y songs, as well as, do not play songs. They adhered to our list rather strictly & that made for such a fun reception. The online portal that they provide for making these suggestions was incredibly user friendly & made for a great consumer experience. Leading up to the wedding, we had discussions with their customer service team who were really helpful in planning our timeline & talking us through the day of our wedding and how their team would come in to play for our experience. Our DJ also made a point to bring us water & make sure we were doing alright throughout the day. They also were able to provide all the sound & equipment (microphones, speakers, etc) for our outdoor ceremony. 10/10 would recommend DJ Connection to anyone for their wedding day!

We booked DJ Connection because they were running a promo following a bridal expo and they were easy to work with in the planning process but were overall so irritatingly cheesy I regretted booking with them after the second call. They have con...
stant bits and theatrics throughout every call but I asked to have that not included in our wedding which they honored.
On our wedding day, our DJ showed up to set up and kept pretty much to himself which was no problem but we had to find him to seek out when our officiant needed to do a sound check to get set up with the mic. He brushed it off like it was no big deal which was weird but we just ignored that and continued.
We had a call finalizing details with someone who was not our DJ the week before the wedding and we confirmed all the important songs then on the day of right before our grand entrance into the reception, we confirmed with our DJ which song we were going to enter to and then 2 minutes later when we did our entrance, he played not the song we had confirmed but our first dance song completely ruining a moment we were SO excited about because we had planned something really funny.
Then, for our first dance he played the wrong version of the song we had picked even though we had uploaded the correct version to the portal and confirmed it in our final call.
His personal energy was low and we had to request songs to keep people on the dance floor as he was missing the mark.
Huge disappointment, honestly.

hear that we were able to have a seamless night outside of this issue, and I'm sorry to hear of the misstep from the DJ during the Grand Introductions. For the music issue, we as DJ's have a hard time nailing down which exact version of a song is envisioned for the moment, and we do have processes to thoroughly check our pulled music through several lines of defense at this time in an effort to avoid this issue ever happening in the future. Our wedding was postponed due to COVID-19, but DJ Connection was incredibly flexible and worked with our changes.
Our DJ was great on the day of as well. He checked with us before the ceremony to ensure everything was correct regarding our requests, but didn't take too much time and worked well behind the scenes. He did an awesome job of including all of our many requests and also did a great job of reading the crowd and keeping them engaged.

Hi Nikki! After talking to the bride, the coordinator, and the DJ, there seems to be 4 main issues that are in question. 1.) The bride said that the DJ missed a couple of the cues during the ceremony including playing the bridesmaid song too lo...
ng and then starting it over again when the bridal song was supposed to start. According to the DJ, the flower girl and ring bearer stopped in the middle of the aisle and didn't want to move so he started the song over again versus just letting there be silence. The bride couldn't see any of this because she was behind the doors waiting to come in. 2.) The Grand Intro song was messed up and rushed. I will say that the DJ did make a mistake here. The bride wanted the song "Forever" played by Chris Brown for the bridal party and the the couple. The issue was the bride wanted the DJ to intro all the wedding party and then wait until 3:42 seconds in the song when the beat drops to introduce the couple. The DJ had intro'd the wedding party in the first 30 seconds and instead of waiting 3 minutes to intro the bride and groom, he just cued up the "beat drop" on the other side of the mixer to cut out the 3 minutes so it wouldn't be awkward for the guests to sit through. The bride wanted us to wait the 3 minutes and that's our fault for assuming. 3.) The bride said that she asked the DJ to play the Wobble and he said that it wasn't on the playlist and then didn't play it. The DJ said that the bride never asked to play the wobble, it was a guest that came up to him and ask to play it but it wasn't on the playlist so the DJ asked the bride at some point if it was okay and she said yes. He didn't want to assume that requests trump what the bride initially said. The DJ said that there were other events coming up so he never got to play the song. It's hard to say who is right here especially when there are a lot of moving parts happening at the same time. It is possible that she said "yes, play the song" vs " yes, you can play the song for them". 4.) The bride said they didn't really have a fun dance party. I spoke with the DJ and the coordinator and they said that there was some family tension that happened on the day that made things difficult to get everyone hyped and on the dance floor. I'm sure the DJ could have done a better job trying to get everyone to involved and on the dance floor had circumstances been different. Moving forward, we will do our best to over clarify if someone wants us to wait and introduce them at a certain time in the song for the grand entrance.

They make sure that every last detail is figured out. They have two phone conferences with you (when you book and 2 weeks before the big day) to make sure everything is taken care of. You can choose all the songs you want (I didnt have a single song played at my wedding that I didnt pick so no awkward singing/dancing), and even when to cut off each song. I so wish I could remember my DJs name ( I think it was Ryan- but you know who you were at our Allenbrooke wedding!!) because he made everything run so smoothly and always played it by ear with what the bride and groom were doing/wanted. We used your bridesmaids laptop to get all of your music for Dinner as well as ALL of your important events songs. According to The DJ he was able to even play many of your requested receptions songs with the help of your bridesmaid who had a few of them on her phone combined with the many others that were commonly used songs that we take out to every event. All in all we take full responsibility for the stress that it caused and that's why we talked with you after the wedding and gave you a refund.

