pecial day. Our guests still talk about what a fun party we had, and we would not have been able to pull it off without her. When planning, we wanted to make sure that all of our friends and family had a genuinely fun time. It was important to us that the entire day be soulful and infused with ritual and celebration, rather than going through expected motions and gestures. I knew Emanne through the local Arab community, and from parties, clubs and events around the Bay, and loved her vibe and taste in music. She is so warm and vibrant. So it was an obvious choice to see if she would DJ our wedding. Emanne met with us a couple of times to get clear on what music and vibe we wanted. My husband is really passionate about music and particular about good mixing and sound systems. We also wanted to mix our cultures, bringing hip hop and Arabic music together. She guided us through the process of selecting specific songs we loved, songs we loathed, and leaving the rest to her, making it really simple and easy. We met as the date approached with her and our officiant to talk through details of the day of. And between them, we felt at ease that we where about to have fabulous celebration we really envisioned having. Emmane set up the gear and curated the sound from arrivals until we got told to leave the venue. She had everyone bopping during the ceremony, and had our mics set up for vows. She kept everyone energized during cocktails, played great music during dinner, and then really made our dreams come true for the dancing. This included moving around our venue several times, and MCing the day. She was super thoughtful about what mood to put folks into, altering genres and energy, playing great music that everyone loved. We have so many great photos of our elders and our friends all truly enjoying themselves. Emanne was one of the best decisions we made, and worth every penny. She went above and beyond in her thoughtful preparation. She really helped us fulfill what we wanted our celebration to be about, and we will forever be grateful.
