We recently had our wedding at the Humphrey’s Half Moon Inn and we had Desert Music Entrainment who was in charge of our music. JJ Michaels was incredible! He was very responsive a...
nd helpful from the beginning. He has a lot of experience; he has a whole database that you can use to obtain songs for your wedding. He even had ideas or preselected songs for wedding traditions like Father Daughter dances, bouquet toss, etc. We all had a wonderful time dancing. He was ready to narrate the wedding if needed. We had a Day of Coordinator but were lucky to have JJ Michaels to make the announcements which made everything run smoothly. He paid a lot of attention to details including toasts and timing. We had an amazing time and were so grateful for his work and professionalism. We had so much fun dancing.
We booked Desert Entertainment for our reception music and emcee needs. DJ JJ Michaels was our emcee and DJ for the night. He was fun and professional. JJ did a great job runni...
ng the timeline for the reception, involving everybody and keeping all the names straight. Working with them before the event was straight forward. They were quick and responsive to our questions. All interactions with them prior the the event were electronic/phone. We were able to pay electronically. Once booked, JJ provided a website where could begin planning all our music for each event (first dance, father/daughter dance, etc...) as well as a list of approved music for the rest of the evening. The website also allowed us to input the everyone's names and special needs/requests. The website was very intuitive and easy to utilize. We were very happy with our choice.
JJ was incredible. He came highly recommended by our venue, The Arizona Grand Resort, and did not disappoint. We were always able to get a hold of JJ leading up to the wedding and ...
we really appreciated how responsive and flexible he was. Just 2 days before the wedding my dad and I had decided to do switch up our father daughter dance that required some blending of songs and JJ did it joyfully and perfectly!!! Us and our guests danced literally all night. JJ truly listens to what songs and type of music you want played. We love so many genres, country, hip hop, classics, and JJ put them all together PERFECTLY! He also was able to get us sparklers at a very affordable price for our exit. He also helped us do a monogram light on our dance floor which looked so classy! These were all affordable add ons that you could choose to have if you wanted and I am so glad we had the options! Highly recommend JJ because he is personable, responsive, and able to host such FUN and classy events!
We had great communication with JJ ahead of the event. He was super reassuring that between he and our wedding coordinator, everything would go as planned...and it did! JJ even hel...
ped us with pre-ceremony and ceremony music (which I didn't know wasn't provided...total lifesaver)! The day of the ceremony, DJ Vennie arrived on time and was there to announce everything, played all the right music, and even sensed when the dancing was waning. He picked a few crowd-pleasers that got people on the dance floor that hadn't danced all night! Great company to work with, talented DJs that know their stuff, and a very successful night thanks, in part, to JJ and DJ Vennie!
Cannot say enough amazing things about JJ! They made our day absolutely perfect :-).

our event. Our rock-and-roll cocktail hour was the talk of the town. We had a great time reception games and special dances. He is great with guest requests too. We had a blast and have JJ to thank.
JJ was our wedding DJ and he was so much fun! He kept everything going and everybody had a great time! He also traveled to Sedona and was very reasonably priced. He made everything...
run smoothy and we were happy that he was there for our big day!
I have some mixed feelings about Desert Music Entertainment. Throughout the research process and right up until a week or two before the wedding, all of my dealings were with JJ. H...
e was very helpful and professional. He came out to the house where the wedding was held about a month beforehand to meet with us, the caterers, and our coordinator and discuss logistics. He saved us money on a projector renting it through him instead of the company I'd found to rent it from. JJ was great and I really didn't have any worries that everything would be handled the way I wanted. At the meeting at the house, I found out that JJ himself would not be our DJ, though. About a week before the wedding, I got a phone call from Vennie who would be our DJ. He didn't really seem to have a firm grasp on the details that I'd discussed with JJ (which probably should have worried me more at the time, seeing as how the instructions I'd given JJ were very clear and even color-coded, for crying out loud), but I was busy with something else at that moment so I just shrugged it off. The day of the wedding came, and Vennie was late. Not only late, but lost. JJ had found the place without any problem when we'd had the meeting, so it seems like they didn't communicate much about our event at all. Also, Google Maps provides clear and correct directions for getting to the house, and I don't understand why he wouldn't have mapped it before leaving. None of the other vendors had any trouble finding the place. Anyway, we had been assured that the DJ would be completely set up by 4:00pm (the ceremony started at 4:30) but he was still setting up during the ceremony and cocktail hour. He even announced my husband and I as "Mr. and Mrs. (My Maiden Name)." My husband was kinda ticked about that. All of the music was correct, but we felt Vennie was very unprofessional and it left a bad taste in our mouths. I emailed JJ after the wedding and told him we were disappointed in the service Vennie had provided. JJ very kindly apologized and sent us a pair of movie tickets. I guess I'd recommend the company, but I'd definitely request a different DJ and make sure that the DJ you get has all of your information correct.
