put us at ease, both during the wedding planning and on the wedding day itself.
Thank you Deity for making our wedding day such a memorable day. You turned our vision into a reality and we couldn’t have pictured our wedding any differently!
My wife and I had our wedding at Deity on 11/11/23 and it was one of the best decisions we ever made. We were looking for a unique, warm space to have an intimate micro wedding. We live in Boston so a beautiful venue, affordability, ease, and convenience were high priority for us. Deity brought all that and more. The space is absolutely stunning, we barely had to add any extra decor. The setup was great as different parts of the wedding were on different floors so it never felt like we were in the same space all day. And the BRIDAL SUITE?! Absolutely phenomenal and made getting ready for the day super convenient. We even did our first look photos there because we were in love with the look of it and the sunlight coming through. After our ceremony we did some couple shots on the roof that were so greatz
The micro wedding package we chose was perfect for us. Ceremony, reception, food & drinks, basic decor like candles, and the DJ were included. The food was delicious and our guests LOVED the family style setup as everyone was able to try everything and serve themselves just the amount they wanted. Because we were so small we kept our reception on the main floor as opposed to adding the cellar. The main floor was great as it was spacious and everyone had room dance, sit, and chat with ease.
As for the staff, they were fantastic. Everything went smoothly and they were so keen on making sure my wife and I were taken care of the whole night. One of my big concerns was for my Grandma who sometimes has trouble walking and the shuffling between two floors was concerning. But Deity was on it, they kept the stair lift ready for her at all times and made sure she was given priority time and space to move around before the other guests. At the end of the reception, the staff packed up all our belongings and had it ready for us to take out the space so we could enjoy the entire reception with our guests.
Last but honestly most important, Anna. Anna was amazing to us. From the first FaceTime meeting she was kind, straight forward, detailed, and excited for us. I’ve never planned or seen a wedding be planned before, so I was struggling with what to do. Anna thought of everything. She assisted with timelines, payment reminders, streamlining decor, making suggestions for things I didn’t think about, and answered any question I had. She even assisted with setting up our after party at Someday Bar next door, which worked out perfectly. Anna was so easy to work with and accommodated me during the limited in person visits I could make. I can’t imagine not having her to assist us with our wedding. She truly made the Deity experience top notch.
Deity provided us with an absolutely beautiful wedding. We did not have the overwhelming stress, worries, or mishaps that we have heard usually occur with planning a wedding. Deity made it seamless so we could just enjoy the process and our day. We recommend to the highest degree. THANK YOU, DEITY! ❤️
We are absolutely thrilled to share about our experience at Deity! We were so happy with our choice to have our wedding at Deity and from the very first moment we stepped foot in the space, we knew it was the right place for us. Deity is unlike any venue I have ever been at because of the four floors and nearly all inclusive and transparent pricing. I had made a massive spreadsheet trying to cost everything out at other venues during the research stage and was shocked by how challenging it was to even figure out how much things cost at other places. With Deity, the pricing structure is clear and transparent so you don't have surprises down the line.
One thing we LOVED about the venue was the four different floors (we rented the bridal suite- no regrets!!). Every floor had its own character, offering diverse settings that catered perfectly to different aspects of our celebration. Whether it was the lovely ceremony and dinner space, the rooftop terrace for photos, the intimate lounge for cocktails, or the lively basement dance floor (complete with disco ball)—each space contributed to making our day truly magical.
Let's talk about the food—they knocked it out of the park! We have had too many experiences at weddings with cold, flavorless chicken breasts so we really wanted to find a venue that takes food as seriously as we do. The fact that Deity has food as a part of the package is not only helpful logistically (not managing a million vendors) but it was truly exquisite. The appetizers were amazing- so many great options all excellently executed and the dinner was incredible. Everyone commented that this was the best wedding food they had ever had. The salmon was cooked perfectly- I don't even know how you do that for a large event, and the mac and cheese was a crowd favorite. Additionally, the bar was excellent- we loved our signature cocktails!
Now, let's highlight the stars of the show—the incredibly attentive staff. Anna, in particular, was an absolute gem! Her professionalism, warmth, and dedication made a world of difference. From the planning stages to the execution on the big day, Anna went above and beyond to ensure everything was flawless. Her attention to detail and willingness to accommodate our requests made us feel truly special.
Our wedding day was more than we could have ever imagined, and a significant part of that is owed to the venue and its exceptional team. They turned our dreams into reality, creating an unforgettable experience not just for us but for all our guests.
We can't recommend this venue highly enough. Deity—with Anna and the whole team—is a no-brainer!
People always say that wedding planning is stressful. And as a November 2023 newlywed, I can confidently say that is NOT the case when getting married at Deity. First of all, Deity has everything in one place, with no extra fees. Your staff, catering, bar, DJ (!!!), rentals, and the BEST day-of coordinator that you can ever imagine (shout out to Anna) are all included, not to mention top-tier.
Anna made this process exciting and easy. We met leading up to the wedding and she talked us through the entire schedule and ensured we were prepared to make every decision about the day. Then, in the last weeks before the wedding, I'd ask her about a specific detail or addition and she said yes right away to each request and executed them flawlessly. We wanted black table cloths for the cocktail hour? Yes, done. We wanted to add a scent to the room with reed diffusers? She'd set them up, prioritizing the spaces we were most excited about.
