DesignLight made my summer wedding vision come to life. From the minute I contacted them they hopped on many calls and jumped on email chains to help me realize the look I wanted to achieve, answer my many questions and worked with my budget. They turned the outdoor tent at Granite Links into a total dream with drapery and gold light fixtures. Between the twinkle lights that are there and the Boston skyline backdrop their additions made the night magical. I can’t thank them enough for all the did and for how responsive, professional and collaborative they were along the way. Would recommend!

DesignLight did a spectacular job with our wedding lighting. Throughout the entire process, they were very polite and professional to work with. The final lighting design truly helped capture the magic of our special day from ceremony to reception. DesignLight has my highest recommendation and most gracious thanks.

We hired DesignLight for our outdoor tented wedding, and we were very happy with the result. Lighting is not the first thing you or guests remark on at a wedding (unless something is off!), and the whole night, nothing was off. We had beautiful string lights that added to the ambiance of the tent, as well as lights that illuminated the path to the parking lot and the restrooms. DesignLight did a great job contributing to the elegant yet understated look we were going for. We worked with a full-service planner so we did not liaison much with the folks at DesignLight, but they seem like very pleasant people. Would recommend you hire this company for your wedding!

DesignLight did an amazing job setting up our tent for my son's wedding in July. They transformed a plain white tent in to an amazing wedding venue. They were flexible and professional despite some last minute changes we had to make. We could not have asked for a better experience or a more beautiful event.

Design Light Co did an extraordinary job with lighting for our wedding at the BPL. Due to the BPL being a public library, we were unable to start setting up for the wedding until after 5PM when the library closed - thus, our ceremony was not until 7PM (for an October wedding where the sun set at 630ish!). Even though the sky was dark, Design Light knew exactly how to light up the courtyard for the ceremony. We were equally as impressed with their work in the Guastavino room and Abbey room for dinner and dancing following the ceremony. We would absolutely recommend working with Design Light Co for your Boston area wedding!

WOW. We loved DesignLight. From the beginning they were so easy to work with. They listened to everything I was hoping for in terms of lighting and created a plan based on our budget. The lighting was even more gorgeous in person and helped to create exactly the feel we were going for. We could not have been happier.

Our band was going to do our lighting, but they decided to drop that service from their company. They offered to still do our wedding or pass us onto their friends at DesignLight - I am so happy we chose DL to do our lighting!! We got married in a large atrium of a museum, the space was large with high ceilings and 'odd' geometry. DL made the space look absolutely breathtaking. They were also such a pleasure to work with! Very responsive, helped us with all of our questions, and made great suggestions!! They even helped us design a custom monogram to be projected onto the dance floor (we got many compliments). Our venue also said they had a great time working with DL - so that is very good. At the end of the day, if you want beautiful lighting and an easy design process ... pick DesignLight!!

We used DesignLight for our wedding as our venue is contracted with them. We worked with Sandy who was so sweet and helpful, and with her guidance we chose to do bistro lighting in our reception room with string lighting in our tent for dancing. Overall our lighting was fantastic and I am so glad that I chose to add additional lighting - it really brought the whole vibe together for our event. The only reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because just a day before my wedding, the owner of DesignLight called to notify me that they needed to change my lighting plan as my venue had changed requirements. Since it was so last minute, I wasn't really able to understand what this change would look like or how I would feel about it, and had no option other than to "just go with it." Luckily, the lighting was fine despite it not being what I originally envisioned. I am glad the owner at least did call me to notify me of the change so it wasn't a total surprise the day-of, and overall DesignLight did a wonderful job for our event!

I recently hosted a party for my son and daughter in-law at the NE aquarium. The event was held in the tent on the harbor and Design Light did an amazing job with the lighting. They really transformed the place and received numerous compliments. Working with Sandy and her team throughout the process was a joy. They were both creative and attentive and I knew it would turn out great!! I would certainly recommend Design Light to anyone who needs an expert on lighting!! Thank you Sandy!!

DesignLight completely transformed our wedding into a beautiful, bright space! Sandy was incredibly helpful and professional, helping us think outside the box to create a truly beautiful wedding reception, including hanging 3 big 6' "ring of lights" from the tall ceilings of our venue, and mini lanterns and draping in the dancing area. They helped make our wedding ambiance special, unique, and over-the-top gorgeous!!! They also coordinated with our florist, venue and caterer to ensure seamless setup. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

DesignLight is a great company to work with for weddings! They provided and installed bistro lights at our Popponesset Inn wedding in August 2021 and they were just beautiful! We are especially grateful for them since they helped us and our florist figure out how to rig our hanging floral installation just weeks before the wedding. Highly recommend!

