Derk's Works

pared for our wedding, and within 5 minutes of our first call, I knew he was going to the best fit for us! During our wedding, he did not make it feel like a photo shoot at all. At the end of our wedding, I was not exhausted from photos. He worked with us to make sure he knew what kind of photos we wanted, and he captured so many precious moments from the whole day. We were amazed at all of the photos he took during the day and loved seeing the personalities and raw emotions of everyone through the pictures. The quality of images were spectacular, and we received them very quickly. We also had the Fauxtobooth during our reception and our guests loved it! Additionally, Benjamin was incredibly kind and caring during the whole process and truly was excited to be there. He made us feel like we could just be ourselves in front of the camera. We were very touched by his joy and kindness. I could not recommend Derk’s Works enough!

om the moment we met Ben, his vibrant and creative spirit was evident. His passion for photography and dedication to capturing authentic moments made him the perfect choice for our special day. What sets Ben apart is not only his technical skill but also his ability to infuse every photograph with genuine emotion and personality. Ben's sense of humor was a breath of fresh air throughout the entire process. From the initial consultation to the wedding day itself, he kept us laughing and at ease. His relaxed and friendly demeanor created a comfortable atmosphere that allowed us to be ourselves in front of the camera. It felt like having a friend by our side, making the experience enjoyable and stress-free. His creativity knows no bounds. Ben has an incredible eye for detail, capturing not only the big moments but also the subtle nuances that make each moment unique. He has an innate ability to find beauty in unexpected places, turning ordinary scenes into extraordinary works of art. The way he played with light and composition added a cinematic quality to our photos, creating a timeless collection that we will cherish for a lifetime. What impressed me most about Ben was his dedication to his craft. He approached each shot with precision and passion, ensuring that every image told a story. His commitment to excellence and his genuine love for what he does are evident in the stunning results he delivered. Choosing Benjamin Derkin as our wedding photographer was one of the best decisions we made. His work is not just a collection of photographs; it's a visual narrative of the love, joy, and laughter that filled our special day. I am beyond grateful for the memories he captured so beautifully, and I know that his work will be treasured by my family for generations to come. In conclusion, Benjamin Derkin is not just a photographer; he is a storyteller, a friend, and a true artist behind the lens. I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone seeking a talented, personable, and passionate photographer who will turn your moments into timeless memories. The Groom Mario Perez Jr.

ay and he was attentive to give us everything we asked for. We loved him!!

le--it was like hanging out with a friend for a few hours. And the pictures were STUNNING. Truly could not imagine working with anyone else.

spouse, and Maid of Honor. He is so incredible at what he does and really takes time to think through poses and locations to make sure your day is captured. I can't say enough about how satisfied I am with our pictures and how everything turned out. Thank you!!!

as efficient with getting shots so we could keep moving throughout the day. You can see him thinking in photographs, and he notices small things, so I knew he would get the details I wanted to include. Benjamin was always so positive and relaxed, which with how much time you spend with your photographer was great! We also used the Fauxtobooth, and I was a little nervous people wouldn’t use it but man was I wrong. Everyone had a great time, the pictures ended up being incredible and being able to look at those a couple days after the wedding was so fun! Taylor kept the energy up and made everyone feel comfortable being silly while also taking note of small interactions that turned into beautiful pictures all of our guests love

but what you may not know is how fun and amazing the experience is! Absolutely Amazing and very highly recommended.

ortant to us for our timeline and photos. She brought such a great energy to the day!! I also cannot recommend the fauxtobooth enough, our guests loved it!

is pictures stand out is the artistry versus the typical wedding photos. Derks Works also offers a variety of packages so it was easy and flexible to work with them.

t photos. When our trolley broke down on our wedding day, he immediately started scouting the area for brackdrops and photogenic spots for our wedding party to continue with our wedding photos. He did not waste any time and did a great job finding every photo opportunity to help turn our day around. He went above and beyond when he drove my husband and me to one of wedding photo locations after we lost the trolley. Our photos turned out great. In addition, Jennifer was very responsive to all of our emails and questions. We definitely feel like we made the best choice with Derk's Works!

d they were great with the kids. I would recommend them to everyone and anyone who wants stunning photos and the sweetest photographer.

essional on the wedding day, with the added bonus of being a calming presence. We got so many compliments about them from our wedding party and our guests. They rolled with the punches and captured all of the important little moments, plus much more. Not to mention their photos, ugh! Our wedding pictures turned out absolutely stunning. More beautiful than we could ever have imagined. Thank you SO MUCH guys!

y. We were so impressed with how he captured every, single moment and dealt with fussy ring bearers. Highly recommend, you will not be disappointed!

