DESTIHL Brewery

We had our September 2023 wedding at DESTIHL. I cannot recommend this venue enough. From day one, everyone we worked with was so helpful with answering questions and making sure we had all the information we needed to make our day perfect. The day of staff were all great and super attentive, making sure our guests had food, everything stayed clean, etc. They also made sure we (my husband and I) always had full drinks and enough to eat. Ally, who was there the day of, was awesome leading up to the wedding in terms of working with us and our vendors. She as super knowledgeable and no doubt one of the reasons everything went so smoothly. The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous- the outside ceremony space is perfect and the inside is beautiful. It gave us the intimate and cozy vibe we were hoping for. We had about 70 people total, including guests and vendors, and there was plenty of space for more if you choose. The online portal made communication and payments easy. The food was incredible (HIGHLY recommend the mac & cheese) and we got so many compliments from guests about how good it was- our friends are still talking about it! We 100% recommend this venue and cannot express how thankful we are for the excellent services they provided to make our day so special!

They were helpful every step of the way from the early stages to the day of. Destihl was easy to contact by phone or or by email as we always got a prompt response from the event team. The food and drinks at are reception were great. The venue space was impeccable. Would recommend this venue to all brides and grooms looking for a reasonably priced wedding/reception. Destihl went above and beyond our expectations and we had a beautiful reception.

DESTIHL Brewery and Beer Hall - The Barrel Room was the PERFECT reception venue for our wedding on November 4! The staff was AMAZING to work with, the food and drinks were INCREDIBLE, and the space was STUNNING! We had an overall terrific experience with Destihl! They work to make things easy for you and streamline the process. The venue is beautiful, staff is professional, and food/drinks are delicious. For planning and day of, the team was accessible and helpful. The staff kept everything running on time too throughout the night.

This was the absolute best place to get married! Anne was amazing and was ready and available to answer any questions anytime. The food was great! The service was great! We honestly could not have asked for a better experience.

If you are looking for an alternative to a hotel conference feel, I highly recommend checking out Destihl Brewery. It's located only a few minute's drive from Uptown Normal & Downtown Bloomington PLUS the location itself provides ample opportunities for gorgeous outdoor photos. Inside, you'll find a beautifully warm and intimate setting with the reception room itself lined with authentic beer barrels. If you are looking for an awesome alternative to a hotel conference room, then I would definitely visit Destihl. Highly recommend! Ernst

The venue, food, bar, and event managers (Karen and Amanda) were absolutely amazing! We enjoyed the entire planning process with DESTIHL and they made us feel comfortable and at ease for our big day. We received so many compliments on the night of our wedding and in the days after on how delicious the food was and how beautiful the entire space was. We were in constant contact with Karen in the months leading up to the wedding and she always got back to us quickly with answers to our many questions. On top of the wonderful event managers, DESTIHL’s staff on the day-of was fantastic!

Destihl met and exceeded every expectation we had. Karen and Amanda are so amazing and communicate throughout the entire process. The food was incredible. We received so many compliments that it was the “best wedding dinner” they’d ever had. Drinks were of course a big hit and so delicious. The staff at our vow renewal and reception were outstanding. So attentive and friendly. If you’re considering having your event at Destihl, let this be the nudge to book! You will not be disappointed!

Destihl was amazing! The event planners Karen and Amanda were both super helpful throughout the entire process! Anytime I needed anything they responded in a timely and super helpful way. Plus all of the employees working the event gave spectacular service too! Super happy we chose Destihl as our venue!

The venue and food were amazing! We loved the set up but was a little frustrated that the manager would not stop hovering over us all night. When people went to set up, she didn’t want them to alter the layout of the dessert table or cake barrel and got into it with the set up crew and my sister about how things would be laid out. She kept trying to add “suggestions” to our menu and drinks and kept changing our price leading up to the event which was frustrating as well. She originally told us that we’d have access to certain areas for photos later in the night because we needed to be escorted but when our photographers approached her about it, she wouldn’t let us back there to take them. She also put a time limit on our outside photos and then proceeded to lock the doors after 3:30pm and wouldn’t let us outside in the courtyard area for the rest of our family portrait. The space was gorgeous and we absolutely loved it but the manager made it difficult to enjoy the process and property. We recommend the property so much but probably wouldn’t hold another event there.

We had the most perfect wedding here. Hands down, best wedding food EVER!! All night we received compliments on the food and bar service. On top of this, this venue is beautiful with picture ops throughout the room. We were lucky enough to get a Saturday wedding date, but would do it all over again with Destihl/Amanda, even if there was only weekday availability. We looked at all venues in Bloomington-Normal and DESTIHL is superior to any other locations in the area.

