We worked with Joanna to DJ our wedding. She was hands down my favorite vendor to work with. Professional, Friendly, Knowledgeable, Accommodating, Responsive, Structured, and Collaborative begin the scratch the services that she and Trevor(Lights) offered. Meeting with Joanna leading up to our wedding was always a weight off our shoulders. From our first meeting to discuss what she needed, and her typical framework that she would work with clients. To our last minute meetings for song requests, and coordinating with other vendors. Joanna provided us a rough timeline, as well as suggestions for activities to make our dreams become concrete plans. Although knowledgeable and structured, Joanna always deferred to us as the couple getting married. She never pushed any ideas of her ideas over our own, and she bent over backwards to accommodate us.

Hire Joanna ("DJ JR") as your DJ!! After a few meetings with other DJs, we were starting to feel that we just weren't going to "click" with anyone. But our friend recommended DJ JR for our wedding and we are so happy she did! Immediately upon meeting, Joanna was kind, professional, and felt like a friend. It was clearly important to Joanna that she was going to take the time to get to know us and it was more than just a gig. She set up meetings to make sure she understood the vibe we were going for and was ready to guide us when we were feeling unsure. I had a large range of ages at our wedding, and we had expected the mostly-30 year olds to be on the dance floor - wrong! Joanna kept the vibes going all night long, so the 9 year olds & retirees were dancing with the rest of us too! She was also very attentive to detail, so it was a gift not needing to worry if she would "get it right" or show up on time. Professional to a T! What really stood out as the cherry on it all was that Joanna sent me a Google album of photos and videos she had taken during the night. We didn't hire a videographer, so at the end of it all I found myself thinking, "Gosh, I hope someone caught that moment." Joanna did! She is the best and very thoughtful.

DJ Jason was on time and did a good job setting up the sound system in both locations, which can take some good coordination especially for a Maine island wedding. While they did a decent job listening to our song recommendations for what to play and not to play, there seemed to be a lapse in communication on their end. We had multiple calls with them to go over what we expected from our wedding DJ so we felt like we were on the same page, but there was a bit of a different story on the day of. He assured us they didn't really use sound effects during songs, yet he was using sirens and firework sounds as "flair" in almost every song. We double-confirmed songs would be played out in full and have minimal mixing for transitions between songs, yet he would cut songs out for "room to sing" and threw in "record scratches" between songs. It's easy to critique the small things, but luckily the important moments happened the way we wanted and we could've had a much worse experience. Unfortunately, the lack of communication sort of marred our experience.

We hired Joanna to be our officiant and DJ at our wedding after witnessing her work at a family member's wedding. We were absolutely blown away by the level of care and consideration she gave us at every step of the process. As an officiant, she offered some suggested scripts based on what we wanted out of our ceremony, and she rehearsed them in advance of the wedding. As a DJ, she made us several Spotify playlists for each stage of the evening based on a genre or mood we asked for, reviewed them, and made sure that the energy really flowed from one song to the next. Her selections absolutely hit the mark. Joanna really made us feel like we were her top priority and she was an absolute joy to plan the wedding with. We wanted a playful vibe and she had some great suggestions for how to achieve it, and we were rewarded by our guests laughing and enjoying themselves as a result. She and her husband Trevor (her sound engineer) were consummate professionals the whole way through, and they made our wedding very memorable. I can't thank them enough!!

We are beyond grateful to have had the honor of DJJRGOAT from deepDJME bring life to our wedding. As someone who does not typically enjoy dancing, I couldn’t help myself and they had me dancing by the end of the night. Joanna stepped in and helped start the party on the dance floor. Joanna and Trevor were an absolute blast and much of our guests had voiced how amazing their DJ services were. We are sooo happy to have had them as part of our special day and cannot thank them enough. We highly highly recommend deepDJME! Thank you both so much.

10/10 stars for Direct Effect!! We had @dj-jr at our wedding this past weekend and she killed it!! My guests have not stopped talking about how awesome the music was and how friendly Joanna and Trevor were. AWESOME communication, took all requests, and was super friendly to have at our wedding. The dj can make or break a wedding and they seriously made it incredible. I don’t think we ever left the dance floor!! Joanna also took it upon her self to take so many pictures and videos for us! Which was not in her job description but was so appreciated!!

