We could not have loved Ben more. Our pictures surpassed our expectations. He is so talented. He also is so much fun to work with. He brings a very fun personality to the wedding day and he was attentive to give us everything we asked for. We loved him!!

Derk's Works were an absolute dream! Working with Ben for both our engagement photos and wedding was such a joy. Pictures aren't exactly "easy" for us, but Ben made us so comfortable--it was like hanging out with a friend for a few hours. And the pictures were STUNNING. Truly could not imagine working with anyone else.

Benjamin was absolutely amazing on our wedding day. He is calm, collected, knowledgeable, and funny. He was a sounding board and calming presence throughout the day for myself, my spouse, and Maid of Honor. He is so incredible at what he does and really takes time to think through poses and locations to make sure your day is captured. I can't say enough about how satisfied I am with our pictures and how everything turned out. Thank you!!!

Benjamin and his team were incredible to work with for our engagement/wedding- they are so talented and kind, and our preview photos blew my mind I can’t wait to see the rest! He was efficient with getting shots so we could keep moving throughout the day. You can see him thinking in photographs, and he notices small things, so I knew he would get the details I wanted to include. Benjamin was always so positive and relaxed, which with how much time you spend with your photographer was great! We also used the Fauxtobooth, and I was a little nervous people wouldn’t use it but man was I wrong. Everyone had a great time, the pictures ended up being incredible and being able to look at those a couple days after the wedding was so fun! Taylor kept the energy up and made everyone feel comfortable being silly while also taking note of small interactions that turned into beautiful pictures all of our guests love

We hired Derk's Works as our wedding photographers, and they did an absolutely fantastic job. Jennifer led us through the day smoothly, and really listened to me about what was important to us for our timeline and photos. She brought such a great energy to the day!! I also cannot recommend the fauxtobooth enough, our guests loved it!

Ben was phenomenal and a master of finding the perfect lighting and spots for inspired pictures. We did First Look pictures along with pictures at our venue and what really makes his pictures stand out is the artistry versus the typical wedding photos. Derks Works also offers a variety of packages so it was easy and flexible to work with them.

Derk's Works is amazing! We knew as soon as we met Benjamin that he was a great fit for us. He is very personable and made us feel comfortable in public spaces during our engagement photos. When our trolley broke down on our wedding day, he immediately started scouting the area for brackdrops and photogenic spots for our wedding party to continue with our wedding photos. He did not waste any time and did a great job finding every photo opportunity to help turn our day around. He went above and beyond when he drove my husband and me to one of wedding photo locations after we lost the trolley. Our photos turned out great. In addition, Jennifer was very responsive to all of our emails and questions. We definitely feel like we made the best choice with Derk's Works!

Ben and Taylor fell like guests by the end of the night! That’s how friendly and subtle they are while taking photos of everything. The faux booth was a highlight of the wedding and they were great with the kids. I would recommend them to everyone and anyone who wants stunning photos and the sweetest photographer.

Wow, just wow! Using Derk's Works was easily our best decision in the wedding planning process. Benjamin and Jennifer are beyond wonderful to work with. They were so sweet and professional on the wedding day, with the added bonus of being a calming presence. We got so many compliments about them from our wedding party and our guests. Excellent work! I called Ben and Josh the dream team. Very professional, friendly, and organized for all the photos were taken. We really enjoyed having them as a photographer and videographer. They have a great communication with bride and followed all the itinerary and shots previously planned. They made me, the bride, super comfortable while the photo shooting. Also, we we impressed they stayed till pretty late (I would say they worked for like 12 hours). We highly recommend them!!

WOW. I could not have asked for a better wedding photographer. Benjamin was absolutely incredible. I had a very specific idea of what I wanted and had searched through 25+ photographers before finding Derk's Works. Several times throughout the day/night, Benjamin would pull my husband and I aside and read us a quote or lyrics to help us regroup and focus on the moment. He truly cared about us being present and mindful of our love and what the day was really about. Furthermore, he was so much fun and wonderful to work with. After posting our preview pictures, everyone was absolutely blown away by the beautiful images. My best friend and Maid of Honor actually hired Benjamin for her wedding because she was so impressed. 10/10 would recommend to anyone and everyone!

