Derrick is amazing!! We hired Derrick for our wedding photography and it was one of the best decisions we made. He is so professional, makes every situation fun and comfortable and he also takes AMAZING photos. We chatted with Derrick a bunch before the wedding and he also took our engagement photos, so by the time our wedding came around it felt like we had hired a good friend to take our pictures! I could not recommend Derrick enough and I am so excited for him to keep capturing our big life events.

He is extremely personable, very easy going, and so easy to talk to about your vision! For our engagement pictures he suggested a few locations that he personally knows and loves to take pictures at which was great because we had no idea where to go. For our wedding he had a very easy set up to tell him what we did and did not want pictures of. He also mentioned how he would make sure to work around any family “drama”— (example: wouldn’t make divorced parents take awkward pictures together). During the wedding he blended in so well I don’t even remember seeing him but let me tell you, he captured everything! A few days after my wedding my grandfather unexpectedly passed away a few so I reached out to Derrick to see if he got any photos that we could use for the funeral, and within a couple hours he was able to edit and send them over to me. Words cannot even describe how much that meant to me and my family. Even getting your pictures back is the easiest thing ever! He just sends you a link and there they all are. No need to leave your house or have a video chat to review them or anything. They took about 8 weeks to get back but trust me they were SO worth the wait. Long story short, Derrick is definitely the guy you want to capture your special day!! (And more - we even used him a third time for our Christmas pictures just a couple months ago!)

Derrick is the greatest! We had a wedding of 150 people & a large bridal party and Derrick didn't miss a thing. He photographed the wedding himself without a helper and he covered every aspect of the wedding perfectly. Going thru the wedding collection was incredible because we got to relive the whole day over again just by the photographs. We did not have a videographer and with the photographs Derrick provided I don't feel like we missed out on anything. I am not big on being the center of attention and while the girls were getting ready, Derrick almost made himself invisible and let us all do our thing without skipping a beat. The photographs he got "candidly" were very classy and beautiful. Derrick has such an eye for incredible settings, scenes and makes everything look so natural. I felt like a model on the front of a magazine cover (which I've never felt like before!) when I saw our photos. I truly cannot say enough about Derrick, himself as a person and about his work and the quality level. If you can hire Derrick for your photographer, do it! You definitely won't go wrong. My wife and I, like many others planning on getting married in 2020, had all of our plans thrown up in the air due to Covid. With the added stresses of rescheduling, losing vendors, and not even knowing if we would be able to have our big wedding, Derrick was one of the only vendors that we didn't have to stress over. He was there to help with everything he could every step of the way and seamlessly transferred our booking date to our backup Covid date. On the actual day of the wedding, he worked magic. He knew the grounds of the venue and was able to scout ahead and find all of the best spots for us and he was able to capture all of the moments we requested (there were a lot) and many more that we would have never even thought of. He is truly a titan in his field and your search should stop here. Our pictures came out flawless. His calm composure really helped put us at ease as my wife and I were each getting pulled in a million different directions on the actual day and if we ever had to marry each other for a third time, Derrick would be our first vendor that we locked down.

We were lucky enough to have Derrick photograph our wedding, and I can honestly say it was the best decision we made in the entire wedding planning process. Derrick did both our engagement shoot as well as our wedding photos, and both sets came out beautifully. For our engagement shoot, we did not have a clear idea of exactly what we wanted. We hopped on a phone call with Derrick, and after just a few minutes, he provided a few great location selections. We had a really fun afternoon taking pictures around the Seaport and North End, and got some amazing pictures out of it. Our wedding was up in Vermont, and Derrick was more than happy to travel up for our big day. Derrick was so easy to work with, he knew exactly what to do, and got some incredible pictures. I truly cannot say enough good things about Derrick. From his professionalism & personality to his photography skills. We hired Derrick for our wedding after we saw his photos for a friends wedding. Derrick is personable and really makes you feel like your event is important to him. He made taking pictures on our wedding day a breeze and one of the least stressful parts… which can be one of the most nerve wracking parts! He captures what you want and is talented with his work. Working with Derrick was truly such an enjoyable experience! From our initial consultation, to his day of execution, and of course the final product my husband and I were beyond happy. Derrick was so professional and personable! Multiple members of our bridal party as well as guests made mention of the positive presence he had. It ended up raining on our wedding day and our indoor ceremony had to be moved inside. Never once did Derrick make us feel worried that we wouldn't be able to get the shots we wanted - in fact it was quite the opposite and we fully trusted him throughout the day. Turns out he was 100% right and the photos ended up being more than we could have ever dreamed of - we have pictures with a rainbow as our backdrop! We absolutely recommend Derrick for any and all photo needs and cannot wait to use him again in the future.

