Troy Barnett, founder of DJ Barnett Entertainment has been entertaining people from coast to coast for over 35 years. In 1988, Troy started playing music for school dances in Northern California at the age of 15, which inspired him to make DJing a career. In 1995, Troy started his first DJ Business "Real Music & Co." in Jacksonville, FL which was huge a success at a very young age. In 1998, he went to work on Cruise Ships to further his experience of music and public speaking as Cruise Director. In 2006, Troy moved back to his hometown in Northern California to be closer to family.

DJ Barnett was so great! He was so enthusiastic and ready to help us through the wedding planning process. He has a process in place so that everything is organized and ready to go days before the event so you are not stressed! He was super amazing! I would absolutely recommend working with him!

We couldn't have asked for a better DJ for our wedding! From start to finish, DJ Barnett was absolutely phenomenal. He incredibly professional, attentive, and truly understood the vibe we wanted for our special day. Outside of our playlist selection, the music selection was spot on, seamlessly transitioning between songs and keeping our guests on the dance floor all night long.
DJ Barnett also did a fantastic job with our requests and even surprised us with some perfect choices that we hadn’t even considered. Their energy and enthusiasm were infectious, making the celebration even more memorable. Many of our guests commented on how much fun they had and how great the music was.
Communication leading up to the event was smooth and reassuring. DJ Barnett was always prompt in responding and made sure every detail was covered. The sound quality and lighting added a magical touch, creating the perfect atmosphere for our reception.

We absolutely loved having DJ Barnett MC/DJ our wedding at Oak Hollow Farms in Orland CA. He was so communicative throughout the planning process and his online forums were easy to navigate to add our music playlists. Every time I had a question he would respond quickly and was always so professional. He made us feel very valued and cared for all night and followed the timeline perfectly. Couldn’t recommend him enough! Thank you Troy for all your hard work making our wedding night amazing!

If you're reading this- BOOK DJ BARNETT for your big day! We had the pleasure of working with DJ Barnett Entertainment and I think we won the vendor lottery by having him DJ and MC our wedding ceremony and reception! The music planning software he guides you with was one of my favorite parts of the process- it made it so easy to plug in my specific songs whenever I wanted along the way while wedding planning. He is very easy to work with. We met for a consultation before the big day and it calmed all my nerves. To my fellow brides, trust me when I say he will make sure all of your DJ wishes come true! Our guests and us could not leave the dance floor. He mixes so well and has a great mic voice! Not to mention, he surprised me by working with my parents to set up the 'Dancing on a Cloud' for our first dance (see the photo). From planning and the amazing package rates, to the fun music and lighting, and him being so fluid on the day of- we are so happy with DJ Barnett Entertainment!

Troy DJ'd our wedding and he was truly amazing!!
During the planning process, he was always available when we had questions and he was very helpful with ideas/recommendations. He even went out of his way to get uplights that matched our color scheme! He also picked up our wedding logo and found a way to display it on both the Photo Mirror and DJ Booth which was amazing and created such a great experience for us and our guests.
We shared a couple songs that we wanted to be played at the Reception and we were very impressed with how perfectly he just picked up the vibe! The songs and transitions he played throughout the Reception were so on point and perfect for our crowd. We could not leave the dance floor! He also did a great job leading the show for our guests (i.e. inviting people to be seated, etc.).
We had multiple guests commenting on how great the music was and asking for Troy's contact info. He made the Reception! He was so personable and fun, we had a great experience working with him and would recommend him and DJ Barnett Entertainment for any wedding and event!

We booked DJ Barnett because we had heard nothing but AMAZING things about him and our wedding proved just that! From the initial contact to the end of the night he hit it out of the park in every way possible! We had a full age range of guests and at some point throughout the night they were ALL on the dance floor. We had some crazy requests of songs and were never told no or given suggestions we didn't agree with. He chose 99% of the songs that were played during the reception and KILLED it! We truly don't believe a better DJ exists!