DESTIHL was hands down the best wedding venue my wife and I could have asked for! We had a courtyard ceremony followed by an indoor/outdoor reception. It was absolutely fantastic. The duel space provided our guests with a plethora of activities, including giant Jenga, and outdoor bar, and more! Every single one of our guests have RAVED about our wedding, and we couldn’t agree more! From the thorough communication and planning with the staff, to customizable wedding cocktails, this venue is sure to make your special day absolutely perfect. It sure did for us!!

We got a lot of compliments on the Barrel Room as our venue. In addition to the ambiance, the service and food were also great, and the venue coordinators were very responsive to any question we had.

Our wedding reception at Destihl Brewery was an unforgettable experience for both us and our guests. Each and every detail was complete perfection, with the best part being that necessary decor was minimal. The space is already gorgeous! To add to the beauty that is the Barrel Room we had our florist lay greenery down the tables, our bridesmaids set their bouquets around the room in pre-set vases, and our DJ added white uplighting between the barrels on the wall to make the barrels pop. It was beyond perfect. We also used the newly added outdoor patio space (which is also a space for the ceremony, but we had our ceremony elsewhere). Included outside was the cutest converted bus that was able to serve cold drafts. Our guests flocked to this area for cocktail hour and continued to enjoy it as the sun went down. When it came to our menu, we chose a buffet style as we had almost the full capacity of guests (175). We included the dijon chicken and the braised short rib as our main entrees. Our guests could not stop raving about their meals and went up for seconds, and thirds. Most shared it was the best wedding meal they have ever had. Throughout the planning process and the actual weekend of our wedding, Amanda and Karen, event coordinators at Destihl, were super helpful and attentive. We are grateful for their assistance in making our wedding reception the best night of our lives!

Patti D Venue was spectacular!! The staff was awesome!! The food was delicious!! Every guest complemented the barrel room and the food and the wait staff. We could not of had a better place to celebrate our daughter and her husband marriage!! Karen and Amanda were exceptional!! We can't say enough.

The beautiful and picturesque Barrel Room was the PERFECT place for not just our reception but also our ceremony. The service was incredible and our guests were beyond satisfied. Where do I start?! AMAZING! So many things to say! The entire process from start to finish was seamless, effortless and put me at ease as I did most of the planning on my own! Amanda and Karen are the sweetest humans, and were so encouraging and supportive throughout. Super responsive and helpful. They have so many resources and vendors they already work with that they could point me towards to make our day amazing! The venue is gorgeous in itself which made choosing my decor easy. Everything comes included so we didn't have to sweat the small things. The food was amazing, so many options to choose from! The entire team on the day was stellar! So kind and helpful the entire day! They were all so on point, it was like they all do this every day in their sleep. I cannot thank them enough for everything they did to make our day so incredible. 100000/10 recommend Destihl and their team for your wedding, or any event for that matter!

The Barrel Room at the Destihl Brewery was everything and more for our special day. They were able to accommodate us after our first venue fell through. The ambience of the lighting and room make any event feel cozier and more charming. With the barrels on the walls, the large windows looking out over the pond, the Edison bulb, we did not have to overly decorate the room to give it that festive charm. The staff worked together to get the food out quickly, and were very helpful in handling our guests specific dietary restrictions and questions or requests. They were attentive and if they didn't have an answer for me or my guest, they made sure to find out. All of my guests RAVED about the food, which is not something I have even heard of in the five weddings I have coordinated. Everything tasted delicious from the appetizers to the salad to the dinner. I've never had anyone come up and tell me that the green beans were, 'so good I could have eaten a whole tray!' Even the vegetarian meal was amazing! Normally it is something that isn't usually done with a lot of heart, but the pasta dish they served tasted amazing as well! We served the stuffed peppadew peppers, chimichurri hummus, meat balls, and pretzels with cheese as apps, and bacon wrapped meatloaf, turkey, loaded mashed potatoes, and green beans for entrees. The vegetarian pasta was a tomatoe and pesto sauce over raviolis of herbed cheese (which OMG, I had a bite and I would have eaten a whole plate of it!) Karen and Amanda were great to work with through the whole process. They answered any of my questions, gave me a list to check off, helped create a timeframe for the evening, and helped me pick beers that matched what we liked. Ten out of ten would host my wedding here. I'm so glad we picked Destihl. It truly made for a great wedding with many fun memories.

It was the perfect wedding reception for us. As a couple, some of our first dates were to trivia nights held in the barrel room at Desthil so it had some nostalgia for us. But the venue is beautiful and the staff was great all night long. They even accommodated us with our last minute ceremony change off site due to personal, sensitive reasons without hassle, just complete understanding. The event manager, Karen, made everything run as smooth as possible and allowed my husband and I to enjoy our wedding day to the fullest!

DESTIHL went above and beyond for us! They handled all of our guests needs and wants with professionalism and efficiency. The Barrel Room is such an intimate and beautiful room that worked perfect for our wedding ceremony and reception. It fit our 120 guests with plenty of space for everyone to move around comfortably. Karen and Amanda were amazing to work with! They were always available to answer our many questions and responded quickly. All of our guests commented on how incredible the staff was. It was truly an amazing experience for us and we could not recommend them enough. Many thanks to DESTIHL!

