Our experience with Kevin was amazing from the initial discussions to the day itself. Communication was prompt and helpful. Music selection was simple, and the music used day-of was great. There were a few minor hiccups, but overall, we feel that Kevin really made the day what it was. We had a small wedding and had concerns about the dancing feeling awkward. However, this wasn't the case. Kevin's mixing really kept the energy high even towards the end of the night. Kevin was also great about directing the guests' attention to key events, calling guests to move towards the reception area after cocktail hour, announcing cake cutting, speeches, and our first dance. We highly recommend Disco Royale.

Kevin is a master at his craft! He was easy to work with before, during, and after the event. He did a great job reading our audience and adapting the playlist during our wedding. We loved working with Kevin so much that we invited him to DJ the Prom for the school I work with… and that was a blast too!

I hired Disco Royale for a theme party for the Talking Heads 40th Anniversary of the Stop Making Sense Film on Maui. Kevin was AMAZING to say the very least! He flew from Seattle and was on time, took care of procuring the equipment from a local vendor here on island, got all the set up done (including a digital projector and screen outdoors to show the film, which was a challenge due to wind gusts and some early rain squalls), and played music which complemented the film plus a lot of other great dance tunes. He fielded requests by many of the 50 guests and had the party going into the late hours. After the sun went down we danced and danced under a bright full moon. Everyone had such a great time! Kevin's MC expertise was also helpful as I had him conduct a trivia contest. Kevin was affable and knowledgable about all types of music in addition to the must-plays I gave him. The BEST DJ I have ever hired, hands down. 5 STARS, but I would love to give him more!

Kevin was super easy to work with as a DJ for our wedding. He has a huge selection of music, but also offers very helpful guidance based on his many years of experience. We really appreciated how much he listened to us and worked with us to curate the perfect playlist for the evening.

Kevin absolutely blew me away with his professionalism, attention to detail, and flawless execution of our vision for our wedding. We had a very specific musical taste, which required him playing almost no traditional wedding music, and he absolutely crushed it all day long. He kept the energy level at 10 the entire wedding, and we were truly blown away. His lighting set up, sound system, mixing abilities, microphone set up for the ceremony, and everything else were absolutely spot on. He even provide a detailed playlist after the wedding, and purchased countless songs for us. I can not recommend Kevin enough, he will not let you down!

We loved working with Kevin/ Disco Royale. Our wedding planner introduced us to Kevin as we were looking for someone who had experience with Jewish weddings, was within budget, and paid for all of the music he played. No streaming. This was important to us because we wanted to make sure artists are compensated for their work, and by purchasing the music this ensured there was no hiccups due to lost of connection. We highly recommend Kevin. He understood our needs, was excited about our venue, answered all questions super quick, and helped create a great edit to the song I wanted to walk down the aisle to. Kevin has a very detailed questionnaire to help determine what type of music to play. We enjoyed this process and believe he nailed the music at our wedding. Kevin showed up early, entertained guests throughout the night, respected the venue staff, and was able to respectfully honor our cultural traditions throughout the day. He was the perfect DJ for our wedding!

When it was asked, "would you reccomend Kevin to a friend?" I found it funny, because I already had. He is lined up to a great friend of mine's wedding. He did my wedding, and he is amazing, I could not reccomend enough and the proof is there, He is doing my friends wedding too. We loved Kevin, and he is an incredible option that is affordable without sacrificing anything.

Kevin was the DJ for our wedding last weekend and he was phenomenal. Incredibly communicative in the time leading up to the wedding, checked in the days before, arrived right on time day of, and quickly got set up. We gave him a large library of tunes we wanted to hear, and he sprinkled in a few other crowd pleasers as well. He made for a successful event!

