We hired Dee Brown and the Diamond Empire Band for our wedding on October 5th in Telluride. While the band played a good reception and followed our setlist, their operational execution was terrible, causing significant stress and disappointment. They may play good music, but they lack reliability, communication, and client empathy. If you want a stress-free wedding, I strongly recommend against hiring them.

Failure to Use Provided Lodging:
We paid for two nights of lodging (Friday and Saturday) so the band could arrive early. Despite receiving the hotel confirmation on July 31st, they didn’t use the Friday night reservation, wasting approximately $500. They had booked another gig the night before and never communicated the change to both the hotel or the day of timeline, which would have allowed us to cancel the reservation and avoid unnecessary costs.
Late Arrival and Setup Failures:
The band was scheduled to arrive by 2:00 pm for setup and soundcheck (shared in advance via our timeline), which included providing a keyboard and acoustic guitar for our friends performing our ceremony music. They arrived at 4:35 pm—just 25 minutes before the ceremony—leaving no time for a soundcheck or rehearsal. Worse, the keyboard they brought had a broken pedal, and they FORGOT the acoustic guitar.
This delayed our ceremony and cut into our $20K venue time, causing immense stress for us, our planner, and our friends. Our planner, in tears, told us just 10 minutes before the ceremony that it couldn’t be executed as intended. Imagine hearing that right before the biggest moment of your life.
Lack of Professionalism Post-Event:
Dee Brown, who planned the event with us, never apologized. We reached out a week later to thank them for the reception but also requested a partial refund for the ceremony issues. Dee ignored our messages and additional outreach from our planner. Nearly nine weeks later, there’s still no response from him.
We eventually heard from Curtis Brink, the co-owner, who only offered excuses for their tardiness and the broken keyboard, dismissing the situation with “things happen.” Even our Telluride wedding planner expressed disappointment, stating in an email:
“As a planner, we try our best to prevent these issues—overcommunicating and booking early reservations. Unfortunately, I no longer feel confident recommending Diamond Empire Band to future clients.”
Final Thoughts:
While Diamond Empire Band played well, their operational mismanagement and lack of accountability were deeply disappointing. They failed to communicate, take responsibility, or show empathy. We hope they improve, but based on our experience, we cannot recommend them to others seeking a reliable wedding band.

It was a pleasure working with Dee from Diamond Empire Band and having them play music for our wedding. We highly recommend them if you’re looking for live music. Dee is an experienced, natural musician and was a delight to work with during the process. He met with us at the venue to help us figure out the size of the band and what would work in the space. The band was outstanding, we especially enjoyed the singer’s voice. Our venue had a low ceiling and the horn and drums were a little too loud sometimes. I might have asked Dee if we could turn down the volume of those instruments, but I was having too much fun dancing. I have no doubt Dee would have addressed that if I brought it up with him. The Diamond Empire Band had an easy-to-use portal for putting in event details and music choices. Highly recommend this talented, energetic band!
Diamond Empire Band was recommended to us when we were looking for a band to hire for our wedding, we hired them not hearing them play ahead of time. They were worth every dollar we spent on them. Before the wedding they were professional and organized and great at answering our questions. At our wedding they had everyone at our wedding dancing to great music and they kept the guests dancing during their breaks with tailored playlists. They played classics and current music that had all ages of guests enjoying every moment of the music at our wedding. Dee handled the whole event so that we did not have to worry about any of the music/MC during our event. Diamond Empire Band was helpful in making our wedding an epic event!

Such an incredible band - I had high hopes but they surpassed all my expectations! We had a 5 person band and it was perfect. Dee was incredibly helpful throughout the process, and they absolutely CRUSHED every song they played, including our first dance song, "Cruisin" by Smokey Robinson. I can't tell you how many people commented on the band during and after the wedding - I even have a friend looking into them for her wedding in New Mexico! Highly recommend if you're getting married in Albuquerque or Santa Fe!

