Working with Laney for our wedding cake was a great experience. The cake was absolutely delicious. She worked with me on a design that I fell in love with and did everything she could to fit in our budget. On our wedding day, our cake was even more beautiful than we imagined, and it was just as delicious as it was during our tasting. I highly recommend Delicious Desserts for your wedding cake needs or a cake for any special event.

I could not of been happier with my wedding cake and the amazing services that Laney provided. From the tasting to the day of my wedding, everything was top-notch. She worked with me on a design that I fell in love with and did everything she could to fit in our budget. Besides how beautiful the cake looked, it was absolutely delicious. We were even eating the left over cake in the airport before we took off for our honeymoon :) We cannot thank Laney enough!!

Laney did an awesome job with our wedding desserts!! For our wedding cake, we went with two flavors- lemon cake with butter cream and raspberry filling, and red velvet cake with cream cheese filling. The cake was so moist and flavorful, even my groom who isn't a sweets person was super impressed and ate a slice himself! I was obsessed with it- I honestly don't know if our cake topper will last a year in our freezer because it is too delicious! Laney did a great job working with our florist Wimberly to decorate the cake with flowers - it went so well with the rest of our colorful fairy-tale garden wedding theme! Laney was also sweet and made amazing chocolate chip cookies for my dad and members of my family who prefer cookies. All 60+ cookies were gone in minutes at our reception because they were such a hit! Laney did a wonderful job making our unique groomscake- my groom's favorite dessert is cheese cake so she made cheese cake bites and cake bites decorated with his favorite things- Clemson, volleyball, golf, cigars, for the rehearsal dinner. She set up and brought the cake stands herself, so we didn't have to worry about a thing! Thank you so much Laney for making the most delicious wedding cake and chocolate chip cookies I've ever had! You are the best!

We are beyond thrilled with the delicious cake that Laney baked for our wedding. We had a five tier cake with the most beautiful sand dollars and flowers that fit perfect for our Kiawah Island wedding. During our tasting we couldn't decide on one flavor for our cake so Laney went above and beyond and did three for us in the different tiers. We had vanilla cake with lemon and raspberry filling, red velvet, and devils food cake with Andy's mint filling. SO GOOD! To top it off, she even baked an anniversary cake for us to celebrate with! It was so sweet of her and the cake was even better the second time!

When got engaged, I knew that I wanted Laney to do the cake - and it was PERFECT - she designed it to reflect the lace and beading in my dress and best of all - it tasted great! Many compliments from guests and much fun working with Laney - she listens, interprets and helps you get what you didn't even know you wanted and then executes it beautifully! thank you Laney!!!

Laney was an absolute hoot to work with and did a phenomenal job with our cake! I'm most thankful for the fact that she kept me from going with the same boring cake that everyone else had! She helped us design a beautiful and unique cake that wowed everyone! On top of that it was DELICIOUS! I even had a couple pieces for breakfast the next morning :) Thanks Laney!!

Laney was absolutely wonderful to work with. My husband might say I'm obsessed with cake (I'm a baker myself in my free time) so we probably did 7 other cake tastings before we found Laney. Her cakes were without a doubt, the best I've tasted! Our cake not only tasted delicious, but it was beautiful too! Everyone at the wedding loved it. We absolutely loved working with Laney! Cakes were delicious, tasting was a blast, and Laney has a great eye for design. Everyone at our wedding loved our cakes, and she even made us our favorite pies to go along with everything. I used Laney for a baby shower after the wedding, and we'll definitely be getting our cakes from her in the future!

I can't even begin to tell you how thankful and ecstatic we are to have been able to work with Laney. She is truly a great baker and an amazing artist. The cake was absolutely delicious and all of our guests agreed. With regards to the design, Laney was able to take our vision and make it even better than we could have imagined. She is a lovely and hilarious person who has a heart of gold. I can truly say that Laney will do whatever it takes to give her clients what they want. When something as important as your wedding cake is on the line, Laney is the person you want in your corner. Seriously...there's just no comparison!

Working with Laney from Delicious Desserts was one of the biggest highlights of our wedding planning process!!! She was recommended to me by my wedding planner (Megan Chandler from Ooh! Events, simply the best!) and Laney is just wonderful. I grew up in Florence, SC, where good food is highly appreciated, and I now live in NYC, where food is good for the most part, but there's also a lot of emphasis on how things look. And things that look amazing don't always taste amazing. Laney's cakes are BOTH. Everything looks exquisite and the taste is even better. She created our cake based on our vision, but she made it better by bringing new ideas to the table. Her creativity truly sets her apart. She was also very accommodating when we had to decrease our guest count when it became closer to our wedding date, though in retrospect I wish I hadn't because then we would have had more leftover cake!! She also created other desserts for our wedding, and I received compliments from everyone on both the cake and the desserts. Aside from her phenomenal baking skills, she is just an extremely warm and fun-loving person to have by your side on your big day. I cannot recommend her more highly. She's a 10.0 out of a 5.0!!!