Kevin did an amazing job during our wedding in November, my wife and I were super blessed to have him. He was flexible with us, met with us to run our ideas, played the specific music we wanted, and played music from the genres we chose. Kevin Olson is everything you want in a DJ - flexible, efficient, and reasonably priced. He incorporated all of our notes & customized a playlist based on our request. As a bonus, he even turned the playlist into a CD at no extra charge, which was a pleasant surprise. We really enjoyed working with Kevin for all of our sound services for our wedding. He provided our music at our outdoor venue for the ceremony, brought the reception indoors, and we also utilized his photo booth services as well! From the early planning stages, my musically inclined husband sent an entire spreadsheet of music we wanted throughout the day, Kevin understood our style and the type of reception we wanted. He was great with the timeline of events, was spot on with the mic and music for every element (couple introduction, multiple speeches, first dance, cake cutting, etc), and played songs that kept our group dancing until the 11pm cutoff at our venue. We danced so much, our friends and family literally broke the dance floor in half! We were so happy we partnered with Kevin to keep our day rocking. The photo booth was a last minute add for us, and we weren’t sure we wanted to spend the money, but we’re so glad we did. We ended up making this a focal point: it was super fun for guests to pose with props during the cocktail hour and beyond, we used the photo strips as our guest book, and gave out magnetic photo holders as gifts. All of our guests had a personal keepsake to commemorate our day! His wife Lorie ran the show: the photos were high quality and printed fast, she made sure everyone had fun and added to the photo book, and they worked with us on the photo background design, fun props, and the backdrop. It was an absolute pleasure working with Kevin for both the music and photobooth of our wedding. Kevin is not only quick to respond to emails but also extremely detail-oriented. Although I had picked all of my music for the wedding, he had put all the songs together for the different portion s of our wedding seamlessly and really knew how to get the party going. The photobooth was also lovely as we got to customize design the photo template. Kevin of Disco Royale was amazing in everyway. We hired Kevin for our daughter's Bat Mitzvah party based on a friend's recommendation. From the start he was easy to work with and patient with our requests and last minute changes. Both the kids and the adults had an amazing time! Nobody wanted to stop the party, including Kevin! Highest recommendations to Disco Royale! I find myself talking about Kevin and his excellent work each time I bring up my wedding. Kevin provided so much more than music and lighting - he offered peace of mind and professionalism that was invaluable when working with wedding vendors. For our very first meeting, Kevin arrived early to our appointment, he came prepared with paper copies and digital copies of contracts, and was extremely easy to communicate with. He walked me thru a general plan for music and lighting based on our venue space, and let me know that as I knew more specifics we could be in touch. As we approached the wedding, my fiancee and I were able to map out our music requests on Kevin’s well-organized forms. Kevin has pre-organized his music into genres, so it was easy to choose favorites and give him an idea of what we wanted. When we had questions, Kevin was an email away and always quick to respond. Day of the wedding: Kevin filled our reception room with music and atmosphere, and all our guests (young and old) said they could still talk at dinner AND hear the music! The music volume was a perfect balance and the lighting was on point - incredible! As an extra bonus, Kevin created a digital copy of our wedding music playlist and sent it to us after the wedding. A great keepsake and a sweet memory. I highly recommend Disco Royale!

Kevin was great to work with. He was very attentive, and did a lot of research to help make our dream a reality. He was honest about his limitations, and took the time to reach out to others who could provide him with assistance. I loved working with him and his wife. They made our day AMAZING. Disco Royale provided such a great service for our October wedding! Kevin and his wife were so great to work with. So professional and organized before hand with an incredible music selection, I didnt have to worry about any songs not being played. He was also willing to get songs that he didnt have to accomodate our ceremony. All of our guests had such a great time dancing and singing, Kevin was an excellent MC. Rainey, Kevin's wife, was pure joy and ran our photobooth (another service they provide) and we had such a great time going through all of our photos after. My husband and I would highly recommend Disco Royale for any of your music or entertainment needs.

Kevin and Lorie did a wonderful job with our wedding in August of 2018. They worked with us to build a wonderful playlist with a few surprises sprinkled in along the way. Our guests were delighted to hear everything from classic songs to the latest pop and everything in between. As challenging as it was Kevin was able to make it flow in a manner that all our guests thoroughly enjoyed. He also was quite the entertainer as he had 100+ people roaring with laughter while we played the "shoe game". Lastly, they just started up with using a photo booth. We were happy to have this option as it helped us consolidate vendors and build a very memorable guest book full of silly pictures of friends and family. I would highly recommend this duo for any of your DJing needs.