DEB made our wedding! So many people told us how much fun the band was and that they had a great time. The dance floor was full the whole time, which is a combo of the awesome band and our guests being a lot of live music lovers. They played a lot of great music, and it was fun for the whole spectrum of people. My husband and I enjoyed the wedding so much, the dancing and the band being helpful with keeping us on track. Elijah was easy to work with, and helped us plan the event. Stop your search, this should be your wedding band!!
The band is comprised of excellent musicians. However, we felt they were not very flexible with the schedule and because of that only ended up playing for 2 hours of our 4 hour reception. In addition, they didn't cover the majority of our requests and played mainly standard wedding songs.
Zakk made is super easy and simple to plan and book with him! He played the guitar for the ceremony and it was just beautiful! Loved working with him! Thank you!

DEB played at my wedding last weekend. One of my fears was that people not being on the dance floor having fun. After speaking and listening to a few other bands I decided to go with them...and they DELIVERED! I am not exaggerating when I say that people were dancing ALL NIGHT. Not only is this group of musicians incredibly talented, they're kind, energetic, and make your wedding day/event feel so special. Curtis organized our day and paid attention to each and every detail. We were able to customize everything we wanted from the ceremony music, to the first dance, and what kind of music we wanted playing on our iPhone playlist when the band was on break. DEB was great! Elijah was easy to work with leading up to the big day and very thorough. The day of the band was so accommodating about whatever they wanted. They had the timing of all our music right and sounded great. They were also affordable, which was really helpful as we really wanted a live band.
Hiring DEB was my easiest decision in the wedding planning process! I scoped them out at their live showcase and instantly knew they had to be at our wedding. My husband is a musician so we had to have great talent!
They performed at our cocktail hour, dinner & reception. Keeping the dance floor full was very important to me, and they did just that. Great mix of genres, read the crowd well, and are very talented - got lots of compliments from our guests who loved dancing the night away to this band.

This band was amazing! Everyone had such a great time and raves about how awesome the band sounded. Even the venue wedding coordinator came up to me and said how impressed she was. She said that they were the best band that has ever performed at the venue so far. I highly recommend them! Also, Tevin (MC) was so great. His personality was on point and made it fun.

We used Diamond Empire Band for our wedding and were so happy with the results. We heard them do a set at the Hard Rock Cafe and knew immediately they were the band for us. We had one member play guitar during our ceremony and cocktail hour and then a 6-piece band during the reception. They were professional, reliable and very fun! The dance floor was packed until the MC had to announce the event was over!
We hired the five-piece band (singer, keyboard, drums, guitar, and bass) The Diamond Empire Band was everything we hoped for and more. We can't tell you how many compliments we received about how good the band was, also proof was how much dancing/celebrating there was on the dance floor (no alcohol at this wedding either). We heard them play at the Hard Rock Cafe earlier and new this was the one. Scheduling, payment, communication was so easy. The band was amazing, each and every member. Everything was totally great. I am so thankful that I found DEB. The guests absolutely loved the band and there were very few moments where the dance floor was not full. The setup process was a breeze and you made planning perfectly seamless. I appreciate you working with my ceremony vocalist and granting an extension on the timeline allowing me to use my first band set for cocktail hour. I have to tell you, Sarah made the band as the main vocalist. I loved how she made her way around the dance floor and grabbed people from the bar and brought them to the dance floor. She made people want to dance and people are still talking about how amazing the lead singer was. She was so high energy and talented, I can’t imagine what the night would have been like without her. However, I really wished Sarah would have been the singer for our first dance. I’m not entirely sure what happened, but we were really disappointed with our first dance. I know I might have picked a unique song, being that it was Dave Matthews, but I think the vocalist was performing the backup lyrics, as we never actually heard the chorus or any of the main lyrics in the song. I’m trying to focus on how amazing the band was for what we hired you to do, get our guests dancing, but be aware that our first dance was an epic fail. Either way, I would definitely recommend DEB but would caution a future bride or groom to ensure their first dance comes off the list of songs on their website so you are not disappointed. We booked this band with high expectations for my daughter’s wedding. We were asked to select 5 songs we wanted to hear and 5 songs we did not want to hear. Based on that it was our expectation that they would play songs consistent with those selections. That was not the case. In addition the band did not attempt to build a rapport with the audience and seemed annoyed most of the evening. The lead vocalist had a nice voice but was a terrible emcee for the wedding. After the wedding, we expressed our frustration to the organizer and she was defensive and dismissive. Choose this company with caution.

