About this vendor
Hi, I'm Jane from DejaneJanedeArt, a watercolor artist based in Bay Area Northern California, but available for destination weddings internationally.
Want to give a wedding gift that’s as unique and personal as the couple’s love story?
Live wedding painting is an interactive and memorable experience. This allows your guests to watch as I create a beautiful artwork in real-time, capturing the magic of your celebration right before their eyes. As a result, the couple will receive a fully framed, ready-to-hang original artwork that will transport them back to this special day whenever they look at it.
I also take commissions. A custom portrait from is the perfect way to commemorate the most special moments of a wedding day. It’s an unforgettable gift, ideal for newlyweds or as a heartfelt gesture for the parents of the bride and groom.
Each portrait is meticulously hand-painted, ensuring that the essence and emotion of the couple’s special day are beautifully conveyed. From the first kiss and the walk down the aisle to the joy of the first dance, these portraits are carefully crafted from a photo, creating a deeply personal and meaningful keepsake that brings these moments to life.
As Henri Cartier-Bresson famously said, “The camera can capture what is seen; the brush captures what is felt.” Hand-painted artwork goes beyond the limitations of a photo, capturing not only the likeness but also the essence of the day in a way that photography alone cannot. It is a thoughtful, one-of-a-kind gift that celebrates love stories in a truly special way.

We booked Jane shortly before our wedding, and I couldn’t be happier that we did. I’d been interested in incorporating live painting into our wedding for a while but struggled to f...
ind someone available and within our budget. On my MIL's recommendation, I decided to take another look—and I’m so glad I found Jane. Having her live paint at our wedding was an incredible experience. Our guests were captivated as they watched her create during the ceremony and throughout the evening. As it turned out, we had a lot in common personally and creatively—she’s also planning her own wedding—which made working together feel serendipitous. From our first conversation to meeting her in person on our wedding day, everything just clicked. Jane completed the painting so quickly! Due to our honeymoon, we didn’t get to see it in person until about a month after the wedding, but it was well worth the wait. The painting is stunning and now hangs across from our bed, where it serves as a daily reminder of our special day. Jane is incredibly creative and collaborative. Also, she traveled from NY to Northern Virginia for the day! She even offered great advice on sizing and framing, helping us choose the perfect option for our space. The live painting experience was truly one-of-a-kind, but I’d absolutely work with her again on other projects, like her beautiful pet or architectural paintings.
What a spectacular way to capture the magic of your special day! We spoke with Jane before the wedding and talking about which moment we wanted for the painting, and she was great ...
offering advice. We wanted to include both our dogs - one of which passed away shortly before the wedding - and she did a beautiful job incorporating them to make the painting even more special 💕 our guests also loved watching the live painting process and were very impressed! We love the painting!!!
I had the pleasure of working with Jane on a personal and professional note for live painting. Both as a wedding planner and in this rare case- also my sister's wedding. As a plann...
er, she was highly responsive from the very beginning, self-sufficient for a travel wedding, showed up on time and took it upon herself to make sure she was set up in the best way to make the painting a success. She worked diligently through the wedding and reception to make sure it was the best it could be and took it home for touch ups and framing. (By the way it was absolutely stunning and the details were spot on!)
She was also a surprise for my for sister and family and they could not have been more overjoyed; both with her presence and her final painting which she mailed impeccably.
Guests loved watching her paint and recreate the moment she captured. I would highly recommend her as a planner and as a family member to encapsulate a once in a lifetime moment.
If you are thinking about hiring her, I would not think twice about it and have her be a part of your special day!