Kevin was an amazing DJ! He was very responsive and easy to communicate with leading up to our wedding at SODO Park in Seattle. Everyone at our wedding had a blast celebrating with the music played, as is evident from all the photos we received of people laughing, dancing, singing and having a fantastic time. We provided Kevin with a list of specific songs we wanted, but told him we trusted his ability to read the crowd. Boy did he! We heard the songs we wanted, plus cool remixes and songs we never would have thought of, but were perfect. One of my friends who is also a DJ messaged me weeks later asking for Kevin's contact information, should he ever need to recommend someone. Kevin made our wedding an epic dance party celebration to remember by everyone!!!

I hired Kevin for a big birthday for me. I curated the playlist based on times in my life and even had that list on each table with notations to help my guests know why I chose certain songs. I told him - from the start and thereafter - that I wanted these songs. He never pushed back when I told him this and took the job. Kevin and I went back and forth on the list; my initial one was way too long. He did push back against some songs but I had reasons I wanted them and left them in. I did follow his advice and cut songs and co-joined songs. He had the final list days before the event and indicated he was ready. He never said, "I can't co-join these songs" or that it was too late to change the list. (The contract does NOT specify a time limit for the playlist.) What did he do? He left out about 15 songs. He did not co-join songs as I requested so I could get more favorite songs. He played Don't Stop Believing," and I was upset because 1) it wasn't on my playlist and 2) I do like the song but I believe it is overplayed. I think, for my money, I'm allowed to say no to a song. That was not the only song he played that was not on the list. I had to ask him - twice - to stop playing a song he had started that he picked. Did he segue out of the song to another one that actually was on the list? Nope, twice he let the room go silent and then put on another song. That is really unprofessional on his part and it embarrassed me. Several people asked about it and my coordinator asked me, "What's up with the DJ?" I had a great party,despite the music but I was saddened that I done all this work only to have some of it ignored by Kevin. This was a birthday party and you can always have another birthday party; you can't have another wedding reception. Kevin has taken great offense that I have reviewed his service with a less-than-stellar review. Elsewhere he made fun of my song choices and decried the speeches made. Again, unprofessional and hurtful. Lastly, if control of the music means something to you, then consider that in your pick of a DJ.

Kevin at Disco Royale was absolutely everything we could have asked for in a DJ for our wedding night! We found him through our photographer, who recommended Kevin as a vendor he had worked well with previously. My husband and I were on a tight budget for our wedding and the DJ was one of the last vendors we booked - and if you are planning a wedding you know that a budget can get out of hand quickly. We contemplated not evening having a DJ and letting a friend run a Spotify playlist for the night but decided to reach out to Kevin and a few other DJ's recommended by our photographer to see if any of them would be willing to work with our budget. Kevin was the only one who came back willing to work with us yet he provided everything we could have asked for and more! He was an excellent emcee and kept the night flowing smoothly - something our friend running the Spotify on an iphone would not have been able to do. We met with Kevin before the wedding and explained our vision for the evening and the music we liked. Kevin was very knowledgeable about music and genres and his worksheet that he provided us was quite extensive, allowing him to better understand our style. My husband and I both felt comfortable allowing him to use his knowledge and experience to select music that would keep the party going while staying true to our music tastes. Kevin brought his wife to help who was so friendly and personable. Our wedding guests commented throughout the night how friendly they were and even thought they might be family! We really cannot say enough good things about Kevin, he was professional throughout the whole process and really saved our wedding by allowing us to us a professional to run the sound and emcee the evening. We are thankful that we found Kevin and we would not hesitate to recommend him to our own friends and family - and to you!

Kevin did an amazing job at our wedding this last June in Woodinville. He was super easy to work with, accommodating and a great price. We filled out a music questionnaire that he provided and from that he totally nailed our musical preferences with all of his song picks. He also provided the music for both the ceremony and reception. We had an great time dancing and he helped make it a fun, memorable night for everyone.

This review is long overdue, but I can't let Kevin down any longer. He slayed for us back in May 2015 on Whidbey Island. Long story short, Kevin is reasonably priced and unreasonably skilled. LOCK HIM DOWN FOR YOUR BIG DAY. My then-fiancee and I have divergent music tastes, but Kevin saw beyond our specific requests and totally understood what kind of sound we wanted. Everything he played was a crowd-pleaser, perfectly apropos, from outdoor reception to post-last-dance wind-down. Kevin was also extremely professional, and low-maintenance. He hit all his cues as MC, without us needing to manage him day-of. He knew the gameplan ahead of time because he'd given us simple forms to fill out ahead of time. And the equipment was great.

