When we booked our venue (a cabin on 300 private acres onto of a Mountain in New Hampshire) the entire time I couldn't stop thinking about one of my best friend's wedding's a couple years ago that took place in a barn in Maine and her pictures that her photographer had taken were what were coming to my mind as my future husband and I signed our venue contract. I immediately called my friend on our drive home and asked her to send me Dory's information. From the minute I reached out to Dory, I knew she was the one to help capture my special day. We had initially booked a 30 minute phone consult that ended up turning into almost an hour long conversation and looking back now at that time she felt like a good friend not a stranger. Over the year we kept in touch and Dory was always available when I needed her advice or even for a good laugh. When it came to our big day, I was all over the place. Some of the bridesmaids dresses weren't fitting and Dory even placed down the camera to help lend a hand during those very stressful moments! Dory also brought along her daughter Makena and oh man did we have so many laughs during the day when things were going wrong, just going with the motions and I can't thank these two enough for all that they did behind the camera as well as extra non-photographer duties that they didn't even hesitate to do when we needed their help. The weather was insanely hot, with a rain storm during our first looks and then back to humid hot heat, but Dory and Makena were the real MVP's on our wedding day as they never complained and continued to capture the most STUNNING photo's of our wedding day. The sneak peaks were gorgeous and we cannot wait to get our album (even our wedding party and guests are also begging for the full album) since we all know that Dory and Makena were such a huge part in making our day successful along with their professional photography skills, we're SO thankful for you both and would recommend them to anyone that's in need of a good photographer and friend for their wedding day. Each Diaz is better than the last! Both Dory and Makena are fun-loving, focused, easy-going, professional, goal-oriented, and above all skilled! They took great care of my bride and me, making us feel comfortable and confident and that reflects clearly in the amazing catalog of photographs we received. Speaking of photos being received, the turnaround was impressively quick! We received a link to a beautiful and easily navigable website containing masterfully shot and beautifully processed pictures from our big day just weeks after we got back from our honeymoon! After your wedding, all everyone wants is the pictures. "Can we see some pictures?" "When are you gonna show us the pictures?!" "Let's see those pictures!!!" Thankfully, because the Diaz Duo expertly and quickly were able to touch up, process, format, and export said pictures, we were able to share, post, and send out pics for all who were asking, greatly limiting the amount of time family and friends were relentlessly hounding us. Many gifted us very lovely picture frames and we are proud to display our favorite of the incredible photos taken of us, our family, and our guests prominently in our household. Furthermore, because of the impressively speedy turnaround, we didn't have to display stock photos of a family we neither know nor like in our homestead for very long. This was of great benefit to me because the stupid, condescending face of the dad in that stock photo watching over me at night... All night... Every night was really starting to awaken an inner rage that was building up inside me. Massive thanks to Diaz and Diaz Photography for resolving that issue for me before it got too out of hand! But anyway, I would highly recommend Diaz and Diaz to anyone! Their practical skill, techniques, prompts, vision, and professionalism surpass all those who could even compare. The vibrancy of the color correction is beautiful. The crisp clarity of those in the frame is sharp and impressive. The tasteful effects while capturing those on the dance floor, bring an element of movement that transports you into that moment again. The emotions that were captured in these images are now encapsulated forever in quality, high resolution, expertly executed photographs, and me and my wife are forever grateful to Diaz and Diaz. I made one of their photos, my phone's wallpaper. I'd be surprised if I ever changed my wallpaper to a non-Diaz image ever again, for real! In summation, we've all heard horror stories from our buddies about their nightmare photographer and the heinous pictures they received afterward. They didn't hire Diaz and Diaz Photography, 'cause if they did their story would be completely different. D&D Photography is an 11/10!

