We got our wedding cake here and it was great! Ashley was very responsive and attentive, and so easy to work with. We live out of state but I grew up around their old location so remembered it from childhood special celebrations. They worked with our limited in-person schedule really well. It was also more affordable than other bakeries in the Boston area. Delivery and set up was only $50 which seemed very reasonable. Pricing was always transparent. The cake came out exactly as discussed and we and our guests loved it. We went with two flavors: Boston Creme and Chocolate with Raspberry filling. Both were delicious and we couldn't pick a favorite. And the mini honeymoon cake was adorable. Thank you so much!

When I saw our wedding cake in person for the first time, my jaw actually dropped! Absolutely stunning and beyond my wildest dreams. Dessert Works went above and beyond to make a gorgeous design that matched our wedding invitations! It was a work of art, and it tasted great, too! Our guests loved it. We had a great time working with Ashley and the team throughout the process. And the honeymoon cake they made for us is the cutest thing I've ever seen! I didn't expect the wedding cake to be as much fun of an experience as it was. :) Highly recommend!!!

Dessert works created our perfect wedding cake! The communication was prompt & seamless from our very first inquiry. The staff were very helpful throughout the whole process and provided all of the details and information we needed to know. We were able to do a take home wedding cake tasting which was super fun and helpful in deciding the flavors! We chose chocolate cake with cookies & cream filling and vanilla cake with raspberry filling - both were delicious. The design of the cake was also exactly what we asked for. For the quality of our cake it was also reasonably priced compared to other desserts and cakes we looked into. W would definitely recommend!

The cake slices are BIG and as a person who loves cake, this was a win. I was impressed by the quantity but most importantly flavor! For my wedding I got the strawberries and cream and the Boston cream and both were moist and not too sweet. The decoration of the cake came out as it was drawn out. The process was smooth and straight forward. I would recommend and would be back to buy cake slices too!

We are so glad we found Dessert Works for our wedding! Ashley made the planning process easy and answered all of our questions. We had a small cake for cutting but then had cupcakes for our guests and they were beautiful and delicious! We saw many people going back for seconds and taking some home! I've been described by HR professionals as "a bag of allergies," and Dessert Works not only went above and beyond with the cakes and pastries for my wedding last April, they made some of the BEST desserts I have ever had; the fudgiest possible brownies, individual Boston cream pies, the zestiest lemon bars, I'm getting hungry just thinking about it! And the cakes were GORGEOUS and delicious! Special shout out to Ashley, who was professional, patient, extremely responsive, and detail-oriented with the cakes and pastries I will absolutely be ordering from them in the future, as they are more than worth the drive from Cambridge and back.

We are grateful to Dessert Works for their loving care of our wedding cake. The Lenox Hotel was our wedding venue. They partner exclusively with Dessert Works for wedding cakes and the cake is included in the Lenox's package. But even so, the cake was an afterthought to us at first, and we opted to exclude it. Wrong idea. We finally got around to looking at Dessert Works' website and when we saw their enticing list of flavors, our mouths started watering. We followed up with the Lenox and said hey, we DO want the cake. We worked with Ashley at Dessert Works. Her warmth and kindness over emails and calls did not go unnoticed. She made it clear that our big day was special for Dessert Works too. She made the process easy as could be, from intake to the final call to confirm the guest count. We were super excited for the cake tasting. Dessert Works gives you their 6 most popular flavors to sample, with the option to add flavors for a small fee. We got 8 flavors which proved more than we needed! We couldn't do the tasting at the bakery, because we were coming from out of town and were on a tight schedule, but Dessert Works made it easy to do our tasting to-go. They packaged all the cake slices into a neat box, with containers of their American and Italian buttercreams on the side. Because neither of us had time to pick it up ourselves, Dessert Works kindly let my mother-in-law pick it up for us. She reported back that the service was great. We chose a combination of their Chocolate Mousse and Vanilla Chocolate. Both have chocolate mousse, of which I am a huge fan. The mousse is delicious, but not too rich. The cake is moist, and not overly sweet. The lightness of the vanilla cake and the density of the chocolate cake provide balance. We had an extravaganza doing a self-led cake tasting with the matron of honor - herself a chocolate lover who affirmed that the mousse was the right choice. From there, Dessert Works kept things moving without ever stressing us out. For the cake design, they sent us a photo gallery of past designs as inspiration. We quickly latched on to an elegant yet simple design of lotus branches with pretty red and pink flowers. We had a video call with Ashley and filled out a comprehensive questionnaire. And that was all we needed to do for cake planning. On the day of, our 3-tier cake exceeded our expectations. Delivery and setup were so seamless, we had no idea it was happening. We didn't think about the cake until we walked in for our reception, and there it was, sitting majestically atop a table. It was DEFINITELY more beautiful in person than in photos. We wish we had more time to admire it. And how did the cake taste that day? Delicious. I had a slice of the Chocolate Mousse to end the night, and it was the best piece of chocolate cake I've had in a long time. Oh, and that tradition of saving a slice of the cake for your anniversary? Dessert Works takes that to the next level with their "honeymoon cake," a beautifully packaged mini version of the wedding cake. It was the cherry on top. We are thrilled with what Dessert Works gave us: A terrific cake created by terrific people. It's funny, we never got to meet any of them in person, so we'll just have to stop by the bakery in Westwood on our next trip to Beantown.

