From the reception to the after-party, she curated a soundscape that felt authentically “us.” Her instinct for reading the room is unmatched, and her range across genres—especially her house selections—took the night to another level.
As someone who is borderline obsessed with music and the ambience it can create, I can say confidently that she exceeded every expectation. My husband and I have a big variety of musical tastes from country, rock n roll, present day bangers, etc and we could not have asked for a better selection on his part in making the night one to remember! Another worry of ours was that we just wanted everyone to be on the dance floor at all times. g. What a difference it was compared to other DJs we interviewed. Their consults with us went much deeper than just finding out what songs we wanted to hear. They got to know us more so than any other vendor, worked to understand our vibe, our guests, and decipher our tastes in music. Dave and Drea are great listeners and communicators, it was clear that they cared, and we feel confident trusting them. For the dance we wanted "straight dancing bangers" and he delivered, multiple complex remixes of songs we loved, we actually never left the dancefloor the whole night once the dancing started and the (huge) dancefloor was full the whole time.

Music was one of the most important parts of our wedding for us and before we knew about Dave, we met with a couple of other DJs during our search, and they quite frankly left a lot to be desired. I was feeling pretty hopeless, but then in walks Dave Strickler with Desert House Productions. After one conversation with Dave, we knew that we wanted to work with him, and that we would be in good hands. We just didn't know exactly how good of hands we'd be in-- Dave left us absolutely speechless. He knows music so well. He was able to get a feel for our tastes and run with it, and he nailed it. On top of managing all of the logistics so seamlessly, Dave is a true artist and created the perfect vibes for our entire day. From our ceremony into our cocktail hour, through dinner and straight into one of the best dance parties we've ever had. Dave's expertise fed into the emotions of the day, and largely to this being one of the best days we've ever had. And not only is he an incredible artist, he is also an awesome person. We left our experience not only feeling like we had found a master of the art, but also like we had found a new friend in Arizona. We can't recommend Desert House Productions highly enough.

t’s so important to get someone to keep up the energy of your wedding, not be cheesy, keep everything on time and say everyone’s names right, etc… there are so many details the DJ is in control of that are very important! Alex and I had a call the week before the wedding to go over final details and just touchbase and I knew he totally got the vibe we wanted so I had complete confidence in him.
We hired a string quartet for our ceremony and cocktail hour to keep things more vintage and romantic and then hired Desert House for the dinner and dancing reception 5+ hours of DJ music. We wanted the dinner to start getting people more energized than cocktail hour but not too crazy and since it was a 2 hour dinner we didn’t want people getting sleepy. Alex nailed it! Every song was fun and better than the next so by the end of dinner, everyone was ready to dance!
When we all went into the ballroom for dancing, he asked everyone to get onto the dance floor for a group picture (my request) and after the photo he played “Yeah” by Usher and everyone was SO excited! After that, the dance floor was never empty. I may be biased since it was my own wedding, but I don’t think I’ve been to a wedding where the music was better or where more people danced the entire night. Alex made it feel like a club which is what we wanted, a big party! Everyone has talked about our wedding constantly after saying how much fun they had. I can’t wait to get all of our pictures in!
Thank you Alex and Desert House for giving us the best party ever and helping us celebrate our marriage with all our friends and family in the best way!!

ost a dear friend who would have been at my wedding and Dave not only rescheduled our meetings with complete graciousness, but was a beautiful collaborator to discuss how we could honor the memory of my friend during the dance party. We also had Dave and his fantastic assistant run the ceremony music and sound. Our venue was so impressed with their professionalism and the excellent sound throughout the outdoor space that they are now going to be recommending them for all future events. Many of the guests made a point to mention how great the sound was during the ceremony, dinner, and dancing. Everyone loved that they could hear every word and note. On top of it all, Dave was wonderful for my Uncle and brother in law (both professional musicians) to work with to mic their bassoon and guitar for my bridal entrance. back about what often works well and what doesn't, which we so appreciated. She did an incredible job of blending our very different musical tastes and making it a blast for everyone! She even busted out some Metallica for my metal-loving husband, and was able to download the exact version of a song from his alma mater on the fly on request - both of which are amazing memories for us! Having the best DJ was at the top of our priority list, and Drea absolutely killed it.

We had a truly wonderful experience working with Drea from Desert House Productions. From our first meeting with Drea, we felt completely at ease and knew she would do a great job....
We did not give her a ton of direction in terms of specific songs, but did our best to explain the vibe we were going for throughout different parts of the reception and she completely nailed it! She is truly a professional and can easily transition from one genre to another and read the crowd to keep everyone on the dance floor. She really kept the party going all night and we got so many compliments on the music. On the day of the wedding I remembered that there was a song I really wanted to hear and it completely slipped my mind when we did our planning session. Without Drea even knowing it, she played the song as we went up to cut our cake! I think it goes to show how well she knows her stuff and it made for such a special moment. I would recommend Desert House Productions to anyone! Thank you so much for making our day so special.