Where do we even begin with Diaz and Diaz Photography?!? From our very first conversation with Dory, my husband and I felt like we had known her for years. Throughout our whole engagement she was so supportive and kind. We didn’t do an engagement shoot so we were nervous about being in front of the camera for the first time but we quickly felt completely at ease thanks to Dory and Makena! They were absolutely incredible!! Everyone in our wedding parties could not stop talking about how fun and amazing they were to work with. We could not be more grateful that we worked with Dory on our engagement photos and we are so excited to have Dory and Makena shoot our wedding this September! From the first phone call, Dory immediately felt like a trusted friend. Beyond all of the typical topics, she really listened to our vision for our wedding and even offered advice on delicate family dynamics. While I could tell from her website and social media that she was talented, the first phone call made me realize how much she cares about the couples she works with, which is so special. When we realized that the location I had originally chosen wouldn’t work (black fly season in Maine is no joke!), Dory recommended an alternative that reflected all the elements I loved about the original location, and her choice could not have been more perfect! Even with an overcast sky and some light rain at the end, Dory made our engagement session really fun and bright — we were swapping Parks and Rec quotes and laughing the whole time — and put my fiancé and I at ease. Dory was calm and professional, giving us prompts when we needed them but mostly just capturing our organic dynamic, which made the session really enjoyable and the resulting photos feel really authentic. And more about the PHOTOS! They are all absolutely gorgeous — it’s impossible to pick a favorite! — and we have received so many compliments on them (in fact, my soon-to-be sister-in-law said they are the best engagement photos she’s ever seen). I jokingly asked my fiancé if it would be weird to wallpaper our apartment in them, because I love them all so much. I’m so grateful to Dory for creating such beautiful images of us, and I am giddy with excitement thinking about the photos she’ll capture at our wedding. Hire Dory! You will not regret it.

Dory and her daughter are by far the most amazing, kind and generous people we have ever met! Dory made my whole bridal party feel absolutely beautiful and comfortable in there own skin as she photographed us. She was incredibly easy and amazing to work with. Dory was by far our #1 most complimented wedding vendor from the moment we shared engagement photos through her work with everyone at our wedding. Not only are her shots gorgeous, we knew we could rely on her and Makena to capture every moment of our day, including some incredible candids. When we chose Dory, we knew that when we looked back at the photos, they would capture the true emotion of the day and every little moment, including ones that we missed until getting to see them in photographs! What stood out to me about Dory was that she emphasizes getting to know you and having fun with you. She and Makena are so warm and kind that you immediately feel comfortable with them. We truly don’t have enough words to express how much we loved working with Dory and Makena. Pictures of our wedding were both hugely important to me yet extremely nerve-wracking as I’m not super confident in front of the camera. Every conversation we had with Dory leading up to the wedding made me feel more confident due to her enthusiastic, positive, and supportive approach to every detail. On the day of the wedding, I was very nervous, but Dory and Makena were upbeat, funny, and picked up on my sense of humor right away, making me feel my best and extremely at ease in their presence. My family and friends continually commented (even after the wedding was over) that Dory truly felt like a member of the family. My now-husband, who has been a groomsmen in too many weddings to count, said that this is the first time taking wedding photos didn’t feel like a chore. Dory and Makena were so fun to work with, and truly captured all of us at our best, true selves. There were even moments when I forgot I was having my photo taken (which I NEVER thought would happen!). When we received our photos, we both felt every single emotion from that day all over again. The photographs capture our day perfectly, exactly how we remembered it, and reminded us how truly beautiful our wedding day was. I shed many tears looking at the photos she took of the people I love because I saw their true selves reflected flawlessly in every image. They are truly beautiful images that captured us, our venue, and the people in our lives in a genuine, stunning light. Dory’s photographs are stunning in their authenticity and character. She is not challenged by any kind of light or landscape, and is able to produce beautiful photos no matter the setting or circumstances! We can’t recommend Dory and Makena enough!

Can't recommend Dory any more highly! Not only were my photographs beyond my expectations, she was everyone's favorite person at the wedding.... like, multiple guests came up to me asking how I had such a nice and cool photographer. She might be more of a life coach than a photographer. I mean, the photos are unreal, but I think I just appreciated having her around during the wedding process the most. Exceeded every expectation.