We booked our wedding cake through the Lenox Hotel, and it was so easy to work with Dessert Works. I loved their “take it home” tasting kit, and we ended up going with lemon citrus. We did gold ribbons around the cake, and it was very elegant. Thank you!

We worked with Dessert Works for our wedding as a part of a package with the Lenox. Ashley was great to work with and the cake was perfect! All the flavors we tasted were delicious, and we went with the Boston cream pie flavor. We even received a mini replica of our cake for our anniversary.

Working with Jovani was nothing short of wonderful. Trying to pick through a sea of photographers was definitely a challenge but after browsing Bold As Love's beautiful past work online and speaking to Jo on the phone I knew it would be a perfect fit. Jo was responsive, friendly, and collaborative every step of the way and delivered beautiful work. Taking family portraits the day of our wedding was definitely a challenge because our wedding party and family was larger than most and people kept disappearing or chatting amongst themselves. Despite these challenges Jo and her associate were patient and composed and still managed to capture all the shots on our (very long) shot list. I really appreciated when Jo was able to get a tricky first kiss shot we requested despite warning us that it may be impossible - we really loved her dedication to giving us exactly what we asked for! Aside from professionalism and expertise, Jo was comfortable, funny, and had great shot ideas on the fly that ended up being some of our favorite photographs. DEFINITELY recommend!

Ashley and the rest of the team were so great to work with, and our cake was absolutely perfect. So many people complimented it and told us it was one of the best wedding cakes they had ever had. We picked Dessert Works from the options our venue, Blue Hill Country Club provided us, since the cake was included in our package. The cake was gorgeous and delicious. We had Dessert Works provide our cake for a 150 person wedding and it was perfect! We went with something pretty simple, but it was flawless and tasted amazing. We got a lot of comments on how good the cake was from our guests. I love that they provide a separate anniversary mini-cake as well - great touch! Due to covid we did a "virtual tasting" where we picked up samples to try at home, and honestly this was amazing - gave us the chance to try the cake at home in our sweatpants with a glass of wine. Will definitely be return customers and would recommend to any couple for their wedding cake!

Our cake was perfect! We wanted a two-tiered wedding cake with a backup sheet cake to feed all our guests plenty of cake. The lemon summer berry cake with Italian buttercream was everything a wedding cake should be: moist, delicate, and not too sweet. They reinforced our cake to hold our handmade (and heavy) cake toppers and the buttercream flowers were beautiful. Our guests with food allergies loved the chocolate "nothing" cupcakes too!

We hired Dessert Works to make our wedding cake for our June 2022 wedding, and were extremely happy with the results. After the design was settled, the final result on the day of was a stunning, scrumptious, and moist cake that exactly matched what we were looking for. They skillfully applied our florists' flowers to the cake to match the aesthetic of the rest of the wedding. It looked absolutely gorgeous. Dessert Works also gave us an extra sheet cake and a miniature cake for us to eat on our anniversary. It is these touches that make vendors like Dessert Works a joy to work with. We used Dessert Works through the package with Four Points Sheraton in Norwood, and I’m so grateful they were the bakery! We needed a fully gluten free cake, and WOW did they deliver! Our chocolate cake was truly incredible: every single guest was shocked and awed that it was gluten free and many even said it was the best wedding cake they had ever eaten. They made the whole process so easy for us, and created a beautiful design. One thing to note: the tasting was lovely but for gluten free slices, there are fewer tasting slices included. We still got plenty but just a note. Seriously if you have a gluten allergy, this is the place!