Incredibly talented and exceptionally professional. Having Benjamin as our wedding photographer was the best wedding decision we made. He captured our wedding day moments with amazing artistry. AND he was SO easy to work with and made everyone feel at ease throughout the day! He magically got my nephews to smile nicely for our photos and was the perfect amount of in control of the situation without imposing himself on the important moments. I cannot recommend him highly enough!

We just received our engagement pictures from Derk's Works and we are beyond thrilled with the results! Anyone can see from looking at their website or social media that they take stunning photos but what you get when you hire them is so much more. Working with Jennifer on logistics and planning has been a dream. I'm never left waiting for email responses to my 7,000 questions (including questions about things that don't really have to do with our wedding photography). She is what every person planning a wedding hopes for when hiring a vendor! A few weeks ago we had our engagement shoot with Benjamin and we walked away feeling like we 100% made the right decision in choosing who would photograph our wedding. We spent three hours with Benjamin and Josh with Feikert Creative and it felt like hanging out with old friends who just happened to be really, really, REALLY good with a camera. We were kind of nervous going into our session like I think most people who aren't regularly photographed probably are, but they immediately put us at ease and made the whole process a breeze. We can't wait to have them at our wedding!

Benjamin and Jennifer are true pros and artists. From the very beginning, they were so communicative and took the time to get to know us personally — even though we lived across the country, in a totally different time zone. We had the honor of having Benjamin photograph our wedding day. He was INCREDIBLE. He truly put everyone at ease and was such a great addition to the wedding day. He knew when to sit back and be a fly on the wall and when to step forward and organize a group. He also was extremely helpful in making the day run smoothly by sticking to timelines and prompting when it was time to move on. He is also AMAZING with kids and we had a lot of nephews and nieces in our photos. Every single one with a smile and looking at the camera!! A true miracle! Haha. He has an artistic vision and was able to communicate it in a way with us that made us really excited to get our photos back. He was also able to give us prompts and talk to us throughout the photos that really captured real emotion rather than feeling staged or too “posey”. Also.... incredible eye for the black and white shots too, which are my personal favorite. 5,000% worth it. We are so glad we went with Derks Works and that Benjamin photographed our day!!!! No poses were forced or awkward, and by keeping the focus on us for both our engagement photos and on our wedding day, we both felt appreciated and able to just let our love for each other shine in each moment. We had to reschedule our engagement photos and they were so accommodating! Benjamin and Jennifer did such an amazing job from getting ready the morning of the wedding all through the reception at the end of the day, capturing precious family moments and memories that made me tear up looking at, reliving them with each photo my husband and I looked through. Could not have asked for a better photographer! I was so worried about the rain on my wedding day and Benjamin had the best ideas and backup plans. Both Jennifer and Benjamin are the sweetest people and exceeded my expectations with my wedding and engagement pictures!

Friends and family who who did not make it to the wedding get emotional just from the preview of photos. Wedding photographers are expensive, more than I thought, but Derk’s Works is definitely worth every penny to have beautiful lasting images of your special event. They not only do a great job of capturing beautiful portraits but they also do an amazing job of capturing all of the in the moment memories. Best photographers on earth! Literally. This team goes beyond to capture moments that tell the story of the day. Every frame is shot with a purpose that exemplifies what the couple is about. Lots of laughter and love the entire day. Ben always makes you feel relaxed, and the candid shots make you wonder how he got them without being noticed. We found Ben to be very detailed in he work and creativity. He use if the natural surroundings, lighting and the splender of the venue really captured the event. We had the "fauxtobooth" at our wedding and I cannot stop gushing about it! It was so much fun and different from your typical photobooth experience. It was right next to the dance floor and we had people dancing in and out of pictures all night! The way they get such awesome, fun pictures is so incredible! Our guests are still complimenting it and half of the guests have a new profile picture thanks to this! Cannot recommend this enough! You will not regret booking this!

