This venue may look pricier upfront but with the package price laid out nicely at the start it is a lot more value and less hassle than others and is 100% worth it to avoid so many headaches that we have seen with friends and families’ weddings and the Delafield hotel allowed us to have the best day ever. The event staff also had a bottle of our champagne on ice and two pieces of our cakes showcased and prepared for us in our room. My wife and I loved the hotel and would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a wedding venue.

Little touches such as the lobby screen displaying our pictures, having drinks set at the head table, and having hors d'oeuvres and signature drinks passed during cocktail hour made our wedding feel personal and luxurious, and I credit that completely to the hard work of the staff and their attention to detail. The value of this venue is unmatched, and I appreciated the clarity of pricing and cost upfront. We worked in the Glamorous package, but were able to make customizations like hosting our signature drink at the bar all night long. We have seen that other venues charge extra for wine pours, champagne toasts, linens, cake cutting, etc., and the fact that this was all included and laid out in our package cost was so helpful and a better value than other places you could choose. While the initial sticker cost may be higher than other venues, what you get for that dollar amount cannot be beat. Plus, many of our guests have claimed this was the best meal they’ve ever had at a wedding! Hannah, our event manager, was wonderful to work with, and she made sure that our vision came to life and kept things running smoothly. One of our favorite moments of our wedding day was taking photos and reading our private vows up in the bell tower. This is a truly special and unique moment you can only get here. The Delafield Hotel makes planning your wedding as easy as possible, and the value of service is unmatched – we have absolutely no concerns or complaints. My husband and I have such great memories of our wedding day, and we would confidently recommend the Delafield Hotel to anyone looking for a reception venue.

ere able to have EVERYONE join us in our celebration. We ended up renting the entire hotel for all of our wedding guests to stay and enjoy the late reception as well as the bar in ID. We held our rehearsal dinner at ID which has INCREDIBLE food. Even 6 months later my family is still commenting on the food we had. I was silly enough to make almost all of my table pieces, place cards, etc. Hannah set everything up the day of the wedding exactly as we talked about. I cannot say enough things about the hotel staff. The wedding was perfect, honestly, I cannot think of anything I would change. Well, one thing. I wish we could do it over and over as it was so special and out of this world. Thank you to ALL of the Delafield Hotel staff. Shout out to Dye at the ID bar, she is the BEST bartender!

eld Hotel was a dream from start to finish. They were professional, kind, and incredibly responsive throughout the whole process. Kim and the booking team made sure that our family who spent the night had gorgeous accommodations and everyone raved about the size of the rooms -- and the rain showers! The food was amazing -- several people came up to our sweetheart dinner just to tell us that it was the best steak they've ever had. Overall we couldn't be happier with how seamless everything went. All of our guests had a great night and the little touches like passed champagne, the midcentury modern decor, and the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff made such an impact. The secret to what makes this venue so unique? Getting to go up on the tower for pictures at sunset. It was truly unforgettable.

Most people don’t expect food at weddings to be great, but everyone was blown away. From our hand passed appetizers, speciality cocktail, and entrees at dinner, it was truly spectacular. I got SO many compliments on our food. If this hasn’t sold you already, I experienced such kindness from the staff who went above and beyond when my mom got diagnosed with cancer two months before our wedding. Chelsea, the manager at ID, called me and made sure there was a VIP sitting area inside the ballroom so my mom could still enjoy our reception—all free of charge. Hannah, the venue day of coordinator, made sure my mom was taken care of at dinner and served her table with a mask so she wasn’t exposed to COVID. Was the venue pricey, yeah—what isn’t when you get married—however, they had several perks that I felt justified the cost such as hotel centerpieces, candles, linen, and a free honeymoon suite. I am so glad we choose the Delafield Hotel for our wedding.

are so spacious for getting ready in. We reserved the Premier Suite and there was plenty of space of myself, 7 bridesmaids, and 2 moms to get hair and make-up done. The natural light is also perfect for photos. Hannah, the event manager, and all of the staff were kind and easy to work with and they did a fantastic job making our day what we envisioned. We had butler passed old fashioneds as our signature drink and it was amazing!! We were planning to get married outside in their front lawn space, however there was a chance of rain and we decided to move it into the ballroom. They made the ballroom space look beautiful. I do wish they would have allowed us to make a decision on indoor or outdoor closer to the ceremony time as it ended up not raining at all that day. Besides that our day was absolutely perfect.

