My now husband and I aren't crazy about "sappy" photos and as soon as we told Deonna, she was quick to suggest alternatives. She is also quick to respond and easily accessible.

. Our experience with Deonna started off amazing. Our engagement photos took place on a cold, cloudy, windy day and you would never know it. She took the most beautiful pictures, we got so many compliments on our save the dates, it was hard to even pick which ones to use. We went a little over our time that day and she didn't charge us, she was super sweet and made us feel very comfortable working with her. The issue is on the day of our actual wedding this didn't translate. I will absolutely say that many of our pictures looked absolutely beautiful. There are many portraits of my husband and I and even some of the ones with our family and friends that are absolutely fabulous and we will cherish them forever, Deonna absolutely took some very beautiful and unique photos that day, however, there were many areas that fell short that we felt was unaccaptable for the price we paid. First of all, in our family portraits (the only ones we have with extended family) there are men that worked at the hotel in the background of our photos not to mention tables and random things they were setting up(it would have been nice if we had been told to wait to take the picture until they moved so there wasn't a random man in the background of our photos). The only 2 indoor pictures I have with each of my parents from that day I'm not even looking at the camera, I would expect for a professional photographer to tell me that I'm not even looking in the same direction as the other person I'm taking a photo with. There were several pictures that her second shooter took for us outside (my bridesmaides with Tony, my mom with the bridesmaides) where you can't even see members of the party they are litterally blocked by someone elses body, once again something a professional photographer would normally mention, these are things I point out to strangers when I'm snapping an iPhone picture for them in public places. There are also literally no pictures of the guests that were at our wedding. I understand that not everyone does the old school go around to every table and take a photo pictures anymore, however aside from 3 random awful akward candids from cocktail hour and a few from the dance floor I literally wouldn't even know who attended my wedding. Deonna was taking pictures of the decorations and the room itself (which were beautiful) and her second shooter was supposed to come to the cocktail hour. He took 2 pictures of me with guests and I never saw him again for the rest of the hour, that was our chance to get pictures with our guests and he just disappeared he wasn't even around to ask him to take photos of our guests. Like I said there were a handful of pictures from the dance floor of our guests but otherwise there were no group shots the entire evening. When we look back in 30 years we'll have nothing to show who was actually at our wedding. For the price that we paid we had friends who paid literally half of what we did to go with your generic run of the mill photography company and they didn't make these kinds of mistakes. While we did get some amazing photos and there were many positives, for the price we found all of the mistakes to be unacceptable and very disappointing as these are obviously moments and memories we will never get back.
