Dering Harbor Inn

I looked at many wedding venues in the Hamptons and can honestly say Dering Harbor is hands down the most beautiful wedding venue there is. The bluff, the boats in the harbor, the sunset - there is nothing like it. Our guests were blown away and nearly everyone said the night felt magical. The manager Sherri and Barbara in the office were terrific resources throughout the wedding planning - from introducing us to the priest, to handling all our guest reservations (that changed multiple times), to running to the post office the day of the wedding to get my table numbers. Everything is very personal and intimate - you feel like you are getting married at your best friend's house not at a hotel. Some people might be discouraged because they think Shelter Island is difficult to get to, but many of our guests stayed in Greenport and it was very easy to coordinate transportation back and forth. The only reason I took .5 points off is that it is probably more expensive than other venues when you consider all the rentals that are required, but in my opinion it's worth it. Many thanks to Dering Harbor for making our wedding day the best day of our lives! My husband and I look forward to celebrating many anniversaries at Dering Harbor for years to come.