And on the day of the wedding, we felt so calm. Anna handled everything, from moving people's dinner seating around at the last minute, to supporting my elder, less mobile relatives throughout the evening so my family didn't have to. She was with us for rehearsal and helped my friend, a first-time officiant, feel supported and prepared to lead every part of the ceremony. She made sure all the borrowed items got back to their original owners so I didn't have to. She got us water on the dance floor throughout the night. I have never been so taken care of.
And of COURSE you're booking because Deity is beautiful. We got SO many compliments on the space, on the food, on everything. It really was the most perfect day of our lives, and we could not have pulled it off without such professionals. Thank you to Anna and Caio and the entire Deity team for a day we'll never forget.
PS. book the bridal suite. Nothing like getting ready with your loved ones in such a bright beautiful space.
This venue easily blew our minds. From the venue itself, package deals they have, to the wonderful staff. It was incredible from start to finish. Looking forward to a place to get married isn’t fun but Deity made it easy. Our coordinator Anna was fantastic at guiding us throughout the whole process. We loved her. How can we forget the chef who supplied us and our families beautiful dishes for our big day! HIGHLY recommend this beautiful place!
I cannot say enough positive things about our wedding experience here. We got married a week ago and I’m still on cloud nine. The venue is beautiful and it’s so nice to have everything happening in one building but still with a change of scenery. The roof is great for pictures and a first look, and the loft is beautiful with all the little lights. The basement makes the reception feel very separate in a good way, and I think all the changes in scenery made the day feel longer. The venue also feels very Brooklyn, which we loved.
I will note the stairs to the basement reception space can be a bit of a challenge for older guests, but the staff was helpful in providing assistance and this didn’t end up being a problem for our older guests, including one in a walker. There is a chairlift between the ground floor cocktail lounge and loft ceremony space, but if someone really can’t navigate stairs at all, the reception space won’t be accessible for them.
It’s so helpful to have everything included with the venue so you don’t have to coordinate a bunch of vendors. We also had severe allergies that we had to accommodate for the groom and several guests, which Deity was incredibly understanding and accommodating of. The space is nice enough that you don’t really need florals (aside from maybe a few things to decorate the geometric arch in the loft) or decor—the included linens look great and the included candles feel cozy and cohesive. It’s also nice not to have to worry about tips for the staff, as it’s all included in the total. The only thing to be aware of is the additional bar charge—it can get a bit pricey if you do a full open bar and cover that tab, but you can also opt for a cash bar and have your guests pay.
The Deity team is so helpful and answered all of our questions beforehand with patience. The day of coordinators keep things running so smoothly throughout the day, and once we started I didn’t feel like we had to be in charge of anything. Anna and Emily told us where to be, worked with our photographer so we could get all the shots we wanted, and would grab us if we were needed
If it’s in your budget I would recommend renting the bridal suite, because it’s so helpful to be able to get ready at the venue and things feel less rushed. It’s also gorgeous, the lighting is fantastic, and you can get some really great shots.
The drinks were great and the food was excellent, and we loved that they set aside some time during cocktail hour for us to eat together, get some one-on-one time, and make sure we had all the hors d’oeuvres. Family style was great, so that everyone got to try both entree options. I just wish we could have taken home the leftovers, and that cocktail hour was like a half hour longer.
Overall I would highly recommend this venue, as long as your guests can navigate stairs with some help.
TL;DR: The inclusive nature of the venue alleviates a lot of the work you might otherwise have to do planning a wedding, and while it's not cheap I do think it helps the booking remain in your budget without costs ballooning out of control. Nearly every single guest we’ve spoken to after the wedding has told us we had the most beautiful, efficiently-run wedding they have ever attended, with the best food they've had at a wedding.
After an extensive search for budget-friendly wedding venues in the New York area, we discovered that Deity's microwedding packages are unparalleled. The comprehensive wedding packages cover almost everything you need, sparing us the need to spend extra on decorations.
The venue itself is truly remarkable, and all of our guests commented on the unique character of the building. Anna, the dedicated wedding coordinator, proved invaluable at every stage of the planning process. She seamlessly coordinated with our chosen vendors, ensuring the smooth delivery of flowers and cake before our arrival. On the wedding day, Anna and her team orchestrated the entire event, allowing my wife and me to fully enjoy the moment. Even when we forgot to print out a seating chart, Anna efficiently helped us resolve the issue on the morning of the event.
The culinary experience exceeded expectations, considering the price point. The food was truly fantastic. The menu offered diverse options, making it easy to accommodate dietary preferences, including vegan and vegetarian choices. The venue even accommodated a vegan guest with a nut allergy, showcasing their flexibility. The bartender provided excellent service, and our guests thoroughly enjoyed the open bar.
Navigating the wedding industry as a lesbian couple presented challenges (even in New York), but Deity's LGBTQ-inclusive environment made us feel completely at ease. Our guests, regardless of their backgrounds, felt genuinely welcome.