DEB was extremely communicative and helpful through the planning stages. On the day of, they were loaded in and ready without problem. Their music and cadence was impeccable, all of our guests have raved about the music and how they'll never hear the album version of some songs without fond memories of out wedding. Our MC forgot to introduce the Mother and Son dance, one band member caught this and made sure it was included. Diamond Empire Band was our favorite and easiest vendor to work with by a long shot. Their attention to detail through planning and day-of as well as their spectacular performance made for a great value. I could not recommend DEB enough. Thank you for a memorable night!

We were so excited when we booked Diamond Empire and then ten days before our wedding communication completely fell apart. We found out through our coordinator (after having a conversation with Elijah the night before and having him make everything sound perfect) that most of the songs we had chosen for the band to play wouldn't be happening and they would be replaced with nothing. We got in touch with him about ten days before our wedding to try to get a list of songs that could be played, he promised this list the next day. I didn't hear anything until three days before our wedding. We were able to figure out some songs and the band sounded great during the dinner portion, but they didn't bring a microphone or amplifier. We couldn't hear them play the songs for our first dance, the father-daughter dance, or the mother-son dance and no one could hear them for the rest of the reception. I see that everyone else got an amazing celebration and it puts tears in my eyes to think that I couldn't even hear the song that my dad chose to dance with me to and that the first dance that I had with my husband was inaudible, when I know the musicians and singers were amazing.

I'm so sorry that you felt the amplification affected your event so much. I completely understand your concerns but, unfortunately, the venue you chose does not allow any amplification. We were under the impression that your wedding...
coordinator had relayed this to you and are sorry to hear you weren't aware. Unfortunately, this was completely out of the band's control as we certainly don't want to be the cause an event being shut down due to noise violations. To add to this, the band was originally told to set up next to the river on the opposite side of the park from the bar and outdoor games. People naturally gathered at the bar/games area as it was a beautiful evening. We realized they would not be able to hear the music without amplification, so, during one of our breaks we asked to move closer to the event setup for our remaining dance sets. This helped pack the dance floor and it seemed your guests were having a great time!
As far as your song list, we did play most of the songs you requested and took a number of unplanned requests from your husband and guests. As requested, we played Happy by Pharrell for the bridal party entrance, You Make My Dreams Come True for the bride and groom entrance, and On Top of the World for the cake cutting as well as other requests. Again, I'm so sorry that you felt you couldn't hear them properly due to the amplification restrictions, but we are glad that your guests seemed to have fun dancing on such a beautiful evening!

This band ROCKS! Not only was Elijah extremely helpful and flexible during the planning phase but what they pulled out during the wedding was unforgettable. They'll build the band based on your needs, wants and desires and I don't think any other band can give you what you'll get from Diamond Empire. We had an 8 piece band with a full horn section.

They are absolutely amazing! All my guests at some point or another got up and danced! Even my parents and older guests! My 8 year nephew kept saying how much fun it was and was upset when it all ended! They are very easy to work with, they have a band page where you can put down exactly what you want, what's going on that day, and etc. Definitely would recommend!
I truly feel I found the perfect band for my event! Emily is very professional. She emailed me and kept me up-to-date with plans and kept us on a good timeline. She took my requests into account as well. They are also quite affordable, so that is always a nice perk! Exceptional sound. All of my wedding guests loved them. I couldn't say enough good things!