My husband and I were recently married at DESTIHL Brewery and we couldn't have picked a better venue!! The ambiance of the Barrel Room in itself is something you won't get anywhere else. We loved the food and desserts and they were a big hit with our guests. The servers and bartenders were professional and pleasant, as well as the Events Coordination team who executed the transition between events in our wedding timeline flawlessly. Highly recommend!!

I highly recommend booking with DESTIHL for your wedding day. Amanda and Karen were absolutely wonderful to work with. Every question I had for them was answered immediately and in-depth, and they kept in constant communication. They absolutely won me over when we had to reschedule our day because of COVID and they made sure we knew every option possible and made rescheduling a simple/painless task. On the day of, Karen made sure that my day ran smoothly and there were no issues. The barrel room is a stunning location, the food was delicious, and the beer selection was great.

Destihl helped to make our wedding dream come true! Their staff was so incredibly wonderful to work with! The on-site coordinator Karen made the day a breeze from the moment we started working with her. No request of ours seemed to outrageous and she made sure everything we asked for came true. Their help with decor rounded out our vision and their food was phenomenal! If you are looking for a classy, fun, and beautiful environment to get married at, Destihl Brewery is the place! The people, food, and especially the beer are great! We would recommend them any day!!

The process of planning a wedding at Destihl with the event coordinators, Karen and Amanda was a breeze! They went above and beyond to make any accommodations I needed no matter how last minute they were. The entire day was super smooth and Karen was on the scene attending to any needs and did so promptly and professionally! The food was AMAZING and the talk of the night! I very highly recommend the barrel room to any bride still looking for a venue! Not only is the actual venue gorgeous, but the staff is great as well.

If you are looking for a reception site that has personality and character this is the venue for you. The barrel room is really special and so different from the boring hotel banquet rooms. They provide long wood tables and black chairs and a rolling barrel for your cake. We went with simple greenery and candles on the tables and it looked great. We had about 134 guests which was a great size for the space. Amanda and Karen were easy to work with and always answered our emails quickly. My main complaint about this venue is the food. While our selections turned out well, we were unable to try any of the main courses prior to making our decisions. We were told we could order food (at our own expense) off of the restaurant menu, but none of the food on the event menu was offered at the restaurant. I believe when you are spending thousands of dollars for a wedding reception, you should be given the opportunity to try the food on required event menu. Other venues do this so I don't understand why Destihl will not. Also, be advised that the $7,500 minimum spending requirement does not include gratuity and taxes. So the final bill will be closer to $9,500. Most venues charge gratuity and all charge tax so this is not unusual, but it's still a bit of a shock when you get the final bill.

The barrel room is so unique and a great reception space! While planning the wedding, the team at Destihl were great about answering questions in a very timely manner. They were also very great about keeping us informed about all the Covid-19 guidelines. Unfortunately during the wedding planning stage, Destihl doesn’t offer food taste testing. If we wanted to try any food before selecting our menu, we were required to go to the restaurant and order/ pay for the food on our own time. Hopefully they change that in the future since couples are paying a lot of money to have their wedding there. Overall, I loved having my wedding reception there and would do it again!

We had such a great day at Destihl celebrating our wedding! It was a beautiful setup and all of our guests had an awesome time. We had 165 guests, and it was a really good number for the size of the room. We also felt it was a very reasonable price for all that we got. I would definitely recommend booking with Destihl.

The event coordinator with Destihl, Amanda, was absolutely amazing to work with. From the booking process, to keeping us on track with our planning, to helping out the night of our wedding, she was always there to provide support. The entire staff the night of was so sweet and great to work with. They provided excellent service while also following healthy protocols to keep guests safe and healthy. I cannot recommend Destihl enough for any event or wedding.

Destihl has always had a special place in my heart, but my husband and I were blown away by how perfect it was for our wedding venue. It was the perfect mix of relaxed/elegant, and we had so much fun. Our reception was in the barrel room, which is beautiful and full of character on its own. We appreciated that the food options were very similar to Destihl's restaurant/brewery menus and made with the same care and attention to detail. As craft beer lovers, we were really excited to have a large selection of Destihl’s own beer for guests, but also wine and spirit options as well. We received compliments all night about how unique and delicious the food and drinks were. By far my favorite part of our wedding at Destihl was the staff. They approached our wedding with so much professionalism and hospitality. Amanda, the event manager, was organized and on top of everything. She was incredibly responsive and even reached out at certain time points to check-in and make sure all my questions were answered. Destihl uses an online portal to track everything, which was extremely helpful during planning with all the wedding logistics and vendors. Everyone was so attentive and helpful, which made for a great experience. I feel very lucky to have had our wedding here.
