Dennis was okay and played good music at the wedding and was able to get everyone dancing. He was also okay with my husband's Indian side taking over and playing some songs off of their phone (I had requested that we had some bollywood songs during the reception). However, he did not handle impromptu requests well. My husband had forgotten to put out the guest book, so we put it out and asked Dennis to make an announcement about it. It took us asking him 3 times before he finally made it. I had decided to dedicate my flowers to my mother and my venue coordinator sat by his side to make sure he remembered the change and to announce it.
In addition, Dennis was difficult to get ahold of leading up to the wedding. I tried emailing multiple times and was never able to get ahold of him. Once I finally did get ahold of him through other modes of communication, he said his email was broken and finally fixed. However, he later tried to email me and it did not come through again, but I was receiving other emails from other vendors.
Furthermore, he was difficult to work at the venue, he refused to unload his equipment and made my groomsmen do it. He was reluctant to move his car after unloading so it wouldn't be in the photos. In addition, after the wedding, he actually hit and drug one of the flower pots at my venue. He did return after 30 minutes to tell the venue coordinator, but it was extremely unprofessional.
We had Dennis for our December 19th 2015 wedding. After much careful research I was excited to have him as our Dj because he had played at our venue before and talking to him over skype made me feel confident. He did a great job showing up on time and setting up. However, he dressed in a very worn out suit jacket that was stained, is party lights weren't very exciting and defiantly not worth the extra $50. I was very excited for my first dance with my husband to "Stand By Me" by Ben E. King, sadly he did not play the Ben E king version that I had requested in my song list to him. Many other songs that I had asked for during events for the reception were not played until that particular event was half way done or already over. Lastly his micophones are terrible and we could not understand a word he was saying when we was MCing at the wedding. I would not recommend Dennis on your big day.
I will first say that everything except what I am about to discuss was overall satisfactory on behalf of Dennis. We selected Dennis to be our wedding DJ after much research. The ceremony music went well, but the song we chose to have played when leaving the aisle was not started until we were half way down the aisle.. which made for an awkward transition since it was an upbeat song we were going to dance our way down the aisle to. When the reception started Dennis announced our first dance was about to happen... everyone was gathered as we waited.. and waited.. and waited. Dennis called both my husband and I to his table to inform us that he did not have our first dance song on his list. I provided him a list of 21 songs months before our wedding and his list contained 20, omitting our first dance track. My heart was broken and I felt humiliated while everyone started asking "Where's the music? Let's start the first dance!" Dennis shuffled to find something else that would work and after about 8 minutes of scrambling for a new song and a few tears on my behalf, we started our first dance. Every girl has this dance perfectly planned out since she was a little girl and I did not expect this to happen. Ultimately, we tried to put it aside and just realize that the song is not what was important, it was just my husband and I having our moment together. It just stinks that we paid as much as we did for such a disaster. Dennis was very apologetic, and the rest of the night went pretty smooth. We will not use Dennis again due to this slightly large problem.
So we came to this vendor by web searching at the last min. not on purpose. We were sorta excited by what was written about him and his own touting about who he is and what he does and that he is super hip to all types of music. We also were excited to have both DJ and Karaoke. So.....we get to the wedding piece and he isn't as clean cut and well dressed as I would like, he is a bit large in stature and not what I was expecting compared to his photos. Then comes death by Kenny G.....to have your guests tell you that they wanted to kill themselves due to an overdose of Kenny G. that sucks, and he was playing it while we were taking pictures and the guests were eating. Seriously if you have access to over 5,000 songs do you have to play one type and one artist???? Then his management of the music and his planning of things and moving from karaoke to music sucked. The karaoke piece wasn't great due to his equipment so I wouldn't recommend it and then his lighting and set up was not up to par. Then add to the fact that people noticed his going through the buffet 4 times......yeah, so the hype is not what you get!
