A LITTLE BIT ABOUT DEREK • I am a storyteller at heart. I shoot a select number of very special weddings each year and pour my heart and soul into each one. As your photographer, I wear as many hats as I need to ensure your wedding images are nothing short of amazing. Often times, I help plan weddings so that I can make sure that the only thing that is left to chance are those unscripted, unforgettable moments that define your wedding day. Rest assured, my camera never misses :). My meticulous preparation process comes from my background in commercial photography where managing a large crew of people, surprise weather and unexpected moments happen all the time. Sound like a wedding?? Exactly! Please reach out to me, I'd love to hear how your story has begun and how I can tell it as it evolves into your exquisite, beautiful wedding!
OUR COMMITMENT TO YOU • We understand the amount of detail and immense preparation that has gone into planning your big day, now let us ensure that every memory is not just captured but transformed into professional artwork. Our philosophy is simple; your most delicate and tender moments deserve pristine services and quality products. Be yourselves, enjoy your day, and know that your wedding memories are being well taken care of.
OUR COMMITMENT TO THE PLANET • A little more than ten years ago, a mountain climber and a fisherman realized they had a lot more in common than a disdain for wearing a suit to work. Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia, and Craig Mathews, owner of Blue Ribbon Flies, were also passionate environmentalists that happened to be running successful businesses. More important, they understood it was good business to protect the natural resources that kept them in business. Founded in 2002, 1% for the Planet has grown into a global movement of more than 1200 member companies in 48 countries, all donating at least 1% of annual sales to sustainability initiatives. In just over 10 years 1% for the Planet companies have given more than $100 million back to Blue. Derek DiLuzio Weddings one of those companies. We exclusively use environmentally conscious venders to reduce our footprint. As a result, our products are one of kind; build for longevity by using the highest quality, materials available. Rest assured, you will find that our services are as eco friendly as possible and that you did your part in supporting the sustainability of our planet’s natural resources.

I would choose Derek every single time to shoot our wedding! He was so communicative, professional, attentive, and made us so comfortable on wedding day. The photos are everything ...
I could have imagined and more. We also didn't feel like we spent too much time away from our wedding taking photos, which was huge. Derek was punctual on both the wedding day as well as with getting our photos to us. 10/10 recommend.
Choosing Derek as our photographer was one of the best decisions I've ever made. He really appreciates how once-in-a-lifetime those photos are and takes such care to capture not on...
ly the beauty of the event but also the energy in the room (or outside!).
I think his work speaks for itself, but he is also just such a wonderful human to have around on your wedding day. He was so good at popping up when we wanted to capture a moment and fading into the background whenever we needed to just enjoy the day. My husband and I are camera-shy, and he was amazing to work with and made us so comfortable the whole time. He's not only an incredible artist, but also very easy to work with, kind, and attentive. He is passionate about what he does, and it shows in his work. He's prompt with his responses, courteous, and very professional.
I think the best recommendation I can give is just some examples of his work. He is so creative, and his photographs are really unique. He captures the environment so well and somehow makes the viewer feel what the people in the photo were feeling at the time. Many people were unable to make it to our wedding because of health reasons, and his photos are indescribably valuable in sharing our day with our loved ones who couldn't be there. He takes pride in his job and really jumps in there to get the perfect shot.
He did our engagement photos and our wedding photos, and we couldn't be happier with them. We'll truly cherish them forever.
My husband and I hired Derek to photograph our wedding in Candler, NC. We would HIGHLY recommend Derek if you are looking for a photographer. Derek was communicative, flexible, per...
sonable, and takes the most beautiful photos I have ever seen. From the time that we expressed interest in his services to receiving our photos and albums, we were extremely impressed. Derek worked with us to customize a package to make sure we were getting everything that we wanted. He went above and beyond in his communication throughout the entire planning process which left us at ease knowing everything would be handled. The photos are beautiful and were delivered well within the time frame that he told us we could expect. Derek made sure to get all of the shots that we told him were important to us and the photos bring us right back to the moments. We are extremely happy with our choice of working with Derek DiLuzio to photograph our big day. We cannot thank him enough!!
I cannot overstate how incredible Derek is. Not only did we end up with out of this world wedding photos but he was beyond a joy to work with. His photos and intuition are pricele...
ss. He had an idea to stop off at a random country store and they became some of our most favorite photos from the weekend. If theres anything thats worth the money for a wedding its the pictures hands down and we could not be happier with ours!