Best photographer ever! From day one Benjamin was enjoyable to work with (his wife too). He appeared to understand mine and my husband care-free personality, as well as our lack of wedding knowledge and catered to reflect this in such a professional, personable manner. On our wedding day he rose above his duties and helped make sure the day went smoothly (i.e. helped to organize flowers drop off, made sure the rings made it to the appropriate person, etc). During the wedding he was equipped with two cameras and didn’t miss a thing! My guest kept saying that the camera-man was on it and also polite and funny. If I could give them 10 stars I would. Derk's Works was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. From the first point of contact until we picked up our pictures they have been amazing. They were organized and professional, but that is only the start. They delivered some of the best images I have ever seen, not only for our wedding but many others weddings (just look at their blog). Benjamin is everything you want on your wedding day, he is laid back, calm, and just genuinely and amazing person to be around. Simply his presence eased my nerves on our wedding day. His photography style is truly one of a kind and the best we could have asked for. If you want organic, in the moment images that capture the true beauty of the day, go with Derk's Works. If you want creative photography with amazing editing go with Derk's Works. If you have a fur child like we do (our dog is seriously our life) and having him a part of our day was so important to us. The pictures Benjamin captured of our dog are the best. We are obviously partial to our dog and think he is the cutest, but you cannot love him when you see Derk's Works images of him. Picking a photographer for one of the most important days of your life is a daunting task. Even when you go on the knot there is hundreds of options and you just want the perfect one. Derk's works is seriously the perfect one. The way Benjamin experiences his surroundings and what he sees looking through the lens is truly remarkable. I truly thought our wedding day came out perfect, just has I had imagined and planned, but I can honestly say it would not have been as perfect without Derk's Works. Even before our wedding day our engagement shoot was perfect, and all of Derk's Works images transferred perfectly onto our save the dates, invitations and thank yous. Our wedding was in New York, so the photographer options were plenty and talented. But after seeing the photos Ben shot for a friend, we knew he would be part of our day too. Everyone at Derks Works truly blew us away. From the first (Skype) meeting with Benjamin, to all of the thoughtful and timely management by Jennifer... every interaction was a pleasure and reassured us we had found the right team for us - along with Josh to capture video. They understood what we were looking for and quickly got us comfortable in front of the camera. Their easy-going personality made it fun and allowed us to be ourselves, versus focusing too much on the fact we were having our pictures/video taken. We've only received the preview so far and every shot is our favorite. They managed to capture genuine emotions in the most beautiful way - of us as well as the gusts! Seeing the photos brings to life the day in such a vivid way. We cannot say enough good things about the entire team at Derks Works and will be forever appreciative of their partnership, attitude and unmatchable talent.

Derk's Works truly captured our wedding preparations and day-of festivities to it's fullest! Benjamin and Jenn worked with my husband and I in capturing engagement photos and a photobooth for our wedding guests. I love the way these two are so genuine in wanting to know their clients. We loved our experience of taking engagement photos, the way that Benjamin made this such a laid-back, casual experience while taking high-class photos blows me away. We proudly have these photos on display in our homes and with friends and family. Now, the photobooth- this was truly an experience of it's own! Our wedding guests continue to rave about this fun experience months later. We appreciate the way that Derk's Works engaged our guests, captured the emotion and provided custom props, and a quick turn-around with photos. It was amazing- guests were posting their photo-booth photos on social media just days later!