Diamond Empire did the music for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception and every part was wonderful. They learned our first dance, father/daughter, and mother/son songs so that we could dance to live music, and they kept the floor going to the end with different genres and great sound. Leading up to the event they were very responsive and have an easy to use web interface to input song requests and event details beforehand. Thank you Diamond Empire!
Music was a high priority for me for our big day. I cannot rave enough about Diamond Empire Band and the performance they put on for our wedding reception. From MC service to the cocktail dinner music to the dance, was absolutely perfect! Our guests flooded the dance floor from the first song to the last song played. We have had so many compliments from our guests and inquiries of who the band was. We had a 12 piece band at our reception and although pricey, it was well worth it!! 5 stars for sure!

They are a collective of incredibly talented musicians and always had time for me, no matter when or how many questions I had. Our wedding was the second time we've seen their musicians perform and honestly, we can't wait for the third!! Such a blast!! People were raving about how amazing the band was and when the night was over, everyone was surprised because they were having so much fun dancing to the music, they lost track of time. I just started playing the drums 2 weeks before the wedding and they allowed me to step in on a song for the drummer and ended up getting my husband to sing. The Diamond Empire Band was amazing! We had them for our wedding in June and I can’t say enough good things about them. We had a couple of changes in songs and they just went with the flow and made it work. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who has a family that loves to dance! Excellent! They are so easy to work with and very professional. DEB is a great value and helps you choose the number of musicians that works best for you and your budget. The 4 piece band I had at my Santa Fe, New Mexico wedding rocked and they even improvised a new set on the fly when the cops told us we needed quiet down (silly neighbors...). They kept the party going strong, even with the volume and bass turned way low! Awesome guys and definitely recommend.
Emily and the Diamond Empire Band were amazing. The process was very well organized, easy to understand, and went flawlessly. Then you add on the performance of the band and the fact that they learned songs specifically for our wedding made it really personal and custom for us. They sounded great, played beautifully and made it fun. It was everything we wanted.
Diamond Empire Band was absolutely incredible. Elijah was a complete professional before the event, responding timely to all of our questions and providing insight about how they have seen events go smoothly in the past. The band allows you to tailor make it to whatever size and composition you would like. We had a duet violin and guitar perform for the ceremony and then a more traditional band for the reception, and we also used their MC services.
They crushed every aspect of the night. We even threw them some curve balls and with less than a week to go, we asked them to perform some oddball songs that I highly doubt they have ever seen before, and they executed them flawlessly. During the reception they worked the crowd wonderfully and had everyone dancing. On Don't Stop Believin,' one of the vocalists even called me and my bride up to do a little singing of our own totally spontaneously and it made our night extra special!
I truly cannot recommend Diamond Empire Band enough. If you want responsive professionals that will knock it out of the park and give you a night to remember, you will not regret booking them!
Diamond Empire was great to work with! Desmond was very accommodating and easy to work with on arranging our outdoor reception set up. Everything sounded great! Our only hang up was that the drummer did not show up so they had to find a very last minute replacement which caused the band to start an hour late for our reception. Since the venue kicks everyone out at 11:00 there was no way to make up for that lost time.
Diamond Empire is an amazing company and we are more than thrilled with their performance at our wedding. They are very easy to work with and make the process leading up to the wedding date very smooth. The band sounded amazing and we could not have asked for a better group to perform. As much as it pains me to say... my husband and I didn’t get much opportunity to actually listen to the band. Between taking pictures, greeting guests, cutting cake and all of the other wedding activities, we didn’t get to relax much of the night.
However, our guest have made multiple comments about how fantastic the band was and how much they enjoyed the music! Our guests were happy and that makes us happy!
So, so, so incredible! Andy, Leida, and the crew were PHENOMENAL and made my wedding SO. MUCH. FUN. The day would have been so different without them.
I gotta say-this band was absolutely amazing. When I started shopping for bands when we first got engaged, I was blown away by how expensive most of them were, when I called for an estimate from DEB, they we're much more reasonable. We went to a showcase, and we booked them right away.
They actually learned all our first songs (we had some obscure requests), and I was totally impressed. And the best part-everyone danced! We had cousins on the dance floor I had never seen dance. It was just absolutely supreme in every sense and I could not thank them more

The planning process was very organized and straight forward. The night of the wedding Kelly and the band were so sweet, organized, and talented! Our family and friends were blown away and the dance floor was full the entire time! We couldn't be happier that we chose Diamond Empire Band and we highly recommend them!