help his couples enjoy their big day and make sure their favorite memories will be captured forever. You don’t realize how much of your wedding day you will spend with your photographer, but he was there to help calm our nerves, offer moral support, and celebrate the day all while capturing beautiful, creative photos! Thank you so much Benjamin!

videographer. They have a great communication with bride and followed all the itinerary and shots previously planned. They made me, the bride, super comfortable while the photo shooting. Also, we we impressed they stayed till pretty late (I would say they worked for like 12 hours). We highly recommend them!!

phers before finding Derk's Works. Several times throughout the day/night, Benjamin would pull my husband and I aside and read us a quote or lyrics to help us regroup and focus on the moment. He truly cared about us being present and mindful of our love and what the day was really about. Furthermore, he was so much fun and wonderful to work with. After posting our preview pictures, everyone was absolutely blown away by the beautiful images. My best friend and Maid of Honor actually hired Benjamin for her wedding because she was so impressed. 10/10 would recommend to anyone and everyone!

zing artistry. AND he was SO easy to work with and made everyone feel at ease throughout the day! He magically got my nephews to smile nicely for our photos and was the perfect amount of in control of the situation without imposing himself on the important moments. I cannot recommend him highly enough!

stunning photos but what you get when you hire them is so much more. Working with Jennifer on logistics and planning has been a dream. I'm never left waiting for email responses to my 7,000 questions (including questions about things that don't really have to do with our wedding photography). She is what every person planning a wedding hopes for when hiring a vendor! A few weeks ago we had our engagement shoot with Benjamin and we walked away feeling like we 100% made the right decision in choosing who would photograph our wedding. We spent three hours with Benjamin and Josh with Feikert Creative and it felt like hanging out with old friends who just happened to be really, really, REALLY good with a camera. We were kind of nervous going into our session like I think most people who aren't regularly photographed probably are, but they immediately put us at ease and made the whole process a breeze. We can't wait to have them at our wedding!

s so professional but also fun and incredibly helpful! It was like having a friend around who happens to also be taking pictures of your wedding day. I could not be happier with the service, product, and pricing I received from Derk's Works! Highly, HIGHLY recommend!

e country, in a totally different time zone. We feel like they captured our personalities in our wedding pictures, and gave us a truly unique set of photographs to remember the big day. We so appreciate all the time, care, and craft they put into their work and we cannot recommend them highly enough!

it back and be a fly on the wall and when to step forward and organize a group. He also was extremely helpful in making the day run smoothly by sticking to timelines and prompting when it was time to move on. He is also AMAZING with kids and we had a lot of nephews and nieces in our photos. Every single one with a smile and looking at the camera!! A true miracle! Haha. He has an artistic vision and was able to communicate it in a way with us that made us really excited to get our photos back. He was also able to give us prompts and talk to us throughout the photos that really captured real emotion rather than feeling staged or too “posey”. Also.... incredible eye for the black and white shots too, which are my personal favorite. 5,000% worth it. We are so glad we went with Derks Works and that Benjamin photographed our day!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

urn each moment on your wedding day into a masterpiece. Every photo is lovingly and meticulously edited to create a work of art. They understand that the details matter, the moments matter, the lighting matters, the setting matters. The authenticity of the images captured on our wedding day each reveal deep emotion: joy, sentiment, gratitude, and the most profound love. I was amazed at how considerate and professional Benjamin was, and how natural it felt having our photos taken. No poses were forced or awkward, and by keeping the focus on us for both our engagement photos and on our wedding day, we both felt appreciated and able to just let our love for each other shine in each moment. We had to reschedule our engagement photos and they were so accommodating! Benjamin and Jennifer did such an amazing job from getting ready the morning of the wedding all through the reception at the end of the day, capturing precious family moments and memories that made me tear up looking at, reliving them with each photo my husband and I looked through. He helped us ease through the wedding day without having to think about anything except for enjoying our day together as all the planning and coordinating paid off. Benjamin was so creative and thoughtful of what was needed during the day, and Jennifer did a fantastic job with the Photo Booth at the reception — I couldn’t tell you how many times I got compliments on our photographers that we picked and how much fun the photobooth was!! They made the photography worry and stress-free; what’s more, they have given my husband and I so many special photos and memories that will be cherished forever. Derk’s Works is amazing, and I’d recommend them to anyone! Benjamin and Jennifer, thank you for being one of the most important parts of our day and for capturing memories for us to be passed down through generations. We are so grateful.

he sweetest people and exceeded my expectations with my wedding and engagement pictures!