If you are in need of a wedding photographer, do yourself a favor and go with Derk’s Works. I cannot recommend them enough. The photography for our wedding was one of the most important elements and we wanted to make sure it was perfect. After meeting with Ben it wasn’t even a question as to whether or not we were going to hire him. He is very experienced and our wedding pictures are better than I could have ever imagined. We were looking for something a little less traditional and a littler more creative and he definitely delivered. He was also a HUGE help on the day of and I don’t know if we would’ve made it through the day without his direction. We didn’t have a wedding planner or coordinator, but Ben made sure we stayed on schedule. He was a blast to hang out with for the day and I can’t say enough about him or his work!

I don't even know where to begin. I am so thankful my sister introduced me to Derk's Works! As an amateur photographer myself, I was extremely picky about what I wanted in a wedding photographer. After our initial meeting with Benjamin, I knew we HAD to have him shoot our wedding. He truly has has a gift for capturing raw, genuine emotion. His eye for light and creative genius create beautiful, unique images that tell your story. Our engagement photos turned out amazing. Benjamin helped us feel comfortable in front of the camera and tied each image to a song lyric, quote or game which makes the images that much more meaningful. We cannot wait to have Benjamin and Jennifer shoot our wedding! We booked the whole package: photography, videography and photobooth. If you're debating whether you should have a photobooth, DO IT. It's worth every penny. Derk's Works photobooth is manned by a live photographer which makes it a fun, interactive activity for the wedding. The quality of the photobooth pictures are unmatched and it's so nice that guests can download them on their phones a few days after the wedding! People thought my sister's Photo Booth pictures were her wedding photos. I really can't say enough great things about Derk's Works. A top notch family-run business.

I’m not sure that one review could accurately represent how thankful I am to Ben and Jennifer at Derk’s Works for the most incredible job they did capturing our special day. The images are so unbelievably beautiful that even my camera shy husband looks like he’s enjoying himself! On top of that this husband-and-wife duo are so warm and friendly and were a pleasure to have at the wedding! I would also recommend Derk’s Works for their videography, something that was extremely important to us! We have some amazing memories to look back on for many years and I would recommend them to anyone! Great value for money, great creative vision and great people, what more can you ask for?!

Where do I️ begin! I️ was easily sold on Derk’s Works because they have their dog listed as an employee and he has his own bio. Being a veterinarian and animal lover this was a no brainer! So that was the start of our relationship. I️ reached out and expressed interest and Benjamin and his wife immediately replied. Being in Kansas and planning a wedding in Ohio wasn’t easy but Benjamin worked over the phone with us and via email. My hubby and I️ really wanted engagement photos with our zoo of dogs and cats. Benjamin made the journey to Kansas and ventured with us to a few places and even in our backyard with our dogs to get some very beautiful captures of us and our little furry family. Benjamin was so much fun and he really went above and beyond to get to know us and make us feel so very comfortable. I️ was so excited after our engagement photos to know he’d be back with us on our wedding day to capture our special moments. He did just that. A friend recommended me to Derk's Works, as they had used them in the past and were also close friends with the owners. When my mom looked through their website, she knew we had to have Benjamin to capture the celebration of my wedding. I had no idea what to expect when it came to having a photographer around just photographing all the moments of the day. Benjamin was great - he helped coach my camera-shyness/awkwardness throughout the day, he was anywhere and everywhere...but never in the way, he even helped the groomsmen affix their boutonnieres. Though we might have been feeling awkward at times trying to make our expressions look natural for different shots, Benjamin urged us to not worry about the cameras or anyone around us, but to live in our moment together. I don't know how many people came up to us after the wedding and still today continue to speak so highly of Benjamin during the wedding - his energy and work was noticed by all. I cannot wait to see the rest of the perfect pictures!

I cannot say enough about Ben and his team!!! With us being in Cleveland, and him based out of Columbus, he made everything so easy to coordinate. He was truly a dream to work with and that doesn't even begin to describe his work. Our photos are like nothing I could have ever imagined, he truly made every vision a reality! He is a true artist- thank you!!