Once you have your cake tasting with Laney you'll know you just can't get your cake anywhere else. Her cakes taste out of this world amazing, and when you talk to her you know how much she loves what she does and she bakes with that love. Our cake was more beautiful than I ever pictured in my mind and tasted even better. Another thing that makes her stand out is how she genuinely cares about her clients. I missed seeing her when she delivered the cake, promptly on time, so my new husband and I stopped at her house on our way out of town and she makes you feel like a part of her family. I would recommend her to anyone!

I would highly recommend Delicious Desserts! Laney is extremely talented. She took the time to meet with my husband and I twice -- first about a year in advance for an initial consultation, and then again four month prior to the wedding for a more detailed decision. She showed us many examples of different designs and styles she has done in the past, and also was open to any photos on Pinterest or the Internet that I had seen. The cake she designed was beautiful and EXACTLY what I had in my mind and I had tried to convey in our conversations. We had a fairly small wedding so didn't order a second groom's cake, but if we had a larger wedding I certainly would have (the photos of her groom's cakes are amazing)! Her designs are so creative and just perfectly executed. In addition, Laney is so friendly and passionate about her craft. She took care of all of the delivery and setup of the cake on her own; it was comforting to be getting ready upstairs knowing that she had it all handled downstairs!

Laney did an amazing job with our wedding cake and other desserts! The consultation/cake tasting was a blast and she was very flexible and quick with creating a cake that achieved my vision for what I wanted. She was priced very reasonably compared to other vendors in Charleston and was honest about how much cake we would actually need for the headcount and type of wedding we were having. We also ordered some other bit size desserts (key lime cheesecakes & pecan tarts) that were amazing. I liked that she made the pricing easy including all stand rentals, set up/breakdown etc. I would definitely recommend Delicious Desserts to anyone looking to book a cake baker in Charleston!

I cannot tell you how much fun it was to work with Laney, the owner of Delicious Desserts. I live in Los Angeles, planned my wedding in Charleston, have a full time job that doesn't give me access to a phone and computer much throughout the day, and had no wedding planner (I had a day of, I'm not 'that' crazy) I found the entire wedding planning process fun and exciting but vendors can be difficult to plan with, given the circumstances listed above... Not Laney. Laney was amazing. I'd email her after work (which was late on the East Coast) and know I'd have an email response by the time I woke up or shortly after. We spoke on the phone several times when I could and each time I heard from her I was more and more sure that I chose the right cake vendor. She made arrangements to meet with my grandparents who drove down from Columbia to taste for me, she asked me for wedding details and a little about me and my now husband... all the info I provided and meeting my grandparents gave her an idea of who we were as a couple and the feel of our wedding day. She designed the perfect wedding cake. She nailed it. I had 150 guests, chose a 3 tier, 2 flavor cake, and almost the entire cake was eaten. It was my favorite decor piece and tasted amazing!! You can tell Laney's heart is in what she does. She genuinely cares for her clients and the product she makes from scratch and delivers. Do yourself a favor and team up with Laney. It was fun and exciting and I plan to use her for any reason I need a cake in the future! PS, Her fondant icing is the best fondant icing I've ever tasted. I usually peel fondant icing off wedding cakes, I couldn't get enough of hers. :)

Laney from Delicious Desserts was such a dream to work with! Her work is not only absolutely stunning but is DELICIOUS!!! When we first met with Laney we knew we wanted our cake to taste amazing but were unsure is what we wanted it to look like. We looked at and loved all of her prior wedding cakes but knew we wanted something original so our planner ended up showing Laney a photo of my wedding dress (without my husband/fiancé seeing!) and once she saw it she knew that was her inspiration and designed the most beautiful wedding cake. We couldn't be happier with the look AND TASTE of our wedding cake on our special day and are so looking forward to enjoying an anniversary cake from Delicious Desserts!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Delicious Desserts! Laney is not only an extremely talented baker, she is a warm and thoughtful person. She spent many extra hours of her time reaching out to various carpenters to find someone who could custom build a "cookie stand" that I had envisioned. I am sure that any other baker would have told us "no" but Laney did everything she could to make my dream a reality. The finished product was amazing! Our wedding cake, grooms cake, and reception cookies were, you guessed it, delicious! Laney really went above and beyond for us and we are so grateful!