I cannot begin to describe how wonderful my experience working with Emily and DEB was. They were incredibly professional, very communicative, and have an online interface that made the planning super easy.
From set-up to break-down everything ran incredibly smoothly. I asked Emily to provide a solo guitarist for our ceremony, a jazz trio for cocktail hour and a 5-piece band for dancing. Each of these required different set ups, timing, learning special request songs, and DEB completely delivered.

Having Diamond Empire Band play our wedding reception was one of the best decisions we made! We requested Megan and Ether as our vocalists after seeing them perform in Benson. The entire band is so talented! Our guests raved about the band the rest of the weekend and continue to tell us how much fun they had dancing and singing all night long. If you have it in your budget to hire a band over a DJ, you should do it! The pictures and videos we have of our guests (from the flower girl to grandparents) dancing and singing are priceless!
Diamond Empire Band is an outstanding group that I would highly recommend to anyone. They played an amazing set with a great blend of new music as well as the classics. This band was AMAZING! They played a classic but 100% creative and unique set that got everyone dancing. They were easy to book, work with, and showed up big time for the day. Our wedding night was freezing and outside and they still played with a ton of energy late into the night. The band made our party what is was and I can not recommend them more!
DEB was great. We booked them for our wedding in Durango, CO after watching a few videos online and reading reviews on The Knot. They were helpful in answering our questions leading up to the wedding and performed flawless on our day. All of our guests loved the entertainment and the dance floor was full all night. They stuck to our schedule and our wedding went smoothly.
When we started wedding planning, live music was a priority for us. I found Diamond Empire Band via Wedding Wire, and I highly recommend them. Vocalist/manager Emily Merrell is fantastic to work with -- super responsive, helpful, and flexible. She worked with us to find a way to get the most bang for our buck as far as the ensemble we hired, and then she worked with us on song selection and notes for MCing. Most importantly, the reception was a blast thanks to DEB! Our guests have been raving about how awesome the band was. I'm so glad we decided to go with live music and with Diamond Empire Band.

Perfect! Diamond Empire Band (DEB) played our ceremony music with a string trio and then our reception music with a 5 piece band. Nothing beats live music and their team did an outstanding job! Emily the main singer was my point of contact for coordinating the timeline; music selections for ceremony and first dance etc. She was a pleasure to work with!!! Quick to reply, anticipated needs, and was extremely personable. Knowing DEB likely has 1-2 weddings ever weekend Emily really made me feel like ours was special and unique. Diamond Empire band was the hit of our wedding! The band was recommended to us by our wedding planner and they were great from the beginning. We saw a showcase in Denver and booked the band quickly after that. We liked that we were able to see different band members, and combinations of instruments to help us better decide what we were looking for. Our experience with Zach and the rest of the band was great. Every guest danced and the dance floor was packed all night!!! We would definitely recommend Diamond Empire Band.
Highly recommend against using them, just get a DJ. It seems like a really cool idea to get a band obviously but what happens when the bands boring ? A DJ you can say specifically play this song, a band, you ask 3 times by 3 different people to liven it up and nothing changed. That was our experience, they would have played exactly the same if no one was there, didn't interact with the crowd at all. The processional sounded like someone was playing with mitts on. We had an awkward moment at the alter after planning weeks in advance for them to start playing music once we kissed, we had to awkwardly look at each other, look at them, start walking and THEN they started playing.

