who set up a mixing board and essentially play a Spotify playlist. Our guests had a good time and the dance floor was pretty active all night which was fantastic! However from our perspective, DJ Freddy did not meet our expectations that guests would not have known about.
During our initial introduction call with DJ Freddy, we gave him notes on our overall vision for the music and our wedding. This included that we were going to ask our guests on the RSVP card about a song that “gets them up on the dance floor” and we wanted those songs to be played throughout the night; no country music (groom’s request) and a healthy mix of slow songs. DJ Freddy asked us to input 50 songs into his music library tool under the “must play” section, and add in other songs in the “play if there is time” and the “do not play list”. We took a lot of time to curate the 50 songs into the music library, most of which were the songs that our guests requested and maybe half were played throughout the night; while it is unrealistic for all to be played, it was unfortunate that certain songs people were looking forward to were not played after we had asked them to send in songs. We requested a “healthy mix of slow songs”, and got 2 once the dance floor was fully opened after dinner service – one of which was a country song that no one knew and cleared the dance floor pretty quickly, even after the groom went up to DJ Freddy and requested switching the song. We explicitly requested the last slow song of the night be “Purple Rain” by Prince, as a tie-in to our Minnesota themed wedding and it was never played, which was disappointing especially after he said that he worked WITH Prince. The Bride also requested a specific processional song and included the exact link from his music dashboard into the NOTES section so he would play it, and he did not - he played a similar version by the same artist, but it was not the one that the Bride had instructed him to play.
Lastly, he gave our Day of Coordinator a hard time all night and did not seem to have a grasp on the timeline of events, which caused confusion behind the scenes.
Again, while the dance floor was active all night and guests seemed to have a good time, we were underwhelmed with our experience with DJ Freddy and was unfortunately not worth the more expensive package than some other “weekend warrior” companies.

st services, which is what I have been doing for several hundred events. As you are addressing every minute detail here, I will also address your concerns:
1. The reason your wedding coordinator was upset with me was because I was instructed by the same coordinator to play the first dance at 7:00pm. However, you came up to me and told me to play it at a time that was not scheduled on your timeline (7:00pm). I did exactly what you requested me to do, this of course undermined your coordinator's plan and caused the coordinator to become upset.
2. The reason I didn’t play Prince - Purple Rain as the final song of the night is because you had another song listed Donna Summers - Last Dance in the Last Dance category on the wedding song planner.
3. When you mentioned that "I cleared" the floor with the country song. I understand that you and your husband did not like that song, however, felt it would be unfair to the guests that requested it to not allow it to finish as they were still dancing to it.
On a side note, from the second that I began playing music until the very end there was not one moment with an empty dance floor. I pride myself on keeping my floors dancing all night, and I did do this at your wedding. (I have the photos and videos of you dancing and having a good time, I recall you thanking me for sending the to you). Also, as we are attending to every detail, I would also like to point out that you did not honor the contract as on there was a clause stating a canopy had to be provided for outside ceremonies, due to the lack of fulfillment of this clause from your part, I had to set up in an area that was less than ideal for that and shift my set up as the sun changed positions, so there was not risk of the gear being compromised by direct sunlight and not have issues during your ceremony.
You have all the right not to be happy with my services, but it is also important to be transparent when writing a review and I feel that it is important to clarify both sides.

was. From our first phone call with Fred we were confident he would do a great job. Communication was easy and efficient. Price was very fair and worth every penny. Dave did great job communicating with us regarding our preferences and set up a few phone calls with us to go over details. He played all the right music and the dance floor was full the entire night. Dave was also flexible and happy to agree to a last minute change we requested for our package. We had the best wedding and Fred and Dave were a huge part in making our day great! If you're looking for a DJ, book them!!

