We had our wedding at Hotel Monaco this fall. I would first like to state that Dirty Habit is completely different management than Hotel Monaco and this review has absolutely nothing to do with them.
Please also note, the coordinator that is mentioned in the other reviews, Emani, was a ROCKSTAR. She no longer works at Dirty Habit as of Fall 2021, which is unfortunate for them
Having the after-party at Dirty Habit was challenging at best and was the only regret of our wedding. Communication was poor and the staff was underwhelming. The food is fabulous and that's the only positive!

The food is not seasoned. I ordered a steak medium well and I received a burnt hockey puck. It was Grey in the middle and I couldn’t eat it. I never send food back but did this time. I was met with a bit of attitude for my request, but they comped the steak and brought out a new one. This steak was more like rare or medium rare at best. It was pretty bloody. It wasn’t even seasoned. I didn’t say anything else, and just focused on my sides which were also not good. My fiancé didn’t eat his food and said that it was seasoned and tasted terrible. Maybe they need a meat thermometer and some seasoning to use? I applaud them for trying by sending a new steak, but it still wasn’t good.

We are not the average couple and were looking for a non-traditional yet elegant venue. This was it! Our guests literally loved every moment of the event. We held both our ceremony and reception here. Coincidentally, it was the day of the world series parade so we had to combat noise during our ceremony. I've visited the venue on plenty of other occasions and know thats not the norm. If I could do it over, I would have made sure to have a microphone so that guests could hear everything. I loved how our reception looked and our cocktail hour was a huge hit. Our guests are still talking about it. If you use the glass house, also be sure to have a backdrop to give yourself privacy. Emani was super accommodating and transparent the whole way through. I feel like every dime we sent was worth it and more. This place is one of DC's best kept secrets for sure.

Dirty Habit was a great place to hold the after party for our recent wedding. The staff was extremely accommodating and friendly to work with. They helped us craft a late night menu that met our guests needs, including providing some off-menu items. They also were incredibly flexible in working with us due to the weather and helping us make sure we stayed well within our budget. The location also can't be beat. It was easily accessible for all our guests who were coming in from out of town or staying in the city. We would highly recommend Dirty Habit for future private events!

I hosted my wedding reception at dirty habit in September of 2018 and everyday since then I wish I could relive that phenomenal night. My husband and I were looking for a venue with the right look and feel that best expressed us. Enter: Dirty Habit. The restaurant and courtyard are unlike anything we’ve seen in DC. The glass house and courtyard both had the sexy, city chic vibe we were looking for. I was also searching for a venue in which I didn’t have to spend too much time decorating (I’m a lazy bride) and this place was perfect because it’s already beautifully decorated; all I did was add some personal embellishments (flowers, signs, guestbook, photos, etc). Emani, the event coordinator, is heaven sent. Both my husband and I are convinced that our reception would not have been such a success if it wasn’t for her. She is exceptional at her job, responding to us promptly, offering suggestions that helped keep us within our budget and vision. My guests were wowed with the venue; I literally had guests stop me during the reception to tell me the venue, the food and the DJ (I’ll review him in another post) were the best they’ve ever experienced. Emani allowed us to rename some of their delicious cocktails to personalize them for our special night. The cocktails were delicious; my friends who don’t usually drink cocktails wouldn’t stop raving about them. Since I was too busy having fun, I didn’t get a chance to try the dinner but I was told by my guests that the food was superb. We opted for the meat carving station (sirloin and lamb), glass noodle station and pasta station. We had about 110 guests and there was more than enough food for all. We also did passed apps in the beginning, which I did try a few and loved (steak frites, summer roll, falafel). Oh I must mention their truffle fries are heaven on earth, and we added those to our buffet (you’re a fool if you don’t). I probably could’ve eaten my body weight in those truffle friends but I still had to fit into my dress. If you’re looking for a modern, chic venue with amazing drinks, food management please please please make an appointment with Emani, it will be the best decision you’ve ever made :)