ad 2 to work with. It made getting through our larger bridal party and 4 children a lot faster and we were able to have someone at the venue shooting our guests arriving as we went to another location to take first look photos. We feared a big storm rolling in would ruin the photos, but Derek used this to his advantage and shot some incredible images with the storm clouds sitting of on top of us. Our photos in the woods by the waterfalls we have had so many people say that they look TOO good and that we look superimposed because they are so gorgeous and the way he faded the background was perfect. We received great direction from how to pose for photos and encouraged the ladies and gentlemen the entire time that they were great and going to look beautiful/handsome in the pictures. His pricing for his work is fair and one of the best investments we made besides an incredible venue. I HIGHLY recommend Derek DiLuzio for all of your wedding needs! We love to look back on our wedding album and just soak it in again. So good!

gh the day and different locations (we had no idea where to do our first look at Derek came up with multiple options, all of them wonderful). On the day of, he made everything so easy and feel effortless! We had a few last-minute changes and Derek had back-up plans on back-up plans and made sure everything was seamless. He is incredibly professional and was great with our families. We received all of our photos even before they were promised and they are all absolutely GORGEOUS! Derek is an absolute artist, and came up with some really incredible shots. I cannot recommend Derek highly enough!!

fessionalism and felt like Derek was a perfect pick for us given his extensive experience with outdoor photography since our wedding was outdoors. My husband and I decided to do engagement photos with Derek before our wedding because neither of us were sure about being in front of the camera and wanted to get a feel for things. Not having a clue, we left things up to Derek and we’re so glad we did. We INSTANTLY felt comfortable with him and had a blast going around Asheville for our engagement session. Derek was great communicating as we came up to the big day and was super wonderful to work with. On the day of the wedding, Derek was absolutely amazing. He arrived early and scouted out a great place for our first look. He worked with our young flower girl and our dog easily and went above and beyond to capture amazing shots. Derek created a video slideshow for us with our vows and special songs which was the perfect way to have a “video” that was special to us without a videographer. Derek was absolutely amazing and the photos he captured are stunning. Everyone that sees our photos comments about how fabulous they are! Book Derek DiLuzio and you will not be disappointed.

lifestyle outdoor shots knowing that our wedding was going to be outside. Throughout the entire process Derek was professional, responsive, and courteous. On the day of the wedding Derek arrived early and scoped out the property. Despite never having met him in person we connected instantly and it was like he was an old friend. We never felt like he was being invasive, demanding, or pushy. Throughout the day and night out guests commented on Derek's focus and precision throughout the evening. While he had ideas of shots he wanted, he was also very receptive to our feedback on shots we wanted as the night went on. Derek has a real eye for this work and he really strives to make sure you're getting photos you'll want to share with your family and friends and hang on your walls forever. We can't recommend Derek enough for his awesome work. You would be lucky to work with him.
I can't say enough wonderful things about Derek! After seeing his previous work, I knew he would be the perfect fit to shoot our mountain wedding. Once we spoke on the phone, I was...
completely put at ease with his warm personality, professionalism, & eagerness to work with us on our special day! This was a destination wedding for us, so it was important to me to work with someone who was not only going to take beautiful photographs, but also be very communicative and flexible. Derek went above and beyond on all fronts! We had so much fun working with him, and I can't even tell you how many of our guests complimented him on his enthusiasm and the great job he was doing! I think my favorite moment was when he was getting some shots of my husband and me from across a pool. My husband tried to dip me and tripped on my dress - we went down like a sack of potatoes! As soon as Derek realized I was ok and was laughing, I heard him let out the best belly laugh from across the pool!!! :-D He has such a fun personality and we really felt he enjoyed being there for our special day. We are over the moon with how our photos turned out - they are simply BREATHTAKING! If you want to work with someone who has a passion for what he does and will give you those amazing frameworthy photos, look no further than Derek DiLuzio Weddings!

