managers were very organized and very responsive to any of our questions or concerns. We had a bit of a concern with one of the dishes we picked during tasting and they really worked with us and the chief until the dish was tweaked to our satisfaction. They were really accommodating to our special requests we had. Service during our reception was very good, staff was very professional; we got a lot of complements from our guests on maple glazed salmon dish. We went through Marriott's vendor for chair covers but to be honest I found it very hard to pick a chair cover sash color from a very small swatches book that Marriott has. I really struggled but finally ended up picking a color but then ended up going to the vendors showroom to see it in real life and I am glad I did because when I saw the whole sash the color was not what I thought it would be from that little swatch. I picked another color while I was there which was beautiful rose gold color. I wish I just went there from the very beginning it would save me so much time and doubts. A complementary room with a little appreciation surprise was a very nice touch. Our wedding was 100 people and the room size was just perfect for us with a very good size dance floor in the middle. We had absolutely no regrets having our wedding at Marriott Detroit Livonia and would recommend this venue to others that are looking for something more affordable but yet with nice setting and service.

e worked with event manager Lisa and she was a pleasure to work with! She always responded promptly to our questions and was very flexible and accommodating to our needs. The food was good and this venue provides almost everything you could need, which made planning so easy. I highly recommend this venue.

lection. Our representative Shawna was always responsive to my questions and kept me updated every week on the status of how many rooms we had booked within our block. If you get a certain number of room bookings, the shuttle was free of charge, which is always something you want to hear when planning a wedding. When we walked into our room after the wedding, we were pleasantly surprised to find a bottle of champagne on ice and chocolate covered strawberries. That small gesture was just so nice. The rooms were also great, clean, and renovated. If your wedding is near by, we would highly recommend blocking rooms here for your out of town guests or even yourself!

to. The proximity of the mall came in handy for many of our guests (including some who had to buy last-minute nice clothing). We were concerned about walk-through traffic in the hallway between the hotel and the mall from non-guests, but it wasn't an issue at all. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable, too. It was really nice having everything in the same building. We used the conference rooms for the cocktail hour and the main ballroom for the reception. At the end of the night, we didn't need to worry about getting our guests back to their accommodations, since they were already there. We worked with Julie, who was very professional and helpful. She worked with us to help make our reception excellent and personalized. For example, we requested serving ice cream with the cake instead of their typical strawberries and not only did they provide it, but it was a huge hit with our guests. Julie also was able to recommend little touches to make our reception look its best, such as suggesting we use pipe and drape behind the head table, which really helped tie together the look of the room. And the food was positively delicious! Breakfast for guests isn't included with their room, which caused some confusion for guests who had come into town early, but the Marriott worked with us to provide a private breakfast for our guests in the ballroom the day after the reception. It was nice to have an opportunity to gather with our guests again, especially those we didn't get to see much at the reception. The pricing for the Marriott was similar to other venues in the area, and the Marriott had more amenities that made it the right choice for us. We definitely recommend the Marriott for other weddings!

started with emails back and forth with Julie about coming to see the area and discuss further about having our wedding there. We had other places that we liked but this one was just perfect. It had everything we wanted. They have a beautiful gazebo for an outdoor wedding, a big banquet room for the reception and rooms for cocktail hour. Plus the hotel for my out of town guests. It was just a great place for everything. After we decided to have our wedding there we then talked with Lisa Paige. She is AWESOME, she got back to all my questions (and trust me I had a lot) in a very professional and quick manner. She went above and beyond my expectations. The food was amazing and again everyone loved it! They also had an awesome cocktail hour. They even brought out some of the cocktail food so that the bridal party could eat something while we were all taking our pictures. There is just so much I can say about how great they were. I am so happy I picked Detroit Marriott Livonia.

She was super organized and paid attention to all the details that were so important to me on my special day. The ballroom looked exactly as I had imagined it would! I also agree with the other reviews that the food was wonderful! When we had booked our reception here, it was comforting to know that there was a chef cooking the food and items were not reheated from GFS, as some of the venues we visited admitted that they do. We also had no idea of Sweet Lorriane's stellar reputation until after we had booked either. Our guests also had an opportunity to eat there for breakfast the day after. Their buffet was great! We definitely lucked out in the food department. As for a reception venue, it met all the requirements that I had drawn up in my checklist for guest accommodations. I had a lot of friends and family coming from out of town and I additionally wanted my guests to feel free to indulge at our reception and be able to crash in a room there. We even went to Bar Louie after the reception to keep the party going! And with the mall connected, I was able to book my makeup for the big day at a salon in the spa. Guests were also able to pop in to the mall if they needed anything or just wanted to browse on their down time. This Marriott was also only a couple miles from our ceremony venue (Greenmead Historical Village), so again another convenience for us. The rooms and service of the hotel staff was phenomenal! They graciously handed out welcome bags at the front desk, the wait staff was personable at the reception, we had strawberries and champagne waiting in our suite on our wedding night and again, I can't say enough about Lisa Paige - I don't think I would have had the great, amazing day that I had without her. My deep gratitude and appreciation is beyond words. It'll be two years ago this weekend, and I can't believe I hadn't written this sooner! It's fun to look back and talk with friends and family about how wonderful that day was and how great all the people were that made that day so special for us - namely the staff at the Livonia Marriott!

met the chef who then explained the hors d'oeuvres display at the cocktail hour, which were exceptional and beautiful, and included in the package! Also, included was the cake cutting and serving and a coffee bar, which I have seen cost extra at many other vendors. Lisa, the event coordinator was easy to contact and consistently stayed in touch through the whole process so all my concerns were addressed quickly. On the big day, the ball room looked beautiful, the staff was professional and efficient and many of my guests said the food was the best food they have ever had at a wedding. My husband and I had a lot things to stress about on our wedding day, but the Livonia Marriott was not one of them. The exact reception I had planned in my head came true at the Marriott.

ngs!!! The hotel was wonderful and so accommodating for early check in for our families!! We also took advantage of the shuttle service from our venue ( St. Marys Cultural Center) back to the Marriott at night! Such a comfort to know everyone could party safely and return to a destination for the night!!! Thank you so much to the Marriott for helping to make our accommodations for the wedding so special!!!

service. Her professionalism and attention to detail helped make my wedding a zero stress success. She answered every last one of my questions with quickness and accuracy and I asked her a lot of questions. The day of the wedding the hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating not only with me but with my guests as well. My guests informed me that the food at the reception was some of the best food they have had at a wedding. I would definitely recommend this Marriott to anyone looking for a wedding venue. I was immensely impressed and pleased.

ome trouble with our guests getting different prices when booking online vs. booking over the phone. Once we called the Marriott, they fixed the issue and gave all our guests the lower rate. They provided a shuttle service, which was convenient for the guests to and from the hall. Our shuttle driver was looking for her gratuity from the bride after her last run!! Which was given to the hotel already... she was kinda rude. But oh well, it was worth the shuttle service and the hotel was super clean and accommodating for our guests. They had a great stay.

Lorraine's was nice, and we went with the package that included breakfast there. Having the mall attached and the Bar Louie next door was a huge advantage. Our only issue with the Marriott was that by the time people started booking rooms, they were pretty much out of 2 double bed rooms, which wasn't a huge issue for us but might have been if we had more families with kids coming. My wife and I stayed in the bridal suite and it was huge! They also decorated it and gave us food during the reception so it was a nice surprise when we got back. We did not end up using the conference rooms at the hotel, so I can't comment on those, but we had a wedding of 350 people, and they didn't have any ballrooms that could accomodate us. The desk staff were helpful in handing out welcome bags.
