hort. We were told we’d receive a call two weeks before our wedding to finalize details, but despite leaving multiple voicemails and text messages, we didn’t hear from anyone until just three days before. I understand they may have been busy, but a simple heads-up would have gone a long way.
This was particularly stressful because we had specific song requests, MC notes, and other important details we wanted to ensure were addressed. Unfortunately, the wedding day itself came with several issues. There were noticeable technical problems with feedback and popping, and our first dance song even started and stopped while we were in the middle of the dance floor. On top of that, many of the songs we had requested in advance weren’t played at all.
Given how important live music was to us, and the significant expense we invested, I wish we had gone a different route. What should have been a personalized, special experience instead felt impersonal and generic—as if we were just another number. I truly wanted this to go well, but sadly, it missed the mark in many ways.

The lead singer of the band was also great the night of the wedding. He checked in with us throughout the night and asked us for our feedback on a few things which I appreciated. We also heard from our wedding guests all night how much they loved the band and how great they were. Everyone kept chanting for the band to keep playing when the wedding ended! Overall would definitely recommend them!!

Zakk and the Band took the time and effort to make sure all of our requests and wishes were carried out from not only playing our requested music selections, performing well, keeping the energy high, but also MCing perfectly by communicating well with the caters and me (the bride). The band was so professional, classy, and so so talented. An example of their efforts that went above and beyond was that our best man had a great story about Footloose in his speech that got the crowd roaring with laughter...the band was clearly listening because when he hit the dance floor later in the evening, they played Footloose! So classy, so personal, and so appreciated by my husband and I. We are eternally grateful to Diamond Empire for making our wedding day perfect and so fun for us and all of our guests. We will recommend Diamond Empire to anyone thinking about having a band at their wedding, and we're already talking about having them again at our 5-year wedding anniversary!

They were awesome to work with, consulted with us to make sure the music would match our taste and keep all of our guests on the dance floor all night. Some of my favorite memories from the night are dancing to the sound of these amazing musicians! If you are planning a wedding reception and want to make sure you and your guests are dancing all night, you should book Diamond Empire! We are still hearing from our guests how much fun they had and how great the music was!

I appreciate you working with my ceremony vocalist and granting an extension on the timeline allowing me to use my first band set for cocktail hour. I have to tell you, Sarah made the band as the main vocalist. I loved how she made her way around the dance floor and grabbed people from the bar and brought them to the dance floor. She made people want to dance and people are still talking about how amazing the lead singer was. She was so high energy and talented, I can’t imagine what the night would have been like without her. However, I really wished Sarah would have been the singer for our first dance. I’m not entirely sure what happened, but we were really disappointed with our first dance. I know I might have picked a unique song, being that it was Dave Matthews, but I think the vocalist was performing the backup lyrics, as we never actually heard the chorus or any of the main lyrics in the song. I’m trying to focus on how amazing the band was for what we hired you to do, get our guests dancing, but be aware that our first dance was an epic fail. Either way, I would definitely recommend DEB but would caution a future bride or groom to ensure their first dance comes off the list of songs on their website so you are not disappointed. It was an absolute pleasure working with you Elijah! Sarah, you were everything I could have asked for and you truly made the night! Thank you for all you did to make our day so special!

ur expectation that they would play songs consistent with those selections. That was not the case. In addition the band did not attempt to build a rapport with the audience and seemed annoyed most of the evening. The lead vocalist had a nice voice but was a terrible emcee for the wedding. After the wedding, we expressed our frustration to the organizer and she was defensive and dismissive. Choose this company with caution.

Our MC forgot to introduce the Mother and Son dance, one band member caught this and made sure it was included. Diamond Empire Band was our favorite and easiest vendor to work with by a long shot. We were so excited when we booked Diamond Empire and then ten days before our wedding communication completely fell apart. We found out through our coordinator (after having a conv...
ersation with Elijah the night before and having him make everything sound perfect) that most of the songs we had chosen for the band to play wouldn't be happening and they would be replaced with nothing. We got in touch with him about ten days before our wedding to try to get a list of songs that could be played, he promised this list the next day. I didn't hear anything until three days before our wedding. We were able to figure out some songs and the band sounded great during the dinner portion, but they didn't bring a microphone or amplifier. We couldn't hear them play the songs for our first dance, the father-daughter dance, or the mother-son dance and no one could hear them for the rest of the reception. I see that everyone else got an amazing celebration and it puts tears in my eyes to think that I couldn't even hear the song that my dad chose to dance with me to and that the first dance that I had with my husband was inaudible, when I know the musicians and singers were amazing.

mpletely understand your concerns but, unfortunately, the venue you chose does not allow any amplification. We were under the impression that your wedding coordinator had relayed this to you and are sorry to hear you weren't aware. Unfortunately, this was completely out of the band's control as we certainly don't want to be the cause an event being shut down due to noise violations. To add to this, the band was originally told to set up next to the river on the opposite side of the park from the bar and outdoor games. People naturally gathered at the bar/games area as it was a beautiful evening. We realized they would not be able to hear the music without amplification, so, during one of our breaks we asked to move closer to the event setup for our remaining dance sets. This helped pack the dance floor and it seemed your guests were having a great time!
As far as your song list, we did play most of the songs you requested and took a number of unplanned requests from your husband and guests. As requested, we played Happy by Pharrell for the bridal party entrance, You Make My Dreams Come True for the bride and groom entrance, and On Top of the World for the cake cutting as well as other requests. Again, I'm so sorry that you felt you couldn't hear them properly due to the amplification restrictions, but we are glad that your guests seemed to have fun dancing on such a beautiful evening!
