Hi there, I'm Jenny, the designer behind Design That Flies, my boutique wedding stationery company.
Are you feeling overwhelmed with all the options out there for wedding invitations? Or do you have a certain idea in mind but cannot find the perfect invitation that fits? You have come to the right spot!
With my 8+ years of experience designing for hundreds of couples, I am here to help you navigate the often confusing waters of wedding stationery. I love helping my couples figure out what they would like and create the invitation that best fits their style and wedding day.
Whether you are looking for a contemporary design, a classic design or anything in between, I love the challenge and I promise your invitations will be unique, artful and timeless. They will be a perfect intro giving your guests the first glimpse into your wedding day and also a memento from your wedding day that you can cherish for years to come.
The design process is my favorite and I really enjoy getting to know my couples. I strive to make the process stress free, creative and fun. I offer a lot of different printing methods – foil, letterpress, thermography, laser printing and digital printing. No worries if you do not know the differences between all the methods…I will go through them in detail. I print on high quality card stock, acrylic, vellum and even wood! I have a fine art background and studied painting and I love adding illustrations and different painting elements in my designs as well.
For the wedding day and events surrounding the wedding, I also create Save The Dates, event invitations, Thank you cards, place cards, signage, programs, labels, coasters, menus…anything paper! I offer discounted custom packages if you would like me to design more than one item. As far as pricing in general, I do not post the pricing because it varies depending on what each client needs. There are lots of options and I work with a variety of budgets.

Jenny created a timeline of deadlines for our wedding, and she made sure that everything was done in a timely manner. She was always available either via email or phone. Jenny understood the assignment completely - she took the inspiration photos that we gave her and made a beautiful custom envelope liner, band, and designs on our details card and such. We didn't have a very clear vision of what we wanted anything to look like, but with the information we gave her she managed to come up with not one, but three wonderful invite proofs for us to choose from! After we picked our favorite she very quickly mailed out a physical proof of the invite on different types of paper along with envelopes, pocketfolds and bands for us to look through and decide what we liked best. Even after the pocketfold proofs were accidentally mailed back and took longer to get to us than originally planned, we managed to stick to the timeline and get the final invites very quickly!
The invites were hand delivered after they were complete which is such a lovely touch to her services and eases a lot of stress of waiting for them to arrive in the mail.
I cannot recommend hiring Design that Flies for all your paper needs enough!

I don’t want to comment on value as I did little to no research on prices but I think she generally priced this at market, or even below given the custom design and made to order nature of the request. Jenny also whipped these 100 invites out under a time crunch as I requested her services only a little over a month before I wanted to send them out. We wanted a ghosted image of a King Protea on the invitation with the printing done in thermography. We were told that was not possible. We also wanted a shimmer paper and we were told thermography could not be done on that type of paper. We also wanted our accommodations and RSVP cards to be placed in a back pocket of the invitation.