Dory was absolutely fantastic to work with! From the moment she arrived in the morning to the moment she left, she and her second photographer Makena were so high-energy - she got me and my girls all up and moving and having fun! She had a great idea of all the shots she wanted, both for our bridal shoot and our portrait shoots. We did our party/couple photos at Portland Head Light, and Dory went by early to get an idea of photo locations. I was a little nervous since it was a public park, but Dory kept us moving and took some absolutely fabulous photos while also dodging tourists and keeping them out of the shots. During the reception she was fantastic at capturing the moment without interrupting the action. As far as pre-wedding preparation, Dory was great with helping us compile vendor info/shot requests/family names. She also helped us develop the wedding day timeline. Pricing was very comparable to other high-end photographers. I would recommend Dory in a heartbeat to anyone looking to get married in the area!!

YES 5 stars. Plus some! Dory was absolutely amazing, and it's going to be hard to keep this review short :) From the very start Dory was both extremely fun and totally professional. Everything in her bio description is 100% the truth. She was in constant communication, and had such great tools to prepare us for our special day. From her survey which helped her know who everyone was, to her check-in's texts/calls with any questions, and immediately getting back to me on any questions I had. On top of having what I know will be AMAZING photographs, Dory was so much more than my photographer on my wedding day. She felt like a friend and also like a second wedding coordinator. Girls you will SO appreciate Dory's help on your wedding day, her knowledge of other vendors, her surroundings, getting all the family shots done quickly but we never felt rushed! It was SO hot the day of our wedding, and Dory was so great at expediting the pictures to ensure we got all of our requests met but to save us from the heat! She was also not afraid to do whatever it takes to get those shots done, in any weather condition! We had so many laughs and an absolute blast taking the "getting ready" photos, and ALL throughout the night. We are so glad we chose Dory and that we also got to know her through our engagement photos - makes it so much easier for wedding day when you have already booked her. Lastly - something very small, but very huge - Dory sensed some minor overwhelming feels come over me morning of the wedding, and she so tactfully distanced me from everyone and told me to take my time, take a breathe, and think happy thoughts of this beautiful day ahead of us. That solidified that Dory was truly there for me that day, and not just to shoot some shots and leave. And it helped more than you know. When searching for a photographer I received many quotes and I will say Dory's prices are comparable with many quotes I received for top rated photographers, and she is also worth every penny. Dory was amazing! She made our wedding day extra special. She took the time to get to know us which was really nice. Dory made me (the bride) very comfortable because I’m very uncomfortable with taking pictures. She captured many wonderful moments. Where do I even begin!? If you’re looking for a photographer look no further! Dory is your gal! Dory and her daughter McKenna made my best friends day flawless! She got every moment of the entire day on camera just perfectly. From behind the scenes just the girls hanging out and getting ready (and the boys) to the actual ceremony and photos after. I’m truly amazed at the photos she was able to capture. She made my best friends feel so comfortable and confident on their special day. Let’s also be honest, we weren’t the easiest bunch were a little crazy and Dory handled it better than I could ever of expected! Multiple times during the day did she have us laughing so hard that our stomachs hurt. When I get married I’m forcing Dory to come wherever that is so she can also be my photographer that’s how great she is! Surprise Dory! Dory is just the best! Not only are her photos absolutely amazing but so is she. Dory was so easy to connect with and made the planning process so easy- she helped me figure out my wedding day schedule and gave some very helpful advice. The day of, I already felt like she was just part of the small wedding group of friends and family. She was bubbly, caring, funny, enthusiastic, organized, and so talented. We were trying to get really cool first photo shots and she even used her body to hold up thorn bushes just so I didn’t walk into them!! Dory and her assistant Jess were amazing! They photographed my wedding August 2019, and the pictures couldn't be more beautiful. She captured so many cool, candid moments, as well as of course all the classic poses plus some really fun ones! She was there ALL DAY with us, and was really dedicated to not missing a thing! The pictures are GORGEOUS! I have them in a digital frame that rotates through all of them, and sometimes I just sit and stare at it with a big, dumb smile on my face. She was super chill, too, and helped things go smoothly. My husband and his groomsmen also had a lot of fun with Jess in getting group and getting ready shots. My husband HATES getting pictures taken, and he said it was so fun and easy. They're both the best!

