Deluxe Cakes and Pastries

aller cake that was not only stunning (literally my dream cake) but they were able to make vegan (thanks lactose intolerance) so I could enjoy it. And let me tell you, this was the best vegan cake I have ever tasted. You couldn't tell that it didn't have the traditional butter and milk in it. If there was one thing I wish I had done differently, it would have been to order MORE. We went through the math at our consultation and figured people usually eat about 2 items. Not at my wedding. Everything looked and tasted so good that people were taking multiples of each. I blinked and all that was left were crumbs.

here, she told us that construction had gone over schedule, and we couldn't do it then. She didn't say sorry for us having driven hours. When I got home, I had an email from her (after we had left the shop) saying "We won't be able to do it today- sorry. Let's schedule another time." She completely pretended like we hadn't even shown up to the bakery. If someone is this disorganized and unable to take responsibility for her mistakes, I do not want them doing my wedding cake. We got a different baker and were so glad we did!

other major vendors were more important to us than cake. Initially she tried to sell us on how the cake is the 2nd biggest thing people are going to look at after the bride & groom and we "didn't want people straining their necks to find the cake" - ridiculous. Also, EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. we talked to them we would be told about the type of baking she does, the way she bakes, the ingredients she will and will not use, etc. which made every conversation excruciating to the point that my (very involved) husband let me handle any correspondence and it ended up becoming a joke we shared with family & friends. And wanted so badly to share with her that..."We get that you are proud of your skill but we personally don't care, we already booked you so please just stop talking." BUT I will say, the cake was delivered on time and we did hear from guests that the flavors we chose were delicious. So was she obnoxious to work with YES. But she was also reliable, less expensive than the other person we spoke with AND most importantly we got positive reviews that everything was tasty from our guests.