From our first phone call with Sandy we knew we were in good hands. Lighting was a top priority for us, as corny as it sounds I wanted our guests to feel the way I feel when I go home my husband: warm and relaxed. I sent Sandy some inspiration photos and she brought our vision to life. Her team's professionalism, promptness, and immedicable attention to detail are incomparable. DesignLight enhanced The Harvard Club's hall with warm amber lights for our fall wedding, perfectly coordinating the look in the historic room. They illuminated our centerpieces, enhancing their beauty, and when the dancing portion of the evening began, the up lighting color changed adding energy all night long. The lighting was exactly what we dreamed of and the perfect touch to this architecturally stunning room for our special day. Highly recommend!

Great lighting vendor if you’re looking for soft amber lighting. It gave our venue that warm, romantic feeling. String lights were lovely and softened our event space, but you may need to pay extra to reserve your event space a few hours early to accommodate an early instillation. It was totally worth it though because the lighting looked amazing!

DesignLight was amazing to work with! Originally we booked them to put up bistro lights at our first venue in 2020. However, due to covid we had to rebook our 2021 venue at a new space just 50 days before the wedding. DesignLight was super quick at coming up with suggestions and lighting needs for our new tent. They installed lanterns lighting the pathway to our tent and had absolutely gorgeous chandeliers that tied our whole vibe together. They were the easiest vendor to work with!

DesignLight was fabulous! We sent Sandy some inspiration photos and she helped bring our vision to life. Lighting was something we were on the fence about, but it absolutely made our space that much more special and we are SO glad we did it. We used DesignLight for our wedding at Misselwood and it looked incredible! Working with them was super easy. We were able to split the cost for the lighting and drapery with the other weddings on the same weekend which cut our cost quite a bit. They set up the lighting the morning before the wedding and was ready to go for our day. It looked beautiful and added so much elegance to the tent. Misselwood exclusively works with DesignLight, so they are pros at making their tent look gorgeous! Highly recommend!

Design Light provided the most beautiful bistro lights and Disco Balls for my daughter's wedding in a beautiful tent on Cape Cod. The disco ball became the wedding theme; and DesignLight gave us more than we ever could have dreamed of. The staff installing the lighting were professional and friendly, as were everyone I spoke with during the planning. Thank you DesignLight; I will always remember dancing under those beautiful lights and the turning Disco Balls!

If you want to make a tent look beautiful, you need to contact Design Light! Sandy was beyond helpful with the entire process, sending me plenty of pictures for ideas, and getting back to me quickly when I had so many questions. She was so easy to work with, and very understanding when I couldn't make a decision right away. She was so nice, that she even let me know, that the bride the night before our wedding was using Design Light and picked the same design I finally decided on and provided us both with a discount! The tent we had our reception in looked absolutely beautiful thanks in part to Design Light! Thank you again!

DesignLight is great to work with and their work is top notch. During the planning process, Sandy helped us figure out a lighting plan that checked all our boxes yet stayed within our budget. She even gave us some DIY tips for a few accents that we wanted, but couldn’t afford to do through DesignLight. What’s more, when COVID forced us to push our wedding back a few months, DesignLight shifted to our new date without batting an eye. They also proactively modified our lighting plan to reflect our new much smaller guest count, which saved us a lot of money. When the big day arrived, the installers from DesignLight were professional, courteous, and did a great job of setting up while making accommodations for the other vendors that were working around the tent. Overall, we couldn’t be happier.

Planning in a pandemic is stressful and working with Sandy was so easy and stress free! I choose to work with Sandy because she came highly recommend from both Granite Links and Flou-er. Sandy was super helpful with helping me find romantic details that I loved with our first venue and helped me envision what the pavilion tent would look like with each option. And when I walked into the Pavilion tent I was in amazement because the room was perfect!!! Thank you Sandy and team for everything and making our day perfect!!

Wow, the chandeliers that I rented from Design Light Co were the perfect touch to bring my vision to reality. They elevated the ceremony and reception space and tied together my aesthetic. Sandy and the Design Light team were spectacular!! They so flawlessly executed our vision for our wedding in October 2019 at the Fairmont Copley Plaza Grand Ballroom!! They made the most subtly perfect touches to an already ornate room, and it was truly magnificent, they made the room sparkle, and it felt like an absolute fairytale!! We planned a sunset roof top proposal with Sandy at Design Light and her team. From the initial contact and throughout the process, they were responsive, professional, and fun to work with. On the day of the event there were high winds resulting in a last minute design change. We put our heads together to reconfigure and the result was even better than the original!