My experience with Dory has been above and beyond. After my first phone call with her, I knew she was the photographer for me. We connected so well during that one phone call, I canceled all my other phone interviews with other photographers. My engagement photos turned out so well, I'm so excited to see my wedding photos! The sneak peeks I've seen so far have been amazing! Dory is very good at day of timeline planning, and on the day helping keep everyone on track and on time! She's also very skilled at fading into the background while taking pictures. Other than a few prods here and there to do this or that, she excels at candid moments, and really likes to let her subjects shine by doing what is natural to them. As someone who gets a little awkward and shy in front of the camera, she made it so easy to forget she was even taking pictures! During our first look, I completely forgot she was there, and the shots I've seen from it so far make it seem like we truly were in our own world. You will not regret hiring her to do your wedding!

Dory is amazing! I honestly can't say enough nice things about her both personally and professionally. My now wife and I had the pleasure of meeting her and seeing her in action at my sister in-laws wedding a few years ago and were blown away. When it was time for us to get married we knew that she was the photographer we wanted. She was incredibly helpful throughout the whole process. From the time we scheduled our engagement pictures right up until we got our wedding pictures we knew we were in good hands. She's so knowledgeable and helped guide us down the right path when making decisions but was also completely receptive and respectful of our own ideas and requests. She has a great personality and put us all at ease right off the bat and allowed us to do our thing. She was cracking jokes and having a good time right along with us which was awesome! What we all thought was going to be a hindrance ended up being a lot of fun which I never thought I'd say about taking pictures. I can't thank her enough for making it such an easy and surprisingly enjoyable process. We got our wedding pictures back and my wife can't stop looking at them and talking about how amazing they are. We could not be happier with both the process and the end product. We've been recommending this duo to our friends non-stop and can't stress enough how great this experience has been! ABSOLUTELY. FANTASTIC. This past Spring we had an indoor wedding. During our search, we really wanted to make sure we hired someone who had a lot of experience with indoor lighting and we came across Dory. Looking through her previous photos, Dory's photos are beautiful and she had worked at our venue prior. We knew she was the photigrapher fir us! On our wedding day, Dory and Jess made us feel nothing but comfortable the entire time and made sure we were all having fun doing it! They both have such a pleasant and fun energy the entire time. They both were also so good about organizing their time and had incredible control over situating everyone for photos. I couldn't be happier about how our photos came out! Dory was honestly one of my favorite parts of my wedding. Upon the very first phone call I had with her we just clicked. When I started looking for a wedding photographer I didn't even know where to begin! She answered every question I had and then asked me things that I would not have even thought of! When we met for the first time in person to do our engagement shoot my fiance and I just loved her! She made it look so easy. She got the most beautiful pictures and seeing those I know we definitely made the right choice. She is just so friendly and warm and makes you feel like a part of the family when she's taking your photo. She talks you through all of the posing and it just looks so natural. And she is not afraid to get dirty! She will crawl/hike/jump/roll in dirt to get the best photos possible. She was also able to take our rehearsal dinner photos and this was such a good call! Dory was AMAZING during our engagement and wedding day photos. I honestly don’t think our wedding day would have gone as smoothly as it did without her and Jessica! She makes sure everything and everyone is on time, caters to whatever peoples’ needs and is very enthusiastic about her work ON TOP of taking all those photos. Dory and Jess are amazing! They are very professional, but fun to be with at the same time!! When at a session they show that they love their job, always have a good time, and are happy to be there. There’s never a bad angle and no matter the place, the pictures come out beautiful. I would, without a doubt, have them photograph another special occasion!! We absolutely loved having them as our photographers and there on our day!