Kevin was exactly the Dj we were looking for! He has years of experience, knows what he's doing, has great quality equipment and can read a crowd really well. The atmosphere he helped create at our wedding was just perfect; lively and romantic in all the right places. He was the perfect choice and made our wedding special and memorable. Kevin was incredibly nice, professional, and flexible. My husband and I were planning our wedding remotely, and Kevin was very flexible in agreeing to have Skype meetings instead of face-to-face meetings when we couldn't make it to Seattle, and he was full of great feedback and experience that helped make our day perfect. In fact, our very first discussion was over Skype, and Kevin was so easy to talk to, we hit it off right away. We used Disco Royale for DJ services and lighting, and Kevin also created a customized gobo for us which was absolutely STUNNING (and matched the font on our wedding invitations!!!!) and really transformed the reception space. He was very communicative throughout the music selection and other planning processes and I received great feedback from our guests about how nice and fun he was during our wedding reception. The music he picked was perfect throughout the evening and it helped get people on to the dance floor and stay out there! He also helped emcee our reception, which was a huge help in ensuring our guests didn't miss anything. In terms of value, Disco Royale is incredible - we looked at quite a few vendors before making our final decision, but the quality for the price was unbeatable. Kevin was a fantastic DJ and incredibly accommodating for us. The services he provided us went above and beyond providing music on our wedding day. He joined us during our first walkthrough of the venue and during our rehearsal to make sure the sound quality at the venue would be good enough and even provided extra equipment on the big day to enhance the sound on the rooftop, where our ceremony took place. We were very intent on getting specific songs into each part of the wedding, and Kevin was more than willing to work with our playlists. We were even able to make some very last minute changes for the ceremony music without any problems from Kevin. In fact, from our first meeting on, Kevin was responsive to emails and very fun to speak with. Our guests loved the music, and given how busy we were, we can't exactly remember all the songs that were played, but Kevin's got that covered as well - he's sending us the complete playlists. Kevin was definitely one of the best finds for our wedding. We'd highly recommend Disco Royale to anybody looking for a DJ!

Working with Disco Royale was a dream! Not only was our DJ Kevin congenial with my husband and I, he also interacted incredibly well with all the guests at our wedding. Kevin did a great job at our wedding last weekend as our DJ. From the beginning he has been professional and has listened to our requests while offering great suggestions. On the day of the wedding Kevin also helped make things smoothly by being a great emcee (also helped us by asking questions we either didn't think of or forgot about prior to the wedding), and was on top of any last minute requests and schedule changes. Towards the end of the night Kevin was having some serious competition with the beautiful weather at our outdoor venue but he reeled people back in with the music. I'm so happy our wedding ended with a dance party. Kevin's prices are extremely reasonable and competitive with other DJs I researched while wedding planning. Kevin has always been nothing but professional, flexible and accommodating, and even mixed tracks to get the perfect music for special songs. My husband and I would highly recommend Kevin for your event.

Owner of Disco Royale (Kevin Olson) verbally agreed to perform services and on cost. Given our wedding was on a non busy day, allowing a lower price. Few days later fully reneged on performing services and price. Passing us onto someone else which he said may or may not be available. Went on to mention how he performs only "high end weddings" and cannot "go back to lower priced ones". VERY unprofessional business method. Do NOT recommend.

Kevin is very thorough, attentive, and patient, and has a very large repertoire of music. He is also creative and rolls with the punches: we gave him a huge list of songs for our planned 60-90 minutes of dancing, but we only ended up having about 20-30 minutes for dancing, so Kevin had to choose only the best songs, which he did very well! He even sends you a CD of your wedding music afterwards, so you can relive your special day. Highly recommend!

Kevin was so great as our DJ and MC. He met with us twice before our wedding do go over details and discuss options. He played the general theme of music we wanted and was able to make in the moment requests happen seamlessly. Completely satisfied!

Kevin from Disco Royale was wonderful. He had his work cut out with our multicultural (Colombian, Mexican, Italian) crowd but he did great. He compiled all of our requests and played them at the appropriate times. He mixed music well as was very intuitive when it came to what type of music to play to keep the party going. He was charming and had great equipment. We were very happy with our choice of DJ and would most definitely recommend him to our family and friends.