Planning a wedding is stressful enough but during a pandemic, it's another added layer of stress but the Delafield Hotel was fantastic throughout the entire experience. We received SO many compliments on the decorations, hotel accommodations, staff and the food. We cannot thank Kim, Steve, Banquet Staff, Erin Jacobs and her staff enough for everything they did for us and our special day! We would highly recommend having your wedding at the Delafield Hotel; you will NOT be disappointed!

id, I want you to understand that the first Thank You I’m writing after our wedding this past Friday, August 21st, is to the Delafield Hotel by way of this review. Kim, Steve, and the entire event staff executed flawlessly (not hyperbole). One of our highest priorities for our wedding was to make sure that we took care of our 150 expected guests. As much as it was intended to be a celebration of our relationship, it was equally intended to serve as a thank you to the people who have supported us as a couple. And, while we definitely do not have a limitless budget, we wanted to have great food and an open bar. We considered over a dozen wedding venues, many of which were downtown. I knew of the Delafield Hotel from its excellent restaurant, I.D. It’s swanky, upscale, and the food is phenomenal. But, for all of those reasons, I also avoided calling the hotel as a first option for our wedding venue. I knew what we had previously spent for dinner there as a couple, and I fully expected it to be beyond our reach. But, after seeing the pricing of the aforementioned venues, and after feeling like we were just another number to those venues, we decided to give the Hotel a call. It took about ten minutes of meeting with Kim to decide that this is where we wanted to have our wedding. Kim is prompt, organized, and direct, and she does not over- or under-sell her team’s capabilities. She said we could create a custom wedding package that would work for our budget, and we did. Even after we had to reschedule because of COVID (originally planned for May 30th), Kim and her team let us know our options, and helped us to find a new date this summer that worked with the Hotel and with our other vendors. They even willingly adjusted our minimum down when we had to cut the guest list by two-thirds, to help control the size of the gathering. They proactively put all of the necessary protocols in place, and they called us as soon as any development had the potential to impact the wedding (e.g. the recent mask mandate). In a year where everything has, quite frankly, gone to hell, they made the re-planning process easy. And this past Friday, Steve and the wait staff executed perfectly. The food was excellent (not just for a wedding), the drinks were strong, and the service was outstanding. They took care of all of the little details the day-of; from setting up our décor to securing our gifts after the reception. They let us and our family focus on our guests, not on turning over the venue for the next wedding. In short, as with everything else in the planning process, they made things easy. If you’re not already under contract with a venue, or if you are having to reschedule because of COVID, call the Delafield Hotel. Food and Bev on site, an amazing remodel that showcases an elegant and classy day, coat check, and valet parking, but at a price that is affordable. I was blown away. Communication with Kim was probably the easiest part of my wedding planning process. She returned my calls or my emails within the workday, she was always pleasant and funny, and I really felt like I had a bond with her during my 20 month engagement. When my wedding day came, Kim was there for all of it, assisting me, double checking everything, she even came to me during my reception and ordered me to eat dinner before i passed out. I truly loved working with Kim. She is an amazing wedding professional. I will recommend The Delafield Hotel to EVERYONE.

The whole process from start to finish was great! I was in frequent contact with Kim throughout the months leading up to the wedding and she was awesome when we would change our minds and want to edit different details, all the way up to the day of! The week of the wedding we had out final meeting with Kim where we were able to drop all of our stuff off for them to set up on our wedding day and then Kim went through all the details of what each room will look like, the timeline, dinner service, and so much more! Everyone at the hotel was so helpful and nice! We had such an amazing experience being married at the Delafield Hotel!

