John and DJ by CJ was absolutely incredible - John was a great Emcee, keeping our guests engaged and on the dancefloor. We received so many compliments from our guests how much they loved him and he was also great at "reading the room" and keeping the energy high. Would absolutely recommend him to anyone, and if we ever need this type of service again we are going to be a repeat customer.

Jay was an awesome DJ! We met him in person prior to the wedding to talk through our vision and he nailed it to a tee on the wedding day! He read the room well and played exactly what we wanted. Such a fun night thanks to him.

DJ BY CJ is hands-down the BEST DJ service you could use for your wedding! IF I COULD GIVE HIM 10 STARS, I WOULD. 5 stars doesn’t do them justice. Leading up to the big day, John communicated with us frequently. He sent a very detailed questionnaire and accommodated all our timeline requests. From the ceremony to the cocktail hour, to dinner, and then to the dance portion of the night, the music was perfect. We got countless compliments from all our guests on the variety, popularity, and seamless transition of music. John and his nephew were one of the best parts of our wedding day. He's incredibly easy to work with and was the single reason why our reception was SO MUCH FUN! Look no further for your wedding DJ... The competition isn't even close.

DJ by CJ - John and Steve (DJ Malado), were a total pleasure to work with. From our initial contact, John walked us through the entire process and everything DJ by CJ provided in great detail. It was a huge relief and made choosing a DJ so much easier. Everything that was promised was provided, and then some. John was a professional and very respectful and set us up with Steve (DJ Malado). Steve helped us through all the details for our big day and we laughed the entire time we set everything up. It was a fun and enjoyable experience. On the big day, Steve showed up early to set everything up and was ready to go with plenty of time for sound checks and for us to have a final walk through. The ceremony and night went off without a hitch. The music was exactly what we asked for and the party went on all night long! Steve and his assistant kept the mood upbeat and kept the night flowing smoothly. The music was just the right volume and the mix of dance songs, slow songs, and traditional songs excellent. The music, the dancing, and the lights were a perfect fit, for our perfect night. As a DJ service, I would recommend for any event! 5/5 stars. DJ by CJ is an excellent, professional service that provides amazing services to make your day/event special. John and Steve are amazing, kind, and fun people to work with. They were good to their word on each and every point and were respectful and well dressed. I would recommend them to my friends and family for any future Emcee needs.

John and his team were absolutely amazing! They did a wonderful job putting everything together. He is flexible and will offer advise and help to give ideas different types of things he does to try and get everyone included during the night! I can not express enough how pleased we are with everything John has done to help make our day absolutely perfect!

Best DJ ever. We knew from the first conversation that John knew what he was doing. He was organized, knowledgeable, fun, professional, etc etc. Our friends and family were impressed with his playlist and said it felt perfect for our wedding. John ran the reception perfectly, walked us through the planning in advance, and made us feel at ease with things we didn't originally consider because of how painless he made it all. As an added bonus, he and his coworker(s) took some awesome pics of us!! They also had a slideshow they ran of our photos during our reception. We would recommend him to absolutely anyone and any event. He's a class act, fun, and truly cares about making your day special and memorable.

Dj Darby Place made our wedding EXACTLY what we wanted!! We had a postponed wedding in March 2020 due to Covid, and rescheduled for November 2020. From the beginning Darby was very responsive, easy to work with, and can tell he really enjoys what he does. He's extremely organized and a true Master of Ceremony. He'll make sure multiple times that he has everyone's name correct, has all the requested songs you want, and have you feeling confident in your wedding day from ceremony to reception. He provides pages of songs to choose from if you so wish, and makes sure to give you the *vibe* you want during all parts of the wedding day. The groom and I mingled a lot throughout the reception, but anytime my feet hit the dance floor, Darby would play a specific song I requested. His attention to detail and ability to keep everyone dancing/fit the mood was outstanding. 10/10 recommend hiring DJ Darby!!