d more softly for a small ceremony, so if that is not what you wanted then I'm sorry and wish we had discussed this beforehand. As far as the song choices, I know you gave us an extensive list of songs you like and dislike, so we tried to stick to that selection with a mix of indie, reggae and selected pop songs as requested. While we can take requests, it can be hard to adjust the set list so much on the day, so I'm sorry if it wasn't lively enough for you - but the dance floor seemed packed on the night and your guests seemed to be having fun, so I hope that made up for it! Again, I apologize for anything that you weren't happy with and we will certainly take your comments into consideration for future events. We wish you and Alicia all the best!
I would give the quality of musical talent of the band itself a 4/5, but we had a lot of issues with the sound system and mics during our ceremony and reception.
The weather cooperated with us last minute and we moved the ceremony back outside. We had several issues with the sound system during the ceremony, but with a last-minute move, I understand that there may be issues as they had to quickly adjust and I won't fault them for this.
However, during the reception which was in a different area, and there was time allotted for a sound check, I was surprised that there were microphone issues the entire night. From very loud feedback during the speeches to one of the lead singers mic not working for the first two songs during dinner. Additionally, we actually cut our first dance song short because there was so much feedback while they played our song on the iPad.
Aside from the sound system issues the band itself did a good job, but it definitely put a big damper on the experience for us. It just seemed like for a band that does this every weekend, if there was a sound system issue, it should be able to be rectified quickly, not linger throughout the entire event.
A side note for planning as well: all of our communication throughout the process and final walk thru/discussion the week of the wedding was with Elijah. He was very helpful. However, he was not there the day of the wedding, which was a surprise to us. I think some of the small planning/logistics items slipped through the cracks since the actual person we had all discussions with wasn't there.

I'm so glad that you enjoyed the band's performance but I would like to apologize for the sound issues at your wedding. As you've mentioned, due to the unpredictable weather and the last minute change of location for the band, we did...
not have time to soundcheck. Usually, sound system problems do not affect our events as we set aside plenty of set up and sound check time beforehand to sort out any potential PA or sound system issues with the venue. We were trying to avoid sound checking during your event, as it can be very obnoxious to adjust the feedback with guests around, and were hoping we could avoid that. Unfortunately, the system did not cooperate and I am so sorry that this led to issues during the ceremony. We wish you the all the best in your happy marriage!
Great band. They took the time to learn some songs that we wanted at the wedding and they helped us weed out the songs we didn't want too. They played right up until the cops came for a noise complaint (the neighbors aren't supportive of wedding celebrations I suppose..) by no means were they too loud. They also helped with timing things like the first dance and father/daughter dance, cake cutting, etc. I wouldn't of gone any other way.
The group from Diamond Empire Band at our wedding was incredible. They had such positive energy and are amazing musicians. Everyone had a great time and numerous guess said it was the best wedding they have ever been too. My parents even dances to several songs and the never dance! I highly recommend them! Having a band was pricey compared to a dj but they were well worth the investment.
We loved our experience with Emily & the Diamond Empire Band. We planned our Utah wedding from NYC and didn’t have the chance to hear them live (our photographer had recommended them after hearing them at a wedding she photographed). We were blown away when they started singing at our wedding (they sound great on their website… but they sound even more amazing live!) and we received rave reviews from our guests. Emily’s has a stunning voice (in fact, one of our musically gifted guests said “I’m in love with her voice” which is saying something considering he was a musical theater major in NYC…) and the band did a great job of reading the room and keeping the energy up since we wanted people dancing! We had asked them to learn a few songs for us – which they did incredibly well. In particular, we asked them to learn a traditional Jewish dance song hava nagila (which is sung in Hebrew…) and they nailed it. It was honestly the best hora we’ve ever seen which is saying something considering it was a song they’d never played before.
Overall, they did a fantastic job and we would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone! We had reached out to a quite few other bands in the planning process and can say with 99% certainty you will not find a more reasonably priced band with their level of quality, professionalism and talent.