We wholeheartedly recommend Deity and extend our sincere gratitude to Anna and the entire team for their exceptional service, contributing to the flawless execution of our special day.
Believe the hype: Deity Events is AH-MAZING!
We recently had the pleasure of celebrating our special day at Deity Events over Labor Day weekend this year, and we couldn't be happier with our choice to use them as our wedding venue/primary wedding planning team. My partner and I decided to pay entirely for our wedding, and we booked the venue back in 2021. From the very beginning of this process, the owners Anna and Caio assisted the entire planning process with care, warmth and the utmost professionalism.
The main reason we chose Deity is because of their "all-inclusive" approach to event planning. The venue itself has a rooftop, bridal suite, dinner/ceremony hall, bar, and dance floor; and to top things off, they recently added an incredible chef to the mix. With Deity, we were able to take care of our venue, bridal/getting ready suite, bar, meals, and DJ/dance floor all within a single plan and contract! I cannot begin to express just how much that allowed us to have a seamless setup and execution the day of. Additionally, for what they didn't have in-house, Anna was fantastic about suggesting other vendors and setup details based on the wealth of experience they've had.
The Deity venue itself is quite magical even without decor, with a natural and rustic feel, so you can really calibrate your event from minimalist and simple to glamorous maximalist. In addition to silk flowers (which Anna expertly suggested), we bought a few simple garlands and sashes to accent, and we really didn't need much more than that, which helped save a ton of money and tear down headache. Their bridal suite and rooftop were also awesome and everyone was talking about it, and the homey kitchen allowed for us to coordinate breakfast and lunch platters for our friends and crew with ease. And our rooftop pictures against Brooklyn's skyscrapers and against their rustic entryway (with a Romeo & Juliet window!!) are absolutely stunning!
The day of was incredible, and honestly, everyone was talking about how Anna and the Deity crew were spectacular in keeping the day going in a timely manner.
Seriously, our experience at Deity Events was nothing short of perfection, and we are so grateful for the wonderfully perfect memories created in that beautiful space and for the dedicated team that made our dream wedding a reality. Believe the hype and other reviews: Deity Events truly does live up to their name and reputation!
If food is your biggest concern, as it was my biggest concern, trust me, you’re in good hands as the Head Chef is a wunderkind in the kitchen. Deity provides you with a staff from top to bottom that works tirelessly to make your wedding a dream come true. It may start with Anna (or Caio) who will be attentive to your every wish, but every member of the Deity staff will make you feel like your event means more than anything else on that day. Affordable prices, plus an ability to provide most of the things you’ll need makes this place an easy recommendation, and one you’ll certainly never regret. Can’t wait to hold my 10 year anniversary here!
PS: Make sure you take pictures with Anna. She deserves all of the credit you’ve read about!
My husband and I recently had the pleasure of hosting our wedding at Deity venue on October 6, 2023, and I must say it was an absolutely amazing and unforgettable experience. Despite booking the venue in late June with only three months to plan, everything went smoothly, thanks to the incredible team at Deity.
Anna, the wedding coordinator, was an absolute delight to work with. She was kind, helpful, and provided excellent suggestions and advice for our big day. Her attention to detail was impressive, and she had our timeline down perfectly. Anna went above and beyond to assist us in any way she could, ensuring that our wedding day was executed flawlessly.
The entire Deity team was experienced and showed great kindness to us and our guests. Even when unexpected events occurred on the day of our wedding, Anna was there to ensure that both our guests and we had an amazing time. Their professionalism and dedication were truly commendable.
One of the things we loved about Deity was that many items and services were already included in the price, such as linens, food and drinks, and the DJ. This was a huge relief, as it saved us from having to add on additional expenses that are often associated with other venues. The pricing was upfront and transparent, which we appreciated. However, it's worth noting that if you have a crowd that loves to drink, there may be an extra tab at the end of the night. As long as you budget for it, it shouldn't be a problem.
The Deity suite and rooftop added an extra touch of glamour and relaxation to getting ready on our special day and provided amazing photo opportunities. I absolutely loved getting ready there with my friends and family and taking our first look photos on the rooftop! It's an additional cost to use for the day, but if you can add this, it's well worth it.
In the end, the overall atmosphere at Deity is beautiful, intimate, and fun! Our guests had an absolute blast and are still raving about the romantic ceremony, delicious food, impeccable service, stunning decor, fantastic music, and unique vibes. It was a whirlwind, but everyone ate, drank and danced in celebration all night and we loved every minute of it!
If you're looking for a wedding venue that breaks away from the typical ballroom style, I highly recommend considering Deity. Their exceptional team, inclusive packages, and remarkable atmosphere will make your wedding day truly memorable!