as well! We got our wedding preview back within a week of our big day and all of our pictures a month after! The pictures turned out gorgeous! He captured our day perfectly! I highly recommend using Derek for your wedding!
Derek takes the most fantastic photos I ever seen. he also happens to be a amazing guy. Was the easiest/flexible vendor to reschedule with during covid too. he was the best thing ...
to happen to our wedding besides me getting my wife :). He's simply is the best you will not be disappointed.
Derek was great! We talked to a few photographers, but we decided to go with him because of his vibe and look. We also really appreciated that he is a 1% for the planet vendor. Eve...
n though he is a little more expensive, he is worth it. He came in right during one of the crazy times as we were having to make last minute rain decision, and he just took one of my bridesmaids and my dress and got to work. He was very professional and was on top of his game the whole time. The second shooter was great as well. We got almost 40 preview photos 4 days after our wedding, and I don't doubt we'll get the rest of them before the month he promised as well. He has a great eye for shots, especially in an outdoor setting as that is his speciality. The ones we've gotten back so far, we can't stop looking at them as they are so amazing. You can't go wrong with Derek!
Working with Derek was a fantastic experience. We were immediately interested in working with him after looking through his previous work that not only highlighted couples on their...
wedding day, but the natural beauty of their surroundings. From day one, the communication was excellent, and we are in awe at the outcome of our photos. He captured everything about our day perfectly to look back on!!
Derek was absolutely outstanding! Before Derek ever lets you hire him, he has a phone call with you to chat about you and your wedding and wants to know the vibe. He wants to make ...
sure he’s going to be a great fit for your wedding, which is major points to begin with.
At the wedding he was wonderful. We let him know we hated posed photos, and he made them as easy as possible. He was able to get so many incredible shots and capture some really fantastic moments.
His communication is excellent. If I needed to chat about anything before the wedding, he was quick to respond. After the wedding, he had a preview to us within a week and our full album in under a month.
I would recommend Derek a million times over, but if you are having an outdoor wedding, You’d be crazy not to hire him.

e! The reason why my husband I love him is because he is originally a landscape photographer and pays beautiful attention to the environment while achieving a crisp look for his couples. He is really patient and went above and beyond to work with us in collaborative way and added the Diluzio magic touch at the end.
Derek provided the photography for our wedding at Pretty Place in June and did a fantastic job! From our first meeting and on, he was extremely communicative and reached out to us ...
with questions. He spent a lot of time getting to know us and our vision for the wedding and helped make that vision a reality. On the day of, he was discreet but kept everything moving smoothly and got all the pictures we wanted. He went above and beyond to get some beautiful shots - even wading out into a river! He was so good that quite a few of our guests complimented our choice of photographer afterwards and his professionalism.
Highly recommended for anyone with a love of the outdoors who's looking for a wedding photographer.
Derek shot our engagement photos and they are absolutely breathtaking. He captured our personalities and love perfectly. He was so fun to work with and made us feel so comfortable ...
and natural in front of the camera. Throughout the whole process, Derek was extremely communicative and responsive. He got these photos back to us so quickly! I recommend Derek to anyone and everyone I talk to! He is a true artist.
Derek is an absolute genius and incredible to work with. From the beginning, he was ultra kind and flexible and worked with my wife and me to find the best package for our budget. ...
On the day of the wedding, he was professional, so friendly and comfortable, and the photos we received are absolutely INCREDIBLE. Thank you Derek!