There are some vendors you know you just HAVE to work with from the second you meet them, and Laney Cowan is one of them. I could tell you that Laney's cake is DELICIOUS (it is). I could also tell you that Laney was the ONLY baker who was excited about making our vision come to life (she was). But what really sets Laney apart is how she cares for her clients. The very first time we met her, she drove halfway across town to hand-deliver cake samples to us. Almost a year later, when hurricane Joaquin cancelled the wedding reception we had planned and my husband's mother was unexpectedly admitted into a local ICU on life support, she again drove halfway across town to hand-deliver cake to us--this time our wedding cupcakes, which we would have never been able to enjoy otherwise. We're so grateful to have crossed paths with Laney, and she'll forever be a lifelong friend of ours.

With all the wedding cake vendors in Charleston, it can be overwhelming to choose who to work with. Laney is hands down, the best person/business for your wedding. Laney is so talented and she can work magic with cake and dessert. From the first cake tasting, I loved Laney right away. The cake is the best I have ever had, the other desserts are to die for as well. We went with a dessert bar plus our cake because we couldn't choose just one dessert! The cake was a custom design that Laney created and drew for me. She was able to put on paper and then on a cake, exactly what was in my head. Delicious Desserts will create a one of a kind cake just for you. She special ordered molds for me to choose from, responded to all my emails and just made the wedding cake/dessert process so much fun and so easy. She provided cake pedestals to display the cake and desserts and hand delivered everything day of. One of my favorite moments was seeing the cake with Laney and just giving her a big hug. She is the most down to earth, hard-working person who puts her heart and soul into every cake. As she likes to say, "It's not just cake, it's CAKE." I could not recommend Laney and her business any higher!

Our experience with Delicious Desserts was absolutely wonderful! We chose Delicious Desserts for our wedding cake after doing a cake tasting in December and loving everything on the plate! My husband and I live in Indiana and had a destination wedding in Isle of Palms, so all communication after the tasting was done via email. Laney was always responsive, and did an excellent job designing our cake and sending sketches along the way so we were on the same page. She even incorporated the lace from my wedding gown into the design! I was anxious to see the cake on our big day, and was so happy with how it turned it! WE LOVED WORKING WITH LANEY! She is not only SUPER funny but she makes deciding on a cake personal. She made me really think what I wanted. I ended up with a simple yet different look. Delicious Desserts made our wedding cake (hummingbird with cream cheese icing!) It was gorgeous and absolutely delicious! I am picky about cake, so I completed 5-6 separate cake tastings prior to making our selection! Delicious Desserts was the last cake tasting, but the first choice! In fact, we didn't save the top tier to have on our 1st anniversary because we already ate it! We plan to order a small fresh cake from Laney to have on our 1 year anniversary! I have already had Laney Cowan make another cake for my husband's surprise birthday party! So yummy!

Laney was amazing. I gave her a difficult request to create a groom's cake (rehearsal dinner) for my son who is an avid archery hunter of deer. She designed a huge buck with a bull's eye behind it. It was so real, I thought it might leap off the table. She made an arrow for my son to shoot the deer at the party. There were over 50 people at the rehearsal dinner. Everyone gathered around and cheered. What a fabulous time...thanks to this amazing artist/baker.

Absolutely the BEST!! Her cakes are amazing and her service is the icing on the cake! She made the most beautiful anniversary cake for my husband and I's1st wedding anniversary last weekend. Her white cake with buttercream icing is phenomenal! I appreciate her time and all she did to make us both very happy on our special night. What she created exceeded our expectations. My cake was not only BEAUTIFUL and unique but tasted fantastic! It turned out perfect! I didn’t have the pleasure of working directly with Laney because my wedding planner handled the coordination. What I do know is that I literally changed the design of my cake 1 week before my wedding, and Laney still managed to pull off my dream cake on extremely short notice. You can tell that she takes great pride in her work and it certainly shows. If you are looking for an easy to work with vendor, beautiful design, and great tasting cake, I would highly recommend Delicious Desserts for your wedding!

We had over 21 cakes for our daughters wedding. A cake or two on each table. Delicious desserts did a great job. Each cake was different and added to our tables decor. We would recommend them for any event you may have.