We (bride & groom) and all of our guests (of all ages from near and far) love Deity as a wedding venue. It had everything we wanted for the best price in NYC. The cost was very reasonable for this area of Brooklyn, including the use of 3 floors, hors d’oeuvres, dinner, $40/pp bar credit, DJ, and gratuity (saved so much on the gratuity, DJ and bar, alone, which allowed us to spring for an extra premium entrée, valet parking, the bridal suite, and a henna artist, who set up shop at one of the tables in the cocktail lounge). The space has everything you need (ceremony space, which flips into the dinner space, cocktail hour space, and cellar/dance floor space). We highly recommend the bridal suite (gorgeous inside and roof space, huge, and worth every penny). The tasting was a bit pricey, but very educational-we had our menu set before the tasting but ended up getting totally different items and our menu ended up being the best wedding food our guests ever experienced (everyone tried everything and finished their meals). For passed hors d’oeuvres we highly recommend the chicken & waffles, spanakopita, stuffed mushrooms, crab cakes and sliders (we also got the potatoes w/ caviar, but they weren’t as well-received), and for dinner we recommend the filet mignon (which you can cut with a fork) w/ horseradish sauce, seared tuna (well worth the extra per person cost for this second premium entree), citrus salad, tomato mozzarella salad, and orzo (all delicious with rave reviews). The vegetable wellington was also a hit with our vegetarian guests. The fact that everything is served family style made the service much faster and gave everyone ample time to finish dinner and enjoy the evening. The wine selection was great, too, as was the full premium bar which also included frozen drinks (we only ended up paying $3,000 after the $40 per person bar credits, included in the per person pricing, were used) for 115 guests. The staff was super knowledgeable and friendly. And the DJ, BenHa Meen, was an absolute pro (our guests all got their groove on), and the fact that he is included in the wedding package made it even better. At first, we were concerned about the size of the space and all the stairs, but everyone had a great time, from our youngest to oldest guests (and the chair lift to the ceremony/dinner space was very useful). We received consistent feedback from many guests saying it was the best wedding they ever attended in terms of venue (a West Village native in the food and beverage industry said it’s his new favorite event venue), food, and service. One of our flower girls had a mini breakdown before show time and the Deity staff expertly calmed her down. There is nothing else you could want AND this place will not break your bank, which is just phenomenal for New York City. Thank you SO much to Deity for the best night of our lives.
We had our wedding in October 2022 at Deity and we loved everything about the process from end to end. Caio is really friendly, and Anna kept everything smooth sailing from intake to the big day. We had a number of cultural ceremonies and the team was incredible accommodating. We toured numerous venues for a small intimate wedding and Deity was so friendly, they know what they're doing, and all around such a great value. 100% recommend!
Not only is Deity a gorgeous venue space, but the staff were amazing to me and my family. The DJ is provided by the venue and he was so professional and did a great job. The coordinator Anna and her assistant were amazing and so efficient. I can't recommend this place enough! The food was so good too. And the best part, this place is so affordable compared to other venues within Brooklyn.
We had a beautiful, fairytale of a wedding at Deity! They were very accommodating and get this, DOG FRIENDLY! We were able to make our pup a key part of our ceremony. The venue is beautiful, the food was fantastic. Just overall, perfect.
Deity was the highlight of our wedding! We booked it immediately after touring and meeting Caio, and it was one of the best decisions we made. Caio was so kind and knowledgeable, and it was clear that he really cares about what he does and wants to make your wedding day as great as possible.
To start, the team at Deity makes the whole wedding planning process enjoyable. This venue provides so much, which makes the process of choosing vendors way less stressful. It’s so affordable for all you get. Catering, some decor, and a DJ are all included in the price. The best inclusion was our wedding coordinator, Anna. She made the process so easy and was one of the best people to have around on our wedding day. She was our main point of contact leading up to the wedding, and she answered all of our questions and gave amazing suggestions. Anna is the main reason the planning process was enjoyable. There was a moment right before our ceremony where the bridal suite was a pretty hectic with people, and Anna suggested we move everyone downstairs to take 10 minutes to ourselves before we really start the night. It was such a great suggestion, and we really needed those 10 minutes. We also got 15 minutes to ourselves during cocktail hour to sit and eat all the apps we picked. These little moments ended up being so special and helped us slow down to take in the night.
Moreover, the space is so unique and beautiful. The different floors gave each part of the night its own special feeling. Getting ready and having the bridal suite in the morning was phenomenal. It is such a gorgeous area for getting ready pictures, and had ample space for my fairly large bridal party. There was one point of the day where me and my bridesmaids laid in the bed with iced coffee…. A much needed moment you couldn’t get anywhere else lol! And the roof was PERFECT for a first look. I can’t wait to see our pictures in all the unique spaces. I was a little nervous leading up to the wedding about having to move our 100+ guests between floors, but it went with ease!! The staff made sure to get the names of guests who may need extra time moving through the spaces and gave them just that. Our guests actually ended up really enjoying this element of the venue and kept saying it was unlike any wedding they’ve been to. We also LOVED that moving to the cellar to party gave people who wouldn’t normally leave their table the chance to actually be up and participate.
Most importantly, the food!! And the drinks!!! We still talk about our tasting LOL. Seriously, we were able to try 33 things at our tasting, and everything was so fantastic. It made it hard to choose for the actual wedding day. I’ve heard that lots of couples don’t even get the chance to eat on their wedding day… not us! We were able to enjoy every single thing we ordered. We also made signature drinks and one of them was the bartender’s own creation, which was amazing. Our guests loved the food and the fact that it was served family style so everyone could have some of everything.