ly recommend both. We did not plan to do engagement photos, but I wanted a chance to get comfortable in front of the camera. Mission accomplished! Derek was very laidback and personable while he worked, yet he was also constantly scanning our surroundings for creative and beautiful shots. It was so apparent that he loved what he was doing, and we got to relax and enjoy the ride with him. We chose Derek over other photographers because of his ability to capture exquisite landscapes and scenery that are breathtakingly beautiful - and to see ourselves against those backdrops is something we will cherish forever. He also did an incredible job of capturing the “essence” of our guests – not just how they look, but who they are. His photographic artistry is truly remarkable. Derek was responsive, accommodating, friendly, and he turned our photos around to us unbelievably fast! We would hire Derek again in a heartbeat.

wedding day ended up being very windy and rainy, Derek was still able to get some great outdoor pictures of us in between passing storms. At a couple points through the evening he even stood out in downpours to make sure he got the right shot of us and our guests. Derek had some really creative tricks up his sleeve to ensure lighting for each shot was perfect. We couldn’t have asked for better quality pictures to document the day and his turnaround time getting the finished photos to us was amazingly fast. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Derek to anyone looking for a talented, creative and easy to work with photographer to document the big day.

o what kind of images my husband and I were hoping to get and they are so perfect. I couldn't imagine having any other photographer that day! We had a very large bridal party and he was able to keep us all corralled and was in great control. Definitely recommend him to any bride who wants more editorial and artistic shots than just normal cookie cutter wedding photos!!!!

seconds. They worked the scene/venue perfectly. They both were running around making sure to capture the perfect shot from all angles. My wife and I are both photographers, so we aren't very keen on being in-front of the camera. He made us feel comfortable and it all felt so natural. He blew our already high expectations out of the water. His style was perfect for what we wanted, and got every shot we were looking for. I will never use any other photographer. I will absolutely recommend him to anyone and everyone.

Derek was the best wedding photographer we could have possibly had. He worked so well with the wedding party, and managed to capture every fun and emotional moment during the day. ...
He has a very good eye of capturing the scenery as well of the fine details within a room. His photos turned out amazing and we could not be more grateful.
I highly recommend Derek because he was amazing from start to finish. My husband and I were getting married in Asheville, NC and were looking for a photographer that would be able ...
to capture our big day but also capture one of the top reasons why we fell in love with Asheville so much; the beautiful backdrop. I set out to meet about 12 photographers in Asheville one weekend and Derek was actually the first one we met. We knew within the first few photos he showed us that he was going to be able to capture what we wanted and we both really liked his personality. He is a family man who is passionate about what he does, outgoing, very laid back, personable, and has a good sense of humor. We know the planning for wedding of >350 people was going to be stressful, but Derek made the planning journey very easy. He really does focus on you at the wedding and makes you feel very calm despite family dynamics that occur on the day of the wedding. He was also extremely flexible with us because we ran out of daylight on our wedding day. (we decided not to do a first look and got married at 430 pm in October). We were able to go back to Asheville in a few days to still capture the fall leaves before they fell. He was able to help me find a vendor to do my hair and makeup again so quickly for the second day shoot. The pictures were absolutely gorgeous. My husband and I had a hard time narrowing down our photos because they were all done so well. Our families loved all the moments that were captured! Looking back at all our photos and watching our families reactions; the photos brought back wonderful, warm memories about our lovely wedding day that brought so many people together, and a night that everyone really enjoyed, who still say to this day that it was the most wonderful wedding they have ever been to.
Derek was absolutely amazing! He captured our entire wedding in such a special way. He was so easy to talk to as well. We planned from a different state and he always made it easy ...

as so excited when I found Derek’s work online after looking at so many wedding photographers’ portfolio’s that looked very similar…his work stuck out in the most refreshing way! I was even more thrilled when I chatted with him – he was professional, very down-to-earth, friendly, funny and I could tell he had immense pride in his work. Our experience was enhanced when we met Derek for a drink while we were in-town to enjoy some hiking and take care of some wedding planning. Derek asked great questions to get to know me, my fiancé and my parents better. This visit yielded great returns the day of our wedding – we felt we had known Derek forever and were super comfortable with him – which made us all feel relaxed and jovial during the times we were taking the formal wedding pictures. Derek worked relentlessly to ensure we had a great balance of formal pictures and candid shots and he captured so many great moments of the entire day without being obtrusive to our overall wedding experience. I also respect the fact that when he saw an opportunity for a great shot, he would direct us to ensure everything was captured in the best way. His eye is truly one-of-a-kind and his demeanor is second to none. Our pictures are spectacular and the memories he captured are remarkable. This was truly the best investment we made for our wedding.