The name says it perfectly! My twin sister used Delicious Desserts for her wedding and I just had to for mine! Laney did both the grooms cake and our wedding cake and they were yummyyyy and beautiful. Great filling and cake options, I had a hard time deciding! Everyone was very happy with the cake.

Laney was absolutely wonderful! My husband and I were a destination couple so we did most of our communicating through email but if there was something that wasn't clear, Laney was always sure to call to get clarification. We received countless compliments on our mini desserts and our favors (which were personalized We Are…Mr. & Mrs. cookies, a spin on We Are…Penn State). The cake was also exactly what I envisioned! I would highly recommend Laney to anyone that is getting married in the Charleston area!

We LOVED our three-tier wedding cake and key lime mini-cheesecakes for our September wedding! I knew I wanted simple elegance for the cake, but to also incorporate our theme and colors. Laney listened to us and drafted a vision of our cake during our meeting, which was just what we were thinking with a sugar starfish as an accent (starfish was our motif). To incorporate the lime green in our wedding and knowing my love of cheesecake, she added in several mini key lime cheesecakes to accent the cake. And, did I mention the cakes were delicious? Everyone was commenting on how good our cake was (we had three different layers)...I know I got seconds. :) Laney is a delight to work with...so personable and adorable and truly listens to her clients. Love her and recommend her wholeheartedly!

Where to begin with the awesome experience we had with delicious dessert and the amazing Laney. This wonderful cake artist was recommended to us from a fellow vendor in the wedding industry. From the beginning we knew we were in good hands. Our first meeting we got to try all of her wonderful flavors and design our wedding cake. She was very knowable and answered all of our questions when it came to our cake. After about three date changes later and one cake overhaul we had our perfect wedding cake. I could not have asked for a better person to make it for us. The cake to turned out amazing and everyone loved it. We got complements from our guest stating that it was some of the best wedding cake that they have ever tasted. So beyond happy with our wedding cake and could not have asked for a better person to have made it for us.

Laney has absolutely the most delicious and gorgeous cakes we gave ever had. She made our daughters wedding day so special. Our guests kept requesting more. There were no leftovers! She was a joy to work with and very professional, warm, and very hospitable. You can't go wrong with her!

The ONLY thing better than having a perfectly delicious wedding and grooms cake is having the sweetest lady bake them for you. We only visited with two bakers, but Laney's personality alone sold us. She is beyond friendly and incredibly knowledgable. Besides that, our cakes were the best I have ever had! I am OBSESSED with hummingbird cake and hers is delicious. I have already tried to replicate it and it's impossible. We showed up with pictures that we loved and she talked us through every picture, helping us decide which designs we liked best. If you have never met a perfectionist, Laney is one! My grooms cake was an elaborate LSU cake in the shape of a Fleur De Lis and it looked identical to the picture I showed her, if not better! We cannot thank Laney enough for two perfect cakes!!

When I first came to Laney with Delicious Desserts, the cake wasn't "a top priority" for me. I was so wrong to underestimate the importance of a great cake! It's all people have been talking about since the wedding! Not only was the cake Laney created for our wedding beautiful, it tasted absolutely melt-in-your-mouth amazing! Laney thought of the idea to match the background of the cake to my bridesmaid's blush dresses and then piped the lace from my dress onto the 4 tiers in white. It was just perfect. I am so thrilled I chose Delicious Desserts for our wedding cake and would highly recommend any bride to do the same! PS- She also made AMAZING personal sized cheesecakes for our rehearsal dinner that were out of this world!

SO DELICIOUS. We had gone to another bakery, which was okay but did not blow us away (except by the price of wedding cake, which sure ain't cheap). Then, upon recommendation from our day-of coordinator, we contacted Laney. My husband, who does not generally eat dessert (I know, it's weird), ate so many of the samples that he got a stomach ache. I mean, it was out of this world good. Highly recommend the lemon cake with raspberry and chocolate ganache filling.

Laney Cowen is an amazing person to work with ! I was from out of town and we had many consultations through emails ! I was finally able to meet with her and I instantly knew she was a jewel and I felt as though I had known her forever!!! We discussed many ideas etc for the grooms cake and as we talked she was able to figure out me , my style likes etc and came up with a fabulous design that I loves and my son and his fiancé were very pleased !!! It looked beautiful and it was truly delicious and everyone raved about it !!! Thank you Laney for making our event special !!! I would highly recommend her to anyone and I would use her again if I only lived closer !!!! Maybe I'll get her to mail one of her cakes to me !!! She really listens to what her customer wants and she wants everyone to be pleased , and we were!!!!!