Overall, we are so SO happy with how our wedding turned out, and a lot of that we owe to the team at Deity. We cannot recommend them enough. We cannot thank them enough!
By far the best decision we made was to have our wedding here. We viewed the venue after a coworkers recommendation and loved how beautiful and unique the space was. The pricing was very straightforward and fit within our budget so we booked our date during our initial tour. From that moment on, Anna was our contact and she was so easy and wonderful to work with. We had countless emails back and forth over these last few months and she was always so kind and professional. Then our wedding day came and I was just honestly so blown away! I had already liked Anna but after our wedding it’s now love! Anna and the staff were absolutely amazing at every single part of a very busy day. She made sure we had everything we needed in the right place for the reception/ceremony, things no one else remembered. I would look for something and it was already set up and done! She and the rest of the staff made the day absolutely seamless and so stress free. The food was so delicious, we received so many compliments on both the cocktail hour and dinner. Even our photographer who’s done over 50 weddings there said the food was the best he’s had there to date. Everything was packed up so neatly for us to take home at the end of the night. I had mentioned maybe changing into another dress for the reception and when I decided it was time my second dress and shoes were already waiting for me ready to go. Anna even bustled my dress for me after the ceremony! By that point she felt like part of our wedding party! The suite/roof really added to our experience that day too. It was such a roomy and beautiful space for our whole family to get ready and spend time together. We got so many great pictures on the roof with the city skyline. It ended up being a beautiful day but in the weeks leading up to our big day weather was not really a concern of ours being that everything is inside. Our guests loved the space and how unique and beautiful it looked. Moving to different rooms really creates different vibes throughout the night. I really can’t say enough good things about the space and the staff!!! It could not have gone any better! It really was the best day and I have everyone there to thank for that. 1000000/10!
August 6th, 2023, will forever be etched in our memories, not just as the day we said "I do," but also as the day we experienced the magic of Deity.
From the moment we stepped into Deity, we were captivated by its beauty. The venue effortlessly marries elegance with charm, creating an ambiance that's both intimate and grand. Every corner, every detail, whispered tales of love and celebration, making it the perfect backdrop for our special day.
But what truly set our experience apart was the staff. Their dedication to ensuring our day was nothing short of perfect was evident in every gesture, every smile. And at the heart of this incredible team was Anna. As our coordinator, Anna was nothing short of a fairy godmother. With a meticulous eye for detail and a passion that's palpable, she orchestrated an evening that was seamless and unforgettable. Every moment flowed into the next, allowing us to be present and soak in the love and joy that surrounded us.
Now, let's talk about the life of the party - DJ Jamal. If you're looking for someone to elevate your event, look no further. His impeccable taste in music, coupled with his ability to read the room, ensured that our guests were on their feet all night long. From timeless Latin classics to Hip Hop hits, and of course hitting every point on our music wish list. Jamal's set had something for everyone. We can't recommend him highly enough!
And of course, what's a celebration without delectable food and drinks? Deity truly outdid themselves. Each dish was a culinary masterpiece, tantalizing our taste buds and leaving us craving for more. The drinks, crafted to perfection, were the cherry on top of an already sumptuous feast.
If you're on the hunt for a wedding venue that offers not just a beautiful space but also an experience, Deity is the place to be. With a team that's as passionate as they are skilled, and offerings that are high-level tasty, your special day is bound to be everything you've dreamed of and more.
Thank you, Deity, for making our wedding day truly magical. We couldn't have asked for a better place to start our forever.
From our initial tour of the venue to packing up at the end of our wedding night, the experience at Deity was fantastic. The unique character of the venue immediately drew us in. We loved how it appeared unassuming from the street (we'd actually walked by it dozens of times and never knew it was an event space), but then had so much charm and possibility when you entered. Anna, the coordinator extraordinaire, was such a pleasure to work with and truly made the planning process painless. Anna always exhibited happy patience and flexibility while fielding all of our questions over email or phone as we put together the event. Her recommendations for local vendors were excellent and she made us feel like we were doing great, even when we felt there were too many details still left to finalize. And, although the space doesn't need any additional décor, Anna collaborated with us to add some small extra special touches that we wanted to incorporate that brought our vision of the special day to life.
Deity also provided a delicious food selection and amazing staff for our event. We opted for a standing cocktail style dinner to facilitate chances for folks to mingle and celebrate together. The staff was attentive and made sure everyone got an opportunity to try everything. And the chefs created delightful additions, which of course cemented the rave reviews from our guests about the food and drinks. In the days that followed the wedding, we heard consistently from our guests how we “threw one hell of a party".
For any folks looking to host their event at Deity, we cannot provide higher praises. If your event would benefit from using the suite upstairs or the rooftop, you should do both. We did and have no regrets, even though the weather only gave us a small window to use the roof. The suite was the perfect place for our family and friends to hang out together before the festivities began (which ensured that all of the ladies in the wedding didn't have to worry about messing up their hair in the rain) and some of our best pictures came together in that brief window of sunlight on the roof.