They used their great band planning page to help us stay organize and think of all the logistics of the wedding day. They always emailed/called back when I had questions or concerns. They were responsive, professional, and patient.
Then on the wedding day they made it absolutely perfect! They performed for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and dancing. They seemed to always be able to gauge the crowd and kept everyone happy and dancing all night. The singer was incredible and the band a lot of fun. We picked Diamond Empire Band because we knew they were versatile enough to play all types of music, and professional enough to handle everything so we didn't have to stress. We definitely picked the right band :) Emily is super talented and her communication was very responsive and helpful. I was a huge fan of the planning page and all of the communication that went out during the planning process!
Concerning flexibility- Emily was able to extend their band sets to work for us, which really meant a lot since our timeline was shorter than normal. They also learned a couple of our favorite songs for us and were able to accommodate all of our requests. On our big day, things were so crazy that we didn't really even get to spend a lot of time with the band, but they were totally able to function without needing any supervision or direction.
DEB really is top notch and I would recommend them to anyone!! They made our day so special and we can't thank them enough.
The wedding band was the most important part for us in planning our wedding. Diamond Empire did not disappoint. They got the party started and kept it going ALL night!! If there was a way for us to rate them with more than five stars, we would. At one pint the band even came out on the dance floor with their instruments. :) We highly recommend them for anyone who is looking for a band who engages the crowd & throws a great party. We had several different perspectives on music for the reception and the ceremony and Kelley and her team worked through our requests to help us fine tune the best options. They even learned several of our favorite songs for us so they could play it at the reception.

Diamond Empire Band performed at my wedding on May 28th, 2017. They were SO AMAZING! They played a HUGE variety of songs that appealed to everyone, from the 2 year old to my 75 year old grandpa. Elijah was super easy to work with and very responsive, and their online band planner is really easy to use and customize. They worked with the venue's wedding coordinator well and seriously just did a phenomenal job. They were so energetic and joyful, you couldn't help but dance! My husband really wanted a band, and he couldn't be happier with our choice. They were clearly the way to go, and I would 100% recommend them to anyone who wants live music. They got really involved in the wedding, and the female singer even caught the bouquet! (there were only 4 single ladies, so we needed to fill out the ranks!) The rates are also quite reasonable. If you're looking for a band, look no further. This is the one for you!
Diamond Empire Band was nothing but accommodating for our wedding! They actively communicated with me in the time leading up to the wedding. Andy (our MC) was incredibly nice and flexible, taking requests as we threw them out, letting the bridal party sing with the band, etc. I think my favorite part was that they were totally cool with my little sister joining in for a few songs with her trombone! They really made her feel welcome and kept the guests pumped up!
We would recommend the Diamond Empire Band again and again...a million times over. I could not have been more pleased to work with them. They are beyond talented, with their own sound and energy. They are true artists!!! Throughout the whole planning process, they were always so quick to respond to my emails or set up call with us. Every single one of my guests said that the music was what made the night. Do not be fooled that this band is "featured." I hired this band for a St. Louis wedding after listening to the demo and loving the sound of the male vocalist. After paying a deposit, I was alerted that the singer was no longer in the band. Feeling misled in our decision to go with DEB, we decided to cancel, only to be told we would not be refunded of our deposit. BEWARE - their office is in NYC and they do not return calls.
This band was everything. All we asked was that they didn't play country (a personal preference) and left the rest up to them. The songs they chose were exactly what a wedding needs. They are the best!!!!!
Super awesome band! Found them through a wedding show and went to hear them play. Loved them and booked them right away. Were in contact for months, updating our songs, timeline, etc. We used them for ceremony, reception (7 piece) as well as MC. They were phenomenal! Oh my goodness...DEB is outstanding! Choosing Diamknd Empire is one of the best wedding decisions we could have ever made! They killed it and livened up the entire night! From helping us plan and organize our wedding, to jamming out the night of - DEB has always had our back! I have never been so impressed with a band. They not only played at our reception - but also we had a violinist and acoustic guitarist for the ceremony and it was beautiful!