John from DJ by CJ and his assistant exceeded any expectations I had for my DJ services on my wedding day. I typically feel out of my element and uncomfortable dancing/ on the dance floor and I give them both credit for creating a memorable experience for my husband and I. I've had so many compliments from my guests regarding my DJ, song choice, and energy level of the night. John made it a point to ensure that everything was running smoothly and checked-in and guided us throughout the evening. The company on the preferred vendor list for my venue and I would recommend their services in a heartbeat. John sat with my husband and I to go through a run down of the event a little less than a month prior, which helped me put together the pieces of what to expect during the night and he was very patient and helpful picking out dedicated songs that I needed for the night (final dance, walking down the aisle, etc). For our wedding on October 13, 2018 we worked with John Strandberg from DJ by CJ and his partner. They were absolutely wonderful and I could not have asked for a better experience for us, as well as the whole wedding day. First off, John spent over two hours with my husband and I about a month before the wedding day, where we figured out all the details and personalization about our wedding. He was wonderful, he had so many idea that we were able to add in to our day, and made every detail perfect for our wedding. John was not only our DJ but also our Master of Ceremonies and had all the timing and important announcing done for us with both the ceremony and the reception. They went above and beyond. Everything flowed effortlessly and the music was perfect us, he knew exactly what we wanted. The dance floor never had an empty space on it! He also kept us perfect on timing and events throughout the night, I could not have asked for better work! I am so pleased and blessed to have had DJ by CJ for our Wedding Day!!! Definitely go with them!!!

For our April Wedding in St. Pete, we had DJ Darby perform our wedding ceremony music, cocktail hour and reception events. From the very start, he was incredibly accommodating scheduling phone meetings (my husband and I are both from out of state), hearing our concerns, what feel we wanted, etc. Even with last-minute switches (the night before!) he executed our requests with understanding, patience and professionalism! Even random requests, such as my husband's personal request of 'Optimus Prime-Roll Out!' for our ceremony walk out, DJ Darby mixed it down to the second of what my husband wanted. During the cocktail hour and reception, he became the ultimate MC. I did not need to hire a wedding coordinator for timing things, Darby was on-top of timing each sequence and flow of things. I am beyond grateful for his expertise, guidance and talents. He made our wedding so MUCH FUN! I would highly recommend his services, and him personally for future events.

The moment I called and booked DJ by CJ, my mind was at ease. This company is very professional, organized, and fun. We had DJ Brian and he was amazing! We met up with Brian before the wedding and he listened to our needs, as well as gave suggestions when we were uncertain. At the wedding, Brian was exactly what we needed. John is the best dj of all time! We had such a blast dancing the night away, I rubbed a hole in the bottom of my wedding shoes. John and his team made our reception go so smoothly and still gave us enough time to enjoy the party ourselves. We felt like we missed out on nothing even though it goes by so fast. His lighting was the finishing touch of our venue and we got to dance to every song we wanted to. Having John and Noriel be part of our day made our reception all the more special. I have known the two of them since I was a child and to have them both give us a great wedding reception made everything come full circle. When we first contacted John in regards to a quote, he not only took the time to call us versus simply replying by email, but he also spent over an hour on the phone with us giving us every detail and answering each question we had. That meant a lot to us being that at the time he did not even know if we were clients yet. Throughout the entire planning process, John was VERY helpful! John met with us and planned everything out as far as introductions and song choices. He also put a slideshow together for us. At the wedding, not only did he ensure everything was on schedule, he also ensured everyone was having fun. Everything from music, uplighting, cake cutting, etc. was handled by John. We cannot thank you enough for a WONDERFUL night! We were absolutely 100% satisfied with his service!

I've know John for a few years now. I work in the wedding business as well as a photographer and videographer. He is one of the absolute best out there that I have seen at any of the hundreds of weddings I have been too! So we had to have him for our wedding. He is DJ, MC, Host, and more. He helped to schedule and plan the night, made it fun and entertaining, no snags, everything up beat and a blast. So proud to say that my wedding was one of the first ones I've been to where EVERYONE was out on the dance floor throughout the night....and that is thanks to John - DJ by CJ! I thought planning a destination wedding was going to be difficult, but with a DJ like John, it was easy, relaxing,.....and fun! John had a Skype meeting with me and my bride-to-be for over 3 hours one night going over every single detail of our wedding. By the time our wedding day arrived, we had no doubts that we had chosen the perfect man for the job! From the pre-ceremony music to the cocktail hour to all of the fabulous music during the reception, everything was amazing. John was familiar with our venue (FL Aquarium) and wedding coordinator and they worked seamlessly throughout the night. John brought an incredible sound system, lighting, and created a photo montage that was played during dinner that the guests adored. He even played music videos to accompany some of the songs and it was a HUGE hit! By the time our final dance of the evening rolled around, it looked like a planned scene from a movie. As my bride and I danced to "I've had the Time of My Life" our guests surrounded us on the dance floor and encircled us! What a feeling! We know that if John (DJ by CJ) hadn't been our dj, the night wouldn't have been half as magical - Stop looking now brides and grooms-to-be....DJ by CJ is your guy!!!