DJ Barnett Entertainment went above and beyond to make our wedding the most amazing day. From the day we first reached out there was great communication, and any questions we had were answered promptly. While planning, DJ Barnett was available to assist with our timeline and ensured our ceremony and reception timing would flow seamlessly. He had so much insight to offer on all aspects of the day, which was very much appreciated. Our venue was one he had not been to before, so he went for his own site visit to ensure there would not be any surprises on the day of our wedding.
When it came to the day of our event, very few things went according to plan. A massive thunderstorm delayed our outdoor event, but DJ Barnett got all of our other vendors on the same page with timing. This allowed me to focus on the day and not stress about getting the timeline back on track. Thanks to DJ Barnett, my husband and I enjoyed every aspect of the day rather than worrying about details.
He was a great emcee throughout our reception. When it came time for dancing, the dance floor was packed from the moment he started the music until it ended. Very few people decided to skip dancing and he played music that all generations could enjoy. It was so important to my husband and I that all of our guests had fun, and DJ Barnett made sure that was accomplished.
Booking DJ Barnett for our wedding was easily one of the best decisions we made in our planning. I recommend him to anyone in search of an outstanding DJ.

I cannot say enough good things about Troy and the work he did for our wedding. All of our guests were raving about him after the wedding and also loved the photo booth he has. He is professional, amazing, and talented and just made our day so special and smooth. Hiring a DJ is always nerve-racking, but if you hire Troy you have NOTHING to worry about, he will make sure your day is perfect.

DJ Barnett was the best! He kept the party going all night long and with everyone on the dance floor. When I was looking for a DJ I wanted to make sure they could cater to my Hispanic family, and he sure did! The Photo Booth was so much fun! We ordered the dj and photo booth service. Troy did not disappoint! We hand selected our music for both the ceremony and reception. Troy was really good with the timing and followed our very specific instructions to a tee. We loved the photo booth as well. We had a lot of fun taking photos and I am sure I will continue to smile and laugh when I look back at the photos. I don’t plan on getting married a second time, but I sure will find way to work with Troy again.

Dave was the DJ for my wedding and he did an amazing job. From the time we booked his services he was attentive and patient with all the changes that I kept making. He helped me adjust the timeline to keep the reception flowing better. Not to mention his awareness of what kept people on the dance floor. DJ Barnett & his team were professional from the moment we booked them. Troy was very detailed and patient with my husband and me. Our wedding was Disney Themed, and Troy played the right music before the ceremony to set the tone for unforgettable day.

Our experience with Troy began with an initial meeting, which was difficult due to my wife and I's conflicting schedule and far distance from our venue. Troy was extremely flexible and agreed to meet on FaceTime. Once we decided to hire DJ Barnett Entertainment, Troy was extremely responsive over the next couple months. His website was easy to navigate and very detailed, which helped more than we realized when the last minute details of the wedding started to add up. All our requests before the wedding were promptly and thoroughly answered. When wedding day came, Troy was the first outside vendor on site. He was organized and set up with more than enough time to spare, which was important since our wedding was the third of the weekend at our venue. He worked with the venue, our wedding coordinator and other vendors flawlessly. His actual DJ'ing (announcements, mic set-up, music) was also flawless. He had a happy, easy going and positive attitude the entire wedding, which truly made a difference. We had several songs we wanted to be played, which Troy did, but we also allowed him to read the crowd and left a lot of the music choice up to him. Troy made perfect choices that led to a huge 3 hour dance party. Everyone had an amazing time. If we were to do it again, we would not have had Troy do anything differently. He had an amazing attitude throughout the entire process and exceeded all of our expectations!!!

I am so glad Troy was on my venue's vendor list because he was AMAZING all day long. He found and played some of my obscure songs for my processional/first dance and he turned up the energy at my reception so everyone was dancing and having an amazing time. DJ Barnett is actually based out of my hometown, so everyone there recommended him - plus, I just had to. Support small businesses!
Troy was super accommodating from the start. I let him know my budget and he worked well within it. He does book up very quickly (we booked him over a year before the wedding, I think), but it is well worth the planning. Once the contract is signed, you receive a link for an online system. Very handy! Online, you can choose which songs to absolutely play and not play, the timeline, party names, etc etc. If there's not a song in his database, just ask.
Day of, he was on point. He knows how to keep a timeline going, which is so key these days. We actually had to pause for a minute because someone spilled red wine on my dress, but once that crisis was averted, he was moving everyone right along schedule again. He knows how to gauge an audience for music preferences, but still give him a list - it just makes it easier on him.
Absolutely book DJ Barnett for your wedding or other event, you will not be disappointed at all!

DJ Troy Barnett did a fantastic job at our wedding a few weeks ago. From the first time that we met him, a few months before the wedding, I knew that didn't have to worry about this aspect of the wedding, and I was happily right. He handled the sound for the wedding itself and the reception and did a great job of mc, announcer and dj. He played music that both myself, my husband and our guests had a great time with.