Absolute professionals! Our venue recommended working with Dessert Works, and we're so glad we did! They managed everything directly with the venue so I didn't have to think about a thing. Ashley and the DessertWorks crew were absolutley incredible to work with! After a last minute venue change, the shop was super responsive and worked with us to create the cake of our dreams! We requested a three layer wedding cake in Ripe Red Raspberry, and got a second cake in Tuxedo Torte to feed our guest count. We loved the tasting and service so much we even got cupcakes for our rehearsal dinner through Dessert Works! After looking at many south shore bakeries, we are so thankful we found this yummy bakery!

The cakes not only look amazing, but these are some of the best tasting cakes I've ever had. I was talking to my wife about how forgettable wedding cakes are when it comes to flavor a few weeks before our wedding. After our wedding, so many guests commented on how good the cake was that I was truly surprised at the amount of comments and reactions we got. We had three flavors and the actual cake was gorgeous. I can't recommend Dessert Works enough for their flexibility as well during COVID and our many date changes. Overall, this is our new favorite cake place for all occasions.

The cake flavors were SO good, and we were able to have multiple flavors for no extra cost. We were also given a smaller version of our cake, called the "honeymoon cake" that we will enjoy on our anniversary - it is so adorable, and such a unique idea. We really weren't picky about our design and they were very helpful in keeping it simple for us and the result was beautiful. The cake itself was delicious and I thought the pricing was extremely fair. We really enjoyed our at-home tasting experience during COVID and it didn't take away from it at all, we were able to decide so quickly as to what we liked, and it was all delicious. We can't wait to have our "honeymoon" cake over the next few days to relive our wedding night.

We had a great experience with Dessert Works. Their standard flavors, which all have mousse fillings, were delicious, but I chose to add the lemon summer berry to our tasting on a whim. It was phenomenal! We ended up picking that for our flavor and then worked with Ashley to complete the design. She was very helpful and responsive. The final product was beautiful and tasted just as good as the tasting slice. We got many compliments from guests. Our complementary honeymoon cake (red velvet) was also very tasty and adorable. Due to changes in COVID protocols they had two weeks to make us a larger cake with a complicated anthurium design...and they nailed it! The cake design was gorgeous and so many guests raved about how light and flavorful the cake was - highly recommend

I HIGHLY recommend Dessert Works! We have been getting cakes here for years so when we started planning our wedding we knew this is where we had to get our Wedding Cake. Kristen, Auz and the whole team were amazing! They provided take home slices for the trial and it was so hard to choose! Every flavor was delicious. Last minute we needed to change our 3 tier cake to cupcakes and they completely accommodated us without any hesitation. The cupcakes were beautiful and they even added a little candy bee last minute for us. We can’t wait to work with them again for our larger reception.

We got a small cake and cupcake tower for our wedding and everything was delicious! They captured our colors perfectly and we were so pleased with how it turned out.

My husband and I had to postpone our wedding twice due to COVID. Dessert Works was extremely accommodating with all the changes we had to make. They also put together a fantastic cutting cake and cupcake display for the mini-ceremony we chose to have this year. We ordered our wedding cake/cupcakes from Dessert Works, and everything was absolutely wonderful. We live locally and have enjoyed their desserts before, so we didn't feel it was necessary to have any sort of tasting. Flavor selections were limited due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but we didn't feel like it was a big deal. I was able to place the entire order remotely via email/phone. I sent them a photo of a cake I found online, and they were able to replicate the style exactly. We ordered a small cake to cut at the wedding, a few dozen cupcakes, and rented a cupcake stand. Dessert Works delivered the items and set them up on the day of the wedding. Everything was absolutely gorgeous and most importantly DELICIOUS! We received tons of compliments. I highly recommend them to anyone! There are of course fees and charges for all the various aspects of the order, but the end result is fabulous and totally worth it.

Best cake ever! My guests are still talking about the Italian buttercream frosting. There were a lot of hiccups given my wedding is during this pandemic. I even had to change venues 5 days before my wedding day. She was supportive and open to every change with complete patience. She even halved the delivery fee because my venue switched to a neighboring state last minute. She is amazing at what she does! We wish we could be eating some of our cake right now!