Cliff Notes Review:
Freddy Fresh says that he will keep the dance floor full and he means it. If dancing at your reception is important to you, then go with Fred! He was very easy...
to work with, his prices offered a great value. He has been doing this for many years and his knowledge of the wedding process is spot on. He needed very little guidance and was self sufficient taking a *huge* load off our shoulders on the day of. The music was a home run, there was not a single moment the floor was empty all evening!
I'll offer a more in depth review for people that may be on the fence. Freddy Fresh did such a good job we feel we owe him a proper review.
Communication:
From the first point of contact Freddy Fresh was on the ball. I contacted him three separate times until the wedding day and he responded within hours all three times if not immediately. He is an easy going guy, and an effective communicator. There was no gray area in my understanding of the process or what he needed from us to make things go off without a hitch.
Master of Ceremony:
From the moment he stepped onto the wedding/reception site you can tell that Fred has done this many times. He found the owner of the venue, and figured out his power situation for the reception as well as the ceremony. He had himself set up an hour+ in advance with little to no guidance from us. Which is a massive help, as we had so many other things on our plate. He is very self sufficient, and this took a lot of stress away. After he was set up he came over to talk about specifics for the ceremony, bridal party entrance, speeches, cocktail hour music, etc. And then he took it from there. His timing was spot on for the entire evening, and everything went off without a hitch.
Music:
When you hire any vendor you see the reviews, but you just don't know how it's going to go until the day of. I can say with 100% confidence that Freddy Fresh surpassed all expectations. The DJ was one of the most important decisions for us since a wedding is a celebration after all. He has an great website where you give him 20-50 songs that you want to hear throughout the evening and then he will build an evening of dancing based off your tastes. We had Country, Oldies, Rap, EDM, the classics (cha cha slide), etc. And he was able to mix them together so that the dance floor was hopping at all times. He is an extremely attentive DJ and reads the dance floor constantly. If the crowd wasn't feeling a genre change, he'd change it back or try another. If people weren't ready to slow down, he'd pick the pace back up. I said it above, but if dancing is important to you. Freddy Fresh is a sure bet!

Our wedding included a lot of Latino guests, and his knowledge of latin music was impeccable. His ability to mix in Latin music with the pop, electronic, and rock we also wanted was perfect. He also was able to make announcements in both English and Spanish which was a huge plus for us.
Aside from the amazing dancefloor, he did the ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner music as well. He was intentional when planning for these, ensuring that our personalities would shine throughout the day and night.
You won't regret hiring Freddy Fresh. Especially if you're looking for a more unique and memorable dancefloor!

Freddy Fresh was THE. MAN. He mixed live, generating sick beats that helped keep our crowd on the dance floor all night long. I had numerous guests approach me both during and after the wedding to specifically compliment our DJ. In fact, he was so good that he had the entire bridal party jumping around the table and chanting his name.
I cannot describe how happy I am with the Better DJs service and would recommend to literally everyone in the greater Twin Cities and Wisconsin area. Do yourself a favor: skip the unnecessary internet research and book Better DJs for your next event!

Freddy Fresh was the only person I thought I could trust to make that happen and he absolutely delivered. We had a very specific playlist we wanted and Freddy was able to really make the night have high energy from start to finish. It wasn’t a religious wedding, but DJ Freddy Fresh TOOK US TO CHURCH! He was able to read the crowd flawlessly and played songs correspondingly to the crowd to get as many people on the dance floor as possible. So many of our guests commented on what a great DJ he was. This benefited not only our planning phase (Freddy was basically the only vendor we weren't at least a little concerned about), but when the event came, everything went very smoothly. He timed announcements expertly, he knew how to read the room, and he was very responsive to our timing as some small things fluctuated. Working with Freddy was more similar to working with a teammate than coordinating with a vendor! And of course, everyone had a blast!

e loved how energetic he always was. He met us at our venue as soon as we arrived to reassure us he was all set up. He played all the songs on our playlist and is super awesome at mixing music and keeping people dancing. Everyone who commented about him only had very positive things to say and had a great time. Also, it was very nice that he checked on me and the groom individually several times throughout the evening to make sure we were having fun. I can't recommend DJ Freddy Fresh enough!!

The music was a huge part of making our reception as fun and memorable as it was, and that was thanks to Freddy! People were dancing all night long, and he was even able to weave in a lot of the custom Swedish songs that we requested. He also helped make sure the speeches went smoothly and had a back-up microphone ready to go when we needed it. We HIGHLY recommend him for anyone looking for a DJ for their wedding or any event!