Derrick was referred to us some friends who had used him for their wedding. Our day was a small barefoot beach wedding with a dozen guests and a last second venue change. Derrick walked the perfect balance, where he was flexible of all our changes, yet still had every shot framed up perfectly. His turn around time on the photos was brief, and he kept up in the loop through the entire process. He was great, and I would hire him again in a heartbeat.

My husband and I were truly fortunate to be introduced to Derrick through a mutual friend. As soon as we met him in person we knew immediately that he was exactly who we were looking for to be a part of our wedding day. He was ultra prepared, responsive and had scouted out the venue (despite shooting their before too) so on our wedding day he knew exactly what spots to bring us to. We had the privilege of working with Derrick back in June, and because of his incredible talent, my husband and I are able relive our wedding every day through the amazing photos that Derrick captured. My wife and I debated throughly before choosing a wedding photographer. Derrick is the only one whose photos we both loved instantly. When we reached out to him, he was incredibly thorough and wanted to set up a phone call to get to know us and what we wanted in a photographer. As a two-bride couple, we appreciated his openness to work with us and capture our special day. Derrick is truly the best. Not only was he beyond amazing at our wedding but we have used him for all our family photography needs since because we love him and his work so much. Abby, my now Wife!, and I felt extremely lucky to have Derek as the photographer for our engagement and wedding photos. My wife is actually a professionally trained photographer so to have amazing wedding photos was her #1 priority. After seeing Derek’s work and talking to him on the phone, he immediately became the only photographer we considered. Derek brings a level of professionalism, attention to detail, and ability to keep you at ease and smiling, which is only fully appreciated when you see just how totally awesome the photos come out. My co-workers said we looked like we were straight out of a movie or magazine. THAT GOOD! Abby’s sister was also getting married later that year and after seeing our initial engagement shots, she cancelled the photographer planned and went with Derek instead...even though she would actually be spending a little more. THAT GOOD! We did our engagement photos throughout Boston and he mapped out nooks in Beacon Hill and during a beautiful sunset on the docs, looking out onto the water. Not only were the shots incredible, but we actually had a blast exploring Boston for a day with Derek. He was so good at directing the posing in creative ways while keeping the experience natural and fun. He’s really easy to talk to and definitely has a sense of humor which made us feel even more comfortable when posing! For the wedding, he actually came a day early to scope out the beach ceremony venue at the time of the wedding so he knew exactly what to expect. Everyone who met him at our wedding loved him. He captured really amazing moments with our families ! This past weekend, Abby and I went to visit my grandmother who could not make it to the wedding. It felt really nice to show her so many moments from that special day so beautifully captured. We framed one of the 8x10 prints on the wall of family photos and are proud to say ours looked the best :)The photos somehow make the memory of that day better and better each time we look back. Derrick was our wedding photographer. My husband and I got married at a rustic farm in Western Massachusetts in the fall of 2016. The pictures came out absolutely stunning. He captured every detail. I just loved how all the photos came out. I mean they were perfect. All of our guests who saw some photos in our thank you cards were blown away. He was extremely professional and friendly and went over and beyond to take the perfect shot. (He even stood in water! ) he has such amazing talent and honestly worth every penny. We are so very happy we chose Derrick as our photographer for our engagement session and wedding day. Derrick photographed our engagement and our wedding. I was impressed that he dropped everything to make it to our engagement with only a couple days notice. He sent us the sneak peak pictures a couple days afterwards and when we got all our wedding pictures, he put together an unbelievable slideshow which had my wife in tears again reliving the day. Derrick is the photographer you hope to have capturing every moment on your wedding day. He was incredibly flexible with meeting before the wedding, accommodating my schedule and location. During our planning meeting he took many notes, asked about lots of details, and most importantly listened to what I was looking for. We walked around our venue with him beforehand since he hadn't shot there yet and it was incredible watching how his eye finds these unique spots for great photo opportunities. The day of the wedding came and it was like having a good friend around. Everyone in the bridal party and even our guests commented on how friendly he was, attentive to what was going on, and a pleasure to have around. Derrick gave helpful direction while also allowing us to be ourselves. He made sure to tell us to take a breather when we'd had too many photos in a row and our faces were getting a little stiff. When we saw the first sneak peek picture Derrick posted on facebook, it brought tears to both me and my husband's eyes. We worked with Derrick to capture our engagement photos and our wedding day. We had been referred to him by family and already knew he took beautiful photographs, but we were completely in awe of what he was able to capture on our wedding day. Derrick has a talent for capturing beautiful moments in a completely unobtrusive way. He didn't miss a single detail, and yet I hardly remember seeing or speaking to him the entire night.