out absolutely stunning! Benjamin is more than just a wedding photographer. Not only is he a true artist in his work, but he is just an amazing person. The day of your wedding, you will have no idea how much support he is providing besides just taking photos. So many of my family and friends have commented on how great he was and the number of things he did to ensure our day went smoothly. I barely knew he was there, but he was always in the background capturing moments which is evident in his amazing photos. Friends and family who who did not make it to the wedding get emotional just from the preview of photos. Wedding photographers are expensive, more than I thought, but Derk’s Works is definitely worth every penny to have beautiful lasting images of your special event. Your only regret would be not picking Benjamin to capture your day. Thank you a million times over to Benjamin and Jennifer!

do a great job of capturing beautiful portraits but they also do an amazing job of capturing all of the in the moment memories. Benjamin is very professional and personable and you can tell from the moment you meet him how passionate he is about his work.

e is about. Lots of laughter and love the entire day. Ben always makes you feel relaxed, and the candid shots make you wonder how he got them without being noticed. I will forever be grateful for the memories he has created.

from the couple shots to the photo booth (which I highly recommend!) No one will make you feel more comfortable, loved, and like straight up models on your wedding day.

its memory, so we knew this was a priority for us. Not only do these two produce stunning images that are genuine and avoid that staged look, but they help you to have a day that really focuses on what matters: your love, joy, and commitment to one another. We really appreciated how professional both Benjamin and Jennifer were, interacting with everyone in a way that was kind, supportive, and understanding of various needs. They also had great little tips and truly understood how to help us enjoy and relax. They also helped us to remain in the moment, sometimes prompting us with poetry or song lyrics or stealing us away for private little moments, which ended up being some of our very favorite of the day. We are extremely grateful for the work that Derk’s Works did. They are true artists and wonderful people. I can’t recommend them enough.

and talent that translates the story of the evenings events in photographs that will bring to life the memories of the day for a lifetime. We highly recommend Ben, he was a pleasure to work with.

we knew 100% he was the one we needed for the wedding. He made us feel so comfortable and at ease during one of the most stressful day of our lives. Jennifer and Benjamin were always awesome about getting back to us ASAP with any questions we had and made the whole wedding process that less stressful. He is so talented at what he does that pictures speak for themselves. You will not be disappointed!!!

ough! We will definitely be using them again in our future!

floor and we had people dancing in and out of pictures all night! The way they get such awesome, fun pictures is so incredible! Our guests are still complimenting it and half of the guests have a new profile picture thanks to this! Cannot recommend this enough! You will not regret booking this!

ave them with us on our wedding day. They are very professional but also got to know the personality of our wedding party and played along. He had great advice on the timing schedule for pictures - we didn't feel rushed at all! Our entire wedding party and many wedding guests gave compliments about how great they both were to spend the day with and how fun and creative they are when taking pictures. The pictures were even more incredible than I could have imagined! He has such a fantastic eye for candid shots as well as the formal portraits of the wedding party. Whenever we look through our pictures we feel like we're back on our wedding day. Every aspect of Derk's Works exceed our expectations of a wedding photographer - I hope you can experience them too!

s was going to document our day exactly how we wanted it. I feel like it was fate we found Ben and we are so thrilled that he was able to capture our day in such a beautiful way. The creativity and artistry that Ben puts into every photo - along with his personality - is beyond anything we could have dreamed of to document the best day of our lives. We wanted candid and artful pictures that we could hang on our walls and share with our families and that’s exactly what we got. I will always remember the fun we had with Ben and his crew, and just how creatively he was able to bring out the love and happiness in every photo. Thanks for making us look stunning and glamorous- we will cherish these pictures for many years to come!

our wedding day. They were very professional and organized so everything ran smoothly. Then, during the reception, our guests even commented about how great and fun Benjamin was. The images we received were beyond amazing! We are so happy with them and have received compliments from everyone who sees them.

and remind us for the reason of the day. It had us talking about what brought us together and why we loved each other. He snapped away as we talked.... we’ve only seen the preview but they are SO amazing. We couldn’t be happier with his work; he’s truly an artist. I highly recommend :)

wedding knowledge and catered to reflect this in such a professional, personable manner. On our wedding day he rose above his duties and helped make sure the day went smoothly (i.e. helped to organize flowers drop off, made sure the rings made it to the appropriate person, etc). During the wedding he was equipped with two cameras and didn’t miss a thing! My guest kept saying that the camera-man was on it and also polite and funny. I could continue to rave about the service, but I will end here. Thank you Derk’s Works for being part of our wedding day!