super easy going. We had a little bit of a tough time finding a photographer who was able to do both indoor and outdoor shots- many specialize more in outdoor wedding/reception- so we were happy to find out that Derek is awesome at both. I would highly recommend.

emely organized and detail-oriented, which made my job that much easier! We got our pictures back three days ago and they are absolutely perfect. Derek was awesome about double checking any specific shots we wanted and listening to our ideas. Derek was everything you want in a wedding photographer. Running around in an all black outfit on an 85 degree day, he captured some of the most incredible wedding photos that I ha...
ve ever seen. Relying on his own skill, Derek “edited” our photos in-camera and did very little re-touching in photoshop or similar photo editing software. It is absolutely true that one's own wedding day goes by far too quickly, but Derek's photos are a cherished reminder of the best day of our lives. We have received glowing reviews from family and friends (and even the odd perfect stranger) about just how well Derek and his assistant Jeremiah captured the ceremony. Hurrying us out of the reception to capture a chance rainbow (it really is good luck to have rain at your wedding), Derek gave us a single photo worth 10-times his fee. If he is still working in 30 or so years, we will undoubtedly be hiring Derek for our children's wedding.

Derek Di Luzio is simply ah-maz-ing.
From the start Derek was receptive and excited about our wedding and he was prompt and courteous with all communication. On the day of his excitement was contagious! Even his helper was friendly and shared his enthusiasm (he watched my shoes and held my lunch all while taking pictures, true story!). Hiring the right photographer was one of my biggest concerns, I wanted a professional that would leave me and my husband with lasting memories that were classic and beautiful... all while making me look as skinny as possible. I can honestly say that Derek delivered on all counts.
The final results are breathtaking!
Our pictures are gorgeous, and everyone (not just myself) looks beautiful and happy. I have pictures that I am not only proud to share but excited to pass down. I would hire him again in a heartbeat.
Thanks Derek!

Derek's pictures perfectly captured the Day - the joy, the excitement, the fun, the beauty, even the food! His pictures will always bring us back in time to enjoy the Day again!

uestions and since our site was local, he made a trip to scope out spots for photos. He was thoughtful about every shot he took which showed in his work. He is easy to be around and helped make the day fun. For value, he had several options to choose from so that he could fit into our budget. We would definitely recommend him for future weddings!
Derek did our engagement photo shoot on Cape Cod this summer and I cannot say enough good things about the service as well as the finished product. Derek made us feel comfortable ...
during the whole experience, with his relaxed and professional approach. He was creative with the backdrops and poses, and has the unique ability to capture very natural expressions and feelings during a "formal" shoot. The finalized pictures are beautifully edited with amazing colors and depth, and were a nice combination of color pictures and black and white. My fiance and I are so happy with our photos and would recommend Derek to anyone thinking of doing an engagement shoot!
Derek was an absolute joy to work with on our wedding day. The pictures he took are absolutely stunning! He was easy to work with, calm in stressful situations, and made taking the...
pictures a ton of fun. He truly has a vision for quality work.
Our wedding day had terrible, rainy weather. When I called to ask about getting umbrellas, Derek had already been on the search for them for over an hour before I'd said anything. It was comforting to know he was thinking about all those details, and that I could focus on just getting married and enjoying the day. He found a way to take beautiful pictures in the rain and make them each something special. He was also open to any requests I made about photos I wanted.
Derek did a great job as our wedding photographer! I am incredibly happy with the way he document our wedding day from the big events all the way down to the little details. Thank you, Derek!