Photos to us were one of the most important part of our wedding day and Derk's Work captured it beautifully. I could not have imagined working with a better team on our special day. Not only were all of our photos perfect the team is also amazing and fun to work with! The photobook albums we got are something we will cherish forever. Derk's did our engagement pictures and wedding and they are perfect. Not to mentioned everyone absolutely loved the photbooth. Will have this team do family pictures in the future for sure!

WORTH. EVERY. PENNY. I cannot say enough great things about Derk's Works. I had to change my engagement session last minute because I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Benjamin and Jennifer were accommodating and worked with us with no questions asked. They invited us into their studio to talk about our ideas and I felt comfortable giving Benjamin full creative freedom at our wedding. I just got back our wedding photos and they are original and beautiful. I don't know how I will pick which ones to hang in my home. We also did the photobooth which was fun for everyone at the reception and we got some more great photos. Jennifer helped people pose to make every photo cute. The kids at the reception loved it too!

Other than saying "YES" to my wife the day of our wedding, the best decision I / we made was having Benjamin Derkin photograph our big, big day. When perusing the collection of the final photo selections, I was absolutely blown away at all of the little (and big) details captured by Benjamin. No stone went unturned and every photo was a reflection of my wife's hard work, our guest's enjoyment, our friends, our family, the little nuances special to us...the candid moments that can't be captured again. Not to mention, we paid to have our small ceremony / reception at Jeffrey Mansion in Bexley...a beautiful, stunning setting on a nice day. He did a magical job at bringing the setting to life in the photos...something we greatly, greatly appreciated. But I've talked enough...LOOK AT THE PHOTOS. His work clearly speaks for itself. Not to mention, f you or a guest struggle to tie a bow-tie the day of your wedding, he's there for you...

Benjamin and his crew were great! Ben is super down to earth and made my husband and I feel at ease on our wedding day. This helped us to get some wonderful "in the moment" candid shots that I will treasure forever. Ben also handled the obligatory family shots like a pro and came up with some fun, inventive poses for the bridal party shots. From the planning process to the day of I felt like all the details were taken care of by DW. Derks Works also took care of our videography and I would highly recommend them for this as well. Our trailer video makes us look like celebrities and the entire editing is done very well and with a wonderful flow. I barely noticed the camera was there on my wedding day. I would highly recommend DW if you're looking for some gorgeous photos and video and a very personable and accommodating crew.

Hands down, Derk's Works was the BEST decision we made for our wedding. We had the pleasure of working with four members of the Derk's Works team for photography, a photo booth and videography, and not one of them felt like vendors whatsoever. Each of them truly felt like friends we had invited to share in our special day. From the moment they arrived, they wanted to help, whether it was to fix my bustle, get me water, fix a bridesmaid's hair, track the time, ANYTHING. Our guests even commented about how much fun they had with the photographers and how excited they were to see the unique moments the team captured. We had previews of our photos within days of our wedding. The photo booth photos were completed within 48 hours, and they were INCREDIBLE. Many of our friends and family members have already downloaded those images to use for social media profiles and even to print and have in their homes. We can't say enough good things about Derk's Works. Thank you all from the bottom of our happy hearts for capturing our most precious memories.

As soon as we bought a home, we knew exactly who to contact for professional family photos! Jennifer and Ben were so flexible with unexpected changes to our schedules and gave us two options for family sessions.We ended up choosing the mini-family (30 minutes/40 photos). Not only did Ben shoot for more than 30 minutes, but we got double the photos! I knew Ben from working in the wedding industry and knew my boyfriend would love his personality and work. Within minutes Ben was showing me how to pose with Alex! HA! It was such a fun and relaxing session. At the end Jennifer came with their two kids! They are the sweetest family and work so in sync with one another. Their work is amazing and their family is even more incredible. Without a doubt we would recommend them for family, engagement or wedding photos (or even to just have lunch with :) )!! We can't thank you enough!