John is absolutely phenomenal!!! I was referred to DJ by CJ by a couple of my friends, who have used them for their weddings. They all said they are awesome and made their wedding day perfect with the choice of music and making sure everything runs smoothly. When I talked with John I knew he was the one for our wedding. His personality, professionalism, and overall how he runs his company was beyond incredible. He told me that he would make my day run smooth, make sure that everyone is on schedule, and would do whatever we needed. He did not want us to worry or stress about anything at our wedding. When we went and met him to go over our schedule for the wedding day and our choice of music, John went over everything and gave us many choices of music and different options of ways we can do things at reception. With all being said, DJ by CJ runs a great company and are very reasonable when it comes to the price for the amount of work and talent they bring to the table. We were very impressed with his work and music he played to keep the dance floor full at all times. We would without a doubt use DJ by CJ for other events and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a DJ for wedding or any other event!!!!

We absolutely LOVED our DJ! He was so awesome in the planning process and helped us pick out songs where we were stuck and kept to our style of music which had us and our guest dancing once the dance floor was open! Our DJ was so nice and so energetic the entire night which helped make the wedding that much more memorable. He was able to include a slideshow I made for the wedding which I really loved. Especially having heard there had been some technical issues at which in one point, he wasn't sure it could be played. BUT, he was able to fix it and play it for our guests which everyone loved! Brian Black went beyond to make our day special and unique to us which I am so grateful for. I definitely recommend DJ by CJ and definitely Brian :)

John was more than a DJ. He met with us multiple times before our wedding to help us set up a schedule for our wedding day, and to help us select all of the songs we needed. He had a great variety of songs for the ceremony music so it made it very easy for us to choose something beautiful without having to search for it on our own. John helped give us ideas to make our wedding day special like creating Power Points full of pictures to show during our reception. John was very professional, yet fun. He and his team made our wedding day run so smoothly. They kept everything on track and made sure nothing was forgotten. He did a great job of getting the crowd's attention and making things fun. This Dj was AWESOME!!! we has several meetings to discuss exactly what we wanted. At the meetings, he was very prepared and told me what to expect. He had the whole wedding mapped out for us, you can tell he was very experienced and knew what they were doing. Very friendly and amazing to work with. Also kept the party going!!

Aside from the venue, the DJ was at the top of our "most important vendor list." Our wedding was everything we envisioned it to be, and so much more; the "so much more" came courtesy of John. John took our event from a wedding to a night we will remember forever. From the moment John was recommended to us (by the Florida Aquarium), I knew the music at our event was officially taken care of. We met one time with John prior to the event, and from the meeting everything was finalized. The music at the event was flawless. Even though we provided John with a list of only a dozen or so songs, he tuned into our musical taste and that of our guests--which made for one amazing party. Our dance floor was packed the entire night; everyone from our parents to our co-workers were dancing. I danced the entire night away with all of the people I love the most. The pictures of the dance floor are incredible;I treasure the pictures from this night more than I ever imagined possible. John was attentive to guest's requests. I received compliment after compliment about John and his services. Moreover, he worked with my other vendors to ensure the events went smoothly throughout the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. He was a second coordinator. It is important to realize that your wedding night is the one and only time in your life you will have this collection of people together at one time--all there to celebrate your union. Why would you even begin to compromise this event? John is an amazing DJ, an incredible emcee, and a truly upstanding professional in his field. I highly recommend John and would trust him with any event in the future.

John & Noriel were our DJ'S for our wedding and they were amazing! They had also did my sisters wedding but made mine totally different from hers. They make your whole night flow perfect and all my guests and family can't stop telling me how much fun they were. My wedding was a blast and a BIG part is because of them!!

John Strandberg of DJ by CJ is an amazing DJ. His set up is so unique and fun. He brought a big screen tv to play old videos on during some of the songs. I was at first scared that this would be distracting from the other parts of my wedding, but it wasn't at all. It really added something special. John made sure our toasting glasses were full and that we got to taste some of our food that night. We felt truly pampered. All of our must play songs were perfect and none of our do not play songs weren't played. John made the night special. He was not obtrussive (as I have seen many other DJs be), but kept the party going.

He kept the night going smoothly. We didn't have to worry about anything. He had great ideas and the music selection was awesome. Definitely the best DJ I have seen and heard.