Caio (the owner of Deity) and Anna were a pleasure to work with. Collaborating with great people who want your event to go off as perfectly as you do makes the whole endeavor of planning a million little details so much easier. Deity was the only venue we saw that was 100% transparent about their pricing. There were no surprise charges and fewer moving parts for us to worry about. Which, at the end of the day, just made our decision to work with this amazing team the second best one behind saying yes.
We got married at Deity in May 2022, but wanted to share our experience there. The staff at Deity made our day one to remember. Deity is a lovely venue with a surprise on each floor. The vibe is so cozy, warm, romantic, and welcoming. We were not looking for a typical catering hall wedding venue, and no other place we visited came close to Deity.
Anna, the wedding coordinator, was simply incredible. She is fantastic at helping brides, grooms, and everyone in-between create their visions. She answered every email I sent and every request I suggested.
The food tasting we had at Deity was nothing short of terrific, and the food the day-of was no different. We chose the family-style dining and it was a huge hit with our guests - everyone was able to try a little bit of this and that. Dessert was not included, which was fine for us.
Deity offers a DJ at no additional cost, a vendor they have worked with many times in the past. As we got closer to the wedding, we felt a little bit nervous about this. However, we were wildly impressed with Ben - he definitely picked up on the music we were looking for. I would pay for his DJ services independently, outside of Deity... that's how much we liked him!
The bridal suite is absolutely beautiful. Though it is not included in the pricing of the venue, we felt it was worth paying for (especially for pictures, hair, and makeup). I do wish Deity would permit the couple and bridal party to use the suite for the duration of the night, since it's a cost the couple opts to pay additionally for.
We had 117 guests attend, but felt 100 would better suit the venue for space reasons.
It's worth mentioning that while we were venue shopping, we felt like there were costs for every little thing. Deity does not surprise you with costs; there were NO hidden secrets, unexpected surprises, or add-ons for every aspect of a wedding where it becomes overwhelming. The costs that we received in December 2021 were the costs that we paid in May 2022.
I wish we could do this day over again and again for an eternity. Thank you to the Deity staff that made it all possible!
We had the most fantastic time getting married at Deity! We were immediately impressed after taking the tour. So much is included in the reasonable price, the interior is beautiful, and the get-ready suite and rooftop is a major plus. We were not disappointed.
We knew we were going to have a small wedding with a bit of a complicated intercultural ceremony. Anna worked patiently with us for months to pin down every moment of the day. It was also very easy to plan using their recommended vendors (Stonefruit Botanical and Le Image), since they were already familiar with the space.
We made so many precious memories on the day-of — despite the torrential rain! The ceremony went perfectly, the food and drinks and dancing were great, and our guests had a fabulous time. The two of us had a lot of fun, too
We were a bit sad that the rain stopped us from taking pictures on the rooftop. But later in the night, Anna noticed that the rain had let up, and took us up for some portraits. That was so thoughtful! She also made sure we had a private moment after the ceremony to eat and catch our breaths, which felt magical after such a whirlwind of an evening.
Overall it was an amazing experience. We are deeply grateful to Anna and the whole team for giving us such a beautiful day. We highly recommend Deity!
From the initial phases of wedding planning to fine-tuning logistics in advance through the day-of execution, we thoroughly enjoyed having our wedding at Deity. The idea of an all-inclusive wedding reception venue in Brooklyn appealed to us, and after watching the video on the website, we filed an inquiry to learn more. Shortly thereafter, we received a very detailed but easy-to-understand FAQ from Anna which featured transparent pricing and honestly answered most questions we had relating to event logistics and sample menus.
We enjoyed the tour of Deity that Anna held for us, and talked though further details as to how our wedding day could be handled. Seeing the unique industrial chic aesthetic - modern but elegant - and the novel idea of having different parts of the night move throughout the different rooms to keep the party energy flowing really clicked with us. The space seemed like the right size for our wedding - we were estimating about 110-120 people - and the accommodations that could be made for attendees with mobility issues were also helpful. Deity was the first and only venue we toured, as we realized it was a perfect fit for us.
We also appreciated having easy access to multiple transit options (as many of our guests were traveling to New York without cars) and a location that was easy to reach after the ceremony at our church located in another neighborhood of Brooklyn.
Another facet that piqued our interest was the approved vendor list which helped us minimize having to search for vendors on our own (and they already knew how to work well with Deity).
We eagerly returned to the venue for the menu tasting event and enjoyed being able to fine-tune both our food and beverage choices for our special day. It was also appreciated that the menu had a variety of flavors and cuisine styles to appeal to many different palettes, and Anna assured us that guests who had dietary restrictions would be taken care of accordingly.
Everything was handled professionally, warmly, seamlessly, and genuinely; we didn’t feel like it was a “business” but felt as if we were being treated like part of the Deity family. Loading in our various items on the day before our wedding such as the seating chart, photos, favors, and cookies, was handled quickly and efficiently; loading out on the night of went just as smoothly (everything was so neatly repackaged).
On our wedding day, Anna was on-site to supervise and handle anything that came up - from helping Jennifer with an issue with her dress, to making sure that we both were hydrated, fed, and as calm as we could be (a wedding day can be a little stressful). Anna and her team went above and beyond, even paying attention to details that we didn’t even think to account for, such as moving flower arrangements around.