We could not be happier with DesignLight. I had pretty specific requests because I knew how important the lighting was for our venue and they nailed it!! It was EXACTLY what I had envisioned! I worked with DesignLight to create a custom wood panel, Edison bulb chandelier to hang over the dance floor and I could not be happier with the way it came out. They were also willing to help us hang a swing (yes, a swing) in our venue that we used as a photo station. Would highly recommend them!

DesignLight was PHENOMENAL. They were professional and efficient. They traveled all the way to Hanover, NH to put up romantic material and large chandeliers for our wedding. They also put soft lighting on each one of our food stations during cocktail hour and reception. The whole evening went off perfectly and it all started off with a perfect environment which they created. The whole team was lovely and we highly recommend them for any event!

DesignLight was so efficient, that I never even met them. They had our bistro lights up and over the courtyard of the Boston Public Library before I even arrived. The lights lent a real romantic feel to the whole venue. The guests were enchanted. Thanks DesignLight for doing such a wonderful job!

DesignLight was amazing to work with for our June 2019 wedding at the State Room! When we first contacted the DesignLight team, we didn't know anything about the different lighting options, what was a "must have" versus a "nice to have", etc. I knew from the start that I wanted bistro lights strung across the room at the reception, but beyond that it was actually quite overwhelming trying to decipher the different options and determine what was most important in creating the look and feel that we wanted at the State Room. Sandy was super helpful walking us through all of the various options, and she really understood our vision for what we wanted the room to look like. We ended up doing the bistro lights and uplighting around the room, and the finished product was STUNNING. The way the uplights changed colors throughout the night was awesome - it wasn't distracting at all but helped keep the feel of the room exciting and fresh throughout the entire reception. The bistro lights were everything I could have hoped for. The State Room has very high ceilings and we didn't want it to feel cavernous - the bistro lights were amazing in helping the room feel cozy and warm (and they look unbelievable in all of our photos from the night!). I would highly recommend the DesignLight team!

I highly recommend Design Light for your next event. Sandy is absolutely amazing. When I walked into the tent at my daughters recent wedding at Elm Bank I cried. It was incredible to see our vision become a reality. Sandy is fantastic to work with and she made our dreams come true. Sandy offered suggestions to illuminate the large tent taking into consideration the placement and dark colors of the flowers. She worked tirelessly guiding us and quoting our revisions. Design Light did an amazing job at my wedding on June 30th 2018. It was hard for me to envision what lighting I wanted in the reception room on my wedding day, but they were very patient with me. I'm sure they could have handled it on their own, but knew I wanted to be involved, so they went through every color and blend they had so that I could pick my favorite. They lighting set the ambiance and mood of the room that made it look so magical. I had someone come up to me after my wedding saying that my lighting was incredible. Design Light was extremely accommodating and made the room look even more beautiful then it already looks. I wouldn't pick any other vendor for the job!

Sandy Mulrey and Design Light did awesome work to make our daughter’s wedding truly special. They were innovative in ideas and responsive to our taste and budget. Our daughter's wedding was held at a unique venue, the JFK Presidential Library and Museum in Boston. While the Pavilion space itself is breathtaking (where the ceremony and cocktail hour were held), the Smith Ballroom (where dinner and dancing were held) is frequently used for educational purposes (lectures, corporate functions). We knew we needed an experienced, highly creative team to help us transform the ballroom into the elegant, black tie, event space we were seeking. DesignLight outdid themselves. Sandy was a pleasure to work with and met with us several times to hear our vision and talk through the options. From the draperies, to the 7 chandeliers, to the up lighting (which changed from amber during dinner to a variety of complimentary colors when dancing started), to the spot lighting, to the chupah lighting and the initials which were projected until the "I do's" and then changed to the bride and groom's monogram, to the lanterns that lined the stairway down which the bride and groom descended, each element was carefully planned and executed. I would highly recommend DesignLight whether you need expert lighting services only or you are starting with more of a blank canvas and need design strategy along with execution. You won't be disappointed!

I was lucky enough that they had worked with my venue countless times before so they knew the space very well. We hired Design Light for our wedding at New England Aquarium last month. NEAQ's tent situation is particularly challenging to work with, but Sandy and the team were phenomenal!
