Delectable Delights specializes in specialty cakes, wedding cakes, cupcakes, and desserts - always made individually for your special event. Delectable Delights works with every customer to create a unique and delicious custom cake for any occasion. We commemorate the joys, accomplishments, momentous events, and wonders of life. We are there from the beginning, and we become part of the family, creating centerpieces for your most important special occasions: your wedding, your baby shower, your child’s first birthday… Our loyal customers continue returning due to our renowned artistry coupled with our many, delicious, variety of flavors and fillings. At a young age, just 15 years old, Robert discovered a love for baking while working in a donut shop. And now thirty-seven plus years later, Robert is a pastry chef, edible artist, cake designer, and co-founder of Delectable Delights. A graduate of the University of Hawaii, Robert began his career at Twin Donuts in New Rochelle, New York. As his love for baking grew he decided to leave New York and set out for Hawaii to pursue a degree in culinary arts. After graduation, Robert worked as executive chef/manager for Iva’s Komplete Katering, a catering company owned by Iva Kinimaka, a famous Hawaiian singer. Working for Iva exposed Robert to authentic Hawaiian cultures, something he considers a priceless experience. Robert catered many events ranging from 10 to 10,000 people, including a President and other celebrities. But after working in the catering business for 3 years, Robert realized he was missing his true love, his passion for baking. So it was then he decided to move back to the mainland. In 1995 Robert began working as a pastry chef at Mark II, a dinner theatre in Orlando, Florida. He left Mark II for an opportunity to work full time doing what he truly loved, baking and cake decorating, at the Sprinkles Custom Cakes. His time and experience at Sprinkles made Robert realize that he wanted to venture out with the goal of opening his own custom cake business one day. In 1996 Robert moved to Palm Beach, Florida where he worked at the prestigious Breakers as a pastry chef. He continued working at the Breakers to supplement his income until he was able to establish his own custom cake business. It was later that same year, July 1996, Robert and his wife, Leslie, officially co-founded Delectable Delights. On July 1, 2011, the Florida Legislature enacted the Cottage Food law, which allows individuals to manufacture, sell and store certain types of products in an unlicensed home kitchen. Since that time, Delectable Delights has grown its clientele list exponentially and has allowed us the opportunity to continue providing premium products at less than average cost.