We chose them for three reasons; (1) the hotel is absolutely beautiful; (2) they offer the most delicious food you’ll ever taste at a wedding, and (3) they have exceptional staff and service. They went above and beyond to make sure our wedding was truly perfect. The wedding coordinator Kim, assisted us during our planning, and helped execute all of the prepared details on our wedding day. Throughout our entire planning process, she was easily accessible through e-mail to answer any of our questions. Prior to the wedding she had gone through a checklist of items that we needed to bring for decorations and all the small detailed items we needed to make our wedding day exceptional. If anyone wins the award for being organized and on top of the ball, it’s Kim! She even helped us design our cake and had a great understanding of what the pastry chef was capable of creating for our cake design and cupcakes. We received so many compliments on our decadent cupcakes and cake, even from people who normally don’t like to eat those types of desserts were impressed with the wonderful flavor. For our ceremony, we had quite the elaborate setup of 250 cylinder vases filled with water and floating candles on both sides of the aisle, along with white chiffon fabric draped along the aisle chairs. It was Kim and her team that took on the challenge to setup our aisle and fill each vase with water and light the candles. They made sure to account for safety measures and placed the vases far enough from the chairs to avoid having a guest accidently knock one over with their foot. Once they lit all the candles, the room became a magical place filled with warm glowing light. All of our guests were in awe with how beautiful the aisle looked. We have the Delafield Hotel staff to thank for how perfect our ceremony was. Not to mention the amount of time it took to setup all those vases, only to have to tear it all down to transform the room for our reception, in an hour and a half! They were able to do this successfully during our cocktail hour which was held in a separate room, how impressive is that! The staff made a huge impression on our guest during the reception with their exceptional table service. It was like a well conducted orchestra. When our wedding coordinator Kim, gave a signal to the staff they all put our salad plates down at the same time at our head table. We were all blown away! They also brought the dinner plates to our guests within a record time. The food was hot and so delectable. Our guests were impressed. It was extremely important to us that we had the best food at our wedding, it was the second highest priority on our list. Kim had explained to us how they are known for serving high quality food at an exceptionally quick rate. Basically, from the time the food is done cooking, it goes straight to the guest, rather than sitting under a warmer. All of our guests kept raving about their meals as well as the late-night food station. To conclude, I would rate the Delafield Hotel 10 out of 5 stars for overall venue, food and service. Absolutely exceptional! I now understand why they are a Four Diamond luxury hotel. They made our wedding a dream come true, and gave us our happily ever after as husband and wife. Thank you Delafield Hotel!!!

The staff had cake, an extra plate of food, and champagne waiting in our suite for us to enjoy which was amazing after a long night of dancing! My only complaint would be the rooming situation, they ended up giving a room block to another wedding that was being held downtown that weekend (10 discounted rooms were included in our package). Had I known they were going to give another room block out I would have booked those rooms for my guests. Overall would highly recommend the service at The Delafield Hotel!

ace we were staying was very convenient, as it cuts down on all of the shuttling people around that can make wedding day stressful, and the rooms were very nice for staying in and getting ready in. The Delafield Hotel was a great place to hold a wedding. Everyone was helpful in the planning process, and as we live out of state it was important to have people we could trust at the venue. We had about 130 guests, and there was plenty of room in the ballroom for the ceremony and reception, with a cocktail hour in the room next door as they flipped the room. The food was excellent. During the cocktail hour we especially loved the arancini hors d'ouevres and during dinner our options were the salmon and scallops, the stuffed chicken, and the sweet potato cakes and our guests were impressed with all of the options. The Delafield Hotel also made the cake for our wedding. I was very impressed by the pastry chef's ability to make the cake exactly like I wanted based on a picture and short description of what we wanted. It was also one of the best tasting wedding cakes that I can remember eating (we got chocolate cake with peanut butter filling.) As far as cost goes, while there are venues that are cheaper, it would be very hard to find a venue of this quality at a better price. With the entire event going smoothly, the food being great, and the hotel being a unique and beautiful place for a wedding. I would recommend this to anyone looking to get married in Southeastern Wisconsin.

y we wanted, but made helpful suggestions to make sure things stayed on track. We used the grand ballroom for our ceremony and reception. We used the Cushing Room and foyer area for cocktail hour while the grand ballroom was being flipped from the ceremony to the reception. It worked out really well for our wedding and it was so nice to have everything in one place! The hotel itself is GORGEOUS! The staff were polite and professional. We had our wedding around Christmas so everything in the hotel was decorated beautifully for the holidays. The hotel rooms are stunning. Yes, they are a bit pricey, but it's worth the cost knowing you're getting a luxurious experience. I would highly recommend getting one of the Signature Suites or the Noble Suite for the wedding party. The rooms are huge so there's definitely enough space for a bigger bridal party. It's great for getting ready and having the photographers snap a few pictures before the ceremony. My husband and I definitely made the right decision to have our wedding here.