WAY!!! They give you a portal to use to make selections for every moment of your big day. I was able to request songs that we were not even sure were going to be able to be played, and they were able to get every single one of them. On top of that they also have an area for songs you DO NOT want to play and they stick to it. He was a great MC and was able to keep the party going. I could not have been happier with the service I received over the phone either. I wasn't a highly needy bride but anytime I had question I was able to get answers. They have a very well planned out timeline that helps make sure you are on track, even if your event isn't for months. They weren't lying about getting back to you either. They reached out to me a few weeks before our picnic to talk through the schedule I had submitted to them on our online portal (that was another cool feature- you have your own online portal that allows you to lay out a timeline of when you want announcements made, certain songs played, etc.) to make sure our event ran as smoothly as possible.
The day of our event, our DJ Chris, made everything so easy for me. Not only was he very easy-going and helped reassure me that he had everything under control, he also was very flexible to any last minute changes. He had all the equipment he needed with him including wireless microphones, which were super helpful when making announcements around the different park locations.

That system is a bit clunky especially in organizing the event timeline, but it's still nice to be able to know exactly what's going where and have things tailored to exactly what we needed.
For our wedding, I have nothing but praise for the way things went. Timing was perfect, the DJ even was able to loop a few pieces of music seamlessly when we took longer than planned on the processional. Just a couple days before the wedding, we had some last-minute changes, and they were more than accommodating and happy to help! Everything went so smoothly for ceremony and reception, and I can't recommend DJ Connection highly enough!

From the coordinators to the DJ himself, everyone at DJ connection was so courteous and professional, making the process not only easy but enjoyable! Not every vendor was so understanding when speaking to the maid of honor instead of the bride, but DJ connection never treated me wrong. They were very modern and cooperative above all else. As for the music on the day of, it was perfect! The DJ followed instructions to the t, but also had his own DJ flair that was perfect for the mood of the reception. The ceremony music was great as well. His set up was quick and easy and he knew exactly what he was doing, he even brought a whole set up for a surprise performance by some of the junior members of the wedding party. Needless to say if we had the chance to do it over again we would definitely make the same choice. DJ connection was the way to go, professional, affordable, and the overall right choice. The perfect backtrack to the perfect day!

and heard that we had to hire them. Plus, we had all sorts of discounts that allowed us to hire them for our big day and still stay within our overall budget! I also want to mention, from previous comments I have seen – I was never given a “nickname” or called other than my own name “Mikyla” and when I e-mailed them with questions throughout the planning process I received a reply within 24 hours if a weekday.
About one week from the wedding date I had a final phone meeting discussing timeline and who my DJ was going to be. We rated our event from 1-10 a 7/10 (how much involvement and crazy haha you want them to be) and it was exactly what we wanted wedding day. I want to send major kudos to our DJ from DJ connections, Matt (Rhodes?). He was dressed professionally, we heard him loud and clear without covering our ears during the reception, he was super attentive and worked super well with our day-of-coordinator, he played the songs we wanted and he avoided the songs we did not want played, he even was super accommodating when my dad placed a honeymoon fund lantern for people to donate to our honeymoon at the DJ table (a Filipino tradition – although dad wanted the money pinned to my dress like Filipino style but I was not about to let that happen ahah so he settled for a lantern, which our DJ mentioned to donate throughout the night). I believe DJ connections mentioned Matt has been with the company for 7+ years and he is phenomenal! Throughout the night, he made it about us, for example right before a special event (i.e. garter toss) he would say, “Alright everybody, give it up for our bride and groom, Mikyla and Ian”)! I LOVED that he did this because throughout the night we would get claps and cheers over and over again! Matt with DJ Connections was definitely everything we wanted in a DJ. Our experience with DJ connections was a GREAT one and Matt was exceptional!

The DJ mixed the songs so well, all we had to do was update the list of songs we wanted to play on our big day. They also had a “do not play list” as well which was great! I was so angry when I was told about this when getting back from my honeymoon. He also did not try to get the crowd involved or make it a fun time. No one even saw us cut our cake because no one heard him announce it because he did nothing to try to get anyone’s attention!!! My husband had to go up to him at least two different times to tell him to try to play more upbeat music and to get people on the dance floor and he never did. My cousin had to give him a list of about twenty songs and told him to just play those all in a row in order for people to be on the dance floor, but that was after majority of people had left so I was very frustrated. We also got charged for an extra set up fee because he did the music at our ceremony and he ended up using our church equipment and not his. Which was why I had to pay an extra fee because he would have had to set up his equipment in two different locations, but he never had to since he used our church equipment. This dj was the only bad part of our wedding day (besides the rain). I’m very upset that I was given a dj that did not care at all about making my reception a fun time and did not want to be there to entertain and make sure everyone had a good time.
