Direct Light Studios is a wedding videography company based in Folsom, CA. Owners Laura and Dakin Chamberlain are a married duo whose love for filming is eclipsed only by their love for each other. Putting their shared passion into their craft allows them to dedicate themselves to their clients and their momentous day.
Laura and Dakin met in 2012 when filming their first wedding together. It was soon obvious that making amazing films as a team was what they were meant to do. They combine their individual strengths to create wedding videos that resonate with couples and that share their one-of-a-kind love stories.
Direct Light Studios draws inspiration from each couple that they work with. Laura and Dakin will focus on the intricate details and real moments of your wedding day for your video. They use artistic and modern filming styles to create a film that captures all of the emotions experienced at your wedding.
These videographers are happy to be a part of any aspect of your wedding journey. From engagements to rehearsals, ceremonies, receptions, and more, Laura and Dakin can assist. They are also available to film elopements and destination weddings. Direct Light Studios can provide both full-length and highlight videos of events. You’ll receive your wedding film as a digital file and will be able to share your video on social media.

ruly listened to the vision we had in mind. We wanted a video that wasn’t just a montage of the two of us, but captured the love and feeling of our friends and family throughout the day. Boy, did they deliver. Laura and Dakin worked seamlessly with the rest of our vendors and captured everything we wanted and more. Their talent and professionalism is unmatched. Communication was easy (hard to find in vendors!!) Their presence day-of was unobtrusive yet comforting, allowing us to just be ourselves and not have to feel awkward in front of the camera. f the country!! During preparation for both weddings (2years apart) ,Laura and Dakin were always available for questions we all had. They were several days early to both weddings- securing their own transportation and accommodations- to scope out the areas and be prepared for amazing footage and drone footage. Landmarks, architecture and customs as well as capturing intimate and special moments of the bride and groom made the entire videos special and unique. If anything, it really showed us that they cared about what we are looking for and what we needed. On the day of the wedding, they were in the background mostly, but present to capture every moment. Something that was important to us was that the videographers were able to capture the wedding without clashing with the photographers, and Laura and Dakin were just so professional the entire day. Not only did they create beautiful videos for us that we will cherish forever, they went above and beyond to make ours perfect. Our officiant mispronounced our last name when presenting us as husband and wife. We of course saw this on our film and asked them if it was possible to cut it out completely. After they reviewed the footage to see if it was possible, they came back and told us that they could do better. They offered to have the officiant rerecord our introduction and edited it in. We were thrilled and could not believe they would do all of that for us! I cannot recommend them enough. A Direct Light Studios wedding video is absolutely the best investment you will make for your wedding day.

I was on the fence hiring a videographer, but I really wanted someone to record the ceremony & toasts (especially because my brother was the officiant and we made our ceremony very personal). After going down a 5 hour rabbit hole of watching kind of cheesy portfolio videos, I stumbled upon Direct Light Studios. Their style was exactly what I wanted - something that captured the people, energy and emotions of the day. In hindsight - I wouldn't have given hiring them a second thought! Our video is amazing - even the friends we shared it with said it made them teary eyed. The edits were incredible - the story they crafted with the highlight is how I want to remember the day.
