About this vendor
The love of freshly baked cakes from my mom's kitchen set my feet on the path of baking for the pleasure of results. Energy absorbed from the ooh's and aah's of appreciation keeps me fueled, inspired and committed. My husband, family, and I have enjoyed this business and relish the continuing opportunity to make a bride happy by listening to what pleases her, then producing a cake with style and spectacular taste.

Delicious and beautiful cake! We used Dessert Designs for our wedding and had a small cake and a dessert table. Everything was so delicious and turned out perfect!
None better. Leland did my own wedding cake (11/95). I've been attending events since then where her cakes are featured. Hands down, still the best around. Don't believe me... ...
go try them.
Try the Strawberry cake as well as the caramel. Ours was a Grand Marnier; it was great. However, I eventually tried those and they blew the Grand Marnier cake away.
You won't be disappointed. Next to the wedding, the cake tasting was the best day of the whole event.
The process of going in for our cake tasting was great. Leland was very professional and the cake was all delicious. I truly think this is the best cake I've ever had. I told Lelan...
d exactly what I wanted and even emailed her pictures. I wanted all four tiers of my cake to have the horizontal "striping" around them with a Q initial on one tier. I only got the horizontal striping on 2 of my 4 tiers which made me upset, especially for how much we paid for the cake. The Q initial was supposed to have a different border than they did, also. She took a ton of notes during our consultation, so I'm not sure how this happened. The wedding cake still tasted delicious!
The most incredible, delicious wedding cake we could have hoped for! Alternated layers of vanilla bean cake with caramel frosting, and the Firefly cake. So many compliments on how ...
yummy it was, and hardly any leftover! Leland is easy to work with, accommodating and extremely talented. 10/10 recommend - worth every dollar!
Leland at Dessert Designs is a confectionary genius! My sister got her cake through Leland more than 7 years ago, and I had multiple people reach out to me during my engagement pro...
cess to ask if I planned to have "that amazing cake" at my wedding too. We of course knew working with them again was a no-brainer, and we had a beautiful 5-tiered cake featuring the Hallelujah cake (sour cream pound cake with chocolate truffle ribbon) and the Vanilla Bean with caramel ribbon on alternating layers. Two days later (and more slices for myself than I dare admit), I've already received calls and texts from guests saying it was the best cake they'd ever had - I couldn't agree more! Highly recommend Dessert Designs for all brides!
Dessert Design's gluten free chocolate truffle cake was one of the highlights of our wedding. I'm serious! I'm jealous of a cake :-) And they're super nice and efficient, too, mor...
e than any of the other cake makers we were in touch with. Sadly we don't live in Nashville, but it would be worth moving there just to be closer to Dessert Designs (every weekend, ideally). Thank you a million for your amazing work, it really made our day <3
Beautiful & tasty cakes. Leland is an extremely talented baker & very easy to work with. Fast response to email inquries.
we did not want to spend money on a cake that didn't taste good, and we were not disappointed. we had so many people compliment us on the cake! we can't wait to eat what we saved ...
on our 1 year anniversary!
Trust me...I could write pages about DD! My father stated, "This was the best wedding cake that I have ever had." And I could not agree more. They had the most fantastic tasting.....
.and we did not need to taste anywhere else! YOU need to expereince this!
Amazing through and through - the people and the cakes.
My wedding cake was beautiful and absolutely delicious. The cake was complimented by all of the guests, and the owners of dessert designs are delightful to work with.
Excellent company, great cake, couldn't have asked for more! I had the hydrangea cake :)
I have worked with Juanita and her staff before as a wedding planner and didn't hesitate to use her for my own. We decided on a small 2 tier cake and a lot of desserts. Everything ...
was amazing. The desserts and cake were devoured by guests. The best cake I have ever tasted by far and I have had many cakes by being a planner. I will recommend Dulce everytime.
Leeland did a fabulous job creating the exact cake as I imagined it. We were even emailing the week before the wedding with last minute changes and she made them all happen effort...
lessly. It was so beautiful and tasted as great as it looked!
She even custom made a Krispy Kreme doughnut tower for the groom's cake with a replica of his policeman's badge.
Leland is awesome, the cake testing was delicious, and my cake on my day was even better!!
Our cake was exactly what we asked for! The vendor was easy to get in touch with and really easy to work with - from tasting to the day of our wedding. We chose a cake with both th...
e Kaluah Chocolate Chip and Devils Food Cake in each layer - everyone LOVED it. We had given them pictures and they were able to make it look perfect. I'll be using them for other cakes in the future, for sure.
Everyone knows they make the best cakes in town. Especially the chocolate truffle with another layer of sour cream cake.
Both of our cakes (bride's and groom's) were created by Dessert Designs. They looked better than I even thought they would and tasted devine! I can't wait for our 1 year annivers...