The DJ clicked immediately with the vibe of most of the people on the dance floor (who were primarily in their 30s and 40s) and all enjoyed the diverse mix of music we heard. At the same time, other guests who wanted a quieter time or just wanted to go talk for a while were able to hang out in the upstairs lounge but not feel left out from the party.
Our guests informed us afterwards that they liked it for many of the same reasons we did - the menu, moving through the different rooms giving a flow of energy to the night, the unique aesthetic, and being able to spend time in the lounge or on the dancefloor later on. We were so happy with how things were handled at Deity and couldn’t be happier with our choice of venue for our special day.
My husband and I recently had the pleasure of hosting our wedding at Deity and were blown away by the entire experience. From the moment we stepped foot into the venue, we knew we had found the perfect place to celebrate our special day.
The first thing that struck us was the venue's unique ambiance. Deity combines old-world charm with modern elegance. The beautifully restored building showcases exquisite architectural details, creating a romantic and intimate atmosphere that instantly won our hearts. The carefully curated decor and tasteful lighting enhanced the aesthetic, setting the stage for a truly magical wedding celebration.
The staff at Deity were an absolute delight to work with. From the initial planning to the day of the event, their professionalism and attention to detail were incredible. Our day of coordinator, Anna, was incredibly knowledgeable, organized, and accommodating. She worked with us to understand our vision and executed it flawlessly. The entire team, including the waitstaff and bartenders, were friendly, efficient, and went above and beyond to ensure every guest felt welcomed and well taken care of. A day of coordinator can make or break your wedding, and Anna is the BEST in the business – our entire wedding party still talks about her as a highlight of the day!!
One of the standout features of Deity is its versatility. The venue offers multiple spaces, allowing for a seamless flow throughout the event, including getting ready in the suite (worth every penny!). We started with a heartfelt ceremony in the stunning Loft space, followed by a cocktail hour in the speakeasy-esque bar. The transition between spaces was effortless (which was our biggest concern with the multi-level venue), and our guests were in awe of the seamless coordination. The highlight of the evening was the reception in the Cellar, a hidden gem with its exposed brick walls and disco ball. It provided the perfect setting for an unforgettable evening of dancing.
Another aspect that impressed us was the culinary experience at Deity. The food was absolutely divine! The in-house chef is incredibly talented and our guests raved about the delicious hors d'oeuvres and main courses. We chose the standard family-style option and are glad we did – guests loved the ability to try all of the main dishes and sides.
Many other reviews mention that Deity is all-inclusive – this helped contain costs, have a seamless experience, and reduced the number of choices we had to make. The DJ being included was fantastic – we were a bit worried about not being able to choose our own, but Ben was amazing during planning and on the day of the wedding. For the vendors we did need (photographer, videographer, florist, dessert) we took advantage of Deity’s suggestions and were thrilled with the quality of each vendor recommended (Photography: Robert Carlo, Videography: Le Image, Florist: Charlotte Taylor at Floral Heights, Empire Cake, CityCakes).
To sum it up, our wedding at Deity in Brooklyn was an absolute dream come true. The combination of the venue's breathtaking ambiance, attentive staff, exceptional cuisine, and seamless execution made for an unforgettable experience. If you're searching for a wedding venue that exudes charm, sophistication, and provides top-notch service, Deity should be at the top of your list. We wholeheartedly recommend Deity to anyone seeking a memorable and enchanting wedding day. Thank you Anna, Caio, and the Deity team!!!
Deity and their staff were absolutely phenomenal in helping plan and execute our wedding day. Anna prioritized my husband Luis and I in making sure that the day was moving smoothly and unfolding as we wanted it to.
Deity not only hosted our wedding but also had previously hosted the wedding of my brother and sister-in-law. When we decided on Deity, the team spent months chatting with us to help us nail down all the details. They also prioritized the things that mattered to us and helped us make it happen- from the personal touches of a mariachi to our polaroid guest book to the delicious food to the wine we picked (which mattered a lot to my sommelier husband!).
Above all, the staff led by Anna that day are amazing humans! When COVID impacted a number of our guests being able to travel in for the wedding, Anna handled a fragile day with such care and patience. She was as protective of me and my husband as our wedding party was. She also helped coordinate with my friends to find unique ways to incorporate some of my family who were unable to attend because of the pandemic.
Deity truly helped make one of the most important days in our lives memorable and magical. When we think back to our day, we always smile and Deity had a huge part in that.
For me, the venue search was draining. Venues were too expensive, too far away, too small, too tacky, too unresponsive, too smelly (yep), or required too much DIY.
Enter Deity. Centrally located, all-inclusive, fairly priced for trendy NYC, responsive, and cute but not cookie-cutter. We booked a Thursday in October.
Things moved fast in the month before the wedding. We picked from their menu, selected our bar type (premium, with Anna generously hunting down more affordable wine when we requested), chose a seating arrangement option, sent guest counts, and wired the remainder of the cost. We also had a call with DJ Ben.
For me, Deity made for an elegant, low-waste, lowish-stress wedding. We had a loose Old New York theme but it could be a modern castle, a chill Gatsby mansion, a wild rave, whatever vibe you want. You could bring in zero decor and the place will still look good to your guests. Deity staff have the business down to a science.