edding photos by my husband, family and friends is: stunning. The Derkins are the type of photographers who turn each moment on your wedding day into a masterpiece. Every photo is lovingly and meticulously edited to create a work of art. They understand that the details matter, the moments matter, the lighting matters, the setting matters. The authenticity of the images captured on our wedding day each reveal deep emotion: joy, sentiment, gratitude, and the most profound love. I knew from the moment I saw the Derk's Works photography blog that they were the wedding photographers for our big day. Benjamin is the primary photographer and his wife, Jennifer, is the manager of the business side of things, as well as a second shooter. Throughout the wedding planning process, the Derkins were the most organized and prompt vendors we worked with. We appreciated that they stuck to deadlines and kept our wedding as a priority within their business. Their pricing is fair and their sincere approach to their work is clear. Benjamin is extremely talented and captured our wedding day far better than we even imagined. At one point, my mom told me he was standing on a small ledge with his feet forward, his torso backward, shooting over his shoulder so that he photographed the first look with gorgeous lighting. If you book with Derk's Works, your wedding photos will be anything but typical, and you will relive your wedding day with photos taken in vibrant color, with pure emotion, and through the images of sweet, fleeting moments that represent the finest golden memories in life. Benjamin and Jennifer, thank you for being one of the most important parts of our day and for capturing memories for us to be passed down through generations. We are so grateful.

been amazing. They were organized and professional, but that is only the start. They delivered some of the best images I have ever seen, not only for our wedding but many others weddings (just look at their blog). Benjamin is everything you want on your wedding day, he is laid back, calm, and just genuinely and amazing person to be around. Simply his presence eased my nerves on our wedding day. His photography style is truly one of a kind and the best we could have asked for. If you want organic, in the moment images that capture the true beauty of the day, go with Derk's Works. If you want creative photography with amazing editing go with Derk's Works. If you want someone who will be there morning to night to capture every little, but very important detail, go with Derk's Works. If you want someone who gets to know you and understand your personality, and deliver images that reflect that, go with Derk's Works. If you have a fur child like we do (our dog is seriously our life) and having him a part of our day was so important to us. The pictures Benjamin captured of our dog are the best. We are obviously partial to our dog and think he is the cutest, but you cannot love him when you see Derk's Works images of him. Picking a photographer for one of the most important days of your life is a daunting task. Even when you go on the knot there is hundreds of options and you just want the perfect one. Derk's works is seriously the perfect one. The way Benjamin experiences his surroundings and what he sees looking through the lens is truly remarkable. I truly thought our wedding day came out perfect, just has I had imagined and planned, but I can honestly say it would not have been as perfect without Derk's Works. Even before our wedding day our engagement shoot was perfect, and all of Derk's Works images transferred perfectly onto our save the dates, invitations and thank yous. Obviously my husband and I cannot stop talking about how amazing they are, but our entire wedding party, our family and friends all spoke of how amazing, professional, kind and creative our photographers were. I could go on and on about how awesome this team is but just check out their blog, follow Derk's Works on instagram and you can see for yourself how truly amazing and creative their work is. My husband and I are people that take reviews seriously, we don't make any decision or purchases (big or small) without reading reviews. I feel so honored to be able to write a review for Derk's Works to thank them for the best possible outcome on our wedding day. We look forward to using them in the future for our family as it grows.

work! You have an awesome eye with your camera!:)

one at Derks Works truly blew us away. From the first (Skype) meeting with Benjamin, to all of the thoughtful and timely management by Jennifer... every interaction was a pleasure and reassured us we had found the right team for us - along with Josh to capture video. They understood what we were looking for and quickly got us comfortable in front of the camera. Their easy-going personality made it fun and allowed us to be ourselves, versus focusing too much on the fact we were having our pictures/video taken. We've only received the preview so far and every shot is our favorite. They managed to capture genuine emotions in the most beautiful way - of us as well as the gusts! Seeing the photos brings to life the day in such a vivid way. We cannot say enough good things about the entire team at Derks Works and will be forever appreciative of their partnership, attitude and unmatchable talent.

tobooth for our wedding guests. I love the way these two are so genuine in wanting to know their clients. You truly feel heard, cared for, appreciated and celebrated! We loved our experience of taking engagement photos, the way that Benjamin made this such a laid-back, casual experience while taking high-class photos blows me away. We proudly have these photos on display in our homes and with friends and family. Now, the photobooth- this was truly an experience of it's own! Our wedding guests continue to rave about this fun experience months later. We appreciate the way that Derk's Works engaged our guests, captured the emotion and provided custom props, and a quick turn-around with photos. It was amazing- guests were posting their photo-booth photos on social media just days later!
