I chose Dick & Jane because of their 5-star rating and the fact that they are a local Minneapolis business. Initially, I was pleased with their service- I felt that they were frien...
dly and knew what I had in mind for invites.
All would have gone smoothly if there had not been so many COMMUNICATION issues. After pre-paying, I could not get ahold of them for weeks. E-mails and voicemails went unnoticed and were not returned. Finally, we drove to their shop and he seemed to have no memory of my order...
He did quickly make a proof for my review, though it did not resemble what we had discussed. Given the time crunch, proofs were frantically sent back and forth. The finished product went out on time, but I ended up settling for an invite I was not thrilled about.
Overall, the experience was stressful and I would have been better off making the invites via Minted or Shutterfly.
I cannot say enough good things about Brian here at Dick and Jane letterpress. He got our save the dates done quickly, and then recut them for us after I had accidentally told him ...
the wrong size. They turned out beautifully! We are so excited for everyone to receive these. We will definitely becoming back for invites, thank you cards, etc.
As a graphic designer who designs many custom wedding invites - I can say their work is truly beautiful! However, customer service is to be desired. I could not get them to return...
my phone calls, and could only get a response via email . There also was a lot of back and forth changes with set up, almost as if like I was talking to multiple people. After multiple attempts to finalize my project and being pushed back further in time I finally resorted to another printer! Not sure if they were extremely busy or what but it put me behind with my client as well.
We were immediately impressed with Brian's work at Dick & Jane Letterpress. He was flexible with our budget and helped us with creative aspects of our wedding stationary. Overall, ...
we were very pleased with the design and quality of our letterpress wedding invitations, RSVP cards, table numbers, and escort cards.
However, I took away one star because many of the letterpress invitations and RSVP cards varied drastically in color. I do not know much about the letterpress process, but my guess for why this would have happened is that Brian ran low on ink at times when creating our stationary. Only some of the font was unreadable, but most of the stationary still looked great.
My wife and I were excited to find a local vendor who could create custom letterpressed invitations for our September wedding in St. Paul. Brian at Dick & Jane Letterpress is an i...
ncredibly talented designer and artist who took the time to understand our vision for our wedding. He translated that understanding into a beautiful invitation suite (including RSVP card and “tidbit” card) that our guests raved about. We loved the design so much that it inspired many other pieces of our big day.
Besides creating a spectacular invite suite, Brian was very easy to work with and receptive to our feedback. He responded promptly to emails and phone calls. He was even able to have programs and menus printed for us on very short notice, using the original design from the invitations.
Letterpressed invitations are not cheap, but Dick & Jane helped us to work within our budget in order to create something that we will cherish forever. We highly recommend Dick & Jane Letterpress.
Dick and Jane was really responsive to our quick timeline. Folks love our save the dates and invites and more importantly I love them! They do great work, have very reasonable rate...
s and tun out a beautiful, handmade product.
I was planning to design some simple invitations and find my own printer to print them, but I actually did a quick search for local letterpress studios and Dick and Jane popped up....
After taking a quick look at their website, I scheduled a visit to their studio. I had emailed them an Illustrator file of my invite design and they had made a couple of good tweaks to the spacing and layout that would look better letterpresses. They also design invites and I was definitely impressed with their designs. They showed me how a letterpress works (so cool!) as well as some invitations from past customers. We talked about paper and color and they were really great with recommendations without trying to sell me on the most expensive. They finished my 250 invites (and RSVP cards) in about 3 weeks and I was super impressed with the quality. I thought about ordering invites online, but I'm so glad I could work with great people, support a local business, and have invitations that didn't look like everyone else's.
I can't say enough good things about Dick and Jane Letterpress. They did our save the dates and our invitations and both turned out beautifully and right in our budget (and we were...
on a budget!). They were very flexible and worked with us to get the cards just right. We had a few ideas about what we wanted, and Brian was able to turn our vague ideas into a beautiful design. If you're looking for letterpress invites - look no further!
Sooo happy I chose to go with this company for my invites! They were so classy and exactly matched my vision, within my budget. Everyone raved about them! :)
This was such a great experience. We were trying to find good quality invites but not with the expensive price tag. We got our idea from the MN Bride magazine and asked to do a W...
ild theme. Brian was excited to work with our idea and asked for our feedback. If there was something we wanted or didn't want he accomodated to it. Our guests were impressed with our invites.
I was so, so, so thrilled with my invitations from Dick and Janes. I had so many compliments from guests on my unique letterpress invitations and they are still one of my favorite ...
pieces to my wedding. I had a short engagement and needed quick turn around on these. I hit him during a busy time, and he was able to deliver! He stayed late at the shop one night with his son so I could pick up the invites after being stuck in traffic. He was great to work with, I would highly recommend!! You won't find a better price on letterpress in the Twin Cities either :)
I got a recommendation from a friend, and loved working with Dick and Jane Letterpress!!!! The invitations were gorgeous, it was easy, they were faster than expected and we later r...
ealized that the price was about what we would have spent making copies on cardstock at Kinkos. Amazing value! We got invitations, place cards, thank you, RSVP cards, and letterpressed envelopes.