Dessert Works made our wedding cake for our wedding at The Fairmont Copley Plaza in June 2019, and we cannot recommend them highly enough! We had our cake tasting in February 2019, and it was easily our favorite part of the wedding planning process! Not only is the cake delicious, but they let you take all of the samples home with you! Our cake was incredibly elegant (and tasty!). When we called to add an extra layer a few weeks before the wedding, it was not a problem.

One of the best parts of the wedding, besides marrying your best friend, is getting to eat cake! Leading up to the wedding, we counted the days until we were able to go for the cake tasting. Thankfully we chose Dessert Works. Their team of dedicated and passionate employees made us feel at home, and comfortable. The end result was a brilliant mix of love and talent with a tiered cake that matched the dream we had when we first walked into their shop. This was hands-down the best cake I have ever had and the most beautiful. The cake was my favorite part of my wedding because they were able to create my vision perfectly and it really was a stunning masterpiece. My husband and I plan to go back to them for all future cakes.

We ordered our October 2019 wedding cake from Dessert Works. The cake appeared beautiful and looked the way we wanted. The taste was a different story. We ordered the strawberries and cream with American buttercream frosting. The frosting had next to no flavor and tasted nothing like it did at our cake tasting months prior. We were highly disappointed and wish that we had chosen another bakery for our special day.

We chose Dessert Works to bake our wedding cake after an online search. Their website showed a vast array of gorgeous cakes and offered endless options of flavor combinations and decoration. We then met with Jacqueline for a beautifully arranged tasting and selected a mini 3-tier - vanilla layers with chocolate mousse filling and Italian meringue icing, decorated to our specs. The cake arrived on time on our big day and met our every expectation. It was truly beautiful and absolutely delicious!

Our wedding cake was delicious and it looked amazing! Our guests enjoyed it so much that many of them asked where we got it. The cake was light with not-so-sweet frosting and delicious raspberry cream. The other flavor was boston cream pie and it was just as delicious. The process of choosing our cake was so easy from the cake tasting to designing the cake. Jacqueline understood our vision and made the design we imagined came to life. We were glad that there were extra pieces left so we ate them the day after for breakfast! It was that good!

I just got married on June 1, 2019 and Dessert Works made my cake and all of our cupcakes for our guests! Jacqueline was very professional and easy to work with and answered all of my questions immediately! I wanted a simple look for my cake and I LOVED it! We did red velvet which I'm not usually a fan of, my husband loves it, and it was SOOOO delicious! The best cake I've ever had. I'm bummed I only took a few bites of it at the wedding but we did freeze it and I can't wait to eat it on our one year anniversary! We did 4 types of cupcakes for our guests which people loved! A lot of people took cupcakes to go! We rented a cupcake stand from them and it looked great at our wedding. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

We loved Dessert Works! They were so responsive and easy to work with at all times. They did such a beautiful job. They helped me design the cake using a decoration I made to put in between layers. Every anniversary my husband and I buy a small cake like the top of the one at our wedding.

We had our wedding at the Ritz Carlton and they supplied our cake through Dessert Works. All I can say is AMAZING. I spent about five minutes on the phone explaining what I was looking for. Our caked turned out to be everything I had imagined and then some. It was such a relief to have everything go as planned after such a simple and worry-free process. We were even given a mini keepsake version of our cake displayed in a clear box. We have it in the freezer along with the top of our cake to eat at our one year anniversary :) I highly recommend Dessert Works!! We would use them again in heartbeat :)

We used Dessert Works for the groom's cake and it was not only delicious it was truly a piece of art. We had a specific idea in mind for the groom's cake that seemed to be difficult to achieve by our venue (where our wedding cake was from), but Kristen worked with us, drew up sketches to help us visualize and executed perfectly. The groom's cake theme was the Bay of Naples in Italy and was a multidimensional cake including lemons, pottery, boats, mountains, trees and volcanoes. The flavor of the cake was Italian Lemon Mascarpone, which was exactly what we wanted for this cake. The cake was quite impressive and was a great addition to our wedding. We had also ordered our engagement party cake from Dessert Works too and again it was not only beautiful, but so delicious. Kristen and everyone at Dessert Works was a pleasure to work with. We highly recommend Dessert Works and will continue to go to them for occasions in the future.