Dory and Jess were absolutely fantastic! The biggest piece of advice I was given when planning our wedding was to make sure you get a great photographer to capture your day. I sure am glad I listened because not only did they get the family photos we wanted, but they captured moments between us and our friends and families that I honestly forgot about in all the commotion. I swear Dory was like part of the family as she helped me calm my nerves and assured me everything was going to be perfect. I had never been on the side of doing a First Look before the ceremony, but after thinking about all the family photos that we wanted and also trying to get sunset pictures as our wedding was in the evening during winter, we finally listened and are so glad we did. Although it didn’t snow like I had hoped, the rain held out just long enough for us to have our First Look. When the freezing rain held off, we were able to get outside and take the pictures I had always wanted. Dory and Jess were great about making sure people came in and out of photos quickly while still getting great shots so we didn’t have to freeze too much!

Dory Diaz Photography did an incredible job capturing our best day ever! Dory and Jess were great at communicating with us to understand what our priorities were and were completely flexible to our needs. The ladies brought energy and fun to our big wedding party and made sure to catch fun moments in both the bridal and groomsmen suites ahead of time. She and her wonderful assistant Jennifer managed to capture every special moment with grace, humor, creativity, and a steadiness that was truly extraordinary. Dory is THE.BEST.EVER! Ok, hopefully that grabbed your attention. Seriously, there are not enough adjectives to describe how amazing she is. This is a long review, but I mean every single word. I live in MA but was getting married in Maine so I knew I had to do my due diligence in researching vendors as odds were it would be difficult to meet with everyone. Photographers were #1 on my list. There were many great portfolios I saw, but none were really wow-ing me. Then, I got to Dory's website and I was nothing short of blown away. The images that she and her second shooter Jess were able to capture were absolutely gorgeous. Somehow, she was able to capture pure emotion in an image. What solidified it for me was reading more about her when she said that her favorite shot is the one taken right after the posed shot. The candids... the candids were amazing! When I first called Dory, I felt we were instantly best friends. I found myself so comfortable with her in that first phone call that I booked with her right then and there (even though I had 3 other photographers on my list to call). I knew just from her personality that she would be the perfect fit. We met on a cold, sleet filled day in Maine to scout out potential first look sites at our venue. Dory was such a trooper, climbing rocks all while laughing at what a ridiculous day it was outside! I knew right then that I had made the right choice. My husband is extremely camera shy (we have about 3 pictures of us in our whole relationship!). This was a major concern for me as having beautiful pictures was so important, but that last thing I wanted was for him to feel uncomfortable on our wedding day. Dory and Jess managed to capture so many stunning (and to be honest, hilarious) pictures of us, that my husband actually started picking out spots himself to take pictures. Dory and Jess made our wedding. Not just with beautiful images, but with their personalities. I instantly felt like they fit right in with my girls. They were up for anything from laying on the ground with us hovering over them to cleaning off the ceiling after we were spraying champagne all over the place (these pictures were AMAZING and I highly recommend spraying champagne with your girls before the wedding!). They had so many awesome ideas for pictures that I will now treasure forever. They were so flexible and up for anything we wanted to do. The best part is, Dory is just an awesome person. Her skills are amazing, but when you're going to have someone by your side for 10 hours, you better like them! I miss e-mailing and talking to her all the time, I truly felt like I made new friend. She made me feel so beautiful on my wedding day and even played therapist a time or two when there were a few hiccups during the day. She was my rock that day and the images she got were breathtaking. I have not stopped hearing from my family and friends on how gorgeous the pictures are. She truly captured the pure emotions of that day (with some shenanigans mixed in!). I honestly wish I lived in Maine so we could just go hang out on the weekends! I will forever treasure our pictures and the memory of how amazing Dory and Jess were will last a lifetime. I strongly encourage you to book with her, it will be the best decision you make for your wedding.