Kellie and the Diamond Empire Band in KC were amazing! Kellie was easy to communicate with from the very start, and we were able to meet her and listen to music from a variety of the KC area musicians during the band's showcase. The band took into consideration the music styles we like and came up with a great set list. They were able to read the room really well - softer jazz music during dinner, upbeat afterwards. We had a small wedding and were a little worried no one would be dancing, but our dance floor was full all night long - it's hard not to get up with such great music :) The band was also willing to learn several songs they didn't already know for the mother-son dance, etc. One of my favorite parts was when Kellie came up during the reception and told me they'd learned my favorite song and she loved it and wanted to be sure I was on the floor when they played it. They are incredibly talented - you really can't go wrong with this group of musicians!
If I could give this band 10 stars, I would. DEB is made up of all professional musicians, so they're able to tailor the musicians they hire to your needs. We wanted a cellist and violinist for the ceremony and an awesome funk band for our wedding, and DEB nailed both. All of our guests were on the dance floor all night long, and all completely blown away by the band. Elijah was amazing to work with - professional and personable. And all of the musicians and vocalists were extremely talented. I would recommend this band any day of the week to ANY wedding.
My husband and I are both so glad that we hired Diamond Empire Band to perform for our wedding! Kelley was just awesome to work with - she kept in constant communication with us and was always quick to respond to emails. She even reached out to us several times to invite us to the local Kansas City showcases and always took the time to visit with us there about any additional questions we might have had. A week before the wedding, we also had a great phone conference with her to finalize all details. For our ceremony, we used DEB's string trio, which was outstanding and added to the ambiance of our outdoor courtyard wedding. We also had a three piece DEB jazz band perform for our cocktail hour. The biggest highlight of the night was the 8-piece Diamond Empire Band, complete with an AMAZING horn section. Kelley and our male vocalist were outstanding and Kelley also did a great job serving as emcee. The dance floor was literally packed until the very end of the night!! One of the highlights was our trombone player coming out on the dance floor to play in the middle of all of the guests. So fun! We absolutely loved DEB's professionalism, responsiveness to our requests/emails, affordability, and truly unbelievable energy. They were set up ready to go well in advance of our wedding and were so easy to work with. Thanks for making our wedding night so special Diamond Empire Band! We wanted our guests to dance and enjoy a great party and you guys definitely made that happen. We received many comments from our guests about how good you guys were. Diamond Empire Band played our wedding in Boulder a couple of weeks ago, and they were outstanding. They couldn't have been easier to work with leading up to our wedding and were very professional. Most importantly, they did a great job during our ceremony and reception. Really talented musicians, and they read the crowd well. Everyone was on the dance floor for every song that they played, and several of our wedding guests made a point to let my wife and myself know how awesome these guys were. I couldn't be happier with the decision that we made, and I would highly recommend them to anyone.
I cannot speak highly enough of the Diamond Empire Band. Kelley was one of my favorite vendors to work with during the wedding planning process. She was extremely professional, friendly, and throughout. She made sure every detail of the night was covered before we got to the wedding reception so our reception ran the exact way we wanted it to. She was very flexible and listened extremely well to the music choices we wanted to hear and the ones we could do without. My husband and I also wanted a specific song as our first dance and they were willing to learn the song so we could use it! :) They also provide MC services as well and she made the night run smoothly. The band was SO lively and fun. Our friends loved them and there was never a lag on the dance floor all night. I would suggest splurging for the brass section, they made the music so fun and lively. I highly recommend using Diamond Empire for your wedding band.
This is a hard review for me to write- the band performed WONDERFULLY and our wedding party loved them. Sadly, they were the only thing my wedding planner and I were concerned about prior to the wedding week. My planner had to practically hound them to get a confirmation they would be AT the ceremony the Tuesday of our wedding. Our first dance song seemed unrehearsed and the vocals could barely be heard. There were several other small things that laddered up to us being very disappointed in this booking but the lack of communication/responsiveness was unparalleled with any of our other vendors we worked with. I work in experiential marketing producing events all over the country and I have never experienced anything like this.