Our Big Day went as well as anyone could hope. I’m so thankful to everyone at Deity. In times of brain fog, I could turn to Anna for decisiveness: “No, don’t keep your phone on you.” “Time to go upstairs.” “You should eat now.” Just as I was thinking, “I’m tired of these heels,” the staff turned up with my sneakers. While a few guests found them a bit strict, I honestly feel the staff only ever had my and my husband’s best interests in mind. And we had a few lovable delinquents on our guest list!
Here’s some info that might be helpful.
- Have the cash. Most of my vendors expected cash and Deity charges a fee for credit cards.
- If you’re having your ceremony at Deity, it’s an even greater deal. We didn’t save anything by having it offsite at St Agnes.
- LESS IS MORE. We could have skipped centerpieces. (You’re only in the dining room for an hour.) We also brought photo booth props, bathroom baskets, cake stands, favors, etc. The amazing Deity staff packed up for us but loading our things into the car after the wedding was an avoidable pain.
- Designate loved ones to disperse tips, mind valuables, ensure you get important photos, pack up, etc. Again: Deity staff is amazing, too.
- Our 113 guests fit in Deity just fine! We expected 123 and had 10 no-shows. (Weddingwire.com is great for seating charts.)
- Keep your expectations manageable. That might mean cutting back on all the actions/photos/speeches. (In my rush for sunset photos, I put my reception dress on wrong.) If you’re not sure what’s realistic, ask Deity.
- Be prepared to laugh off the things that will go wrong.
- Book hotels early for the best deal. The local Holiday Inn was OK.
- Consider an informal afterparty. Deity was firm about our end time but put us in touch with Someday Bar next door, where we enjoyed an extra few hours together.
- If you order special meals, like gluten free or vegan, make sure your guests know those will arrive after the other food is served.
- Budget for when the bar tab exceeds what was included in the venue fee—or guests can pick up their own tabs. It’s flexible!
- Deity’s suite and rooftop is an added expense with a number of restrictions but it was 100% worth it for us. I can’t imagine us squeezing into a hotel before rushing to the church. I wish we’d taken advantage of the rooftop more but there was no spare time. Just be mindful of valuables: The staff kindly packs everything but it will sit in the lounge before you pack it into a car.
Stay strong, wedding planners! You can put your trust in Deity!
When we decided to get married my husband and I had always wanted to do an adventure elopement, but we knew our families wanted to have a party to celebrate with us. So instead of forfeiting our dreams, we decided to do both! We planned to have the party one month after our elopement and contacted soooo many venues, trying to find the perfect one that wouldn't break the bank and we felt we could trust. My sisters helped us in our search after a few disappointing weeks of contacting venues that felt like wedding factories that didn't actually care about us. My sisters were the ones who found Deity and from the first email we received from them, we knew they were different. We scheduled a walk through with the owner Caio and left feeling so elated that we couldn't wait to confirm a date. Caio wasn't like the other people we met with. He was very honest, kind, and we could tell he generally cared to make our wedding one of the best days of our lives. The space itself is a beautiful historic building with a ton of character and didn't feel like every other wedding venue. It was exactly what we were looking for. We made a date night of the food and drink tasting and literally had a blast with the other couples there. We rented the bridal suite to get ready in and take family photos. My husband and a few friends spent the morning swimming in the pool on the roof until it was time for them to get ready.
The party itself was absolutely perfect. Everything ran so smoothly and on time. Our DJ was literally amazing, the food was incredible and we even had a chance to thank the chef in person which my husband appreciated as he used to work in a kitchen. Anna, the day of coordinator, helped us with all of our questions and timeline in the months leading up to our party. The day of she made sure we had everything we needed and that we stayed fed and hydrated. We could not have asked for a better person to be there for us and she was such a pleasure to work with from start to finish. Our families loved the venue and thought it was such a "unique and cool place to have a wedding". They still talk about how much fun they had at Deity, including my 94yr old grandma who absolutely loved everything about it. We knew we made the right decision booking Deity the day we met with Caio, but looking back months later we feel so lucky to have found such an amazing venue and so incredibly grateful to Caio, Anna, and the whole team at Deity.
Deity was the absolute best choice for our wedding venue. From our first communication with Anna the coordinator we knew it was the place for us. We loved that Deity was almost entirely all inclusive, We just needed to book our florist, photographer and cake/ desserts. We were relieved we did not have to worry about booking a DJ since it was also included at Deity. DJ Ben was great, exactly what we hoped for. Our guests are still raving about how great the food was. Unfortunately we hardly ate any of it, even though Anna and the staff arranged a platter of food for us to enjoy while we had a private moment after the ceremony. We were just too excited to eat, we so regret not just relaxing and sampling all of the amazing food. My husband and I were understandably nervous on the day of our wedding, we would have been lost without Anna. Everyone at Deity is amazing but Anna is truly special. She is unflappable, there is no problem she can't find a solution for. My parents are still talking about how exceptional she was. We are so grateful that we found Deity! We're already looking for an excuse to have another event there. We will cherish the memories from our wedding forever!
