My husband and I enjoyed the wedding so much, the dancing and the band being helpful with keeping us on track. Elijah was easy to work with, and helped us plan the event. e pretty let down. For the price we paid and online media we listened to, we expected a lot more than what we received on the day of our wedding. There was definite tension within the band, the singer was very low energy and there were a few songs I felt were very inappropriate for the occasion. I worked with Braelon as our producer and he was always upbeat and excited and I assumed he’d be the singer for our wedding the day of. As it got closer, he got a couple of things mixed up but that wasn’t a big deal and probably a result of us not making it clear as to who to contact for planning (the bride and groom) versus who to contact the day of (our coordinator). Regardless, we enjoyed working with him. Our singer the day of seemed to be working on things personally and/or with the band and a few guests asked us about the tension. The biggest thing was that our singer was very low energy and the music was super quiet. We could never hear what she was saying on the mic and could barely hear/figure what songs were being played. Our coordinator had to ask a few times for the singer’s mic to adjust her volume. During the band break, WAP by Cardi B was played. I’m not sure if a guest requested it but, regardless, I felt that was in poor taste, especially with family in attendance. I reached out about our concerns and Curtis Brink (another musician and producer) responded to rectify the situation. He assisted on a partial refund and was very helpful and apologetic, however, there’s not really any way we can go back and fix the music of our wedding. Overall, I’ve heard great things about DEB and I’m sure this incident was a one-off situation and not reflective of their typical shows but we were pretty disappointed that the one slip happened at our wedding.

We have played at so many incredible events and really pride ourselves on a high energy performance and full dance floors. We hold ourselves to a high standard and did not hit the mark that night. A refund was obviously offered since we didn't feel we delivered our best; but I know that doesn't make up for your disappointment. We have already used this as a learning experience to ensure it doesn't happen again. Wishing you all the best!

to the pandemic, we were not able to hear them live. But it was clear they were the obvious pick! And they did not disappoint! Th performed at our wedding in St. Louis on 3.20.21. They were incredibly easy to work with and answer all our COVID related questions. To be honest, they made it so easy to enjoy our time despite the circumstances. The entire wedding was dancing from end to finish. And they did an amazing job at our first dance and father/mother dances. Thank you for everything!

we read for Diamond Empire Band. We booked them without seeing them, hoping the internet wouldn't lead us a stray. I am happy to say that the band completely exceeded our expectations! They were awesome to work with, consulted with us to make sure the music would match our taste and keep all of our guests on the dance floor all night. Some of my favorite memories from the night are dancing to the sound of these amazing musicians! If you are planning a wedding reception and want to make sure you and your guests are dancing all night, you should book Diamond Empire! We are still hearing from our guests how much fun they had and how great the music was!

process was a breeze and you made planning perfectly seamless. I appreciate you working with my ceremony vocalist and granting an extension on the timeline allowing me to use my first band set for cocktail hour. I have to tell you, Sarah made the band as the main vocalist. I loved how she made her way around the dance floor and grabbed people from the bar and brought them to the dance floor. She made people want to dance and people are still talking about how amazing the lead singer was. She was so high energy and talented, I can’t imagine what the night would have been like without her. However, I really wished Sarah would have been the singer for our first dance. I’m not entirely sure what happened, but we were really disappointed with our first dance. I know I might have picked a unique song, being that it was Dave Matthews, but I think the vocalist was performing the backup lyrics, as we never actually heard the chorus or any of the main lyrics in the song. I’m trying to focus on how amazing the band was for what we hired you to do, get our guests dancing, but be aware that our first dance was an epic fail. Either way, I would definitely recommend DEB but would caution a future bride or groom to ensure their first dance comes off the list of songs on their website so you are not disappointed. It was an absolute pleasure working with you Elijah! Sarah, you were everything I could have asked for and you truly made the night! Thank you for all you did to make our day so special!

ur expectation that they would play songs consistent with those selections. That was not the case. In addition the band did not attempt to build a rapport with the audience and seemed annoyed most of the evening. The lead vocalist had a nice voice but was a terrible emcee for the wedding. After the wedding, we expressed our frustration to the organizer and she was defensive and dismissive. Choose this company with caution.

Our MC forgot to introduce the Mother and Son dance, one band member caught this and made sure it was included. Diamond Empire Band was our favorite and easiest vendor to work with by a long shot. We were so excited when we booked Diamond Empire and then ten days before our wedding communication completely fell apart. We found out through our coordinator (after having a conv...
ersation with Elijah the night before and having him make everything sound perfect) that most of the songs we had chosen for the band to play wouldn't be happening and they would be replaced with nothing. We got in touch with him about ten days before our wedding to try to get a list of songs that could be played, he promised this list the next day. I didn't hear anything until three days before our wedding. We were able to figure out some songs and the band sounded great during the dinner portion, but they didn't bring a microphone or amplifier. We couldn't hear them play the songs for our first dance, the father-daughter dance, or the mother-son dance and no one could hear them for the rest of the reception. I see that everyone else got an amazing celebration and it puts tears in my eyes to think that I couldn't even hear the song that my dad chose to dance with me to and that the first dance that I had with my husband was inaudible, when I know the musicians and singers were amazing.

mpletely understand your concerns but, unfortunately, the venue you chose does not allow any amplification. We were under the impression that your wedding coordinator had relayed this to you and are sorry to hear you weren't aware. Unfortunately, this was completely out of the band's control as we certainly don't want to be the cause an event being shut down due to noise violations. To add to this, the band was originally told to set up next to the river on the opposite side of the park from the bar and outdoor games. People naturally gathered at the bar/games area as it was a beautiful evening. We realized they would not be able to hear the music without amplification, so, during one of our breaks we asked to move closer to the event setup for our remaining dance sets. This helped pack the dance floor and it seemed your guests were having a great time!
As far as your song list, we did play most of the songs you requested and took a number of unplanned requests from your husband and guests. As requested, we played Happy by Pharrell for the bridal party entrance, You Make My Dreams Come True for the bride and groom entrance, and On Top of the World for the cake cutting as well as other requests. Again, I'm so sorry that you felt you couldn't hear them properly due to the amplification restrictions, but we are glad that your guests seemed to have fun dancing on such a beautiful evening!

ave seen events go smoothly in the past. The band allows you to tailor make it to whatever size and composition you would like. We had a duet violin and guitar perform for the ceremony and then a more traditional band for the reception, and we also used their MC services.
They crushed every aspect of the night. We even threw them some curve balls and with less than a week to go, we asked them to perform some oddball songs that I highly doubt they have ever seen before, and they executed them flawlessly. During the reception they worked the crowd wonderfully and had everyone dancing. On Don't Stop Believin,' one of the vocalists even called me and my bride up to do a little singing of our own totally spontaneously and it made our night extra special!
I truly cannot recommend Diamond Empire Band enough. If you want responsive professionals that will knock it out of the park and give you a night to remember, you will not regret booking them!
