Our first dance was a fusion of Western music and Bollywood—about 1/3 Jason Mraz’s “I’m Yours” and 2/3 Bollywood (“Mauja Hi Mauja” from Jab We Met). Amina choreographed the dance, ...
and was absolutely wonderful to work with! You can tell she really cares about what she’s doing as she always was willing to stay as long as it took to make sure we got it, and didn’t try to charge us extra for it or anything like that. She went the extra mile in every way, from insisting we do a dress rehearsal (I’m so glad she did!) to advising me on where to get ballroom shoes, and even cutting our music for us and adding in sound effects to transition.
Since I have some past experience with dance, I had a lot of ideas about what I liked and didn’t like, and Amina did an excellent job of incorporating my input. She also did a fantastic job of balancing the dance moves so that my husband, who didn’t have any dance experience, could get them without too much difficulty. She was very patient and flexible, and always had a pleasant disposition.
As for how the dance turned out, our guests absolutely loved it! They were cheering almost the whole time! In the end we have Amina to thank for not only making our wedding dance so memorable and fun, but also making the whole process of learning and practicing the dance just as great. I highly recommend working with Amina to choreograph your first dance. She is not only a wonderfully talented, hard-working, and patient instructor, but also a wonderful person who makes the whole experience truly enjoyable! Thanks Amina!
We had Amina choreograph our first wedding dance to our song - Earth Wind and Fire's Let's Groove. We both had taken a couple of Amina's hip-hop dance classes, so we knew she'd do ...
an amazing job - which she did and then some! She worked with our schedule to find times to meet and included our ideas in our dance. She really put a lot of effort into making the dance special and unique to us. Amina is a very hard working individual and we feel so honored that she created such a great part of our wedding. Thank you, Amina!
we enlisted amina's help for our surprise first wedding dance to jason mraz's "melt with you"- it was a hit! neither of us are dancers so it added to the guests' surprise. honestl...
y, we were just thrilled to have finished the routine, but we got SO many compliments. my new mother-in-law said she didn't realize she was attending a "dancing with the stars" event :-) and some guests were even upset for "setting the bar" so high for their wedding dances! even our wedding coordinator thought it was the best wedding dance ever he had ever seen. it was worth it just for the effect of surprising everyone and setting the mood for a fun evening. we especially didn't realize how well the choreography would be received, and amina deserves all the credit for that. she was very patient with our inexperience, worked to meet our preferences, and even pushed us beyond what we thought we were capable of (just what every great teacher should do!). in addition, she was very flexible in scheduling and extremely generous with her time. for anyone thinking about doing a choreographed wedding dance with creative moves, just do it - it was a great way to have fun with your significant other and set the mood for a great celebration! thanks, amina!

d be fun to mix those along with some Bollywood style music (we're both Indian) and do a dance. Amina was an awesome teacher! Not only was she patient, but she was also very creative with the moves and customized it to exactly what we wanted. After the dance, all the guests came up to us and were raving about how much they loved it. Thank you to Amina for making our first dance extra special!!!
