Hoped to have the experience of many of these 5 star reviews, which I read before booking. In our experience, D.B Band fumbled the ball in their ability to execute on areas promise...
d. Sharing so future brides/grooms can consider our feedback when deciding if they are right for your wedding, as music is such a critical piece of your party. The lead coordinator was transparent that their focus was Classic Rock and we knew that going in, although their listing advertised other genres and their list included many of the classics we wanted included. We shared a list of must plays which the band said would be no issue to play live and we were therefore comfortable letting them handle the rest. We were explicit with our vision via phone calls, emails and one in person meeting with the lead coordinator, who assured us he understood the assignment. To our disappointment, while the band is talented, they fully played “their show” and did not fulfill our wishes at all. It was to the point that about an hour into the reception, we began going up numerous times, requesting they shift to our discussed song list and we had to eventually involve our wedding planner who brought her phone to show the email of the band agreeing to another playlist. It was an unfortunate speed bump in our otherwise amazing night. We knew our crowd well and as we assumed it would be, our dance floor was impacted and many guests enjoyed other areas of the venue instead of our dance floor which really bummed us out. We did have a 30 min DJ set and after my coordinators involvement, the band shifted to a few of our requested songs which got the party started again. Sadly, all of the lulls on the floor were during the bands performance. Multiple songs from our agreed upon list where never played and in the end, we really wished we had hired a DJ or a more iconic band, perhaps even run by an agency to ensure our wishes and vision would have been prioritized. We felt compelled to reach out to the band after the event to which they admitted to having brought in a replacement band member who did not know our songs and showing up unrehearsed. We were honestly floored, as we spent nearly 6 figures on our wedding and were insulted that the band would essentially “wing it” on our wedding night. We requested some level of compensation to which the band refused and gave us back our tip (small amount included in prepayment, as we tip after events) and suggested we should be more understanding “especially as Christians”. In a business contract, that’s not an appropriate suggestion ever. We should have been informed of the impact this change would have on the event or they should have hired a suitable replacement. D.B was more affordable (we still spent thousands more than on a DJ), and MC services were great. While we enjoyed the planning experience, I hesitate to highly rate it considering how flat the execution fell night of. In hindsight, we would have used a DJ or hired an agency for more money where we could trust our wishes to be honored.
The absolute best vendor we hired for our wedding - from start to finish, Kurt and his team handled our every request and learned a bunch of new songs to fit our every whim, even S...
ledgehammer by Peter Gabriel, the best! We got to perform with them on stage for our first dance and it was a BLAST. Our guests never left the dance floor. You will not regret hiring them!

In scoping out live wedding bands in the San Diego area, Dirty Bird was actually one of the lowest cost, and THE highest rated. Kurt was incredible to work with, and was very accommodating. He would respond to my emails timely and made the planning process very easy. He even helped me out at the very end when things got crazy by running our ceremony soundboard and creating a custom playlist for the ceremony (I sent him a list of songs and he did the rest!).
We were able to go through their song list and circle "Definitely Plays," and cross out "Do Not Plays." Plus, they learned our first dance song (that was not on their list) and played it live. They were able to incorporate a few other songs we requested that were not on their playlist during their break.
The reception was SO fun. The band was awesome! Many of my guests are still talking about how amazing our band was! No regrets on hiring Dirty Bird.

I was having a hard time focusing on greeting guests because I just wanted to keep dancing! The band is extremely talented and kept our wedding guest entertained. He was an excellent MC and kept the energy going well.

about working with them was perfect, Kurt was super responsive and easy to work with - even meeting us at the venue to go over setup etc. I am so happy we were able to have them as our wedding band, they were so great at both the ceremony music AND the reception, and made the reception flow so nicely - as well as playing great music! I don't think anyone was sitting once they started to play, everyone was out on the dance floor. Highly recommend them, they will make your wedding so much fun!

we this to Kurt and the Dirty Bird band! From start to finish they were a treat to deal with, set up was on time and efficient, the ceremony and cocktail music spot on (they even played classical for us during the ceremony) and the party, well the dancing guests spoke for themselves. I highly recommend this band, great quality music, great guys and affordable price! Thanks!

very responsive, and very professional. Everyone at our wedding danced all night long because it felt like a real concert, and it was. They played familiar, upbeat classic rock that appealed to all ages and had my 16 year old brother dancing with my 74 year old grandmother. Everyone who attended the wedding loved the band and still talk about them 3.5 years later. Dirty Bird provided an atmosphere no Dj could ever hope to create. They are a no brainer if you are considering hiring a band for your wedding.

, to setting everything up in an unfamiliar setting. I didn't have to worry about a thing. The set-up was perfect and it didn't take long for the party to get started once we arrived at the reception. Dirty Bird Band played all the songs we wanted - they had all of our guests dancing the night away. Guests of all ages stayed on the dance floor until the late hours of the evening and everyone continued talking about how fun the wedding was - the music, the dancing - the next day. My husband and I like a good party, and Dirty Bird Band provided just that for our Big Day. This band has definitely built a reputation for themselves and I would (and have) recommended them to EVERY bride and groom looking for live music for their wedding.

ce I actually had a fiance I decided it was time to get in touch with Dirty Bird to see if my dream of having them play at our wedding was even a possiblity. So I met with Kurt, the drummer, for coffee and it seemed like it was all going to come together. I was so excited to take my fiance, friends and family to one of their concerts at The Belly Up for a "preview" and everyone loved them! Dirty Bird is the band that gets everyone out on the dance floor. If you want a band that ROCKS THE HOUSE...Dirty Bird is your band!