We worked with Corey on our wedding day, and he was phenomenal. From his attention to detail and his emotional investment in how music can have a huge impact on the day, we connected instantly. He has extensive experience with weddings, and he continually takes classes on reading people and a crowd to keep the wedding on a good note. He came prepared and was an amazing addition to our wedding vendor team. I highly recommend him for your wedding! You won't be disappointed.

I got married at Salt Water Fields Venue in South Thomaston Maine. DEEP DJ was listed as a recommended vendor for a DJ. I reached out asking for more information and heard back within minutes. We said up a zoom call where I met Corey and his team. Joanna and her husband, Trevor were the DJ's for our event. We had multiple zoom calls to talk about the timeline, style, preferences and Joanna had me and my fiance smiling and laughing throughout our calls. Joanna was so patient and so organized. It was incredibly helpful. When the wedding day came, Joanna made it so easy for me and my husband to just mingle and dance! Her professionalism is unmatched. Our guests danced all night, seriously. So many of my guests complimented that the music slapped and was a huge hit by all ages. If I had to go back in time, I would change nothing at all. It was perfect. I thank them for their expertise! Hopefully we can use them again for another event in the future but until then, I will recommend all my family members/friends/aquaintences to find DEEP DJ and request Joanna and Trevor for their weddings or future events! I was referred by a coworker to use Corey Smith's company Direct Effect Entertainment Productions as our wedding DJ! It was one of the best decisions my fiancé and I made in regards to our wedding planning! From our first zoom meeting through the entire process Corey was transparent, informative and extremely helpful! Corey connected us with our fabulous DJ of the night DJJRGoat the AMAZING Joanna! When Ryan and I met her through zoom for the first time we knew she was a perfect match and was meant to be our DJ for our big day/night! We instantly clicked! Joanna was fun, spirited, professional and caring! She had us and our friends and family dancing and having fun all day/night! She always made sure that the bride and groom were happy and kept in the loop. She truly did the most amazing job and I will refer her to everyone! We hired direct effect for our wedding on September 24th, after hunting for a DJ. DJ Chris was amazing! He played exactly what we wanted, and even sent us a prerecording of the introductions! Chris and Corey worked with us take sure our night went smoothly. Would hire again!

We had the best wedding, thanks to DJ Jason. He made it fun for all ages and kept good energy throughout the night. Corey and Jason worked with us to craft the perfect playlist and even helped us to plan the order of events at the reception. They honestly saved me from so much stress! I felt like I could fully enjoy my wedding thanks to how professional and organized everything was.

My wife and I hired another DJ for our wedding. Due to unforeseen circumstances, they had to back out just months before our wedding. They suggested Corey and Direct Effect Entertainment Productions with a glowing recommendation. After the first communication with Corey, I could see why he came with such high praise. Corey is one of the most professional entertainment specialists I have ever met. He genuinely cared about my situation and spoke as if I was his highest priority and only focus. His organization was astounding, including multiple documents that helped my wife and I plan out our music for the evening. We had a delightful zoom call with Corey and his right hand man, Chris, who would be DJing our event. Chris was just as charming as Corey and was incredible to work with as well. He understood perfectly what needed to be done day of, and even surprised me by already having answers to questions I had. His performance went off without a hitch and had the music pumping all the way through the night. It included all of our favorites and then some. All in all, this company is the way to go if you are looking for a top tier DJ service. I thank them immensely for delivering such a wonderful experience throughout the process and for truly making our wedding day simply magical.

Corey was absolutely amazing! He kept our wedding guests going all night and played a wide array of music. He was great to work with leading up to the wedding; met us for dinner a couple of times to go over details. We really couldn’t have asked for a better day! Corey was so organized and we highly recommend him!

DEEP was awesome! Corey was fun, professional and knew how to get the crowd going. We had a super fun dance party because of Corey's legit beats! I would recommend DEEp for ANY party or event.

We used them for our wedding ceremony and reception, Corey did an amazing job picking out the songs for the reception and did a wonderful job ensuring all went right for the songs we picked out for the ceremony. We really enjoyed ourselves and danced the rest of the night.

We went to Corey Smith through a referral - DEEP is his DJ business. Corey was amazing - we wanted a dance type atmosphere and he definitely brought it. People danced all night and he didn't skip a beat. So many people have complemented us on Corey since our wedding - I would recommend him in a second! Very easy to work with and super accommodating to anything we requested. A DJ can make or break any wedding - Corey will definitely make it!
