the venue and was setting up, there was a storage closet by him, someone had put something in there that was needed for the cake that had just been delivered. The stepdad of the bride asked if he could get it (I was not standing right there I didn’t hear the conversation). He was able to retrieve what was needed but told me that Charlie was rude and told him if he did it again he was leaving. Charlie “scolded” me, I apologized and explained that we didn’t know the items were in there several times. I was speaking to the bride and she said he was a little “snarky” with her. She asked him to play something and he told her he was playing what was on her list. I would completely understand if it was a guest request but it was the bride.
Again he did his job and is not terrible, I just feel his people skills were lacking that day and it’s not acceptable. He may have been having a bad day-again not acceptable.

What is never acceptable is the mother and stepfather of the bride kept coming on/behind stage after being told repeatedly professionally that access to the stage area after light racks, speaker stands, DJ console and power/speaker cords were set up was not allowed, adding their own smart comments as they continued to do so. The storage closet behind the set up was NOT for use by the wedding party; it stored the event tables and chairs owned by the venue. No one is allowed access to the stage (especially behind it) after set up due to insurance liability and safety reasons. I did not scold anyone. I did tell Francine, in front of the two, that they had to stay off the stage and that I had explained this to her during planning. She acknowledged that and apologized. I told her I wasn't blaming her, but that she, as my booking contact, needed to help me get the point across to her in-laws. No one threatened to leave. Yes, not the most pleasant conversation, but I was not rude. Some people can't handle NO, regardless of how gentle it is expressed. Try walking up on a stage or backstage at any show, night club, concert, festival, etc and see what happens to you.
The bride told me to play "booty music" shortly after dinner and the cake cutting. I told her that I had the booty music that she requested on her song list. I was not snarky and I played all of her requests without any comment; which created its own problem when half the room then emptied in the next 30 minutes due to half the guests being over 50. But that's another story. The bride obviously already had a problem with me after the 'please stay off the stage" moment with her parents. On the bright side, Weddingpro says getting reviews like this makes your review list look "more Real" lol. Here's to looking Real. Now that's snarky :-)

From the ceremony music (4 different songs), Cocktail hour (1 hr) to the reception (3 hrs dancing) it was a hit!
We and all of our guest had so much fun! I asked Charlie to played specific songs from Colombia, Mexico, Brazil and some American music and honestly the dancefloor was busy. We had very specific music we wanted for our ceremony, including our recessional to "Still D.R.,E" but only played on piano and he nailed it! It was such a hit! We also wanted our reception to feel like a club, not a typical wedding reception. We were jamming out! Even down to the last song I remember, Limp Bizkit. Who else could find a DJ to end the night light that! He followed every single request we had. Even before the big day, he was so easy to work with. His website makes it super easy to add songs and everything was doable for him. There was no skipping in the music, it flowed, there was no odd mixes, his announcements were perfect and he worked great with my wedding planner. I cannot recommend him enough! We partied hard! t our wedding ceremony, to the end of our reception. He told me from the start, "your wedding is your vision and should be done exactly as you wish." He came fully prepared the day of the wedding, did everything exactly as I had requested during our ceremony and reception and even informed me if we were under, or ahead of schedule based on the event timeline we completed online. He definitely kept things running smoothly.
The music was very important to me and Charlie understood that from the very beginning. He has an online portal that makes it so easy (and fun!) to select the songs you want to hear, or absolutely don't want to hear. I even picked the order I wanted each song played and was able to tell him precisely when to start and stop a song, if we didn't desire the entire song be played. I loved it!
He said all the things I had asked him to say to each of my guests at exactly the right moments and even threw in a few of his own interesting statements (after running it by us first, of course). Charlie is a class act and I would definitely hire him again for any of my future events. He deserves 10 stars!

We had him play the acoust...
ic guitar for our ceremony which I was told was really beautiful (I was so nervous I don't remember much sadly) and he timed everything perfectly during the reception.
He knew when to play a slow song and when to play a fast one and there were people on the floor all night!
He also had the task of melding country music (50 Texans present) with dance and classic music and did it wonderfully. He even made sure I got some time to dance it out and have fun with my guests. I could not recommend him more highly.
Book quickly, he gets booked up about 10 months in advance, I lucked into him being my DJ and boy was it worth it!

and professional and did a great job reading the crowd to decide what songs to play. We also had him play his guitar and sing during cocktail hour which was great! I highly recommend him because he did a great job and is not overprices like a lot of other DJ's out there.