Laney is a doll! I couldn't have been more pleased to have worked with her. She sincerely cared about what we wanted!!! I changed my mind as I expected and it was not an issue for her! Let's talk taste, you won't find a better tasting cake or selection that all tastes wonderful!!! I've been eating all the wrong cakes for my entire life! She was easy to get a hold of and easy to work with! Book early because she's so great I'm sure she'll be book up quickly for the upcoming year!! Can't wait to order a cake for our anniversary. I can’t emphasize enough how great Laney was to work with on our wedding cake! She is such a sweet person and genuinely cares about making your big day special (I think she may have even teared up a few times during our first meeting). It’s nice to work with someone who cares so much about what they do. Going into it I didn’t really know what I wanted our wedding cake to be like, just that I wanted it to taste amazing. We knew as soon as we tasted the first bite of her cake that she was the right choice for us – every cake we sampled was soooo delicious! She also crafted a beautiful design for our wedding cake that was perfect for what we wanted. Ultimately we did a 3-tiered cake with 3 different flavors: yellow almond cake with amaretto mousse, devil’s food cake with chocolate mousse & raspberry filling, and carrot cake (my favorite). Everyone at our wedding raved about how beautiful and – most importantly – delicious the cake was! We couldn’t have been more pleased!

I chose Delicious Desserts for my wedding cake because of my wedding planner. I had complete trust in my wedding planner to know who was the best, and he was 100% correct. Laney was a pleasure to work with. When my fiance and I met with her, I had no clue what I wanted my wedding cake to look like. She took the time to get to know me and when she drew the picture of a cake she thought I would like, it was dead on. Also, I have never had a wedding cake that tastes so good. The caterer told us after the wedding that there was no cake left. They said normally they are throwing cake away because not everyone eats a piece, but that was not our case. And I would have to agree because I even had 2 pieces!!!

My wife and I really enjoyed our wedding cake, and I know that our guests did too. We had different layers with different kinds of cake that were all delicious. I have seen plenty of wedding cakes that look great in terms of presentation and design, but leave a little to be desired on taste. Ours was delicious, and we heard over and over how beautiful it was. I was so fortunate to be able to work with Laney in creating my dream wedding cake. She was recommended by one of the top wedding planners/company in Charleston, and she did not disappoint. The service she provided us was well beyond our expectations. She was ALWAYS quickly responsive to our phone calls and emails. It was never difficult to get a hold of her. She worked endless hours, and put in extra time and effort to help us create our dream wedding cake and cupcakes. Not only was the design creative, but the cake/cupcake flavors of the cake were unique. Who else comes up with a BLUE velvet cake and pineapple upside-down cupcakes? She helped make sure our wedding day went smoothly, and she even added an extra surprise just for me!! I don't think I could have found a better, sweeter person to help create such a priceless day. I'd hire her again in a minute!

Laney was truly a joy to work with for our wedding day! She bent over backwards to make sure we had "the cake of our dreams". My fiance and I waited on our cake until the last few weeks before our wedding and Laney handled the timing and pressure with such patience and grace! During our tasting before the wedding, we loved so many of the flavors that we just decided on a different one for each tier. It's easy to tell this is what Laney was meant to do - she receives such sincere joy in creating beautiful and delicious cakes for others' wedding days and we are so happy our planner Candice from Yoj Events introduced us to Laney!

Oh my goodness where to begin? As an event planner, I have worked with a myriad of vendors in my lifetime. For my wedding, I wanted only the best of the best and boy did I get it. Laney from Delicious Desserts is absolutely incredible. She truly has a gift for making beautiful cakes - literally anything you can dream of! My husband is a huge fisherman so she made a life size fish on a cutting board - seriously looked like the real thing! It is my experience that in order to get a beautiful cake, you usually have to sacrifice taste - this is not the case at all with Delicious Desserts. I kid you not, this was the best cake I have ever tasted in my life. Holy yum! So ridiculously moist! We chose chocolate, but at the cake tasting I tried about 10 flavors, and every single one was divine. If you are having a wedding in Charleston, THE choice for cakes is Delicious Desserts!

My son wanted a hog's head for the rehearsal/groom's cake. Laney had never done this before. She made THE most "life" like" hog's head. I could not believe it. I grew up in a family that barbequed hogs every Christmas and I had to do a triple take. It was a major hit and also delicious! Thank you Laney at Delicious Desserts for making my son's only request for his wedding so very special. You are the best!!!!!!!!!