Dessert works is the best. I had another bakery booked and one of my bridesmaids knew about them and had a red velvet cake for my bridal shower and it was so delicious that I cancelled my current bakery and booked with them. If that’s not enough - I threw a birthday party for my mom a month later so I could have the cake again. It’s an addiction. So the cake is definitely delicious but on top of that I sent a Pinterest picture of a cake with all kinds of rope embellishment which they had not done before. They spent what seems like a lot of time figuring out the perfect way to master the rope look and reassured me that they could do it.... and wow were they right is all I can say. It looked better than the picture. Book dessert works before they run out of cake because I can’t stop eating it.

Dessert Works is outstanding. Their cake is rich and the designs are immaculate. Our guests have raved about how much they loved our cake! One of our favorite things about Dessert Works is the miniature cake replica that they give you on your wedding day. It is adorable & so fun to see in the freezer awaiting your first anniversary! We also love that we can always go back to this bakery for every anniversary celebration.

We absolutely LOVED our cake - the design was perfect, and everything we asked for (rolled chocolate fish on the bottom tier, bubbles on the middle, and upside-down fish hooks made to look like hearts on the top tier) - we received SO MANY compliments on our cake & the flavor was amazing. Simply amazing!! Dessert Works was amazing to work with. I met with them once, showed them 3 pictures of cakes which i liked different aspects of. And they were able to create my dream cake, everything that i wanted and even more. They called me a week before the wedding to confirm everything. And when i saw the cake on my wedding day i was amazed. It was beautiful. I didn't want to eat because it looked soooo good!

Worth it! We did cupcakes (and although there wasn't much of a variety for choices, the taste made up for it). We did a small cake that we cut with our own flavors and it was absolutely perfect! They came and set up our own platters and were able to make it look perfect!

I just wanted to take a moment to say how incredible our wedding cake was from Dessert Works in Westwood MA. Our wedding was large (200 attendees) so our cake was a beautiful 4 layer cake. The cake was so beautiful exactly matching the wedding color scheme and the exact design we requested in the planning meeting. The cake was so delicious and we choose to serve it with ice cream which complimented it well. We had so many friends and family say it was the best wedding cake they have ever had. Also, the honeymoon cake (mini cake that was a replica of our real cake) was so cute, wonderful take home to remember our wedding. Thank you Dessert Works for making our special day even better!

Our wedding cake from Dessert Works was amazing and Jacqueline was wonderful to work with. We chose the vanilla with raspberry filling and it was a huge hit. Every cake my husband tasted was delicious. I have celiac and really wanted to be able to have a piece of cake on my wedding day. Dessert works "Chocolate Nothing Cake" (gluten, dairy, and egg free) was the best cake I have ever had, gluten free or not! They made a small gf cutting cake and the large regular cake and it worked perfectly. And they gave us a complimentary anniversary cake! We can't wait to eat it! I can't recommend Dessert Works enough.

I am so glad that we used them, because it is obvious why they are one of the highest rated Wedding Cake Vendors on the Knot in the Boston-area. Prior to the tasting, the staff were extremely responsive to all emails and phone calls. Throughout the entire process, Jacqueline was extremely knowledgeable, polite and courteous. During our tasting, I showed Jacqueline a few photos of wedding cakes we liked. From a few photos, she was able to help us design a custom wedding cake that was exactly what we wanted. The attention to detail and sophistication of our cake’s design showcased their extreme talent. The cake was even more delicious than beautiful which is truly hard to believe. After trying a few cakes, we decided on a vanilla with chocolate marble was that heavenly. I was very glad to take the extras from the tasting home, and enjoy a slice of our wedding cake during our big day. One of the fabulous touches that Dessert Works included was a “honeymoon cake”, which is a mini-replicate of our wedding cake in a plastic container. The Honeymoon Cake was a real joy to eat together after we returned from our trip! From the very first email to the tasting to our Wedding Day, Jacqueline and the staff of Dessert Works were a pleasure to work with every step of the way! I highly recommend them for your wedding!

Dessert Works worked with me to capture the color, style, and floral elements of the cake with only two phone calls. The day of, I didn’t know what to expect since I haven’t seen an image beforehand. It was absolutely beautiful and better than what I’ve imagined. The sugar peonies and roses cascading down on the sides looked amazing. I got a lot of compliments on the cake itself being very light and not heavy like a typical wedding cake. I picked Strawberries and Cream and everyone enjoyed how light the cake tasted.