Of all the vendors used for our wedding, we probably put the most time and thought into our DJ (even more so than our venue!). We had both been to many weddings with sub-par DJ's, and knew that a less-than-stellar DJ will dampen an entire wedding. From the moment we first met with Kevin, we knew he would be the perfect person to provide the musical background to our most special day. His professionalism, sense of humor, thoughtfulness, and attention to detail were incredible from start to finish. Kevin from disco royale was amazing. He has been in this business for a long time so he really knows what he is doing. He was very professional and took the time to get to know us. I was able to give him a song and he was able to match it with similar songs. He made our wedding day fun and special. The best part was that he sent us a cd with our wedding playlist. We recently used Disco Royale for our wedding ceremony and reception. Kevin did an AWESOME job! He was easy to work with and very flexible (we had some last minute music choices for the ceremony). Everything went very smoothly. I was worried about the sound and of course the microphone crackling or cutting out ( I have witnessed this at numerous wedding I have been to) but we didn't have any of those problems =) He had the speakers set up in the best position so everyone could hear the speeches (Our wedding was at The Canal, which has a very interesting layout for sound). He is very professional and great when it comes to talking to large groups of people. We had numerous guest mention how great our DJ was and that they loved the music selection. I didn't get to hear to much of the music since we went to take pictures, but from what I did hear during dinner I loved it. I would highly recommend Kevin to any bride and groom. Kevin DJ/MC'd our wedding last month. He gave us a list of genres/artists just to get our gears turning, and was very flexible when it came to songs he did not know about. I requested songs from non-mainstream soundtracks, and he was able to hunt down and cut the songs to the exact places/lengths I wanted. He also provided us with a customization guide sheet to make sure we had the songs we wanted for key moments during the wedding. Kevin was responsive with his emails and made sure he knew exactly what we wanted, how we wanted it. When the big day came, he was spot-on with my request list and got my husband, my and my friends' music tastes so well that I had guests asking me throughout the night if I picked all the songs for the night! I barely had a chance to sit down because I couldn't get myself to sit out of any of the songs he played! The way he MC'd the evening was also perfect. Just the right amount of commentary and humor before going straight back to the course of events. When the night was winding down and only the closest friends and family remained, my guests spontaneously began circling my husband and I with candles and our send-off bubbles during the last dance. Kevin and his assistant Lauren joined right on in with the bubbles -- it was not at all necessary, but was very touching and showed me how much he cared to make our night special.

We had a blast when Kevin DJ'd our wedding in April. Kevin was professional, prompt, and definitely fun to work with. I appreciated Kevin being able to meet with us a few times before the wedding, and he was very prompt and thorough over email too. Kevin was flexible, and seemed to be able to pick up on the vibe of our guests; from music during dinner, dancing songs, and the great last dance song he played. We had a great time!

Kevin was an absolute delight to work with, from start to finish. He was very organized and easy to plan with (his forms and genres made it really easy) and then he was available and open to our preferences. We met with a few other DJs first who just seemed really arrogant and expensive, but yet had very generic playlists and didnt seem to know much about music. Kevin from Disco Royale was a breath of fresh air and we were very relieved that we found him! From our first correspondence with him we knew that he was very professional and would be great to work with. He was very interested to hear about the types of music we liked and the vibe that we wanted for our big day. My fiance is really into a lot of different types of music and Kevin was very familiar with all of the names that my fiance threw at him and had a good sense of exactly what we were looking for. He definitely knows his stuff! Kevin was also very prompt to respond to any emails I sent with questions or concerns. He sent song suggestions and had ideas for how to have ceremony and reception flow smoothly. He played all of the songs that we requested at some point throughout the night, and he had all of the right versions that we had requested. He made any announcements that we asked him to, but did so in a perfectly unobtrusive and professional manner. Kevin is very personable, easy-going, fun, and cool, and has a great attitude! The dance floor was packed for most of the night and Kevin was extremely flexible and threw in a second "last" song since the groom missed the original last song. My only regret is that I was too busy running around for the first part of the evening to be able to truly enjoy the music and atmosphere that Kevin helped to create. But he has generously offered to create us a wedding CD with all of the songs on it from the day so we can relive it! It was a lovely event and we are extremely grateful that we had Kevin be a part of it!