Dory Diaz. Where do I begin? After getting engaged, the first person I called was Dory to secure her as our photographer. We had previously met Dory at our friends’ wedding that she photographed and after seeing their shots, it was literally a no brainer. I was practically sprinting to get a hold of her and didn’t bother wasting my time exploring other options. Dory’s photography style is just fantastic, she really knows how to capture an authentic feeling in the most natural way. No awkward prom style photos here. Every photo she captures and edits is absolutely stunning. On top of delivering A++ work, Dory’s positive energy is another reason to book her. The big day can feel overwhelming and stressful but Dory’s presence was calming. It honestly felt like one of my oldest girlfriends was present to help me get ready to walk down the aisle. Dory’s commitment to customer service cannot be found elsewhere. It is such a priority for Dory to really get to know the bride and groom, to understand their vision and style and deliver accordingly. She drove nearly 4 hours one way to photograph my wedding — talk about a commitment! It wouldn’t be fair to mention how much I love Dory without mentioning her second shooter, Jess. Another gem, with a really great eye, attention to detail and a killer personality. She had us laughing for days. If I could get married every year and hire Dory (and Jess), I would. Do yourself a favor and just book her, you won’t be disappointed.

Stop researching now and just book Dory, you’ll be glad you did! We were so lucky to have Dory photograph our wedding! She made us feel comfortable from the first phone call right through our wedding day. Her creative eye is spot on. She was able to deliver photos in the style we had wanted. Dory was also always in the right spot at the right time- capturing all of our moments, smiles and laughter. Dory fit our budget, personalities and style. I am so grateful to all the brides who wrote such glowing reviews of Dory, because working with her was one of our best vendor decisions. Planning a wedding is a lot of work (amiright?!), and you want all that effort to result in the day you imagined - that’s a lot of pressure! Dory’s shining positivity and can-do attitude made me feel comforted and reassured that everything was going to be amazing. She told me I looked beautiful when my nephew cried because I was in hair rollers (ha!), she laid on the ground to get the perfect shot, she made silly noises to make my niece and nephew smile, and I even heard she waved a boat away right before our ceremony! And Jess is a fun ball of energy that added levity and excitement to the day. Because of Dory, Jess, and our day-of wedding coordinator, I really felt able to relax and just enjoy myself - what a gift! Dory is obviously experienced and does a lot of weddings, but she made our day together feel unique and personal. She took time before the wedding to get to know us through phone calls and surveys, and she even memorized our wedding party’s names before arriving at the venue! I think these gestures really helped us feel more comfortable so Dory and Jess were able to capture our candid moments. And her photos are truly beautiful. I went with Dory because I prefer candids to staged photos, and that seems to be her special sauce. Her and Jess played with light and were creative with their surroundings, and I love the shots we’ve seen so far! Dory is just a genuinely kind and positive person, and she is a pleasure to be around. Dory and Jess are an amazing team and the best photographers you could ever ask for. They both immediately felt like family. Through all the chaos of a wedding you want these women at your side. They made sure above and beyond that I was happy, comfortable and informed of events throughout the day. I was extremely impressed with how in tune they were with my husband as well. My husband is not used to being in the spotlight and they made sure he felt as comfortable as possible. I will forever cherish all of their amazing photographs that they captured on our wedding day.

Dory is such a wonderful wedding photographer! She makes everything so easy and comfortable. We had her do our engagement photos as well which turned out amazing. She was great at communicating before the event and helping schedule out the day. I have only good things to say about Dory and her assistant. They are very dedicated and their focus is on not only taking exceptional pictures but also contributing to making the wedding experience better. For instance, my best man, Dory's assistant Jess, and I were driving in my car to the venue when I wanted to make sure my car was clean so I stopped at a carwash. We wound up needing to use the manual wash (where you spray and wash your car by hand). Jess insisted that she be the one to wash it so that my best man and I didn't mess up our suits. That kind of dedication is rare and shows their focus on a wonderful experience. Dory is never satisfied with doing the minimum, rather, she is always trying new styles while still having the experience of years of photography to make every picture worthy of a frame. Dory was the wedding photographer for the daughter of a friend. She took many 'morning of ' photos at my house. Arrived early, friendly and work tirelessly throughout the morning!! The pictures were fabulous!!!
